    Pepperoni calzone.
    David V.

They were open kinda late for Christmas Eve, they were open until 8:00pm which was a bit surprising for a mom and pop pizza place. I called about 7:35pm and ordered a pepperoni calzone. After tax I paid about $8.75. The calzone is not incredibly large like other restaurants, but at the same time it's under $9.00 paid with cash. They charge a small fee for purchases made via card, if I had paid with card or was going to be about $9.15 out the door. Either way, the food was good, it was hot and fresh and filling. I can't ask for more than that.

If you're looking for a great pizza spot here it is! The pizza is amazing and the price is good too. I actually did delivery via Grubhub and the pizza got to us hot. The crust on the pizza is so good a little crisp on the outside be soft on the inside. The cheese is good quality and tops are well proportioned. We also got the antipasto salad and it's one of the better ones that I've had. Give this place a try and you'll be wanting pizza all the time.

With tons of other options for pizza around here let me tell you why you need this one in your life. It's definitely a take out spot unless you want to eat in your car and burn ya mouth while getting your wheel all greasy then go for it, but if you are like me and enjoy a delicious pie at home then this is the place. I ordered the XL with pepperoni, olives , extra cheese and extra sauce and that is definitely our favorite, it baffles me how I am able to pick up a slice with all that cheese stacked on it and not have everything fall off, they must have some awesome cheese blend with just the right amount of ratios. Definitely tastes much better than your average pizza, great sauce not too salty not too thick, the crust is crispy and airy almost like French bread. I ordered extra cheese but I do that to every pizza it's just how I like my pizza ooey gooey . This place always hits the spot and always has great service.

Always on point! This small spot is a must try. The pizza is done in 15 mins and the price is right.

    Veggie pizza.

This is definitely a take out place. Lots of specials written on the windows. I ordered the veggie pizza. It was loaded with vegetables. The veggies were the best thing about the pizza. They were fresh, crunchy, full of flavor and abundant. The sauce was almost non existent. It's super heavy with cheese. The crust was average, but not good enough to eat alone without the toppings. It's better than Dominos or Pizza Hut. Service was fast and friendly.

Not sure what's going on here? It was our favorite pizza spot. The last time we picked up it didn't look or taste the same.

I didn't think it was up to par with the reviews on here. I think Baby Bro's and Brickhouse have the upper hand as far as taste.

The pizza is worth the price, better than the local big chain pizzas. The wings are also pretty good.

What's better? PizzaMania or PizzA 21

Pizza 21 was pretty good. I would say that the pastrami pizza was definitely better at Pizza 21 than at PizzaMania.

Do they even carry vegan options? Vegan! Not vegetarian !

Yes you can get a vegetarian pizza

This place is literally close to me! I want to know how much is it for a small pizza or waffle fries I've been hearing about?

7.50 with one topping and the fries are $3.00

Ordered the uptown special the perfect blend of vegetables, cheese, marinara sauce, and meat. I was told it would take about 35 minutes but trust me as soon as I've been in that pizza I don't even remember how long it took all I know I went straight to heaven. This pizza is delicious. They have so many others to try but they also offer sandwiches here. Parking is good and I don't regret a single second stop by or even find out if you can call Dean but when you bite into it, you'll feel the same sensation I did... Wow, somebody found a way to serve heaven in a Pizza.

Before Uptown Pizza Co. existed, this was the location of much loved but much misunderstood…read moreLamppost Pizza, which was(/is?) a chain in name and logo only--I believe every single Lamppost location was franchised. I know this one was. I'm not going to bore or bedazzle or befuddle or bedraggle you with (too many) stories of Uptown Whittier's Lamppost Pizza, mostly because most of those stories are my brother's and his friends' and his former coworkers' (sometimes the same people) stories to tell. I'll only mention Big Frank (RIP) and Tim and Jason and Louie ("Yeah!" "yeah!")--yes, that Louie (RIP). But Lamppost is in Uptown Pizza Co.'s DNA, or at least Big Frank's special, super secret sauce is baked into the walls of this place's pizza oven, because all these years and decades later, the pizza from Uptown Pizza Co. tastes very similar to the pizza from Lamppost Pizza in the 1980s and 1990s, which is to say that it's very good. "But John S.," you're probably shouting from your easy chair, "if the owner(s) of Uptown Pizza Co. bought the business from Big Frank, then he probably gave the owner(s) his recipe!" And there, my dear, intrepid, and sadly all too impressionable readers, you would be dead wrong. Frank never shared his recipe with anyone. Not with Tim (his most trusted manager), not with his two sons (whom he hoped would take over the business), and not even with his wife. It was such a secret that Frank refused to make the sauce at the pizza place, lest someone should see him and reverse engineer the recipe by sight. No, he assembled the sauce packets on the kitchen table in his house on Mollyknoll Avenue way on the eastern side of Whitter, loaded the packets into his truck, and brought them to work each day. Perhaps unknowingly, Uptown Pizza Co. pays a kind of perverse homage to Big Frank's secretive sauce packets by giving away its Parmesan cheese in little plastic dime bags. The pizza is very good. Every time my brother is in town and we're talking about ordering pizza, he's the first to volunteer to drive all the way to Uptown to pick it up. If these walls could talk, they'd get an R-rating for bad language alone. And don't even get me started on what transpired in the alley behind the pizza shop. I don't even want to know the truth.

The sauce, the cheese, the wood fire cooking, the crust! Everything was phenomenal. This spot is so easy to miss. Inside the old bank in uptown Whittier. Her staff were with smiles and happy to answer my questions about the menu. Truthfully, this pizza hits the tone for anyone who truly has had pizza from Napoli. Some may feel different due to there being so many choices of pizza and I've had great pizza. But if you are looking for authentic, true to taste from Italy. This is the place!
