I was required to pay a $500 deposit to have my mechanic check out the car before buying (not their SOP) - which was interesting because it is a mechanic that they use one mile up the street AND while shopping for a car this was the only dealership that required a deposit, and man what a turn off. One of the worst experiences of my life with this worthless, waste of space dealer. I was the only person on the lot for about 20 minutes before I actually had to go into the office and announce my presence. The guy who was hiding in the back office begrudgingly came out and first made fun of the car I was driving and insulted my daughter's intelligence. Real class act. I drive a POS to these lots to find out if they will work with me or if they just want to gouge. BTW, I make a 6 figure salary - and if I go driving my convertible Camaro, the sales guys nearly trip over themselves to be my best pal. Total fakes. This guy - who looks like the dude on the left from their ads - wouldn't let me test drive the car before he pressed me into his crummy office to talk price. I can read the sticker dude - I know what you are asking. He started throwing 'out the door' prices at me before I even was sure I was interested in the car. I just wanted to test drive it to be sure I like it and then talk price - you know - like every other car dealership on the planet? Needless to say I told the guy I wasn't interested in talking price and he said he didn't want to waste his time. He obviously thought I was too poor to work with him. Well, so long sale! I'm on the fence with these guys, in referring them that is. I do want to mention that I did eventually buy a car from them and the car has ran fine. I had the vehicle for about 4 months. And on top of it Steve did make things better before our sale was closed. Here is what bothers me or here is my story in dealing with Steve and this business. When I first got there I walked around their lot for awhile checking out the cars. I eventually found a car that seemed decent but after walking around for about 30 minutes no one came out., not even to say get lost. It's pretty much a one man or the most a two man operation there so if they are busy, you'll just have to wait your turn or come back another day like I did. When it came time to talk about closing the deal, Steve's pretty quick putting you through the process and not really explaining in detail, so you have to stop him constantly along the way. One other odd thing was he never really looks you in the eyes when he's talking. It was a weekend, we did the credit check dance, told me he'd call me back during the week when the banks are open. One bank turns me down because the miles are too high on the vehicle. The other was a credit union that gave me a 3.0 interest. Moving on, during our weekend discussion about the car there were some items I wanted checked, the shaky front suspension, air bag light, front headlight, trunk opening issues. So he says my guy will look at it and I'll get back to you Tuesday (his mechanic works onsite). Well for one reason or another his guy is not getting to it, 2 weeks of constantly emailing and checking if the car was read and "I'm getting a little frustrated and now really doubting this". Finally Steve calls and leaves a message to says the car is ready and proceeds to tell me about all of the additional costs for fixing the car issues. Funny thing is that WE never talked about me spending additional money on car repairs, when buying the car and it's original price... hmmm??? In the same phone message he tells me how he's already PREApproved with the credit union to accept the additional costs for the repairs. WTF?? I didn't tell him to or approve that.... I call Steve and explained my disapproval of this and how shady it was, I had let him know I can go anywhere with the credit ratting and cash down anywhere than his place. Steve wants to get surly with me over the phone but eventually.. says let me talk to my Brother. He calls back later and says we'll sell you the car at the original price we talked about. I get there to finalize the deal and Steve was super nice, cordial and followed through on the latter of what he said. I bought the car at original price we talked about, case closed. I wish I didn't have to go through all of that, but in the end we made the deal work. I don't know that I would go back, certainly I much wiser on how they operate. read more

And proceeded to say i "dont let mechanics on my lot". He is really trying to take advantage of people his mechanic was very good and agreeed with the issues we had found. The oqner wasmt happy because the customer was looking at around 2000 to fix the issues that he doesnt wanna fix for someone. We got a settlement from a car accident for our "kid car" and decided to try and split one settlement into two cars. More freedom for the two kid drivers that way. But have you ever gone car shopping on a $4,000 budget? Yeah, right at the edge of yucky jalopy! We began exploring online and decided that a private seller stranger was not a good option. We had a recommendation of a used dealer from a friend. It was OK but not impressed with the lot or choices. One reference online was for a Hyndai Accent at Right Choice Automotive. Great, I thought, another little unknown dealer. If the place was even slightly run down, I was not going to stop. We found the lot, building and work area clean and well cared for. We stopped. Aubrey was very low pressure, listened to what we wanted and showed us the Accent. It needed work on a few minor things which he said would be fixed. Impressed with the car compared to others at a similar price, we met Steve to put down a deposit. While doing that, Aubrey pointed out a one-owner Camry that might fill our second car need. It was a babied beauty from 1998 that looked two-years old. We put a deposit on that one too. Two days later we picked up both cars, happy with our purchase and fully expecting the cars to last a couple of years. Easy sales process, great reconditioning by the mechanic and everything as promised. I spent a couple of days shopping at different dealerships and experienced high pressure sales tactics, along with bait and switch from the big dealerships.... what a nightmare! As a single woman, shopping for a car is stressful, and these dealerships just make it worse and make it difficult to trust them or any other car salesperson, much less make me want to purchase from them. So... my experience with Right Choice was SO different from the other dealerships! I was treated with respect and no high pressure. I went into this dealer ship interested in purchasing a new vehicle. I was willing to negotiate and excited to finally visit a "good dealership" based on the positive yelp reviews. Those reviews must be from friends of the family, because "Steve" was one of the most unfriendly, disrespectful salesman I've encountered. He speaks as if you are completely incompetent and far from his level. He was not available when I first arrived, and when he finally did get to me, brushed off any questions having to do with the vehicle's maintenance or accident history. The "car facts" he provides do not match the prices seen online at KBB. His offer also includes a $350 "document fee" used to boost their profit after reeling you in with the low prices seen in their lot. After declining my offer at the dealer he called me back and said he wanted to discuss it further after I had already returned home.
