Traveling for 2 weeks and in dire need of laundry. App is easy to use, communication and service was great! Cost is less than expected.

I would not recommend Press Cleaners and feel strongly that their business model is misleading…read more Summary: Press Cleaners charges a premium for a service they do not actually provide, offers poor customer support, and returned my wedding dress completely uncleaned after missed deliveries and multiple communication failures. I scheduled dry cleaning for my wedding dress and clearly indicated that it was a wedding dress, included care instructions, and noted specific areas with stains that needed attention. From the start, communication was a problem. I attempted to contact customer service to update pickup instructions and received no response. I reached out again with questions about delivery timing once the cleaning was complete, and again received no response. My delivery was delayed by a full day, and the original delivery time window I selected was not honored for the new day. Since no one would be home during the updated window, I contacted customer service yet again and still received no reply. Eventually, a customer service agent called me to say they were unable to remove the stains and would issue a partial store credit. During that call, I asked about the updated delivery time and was told they did not know. At that point, the new delivery window had already passed and my dress still had not arrived. The agent was not even aware that my order had not been delivered and could not tell me where my dress was. When I asked what methods were used to clean the dress or what attempts had been made to remove the stains, the agent had no information at all. It became clear that Press completely outsources everything. The dry cleaning, pickup, and delivery are all handled by local cleaners. Press is simply an app and a customer service layer, and even that is poorly managed since they have no visibility into the status, location, or care of your items. When my dress was finally delivered, it came with the bag and receipt from the local dry cleaner. That receipt showed a price that was roughly one quarter of what I paid Press. The local cleaner's receipt also included pickup and delivery, which made it very unclear what I was actually paying Press for. Press was unable to assist me at any point in the process. The dress arrived in the exact same condition it was picked up in. The stains were still there, with no improvement at all. I honestly believe no one attempted to clean it. Afterward, we used baby wipes at home and were able to remove the stains on the first attempt, which made this even more frustrating. Customer service was a poor experience as well. The agent was rude, frequently interrupted me, and was argumentative rather than helpful. I only received a refund after stating that I would dispute the charge. In short, you are paying about four times the price for a service that provides no added value. The cleaning, pickup, and delivery are all handled by another company, and Press offers no meaningful oversight, accountability, or support. I would absolutely not use this business again.

Quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever received…read more I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so bad that people should know... I brought several garments to Press Cleaners in Austin specifically for dry cleaning. Instead, they were washed and folded, which is not what I requested and not appropriate for these items. As a result, three garments were ruined. When I raised the issue, I got a completely inconsistent and frustrating response: First, they said their policy was to re-dry clean everything. When they did reschedule to pick my clothing up, they were 3 hours behind schedule and I had to re-alert them of this. Then they called back and said they would wash and fold again except for 4 of the garments (which makes no sense given the problem). Then they accused me of having worn the garments--I had not worn any of them. After that, they claimed the items had been dry cleaned by another vendor--which is simply untrue, as they had clearly not been properly treated at all. At every step, the responsibility was deflected back onto me instead of being acknowledged. In the end, they refused to refund me and are returning my clothes still ruined and not dry cleaned nor fixed. This wasn't just a mistake, it was poor service compounded by misinformation and blame-shifting. Do not ever work with them if you value your clothing and basic customer service.

Update 3-15-23 ! Jeff called me back once in late February…read moreand is now not calling me back. I am sad this company has gotten this bad! I read several other reviews by people who took wool or vintage items there and they were wrecked too. Wish I had read those before my grandparents vintage quilt was wrecked! DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY! ---original review in Feb: Used this company in the past and they did a good job. I made the mistake of bringing a vintage quilt to them. A few days later, they said it was not ready due to stains they were still trying to get out and so they were giving it a 2nd cleaning. I went to pick it up and the clerk said "did anyone call you about it" no I said. I took it home, in the bag it felt about 30% lighter. Fuzz was flying off of it when I opened the bag in the store to take a peek. So they knew they damaged it, but no one had the decency to call and tell me. I took it completely out of the cleaning bag today and it is wrecked! I cannot believe that after the cleaning tech started cleaning that they did not stop and return it to me and not proceed any further. You can see that all the cleaning they did ripped the slight weak tears into giant tears and the feathers in some sections are 100% gone! That is why there was "fuzz", it was the missing feathers coming out of the bag. This quilt belonged to my grandparents. DO NOT TAKE PRECIOUS ITEMS TO THEM! They did not charge me for the "cleaning" I will be seeking a payment for the damage they did to it. How are they still in business! I had a successful small claims suit against a different company several years ago-it may be time ago to pursue that route.

I dropped off my Italian silk designer wedding dress, worth $6,000, to ATX dry cleaning for my…read moremid-August wedding. I told the owner, Roi, that I was getting married in Canada and asked if they could pack my dress for travel. My dress came back bustled and ready to go. On a whim, I decided to undo the bustle and try on my dress one last time before flying out. When I opened my dress, I immediately started crying. It was ruined, and, even worse, somebody had tried to conceal the damage by bustling the dress and folding it up. The sleeves were burnt and crumpled (See pictures), and the dress itself was warped and puckered. The interior looked like it had been fried in bleach. My beautiful Italian silk dress had been ruined by ATX dry cleaning, and, rather than come clean with what had happened, somebody had tried to conceal the damage, so that I wouldn't realize what had happened to my dress until I got to my wedding. I told Roi that the dress looked like it had been damaged by chemicals, but he dismissed my concerns, saying dry cleaning is always done using chemicals. It was only after I went to two experts, my tailor and another dry cleaner, who both confirmed that the dress seemed ruined beyond repair, that he took me seriously. At this point, he admitted to outsourcing the dress, but said whomever he had outsourced it to did not even know who cleaned my dress because nobody had owned up to it. This other company (Roi never told me the name) spent the next couple of weeks attempting to restore my dress, and the entire time Roi kept saying that he felt as bad as I did that my wedding dress was ruined, and not to worry about the financials--he was going to make it right. They gave me my dress back the day before I left. The silk was partially restored, but the interior of my dress was still completely fried, and the dress's silhouette was permanently ruined. Since I had no other choice, I wore this dress for my wedding. When I returned, Roi changed his tune very quickly. He said that insurance would only cover $250 because I wore the dress for my wedding and they'd partially restored it. Worse still, he used things I'd said against me. Like, I told him nobody seemed to notice that the dress was ruined (because who would tell a bride that a dress they'd never seen before looked damaged?), and he later threw that comment in my face to suggest that I shouldn't be compensated properly for the damage. When I balked at his offer, he whined about how he couldn't do more financially and even badgered me for not appreciating how hard he'd worked to fix my dress. Again and again, he made it more about his hard work and his trouble than about my wedding dress and wedding, and he seemed incredulous that I expected to be compensated for what he'd done. I kept reminding him that any efforts to *fix* my dress would not have been necessary, had my dress not been ruined in the first place, but talking to Roi was like talking to a cranky infant. He made clear that he would not go out of pocket for the damage. It was such a nightmare. In the end, he gave me back not even a third of what I put into this dress, and he tried to get me to sign a document promising confidentiality. I refused, even knowing that I could lose the pittance he'd offered, because I never want any other bride to go through the nightmare Roi and his team put me through. Whatever you think you will save with ATX dry cleaning, it isn't worth it. Go to a real dry cleaner. If you want your clothing to be returned to you undamaged, avoid ATX dry cleaning like the plague.
