This is my first time in Key West and after my experience it ruined the whole day. I Ordered one of the frozen vodka lemonades. Something was off with the drink it didn't taste right so I kindly asked if I could exchange it for something else and the bartender said not really, so I said OK could I just get a refund for it and she yanked my drink, made a different drink for me and threw it at me on the table. It was dead in there maybe three other people so if it was busy, I understand being frustrated . I also did politely ask for a Band-Aid I split my my finger is open. I tried to apologize multiple times because I also work in the service industry. She wouldn't look at me and started talking under her breath how she "hates this f******* place and all the f******* people right in front of me for me to hear it." When she finally calm down I apologize again and said I'm sorry I understand I work in customer service so I know people can be frustrating. She said the manager is really hard on me and that was it. I still tipped even though I shouldn't have the way she threw the drink at me on the table. read more

My friend got his bag of souvenirs stolen by the security guard when we had our back turned. When we noticed it was missing, we asked the nearest security guard and he told us we could pay him to get it back. Absolutely disgusting read more

This place was crazy busy on Saturday night but the crew there did a great job. The entertainer was fantastic! Politically incorrect is an understatement. I almost hate to post this because the elites will find him and shut him down. He's a brave man. I'm tempted to cancel my flight tomorrow just to see him again. read more

This place is kind of small inside, but does have quite a few tables. My main issue here is the music level is so loud, you cant hear people speak, even with a solo acoustic act. That made it hard to endure more than a few songs. read more

The karaoke here is awesome! My friend and I wanted to find a karaoke bar here and stumbled upon ricks where we spent most of our evening. It was a great spot and the drinks were decently priced. We had a great time and definitely will be returning. read more

Rick's is the place to be in Key West. It has several different establishments you can go to all in one place for one really low cover (I think it was $10). First off they have a dance club, a tiki bar on a patio to chill, a bar with a live band, a karaoke bar and a sealed off strip club. I did some dancing at the dance club and went downstairs to check out a live band. The band was great, and the drinks were priced well. I wish I could give this place its justice with words, but if you're an avid club goer like me, and you see a place like this with all of these possibilities, you're in clubbing heaven. read more

Great bar. Classic key west staple. Due to COVID-19- it's one in one out and you must have a table. This actually makes things more enjoyable and it is less packed. At around 9pm the line can get quite long but it's worth it with the live band DurtBags. You can request songs via Venmo, and they do an incredible job of playing everything from Lizzo to Blink 182. If you're from one of the U.S. territories (Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, Saipan) be sure you bring your passport or a second ID because security does not recognize U.S. territories despite the fact that your photo is on the ID as well as you DOB. When asked to speak to the manager, the guard says "I'm not going to waste my time" eventually the manager came , checked my ID and let me in. Maybe that individual was having a bad night but I felt like he was on some sort of power trip. I do live in Key West, I have not had the chance to obtain a Florida license but no other bar or establishment has ever had an issue with my Saipan ID. Everyone else was pretty professional and friendly but that security either needs to be re-trained or fired because I was not the only person he was giving a hard time to. read more

Walked in with 11 PEOPLE ready to have fun and buy plenty of drinks and food! The bartender with a long black/grey ponytail and an undercut immediately made it clear he was in no mood for the bar to be thriving with business and made a few rude and vulgar comments. We walked STRAIGHT out of there as he clearly did not want our business. What a poor business move to have that guy as the bartender!!! He looked SO angry and was irritated and swearing at our group. I was having a great time. The drinks and bartenders are very knowledgeable and extremely welcoming. I was enjoying myself, until I saw a baby strapped into a baby sling. On his fathers chest. The father was wearing a cowboy hat. I was disgusted when I saw a NEWBORN attached to his dad at 1 am in the morning on a Saturday night. The little boy was so tired he was asleep the entire time. As if this hasn't been the first time this mans taken his baby to a bar later than midnight. Why does the owner have to say about this!???? Karaoke is great. Service is AWFUL. Stay away from Rita/ Mel. When I asked for her name she rolled her eyes and said she would go get her manager. Obviously that wasn't her first rodeo. Got different accounts of her name because she lied about it after she screamed at myself and others in my party. The manager said, "Sorry, she's crazy." Umm what. The bouncers are extremely rude. My friends and I went Saturday night and were told that one of our friends had a fake id. Being of age, celebrating college graduation this was very upsetting. My friend showed her expired id and a copy of her birth certificate. The bouncer said he will call the cops, and "play this game". He didn't end up because he knew it was real. Ricks is this huge restaurant , bar with different sections. There's a restaurant , 2-3 bar areas and a spot with live music. What I love about this location is the fact that each spot brings a different vibe and it's only 10 steps away from each other. The music don't intertwine. They have happy hour drink specials and just a wide variety of drinks in general. Great place to go with a group of friends , it's right on Duval street in the middle of everything. I remember Rick's from my college days as a place where people make a lot of bad decisions. Good to know 10 years later that this is still the case. My husband and I had a really fun night at Rick's. Fortunately, we were less wasted than most of the people in here and we had a really great time people watching. There was a guy playing cover songs and people were getting CRAY up in there. Came to Key West on vacation. Ricks was my favorite bar on the strip. Great live music, nice bartenders, fun, casual atmosphere. The upstairs opens late night which gives off a different vibe with a DJ and more dancing. Great place overall. Appeals to everyone. read more

After a long day of drinking, we continued our way down the strip and into Rick's Bar. The bouncer told us it was a $5 cover or $10 for all you can drink. Ummm, here's $20 (in case I want seconds). Inside was a cool, divey bar, with live music going. (Also, did I get pizza somewhere here before walking in?). We made our way to bar and had the bartender serve us up 4 of his finest well whiskey and cokes. The service after that wasn't anything great, but I'm sure the bartender got sick of us ordering every 5 minutes. Also, an important fact: This bar is a couple doors down from a strip club, so if you have a psycho girlfriend who GPS tracks your phone while you are out (which we all know GPS is not always exact)...she might pin you in the wrong place and go off on you. Of the crappy Spring Break-style bars littering the north central part of Duval, I've always liked this one best. It's just straight-up live music featuring rock covers without a lot of stupid BS...many of these Key West performers think they are a lot funnier than they really are, but for the most part, the "Durtbags" just shut up and crank out the rock covers. I appreciate that. Like most of the dives in this area, the scent of long-stale fizzy yellow beer and cigarette smoke permeates the air. And again, like the aforementioned, your enjoyment of bars like this is probably directly proportional to your level of inebriation. I've never had any wish to get that drunk by my own design - but the music is still enjoyable enough for me to be able to hang out here in a general state of sobriety, without wanting to kill everyone in the bar. It's tolerable, and that's a win in my book....so whenever I'm in Key West with people who want to "party," I tend to take them here. read more

Stopped by after my (now) husband and I, plus some friends left another bar after our wedding reception. We were all just sitting eating pizza and got treated like SHIT. Two male "security guards" obviously full of themselves kicked our friend out after asking about a couple of drinks, then yelled at us about cleaning up our trash while STILL EATING at the table. Chill out guys. I'm not a tourist at ALL, and you treat customers like crap. I can only imagine what someone would think if they were treated like this their first time in Key West.
