    Wild Alaskan Salmon*

Came here with coworkers after a conference. Very vibey, great service, cool spot for a nice meal. Can't remember the server's name but he was very friendly and helpful and attentive to our group. We tried a bunch of apps: fish dip, oysters, bread, and calamari. Calamari was probably my favorite- I just wish I could've had more! Fish dip was great as well- again, just wish there was more bread served with it to enjoy it all! I don't love oysters typically, but these were clearly high quality. I ordered the salmon since we're in Seattle! the fish itself was great. The rest of the plate was kinda funky to me: a few chips, some beans, and interesting sauce (not sure what it was). Aside from the salmon, I didn't enjoy the flavors of the dish. Might be my fault, I didn't really read the details on the menu; I just saw salmon and called it good. Oh well! Still had a great time. I'd maybe order a different entree next time.

This restaurant is located right on the ground floor of Hotel Theodore, which makes it super convenient if you're staying there. We decided to stop by right after checking in since their happy hour was going on, and glad we did! We sat at the bar where Ben, the bartender, took great care of us. He was attentive, full of recommendations, and even shared a few local tips on what to do around town. The restaurant has that open-kitchen concept, which adds a nice lively touch. Their happy hour runs daily from 2 PM - 6 PM, and here's what we tried: Smoked Salmon Fish Dip with Sourdough Bread - absolutely delicious! Smoky, savory, with just the right amount. Oysters on the Half Shell - fresh and local, can't go wrong there. Manhattan - my boyfriend's drink of choice. Paloma - my pick, refreshing and well-made. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. I even managed to get some work done while enjoying my drink. I chatted with a friendly local sitting next to me who gave more nightlife recommendations (Seattle folks are seriously the nicest!). Overall, Rider is a great place to unwind, enjoy good food and drinks, and soak in that welcoming Seattle vibe, especially convenient if you're a guest at the hotel.

Went for simple PNW fare tonight. Wood grilled wild salmon. This place absolutely nailed it from presentation to accouterments (fresh salad and excellent fingerling potatoes). The salmon was a center cut and easily seasoned with salt and pepper. Perfect whisper of wood smoke and the skin was perfectly crisp. It was medium rare and perfectly flakey. CeCe who is usually the hostess (tonight she stepped into serving) helped ensure my dinner order beat the rush when they opened the kitchen at 4p - professional, personable and very efficient. Absolutely delicious and healthy dinner right here off Pine St in Seattle!

I feel like hotel restaurants easily fly under the radar in Seattle, which is a bummer, because so many are hidden gems - and that's truly the case for Rider! Ambiance here is definitely a little more on the classy side, but not so classy that you wouldn't be able to stop in spontaneously while not dressed up a ton. Service is awesome. All of the waiters and bartenders are personable and nice. Our table of four tried a few things that were all delicious! The Smoked Fish Dip is unique but worth the try. So yummy! The Hamachi Crudo is also a perfect bite and tasted sooo fresh. Highly recommend if you're a seafood fan! For my entree I went with the Rigatoncini. Immmmmeddiatteee yes. If you're craving pasta, this is THE dish. It's an amazingly flavorful lamb bolognese with ricotta and ARTICHOKES. I'm a huge artichoke girly so this was such a treat to have in the dish. I saw that they also have a weekend brunch that includes mimosa flights, so I'm gonna have to make a point to visit them again to explore that menu!

Amazing small bites for a late meal! The waiter was quick and friendly!! The Ambiance was classy and timeless and had great music! We ordered tempura cauliflower and calamari! Great presentation of the small bites, the tempura cauliflower was by far the best!! We also had drinks at the bar the next day which was epic! I had the BABA YAGA and the CHUPACABRA, my husband had a beer! Overall great experience in the Hotel Theodore where we were staying!!!

We stopped at Rider during a lunch break. The clam chowder was incredible--creamy, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. Our server was super knowledgeable (and a little chatty, in a good way), which added to the experience. The rest of the menu didn't really speak to me, but I'm glad I found this hidden gem for the chowder alone. Worth the stop if you're nearby and craving something comforting.

This review is for the Thanksgiving dinner (buffet). We went at 6pm to make sure we wouldn't be stuck with bottom-of-pan options. Turkey was drier than dry. Ham was good but only accompaniment for it was mustard. Wish the stuffing/dressing wasn't wet clumpy grains with big chunks of squash and pork sausage. Texture was off-putting. Squash ravioli with sausage ragu was an odd combo IMO, why not offer it with a butter sage sauce or something lighter to offset the heavy foods. Sweet potatoes were ok, but the stuffing had sweet potatoes and ravioli also tasted like sweet potatoes. It was yam overkill. There was NO gelato cart as listed on the menu. We had to ask an employee about it and they let us know they weren't able to get a cart but they do have gelato in the kitchen. The staff was nice about it and got us a bowl of chocolate gelato.Pumpkin pies were very wet. The mini dessert option was lacking and not labeled well. (Green-dusted profiteroles were not matcha or pistachio, just light chocolate mousse, mini cakes/petit fours was one flavor, etc) The brussels sprouts were good with some confit turkey leg and green bean casserole was decent. Overall I did not feel like the food quality was worth the price, especially when cocktails are averaging $20. $450 for 3 to eat buffet with 2 glasses of wine/2 mocktails/soda. And we ended up needing to get dessert elsewhere because no one could eat the desserts except for 1 gelato scoop.

Came here to enjoy a quick meal before a Saturday night performance of The Lion King. It was quite busy but I was able to get a seat at the bar. The staff were friendly but not quick. I enjoyed a quick cocktail (Madame Lou) which was pretty good. I also enjoyed the coconut Tanu ceviche. it came with plantain chips. Not the best option to enjoy with raw tuna because they break so easily and they are slim and the chunk of tuna were quite large. Everything tasted fresh though. It was loud and the atmosphere was confusing. Is this a nice relaxing place or a sports bar? Prices say the former.

Ambiance is very nice! Maybe romantic however very smoky due to the wood fire oven. Service is friendly Prices are high. This place is expensive There is also an automatic 20% service charged (gratuity). It's 50/50 you'll see that at restaurants in Seattle.

We had reservations to have dinner before a show at the Paramount. It is nicely appointed nearby within walking distance. The atmosphere gave industrial subway speakeasy vibes. The staff wore blacksmithing leather aprons which gave a certain attitude of frisky and classy. The craft cocktails were delicious and we had some good food. I had the cutest presentation for my autumn squash soup in a pumpkin pot. It was flavorful and well seasoned. Additionally, my friend ordered the salmon and stated the skin was crispy without overcooking the salmon which was tender and juicy. The whipped potatoes with roasted garlic wete decadent and the roasted carrots perfectly cooked. A lot of options for vegetarians in a steak and seafood restaurant. The lamb ragu pasta got a 3/5 rating, not much lamb in the mix as advertised. We enjoyed our wine that we brought with us and the corkage fee was $35. The bartender Ben stepped in while our server was busy and opened and decanted our wine. The staffing level could have been better and we had a few ordering mistakes that were graciously repaired. I will definitely return here for some fries and martinis at minimum at the bar after a show. Perfect nightcap location since they are open late.

My friend and I decided to hit this place up before a Seahawks game on a Sunday. The server was very attentive and super knowledgeable when we asked for a suggestion on the menu! We loved the restaurant atmosphere, very upscale and fancy but not stuffy, especially for the location. The flight of mimosas is fantastic, my friend and I got one to share. I also love the food, will be coming here again on the way to my next football game!

Nice Seattle restaurant attached to the Roosevelt hotel. Stopped in for some late night bites after bowling. Broiled oysters were a hit with our group and the Parmesan and herb fries were good. The Caesar salad was huge with lots of Parmesan. Service was a little slow but it was late night. Cool vibe and great ambiance. Open fire kitchen so you can see what's going on behind the scenes. Definitely a place I would come back for an earlier dining experience.

We looked for a new to us restaurant to try on New Years Eve and decided on Rider. We were seated a little after our reservation time, we loved the ambiance. You get to wait in the hotel lobby until you are seated. We started with Kiss Me Deadly, Penn Cove Mussels & Clams, and Pumpkin soup. I loved my drink, Kiss Me Deadly. The Penn Cove Mussels & Clams were great, the broth was so flavorful, the toast with it was perfect to dunk in the broth. The Pumpkin soup was okay, it wasn't hot when we got it. We then got the Rigatoncini, and Whole bone-in Rainbow Trout. I loved the Rigatoncini, the lamb bolognese was great, loved the whipped ricotta on top. We got the Rainbow Trout with chimichurri sauce. We would have liked a little more seasoning on the fish itself, the fish was very fresh. For dessert we got Chocolate crunch mousse cake. It was amazing, the best end to our meal.

So when I woke up still craving shellfish, RockCreek was the call. It was the right one. A dozen oysters to start: Kumamoto and Shigoku. Clean -- no grit, no sand. Whatever they're doing back there, it's working. The brine was full and present in every shell, and the mignonette hit that rare sweet spot of light but actually seasoned. The Winter Old Fashioned? Get it. It was so delicious. Then came the crab Benedict. The side salad alone was worth writing home about -- big, buttery, peppery leaves draped in one of those feather-light vinaigrettes that sounds simple until you try to replicate it at home and realize you can't. But the real star of the entire plate was the potatoes. Crispy outside, genuinely fluffy inside, seasoned with conviction. A masterpiece is not too strong a word. Closed with a glass of pink wine. Was eyeing the bottle with the piglet on the label, but it was bottle-only -- a distinction I find increasingly arbitrary as a former server and bartender. One day that policy will be a relic. Not yet, apparently. Best brunch I've had in Seattle in two years. Highly recommend.

We ordered some of our go-tos -- hamachi crudo, tuna tartare, and calamari -- and everything was spot on. The vinegar dill fries are exceptional: thin, super crispy, and loaded with seasoning (honestly hard to stop eating). We also tried the loaded fish sandwich and the cornmeal-battered lingcod -- both solid choices. Spicy margarita lived up to its name with a nice kick. It was pretty dead when we arrived around 5pm, with only one other larger table seated, which made for a relaxed, easygoing happy hour. Always a dependable spot when you're craving seafood done right.

Upon walking in, we noticed the server was pretty quick to take the initiative to push a couple high tops together since most of the tables only sat 2. (Didn't think I needed to ask after mentioning a severe allergy) He just stepped away and looked like he was trying to find out from someone in the kitchen. He came back shortly after and gave us our options. We ordered a few different things to share, oysters, the fish dip and mussels tostada. The vibe we got was that he did not enjoy serving us because we had a child with us and I seem to be asking him too many questions. That is the impression he left with us. I will say the oysters were very fresh and enjoyable. We also got the crab Mac n cheese which was cheesy and tasty. We asked him for some more chips since we ran out quickly for the smoked oyster dip. He seemed annoyed but got us more. I could overhear that he sounded more pleasant with the other guests surrounding us. The mussels tostada flavors were nice but I didn't love the texture of them which is totally just my preference. He dropped off the check shortly after and noticed there was a 18% gratuity which I found out is standard for downtown Seattle. Being in the industry I do think it's a courtesy to mention it when dropping off the check to a guest. On another note, I did think the seafood tank in the center was cool because you could see all the geoduck and oysters they were offering. Overall, I think we wanted to enjoy our experience more but the servers attitude and demeanor towards us was off putting and we just tried to eat quickly and leave. Don't think we'll return to this location.
