We had Righteous 'Que cater my 40th birthday. It was probably the best experience I've ever had with a catering request. On time, set it all up, served our guests, cleaned up, etc. The barbecue pork and chicken was fantastic. Chicken was especially tender and delicious. Aborted the first attempt because they were out of all meats except chicken. On this second attempt they were out of chicken. The coworker who originally recommended this restaurant also acknowledged he'd heard others with the same complaint so you might want to call before making a long drive. We got the sampler and they substituted ribs for the chicken. By far the best meat was the brisket which was full of flavor, moist, and tender. The ribs were okay, and the pulled pork didn't have any smokey goodness. For sides we had mac-n-cheese, cole slaw, and Texas toast. The toast had a nice seasoning dusted on it and complimented the plate. The cole slaw was also good and a generous serving (not too watery, not too vinegary, and a nice neutral flavor to counterpoint the BBQ sauces). The mac-n-cheese was very original with lots of cheese and flavors, including a tang and texture that I was conflicted over (bleu, feta, roquefort . . . I couldn't pin it down). It's breaded crust was excellent and if it hadn't been for that one weird ingredient I would have been won over. Both sauces were top notch with one option being the best Alabama white sauce I've tasted (but no horseradish if you're expecting that ingredient). The do NOT offer french fries and we were told that was because the owner doesn't like them. Nor pickles, which is traditional for some BBQ variants. I would think the menu would be driven by the people who buy and eat the food. Consequently, as there are better and closer BBQ options, I'd only return if I had a brisket-specific craving because the many misses in contrast to a few hits. read more

My husband is a huge fan of BBQ and would eat it for breakfast if he could, whereas I have to be in the mood for it. But when I am in the mood and it's some good BBQ, man, does it hit the spot. Que's absolutely hits the spot. We picked up some to go for dinner on a cold Saturday evening and even though the food had cooled off a little by the time we got home, it was still some of the best BBQ I've ever had. My pulled pork was flavorful and the potato salad was just creamy and vinegar-y enough. The mac and cheese was a little on the greasy side (some butter was pooled up in the corner after I plowed my way through it) but it was still delicious. I also liked that they included two containers of their BBQ sauce. Everything my husband ordered was also very tasty. The brisket had great flavor and a bit of a rub. It was a leetle too fatty but the meaty bites were thick and tender. We didn't wait long - placed our order and they chopped up the meat, got the sides ready and someone rang us up. This barbecue restaurant is located in the piedmont shopping area, right next to the Publix shopping center. Parking: so many parkings available. We came here around 7, and they close at 8. They were out of pork, no pulled pork or ribs. The restaurant was small with like 7 tables in. You order at the counter and they bring out your order. All food was prepared before and put on a warmer. Since it was late, my chicken sandwich was a bit dry, prime ribs was dry too. The two sides we got, mac&cheese and green beans were great. They have three sauces, white sauce, barbecue and hot&hot. The service was fabulous. We may choose a better time to come back so we could try more things. read more

The food was amazing and the staff is very friendly. It seems to be a small mom & pop shop and I didn't ask but I assume its a family run business. The meat is very tender and tasty, it is really good BBQ. I will definitely go back. I had a loaded sweet potato with lean brisket (they ask if you want you meat lean or fatty which is great). My husband had ribs (just removed from the smoker), collard greens and mac & cheese - everything was tasty. So it's Memorial Day and my work fatigue lead me to decide to spend the day on the couch rather than make the trip to my parent's house which promised a delicious bbq meal. We ran an errand that encouraged us to actually leave the house and bbq was the meal we wanted. I hopped on Yelp and found a place near our errand location that got quite a few stars. I hit the Google directions button and we were on our way! We arrived to a small, unassuming place in a strip mall, and I was immediately optimistic. When the guy behind the counter asked me which part of the brisket I wanted while showing me this delicious looking piece of meat, my optimism turned to joyful optimism. I ordered a brisket sandwich and baked beans. My boyfriend ordered a pork sandwich, mac and cheese and collard greens. When I took a bite of the brisket, my joy turned to excitement as the brisket melted in my mouth. My boyfriend had a similar experience when he bit into his pork. The entire meal was tasty. The meat was tender and flavorful, the baked beans were rich but not too sweet, the collard greens were oh so tasty and the mac and cheese was also good. I'm a regular here, so had to update my review based on my most recent experiences. It's typically a hit, but there have been a few misses which prompted me to remove a star. I always order the beef brisket plate. Recently, the selection has been extremely dry and sparse. The flavor is still there, but tough to eat. It doesn't fall apart as easily as it did and I'm finding I have to add more sauce to compensate. Also, not all the sides have been available. I've had to re-think what I want, but it's never what I craved. Even items like the baked sweet potato, which I'd think is a staple.... All and all it's still a solid place, but more recently has been a little inconsistent. Not sure if due to staffing or something, but hopefully it picks back up. I'd recommend requesting a "fattier" cut of meat or even calling ahead before you make the drive to make sure the food is available. read more

Yes! A thousand times yes! Stopped in around 5pm on a Friday hoping I would be able to grab a quick bite before an event in the area. Doesn't look that special from the outside,in a strip with small inconspicuous signage. The place is quaint and cute. Seemed clean and well maintained. I chose a pork sandwich with one side for $7.50 (before tax). The guys who got my order together and rung me up were quick and polite. As for my food WOW the meat was delicious and easily the most tender BBQ I have ever had! I tried both sauces and they we're great but I preferred the traditional brown sauce for my sandwich. Now the mac and cheese was just as life changing. A little greasy as one review already mentioned but the oil simply slid down to the bottom of my plate and the flavor was so good I could care less. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Righteous 'Que's food was mediocre at best and the service was no better. My husband & I decided to give this place a try after seeing so many positive Yelp reviews, but we were far from impressed. When we ordered, I asked what meat was better, "pork or brisket?" The young man's response was, "The brisket is more expensive." From a family of business owners, many being successful restaurants, I can tell you THAT is not the response that should be ever given. Randomly pick one or something before just saying that one is more expensive. After deciding on the brisket (AKA the "more expensive one"), I ordered a plate with two sides: green beans and mac and cheese. While my husband ordered a brisket plate with mac and cheese and baked beans. After eating, we decided the baked beans were the only item were really better than average. Yet, they still weren't anything special. The brisket was tender, but other than that, it was just average warmed up meat. The mac and cheese was cold, and again, average at best. While the green beans were far from good. They had a weird taste that was hard to pinpoint. Needless to say, they were left uneaten. Food, overall, just was far from impressive. There were three workers; the high schooler that needed a lesson on sales, a college aged boy on his phone, and a college girl that apologized to another customer over and over for the meat being tender (even though that's typically how people like it?). Again coming from a family of business owners, none were very conversational. They talked among each other when serving the customers, rather than interacting with the customers. Were in the back area talking when we left, with no "Bye! or Thanks for coming!" I am all about supporting local businesses, and I would have been willing to go back and try other menu items. This is my favorite place for barbecue these days! Even before COVID they were always willing to walk my order out to the car because I am disabled and usually had my toddler grandson with me. The brisket is seriously the best around. The chicken and pork are great too. I love the way they cut the chicken for service. When I take it home it is so versatile. I use it for sandwiches with that killer white sauce, I make quesadilla with it and serve it on a salad or a baked potatoes. Their sides are great too. Keep is simple stupid. They did a great job with this. 4 meats including my favorite Brisket! Smoked on the premises. All meals include a drink which is nice. Brand new so the inside is very clean and decorated better than most BBQ places. The smoker is in the back and you can tell they always have something cooking in it. When I checked it out it almost made me hungry again! Super friendly staff. Had the owner guy come by and ask for feedback since they had just opened. The star was the sauce. It was sweet but had a really nice heat. Perfect for beef. I think they are adding a vinegar based one but I am not a fan of that style. They have excellent sides across the board for the most part and good banana pudding for desert that is reasonably priced. I have tried to eat at this barbeque joint several times with no luck. The past 2 times they were out of ribs. Once on Memorial Day weekend and then the 4th of July. Their were at least 6 employed behind the counter and no one took my order for 15 minutes because they trying to settle a check. Once they asked what I would like, they let me know, NO RIBS!
