This place is perfect if you're trying to listen to live music and have a couple beers. Personally, I would recommend a bar hop starting at sloppy Joe's, and "dip your toe in the water" there. If things ain't poppin, jump over to Dirty Harrys/Rick's. You can't go wrong. Personally loved the band and music choice over at Rick's/ Dirty Harry's more than sloppy Joe's. Rock music with an awesome live band, The Durt Bags, downstairs with Jagermeister paraphernalia everywhere. Hip hop and pop music played upstairs on a fairly decent sized dance floor. There's a daiquiri bar with delicious frozen drinks. Even a wine and margarita bar! You also get access to the strip club, if you're into that kind of thing... My friends and I visited Rick's every night for our Spring Break vacation. There's a nice balcony overlooking the rest of Duval Street. Some, if not MOST ,of my best Key West memories stem from this place. It has been there FOREVER! I have visited during different stages in my life, with different people and we always have an amazing time. There are varied areas playing both live music and DJ. Drinks are well priced and there are several different places to sit- the funnest one being the stools that face Duval. The later it gets, the more interesting it gets. The same goes for the steep steps you have to climb to get to the club. People watching those nearing 4am is priceless as people "attempt" to leave the club. A MUST stop when in Key West if you want to DANCE the night away (like I always do)! read more

I can't properly rate this bar since this was a stop on a pub crawl. I felt bad for the single bartender when 30 thirsty pub crawlers showed up ready to drink. The rating is for the drink provided which is available for everyone at any time. Overly sugary with what seemed very little alcohol content. I would likely come back just to enjoy the dance floor upstairs but not for the specialty drink. So my advice... if you like a sweet tart, order the Caribbean breeze. Awesome service. My bf and I look young for our age, so we haven't always had the best experience at bars down here. Some bartenders have been flat out disrespectful and have ignored us when there was clearly no one else at the bar, but the guy we had here was great. Attentive and friendly, but didn't linger around us. The juices in our drinks were fresh squeezed, which was probably my favorite part. My husband LOVES Durty Harrys not for the food, or the the drinks but the live music is great. Go and see the Durt Bags. Live band that plays rad music that you can dance too. If you buy the band a shot of jagermeister they will play anything you request (within reason). We have had a few memorable nights here! read more

Racism exists well here. Some girl get touched inappropriately, I say relax bud. He turns around and says a few things I ignore. His friend come around from the side and pushes me and says, "what are you going to do Muhammed". I notify the bouncers that I will let accept this, and I want this group out. They talk to the guy for 2-3 minutes and tell him say sorry and stay at the place. I say his sorry does not change his ideology and I want him out. The guys sticks up the middle fingers up at me at this point. Bouncer says accept his apology or leave. I happily left. Bouncer says a few things to me at the door and I say this is not right, I was excused for standing up for what is right. As someone that is visiting from New York, I can say I will never return to this place that's allows open bigotry. I have never experienced such a thing in my life. No body was here before us or after us so they will probably be out of business in less than a year like gas monkey so I have nothing to worry about. Good Rum Punches! Its outdoors so if you were looking feel the hot summer sun while drinking an ice cold rum punch, this is the place for you. If you melt in the hot humid weather, you might need to go elsewhere. The bartender was sweet as pie and the decor is awesome. Take advantage of the fountain in the back. Rude doorman syndrome. The guy working the door on a Saturday night when we visited needs to find another job. We saw him being rude to people for absolutely no reason. He drives away business. Review for the upstairs dance bar: Great for tourists ( if you're into old, overplayed non-dance music at a dance bar) awful for locals. DJ usually is sitting at a chair with the same playlist they play every night: Despicito, followed by Glass Monkey, followed by some overplayed 90s song every drunk girl knows every word to because it came out the year of her first prom. Old overplayed hip hop song that's extremely difficult to dance to. Repeat. If you actually come from a state/country where there are high energy dance clubs and that's what you're expecting you will be disappointed. Or DJs that can mix songs together smoothy. (Mind you there is one DJ that does nice transitions but I think he is a special guest). If you came here because it's a bachelorette party/it's your 20th marriage anniversary/you're looking for a raunchy place to shake your ass to a song you might-kind-of-know-but-haven't-heard-in-forever then this is your place.
