We had Righteous 'Que cater my 40th birthday. It was probably the best experience I've ever had with a catering request. On time, set it all up, served our guests, cleaned up, etc. The barbecue pork and chicken was fantastic. Chicken was especially tender and delicious. I haven't been here since Covid so it's been a while. The BBQ is still great but some issues with the menu and other things. They no longer have bottles of BBQ sauce out for the tables. They give you little containers of the type you think you may like. I like to try them all and sometimes mix them up. Maybe that's just me but always a turn off for me. The menu has changed and no longer have combo dinners. You can make your own combo of meats but then the sides are all ala Carte. I like the old way better. The thing that reallly bothered me were the French fries. They served shoe strings thinner than McDonald's and the small was a smaller portion then you get for a small at McDonald's for 3.95 I expected a better fry from a place like this. A nice steak fry or something better than a tiny order of shoestring. The other sides were huge. The max and cheese and coke slaw. Don't understand why so skimpy on the fries. Coke slaw had no flavor and dry. Very little cole slaw sauce on it. I don't want to pick too much because the main reason for going was the excellent bbq but it was much better before they expanded. read more

Aborted the first attempt because they were out of all meats except chicken. On this second attempt they were out of chicken. The coworker who originally recommended this restaurant also acknowledged he'd heard others with the same complaint so you might want to call before making a long drive. We got the sampler and they substituted ribs for the chicken. By far the best meat was the brisket which was full of flavor, moist, and tender. The ribs were okay, and the pulled pork didn't have any smokey goodness. For sides we had mac-n-cheese, cole slaw, and Texas toast. The toast had a nice seasoning dusted on it and complimented the plate. The cole slaw was also good and a generous serving (not too watery, not too vinegary, and a nice neutral flavor to counterpoint the BBQ sauces). The mac-n-cheese was very original with lots of cheese and flavors, including a tang and texture that I was conflicted over (bleu, feta, roquefort . . . I couldn't pin it down). It's breaded crust was excellent and if it hadn't been for that one weird ingredient I would have been won over. Both sauces were top notch with one option being the best Alabama white sauce I've tasted (but no horseradish if you're expecting that ingredient). The do NOT offer french fries and we were told that was because the owner doesn't like them. Nor pickles, which is traditional for some BBQ variants. I would think the menu would be driven by the people who buy and eat the food. Consequently, as there are better and closer BBQ options, I'd only return if I had a brisket-specific craving because the many misses in contrast to a few hits. read more

My husband is a huge fan of BBQ and would eat it for breakfast if he could, whereas I have to be in the mood for it. But when I am in the mood and it's some good BBQ, man, does it hit the spot. Que's absolutely hits the spot. We picked up some to go for dinner on a cold Saturday evening and even though the food had cooled off a little by the time we got home, it was still some of the best BBQ I've ever had. My pulled pork was flavorful and the potato salad was just creamy and vinegar-y enough. The mac and cheese was a little on the greasy side (some butter was pooled up in the corner after I plowed my way through it) but it was still delicious. I also liked that they included two containers of their BBQ sauce. Everything my husband ordered was also very tasty. The brisket had great flavor and a bit of a rub. It was a leetle too fatty but the meaty bites were thick and tender. We didn't wait long - placed our order and they chopped up the meat, got the sides ready and someone rang us up. This barbecue restaurant is located in the piedmont shopping area, right next to the Publix shopping center. Parking: so many parkings available. We came here around 7, and they close at 8. They were out of pork, no pulled pork or ribs. The restaurant was small with like 7 tables in. You order at the counter and they bring out your order. All food was prepared before and put on a warmer. Since it was late, my chicken sandwich was a bit dry, prime ribs was dry too. The two sides we got, mac&cheese and green beans were great. They have three sauces, white sauce, barbecue and hot&hot. The service was fabulous. We may choose a better time to come back so we could try more things. read more

The food was amazing and the staff is very friendly. It seems to be a small mom & pop shop and I didn't ask but I assume its a family run business. The meat is very tender and tasty, it is really good BBQ. I will definitely go back. I had a loaded sweet potato with lean brisket (they ask if you want you meat lean or fatty which is great). My husband had ribs (just removed from the smoker), collard greens and mac & cheese - everything was tasty. I'm a regular here, so had to update my review based on my most recent experiences. It's typically a hit, but there have been a few misses which prompted me to remove a star. I always order the beef brisket plate. Recently, the selection has been extremely dry and sparse. The flavor is still there, but tough to eat. It doesn't fall apart as easily as it did and I'm finding I have to add more sauce to compensate. Also, not all the sides have been available. I've had to re-think what I want, but it's never what I craved. Even items like the baked sweet potato, which I'd think is a staple.... All and all it's still a solid place, but more recently has been a little inconsistent. Not sure if due to staffing or something, but hopefully it picks back up. I'd recommend requesting a "fattier" cut of meat or even calling ahead before you make the drive to make sure the food is available. read more

Yes! A thousand times yes! Stopped in around 5pm on a Friday hoping I would be able to grab a quick bite before an event in the area. Doesn't look that special from the outside,in a strip with small inconspicuous signage. The place is quaint and cute. Seemed clean and well maintained. I chose a pork sandwich with one side for $7.50 (before tax). The guys who got my order together and rung me up were quick and polite. As for my food WOW the meat was delicious and easily the most tender BBQ I have ever had! I tried both sauces and they we're great but I preferred the traditional brown sauce for my sandwich. Now the mac and cheese was just as life changing. A little greasy as one review already mentioned but the oil simply slid down to the bottom of my plate and the flavor was so good I could care less. Keep is simple stupid. They did a great job with this. 4 meats including my favorite Brisket! Smoked on the premises. All meals include a drink which is nice. Brand new so the inside is very clean and decorated better than most BBQ places. The smoker is in the back and you can tell they always have something cooking in it. When I checked it out it almost made me hungry again! Super friendly staff. Had the owner guy come by and ask for feedback since they had just opened. The star was the sauce. It was sweet but had a really nice heat. Perfect for beef. I think they are adding a vinegar based one but I am not a fan of that style. And they keep mini teeth flossers and wet naps so you can continue your day in comforts. Nice addition to the area and the logo is adorable. read more

So it's Memorial Day and my work fatigue lead me to decide to spend the day on the couch rather than make the trip to my parent's house which promised a delicious bbq meal. We ran an errand that encouraged us to actually leave the house and bbq was the meal we wanted. I hopped on Yelp and found a place near our errand location that got quite a few stars. I hit the Google directions button and we were on our way! We arrived to a small, unassuming place in a strip mall, and I was immediately optimistic. When the guy behind the counter asked me which part of the brisket I wanted while showing me this delicious looking piece of meat, my optimism turned to joyful optimism. I ordered a brisket sandwich and baked beans. My boyfriend ordered a pork sandwich, mac and cheese and collard greens. When I took a bite of the brisket, my joy turned to excitement as the brisket melted in my mouth. My boyfriend had a similar experience when he bit into his pork. The entire meal was tasty. The meat was tender and flavorful, the baked beans were rich but not too sweet, the collard greens were oh so tasty and the mac and cheese was also good. Friendly staff greeted us as we entered, then as we went to order at the register, we were told to order at the counter and they'd "listen real good." The fried okra was indeed cooked to order, but arrived at our table 3/4ths through our meal despite being promised in five minutes. Sandwiches are served on greasy buns. The brisket was tough, though the pulled pork was serviceable. Everything is under-seasoned, including sauces, and the collard greens were from the day before at least, as even thick stems were complete mush. The huge dining space was practically empty at noon, for good reason. They'd do well to find a smaller location and benefit from the perception of scarcity if they can get their act together food-wise. So disappointing! read more

My local, go-to BBQ place, and it's a good one. I usually get the brisket combo with two sides. The meat is flavorful and juicy, well seasoned. It hits the craving when you're thinking "I want some good BBQ!" You have the option of two sauces. I prefer the red over the white. The red has more of a tomato-tang to it. But honestly, you don't -need- either one because the meat can stand on its own. There are several typical side options, but I always get the potato salad (great), and the green beans (well, they're good for being green beans). You get this combo for $13, but unfortunately, it doesn't come with a drink. It's a hair bit pricey, but the portions are quite generous. You can usually get two meals out of it. I've also had their banana pudding ($3), and it solid enough. It's sweet and rich, without going overboard. Apparently there are some gripes about the consistency. I've been there 3-4 times in this calendar year already, and the food has been of the same standard each visit. I'm not saying it's mindblowingly amazing, but it's solid enough to keep me going back. Service is prompt, the employees are kind, and the whole ordering and checkout process is pretty streamlined. I avoid the lunch rush, but even during down times, there's always a handful of people in there enjoying some good food. The inside decor is... let's go with eclectic. It's small and cozy, but clean and well lit with natural lighting. It's located in a strip mall with Publix. Ample parking available. Overall, if you're in the mood for some good 'ol barbeque, Righteous Que is gonna hit the spot. Bonus for me is that I barely have to go 5 minutes to get some. read more

Edited: The BBQ was better than average. The mac and cheese was good, but it was extra greasy (see my pic). The white sauce was really good. I tried one of the other sauces too and it was great. My original review included a complaint about the canned soda price. I was notified that they give free refills on their drinks for the high price of a can. Who knew?? I'm going to leave my 3 stars because I still think it's about average, or slightly better than average. I wish I could give them a 3.5, but thats not an option for Yelp. I was happy to see the owner contact me about my first review. That shows me he/she cares about their business and is involved in its sucess. Give them a try and tell me what you think.
