    Charity bingo night!
    Alicia H.

Had a great time at charity bingo last monday! Bring cash and get there early! Bingo started at 7p and by 615p there were no available seats. It's pretty tricky to play bingo standing up lol. Every round of bingo there were either gift card or liquor bottle prizes, plus there were some free jello shots in the mix too! Liked that this dive bar was more of a local vibe than other places in key west (although I wouldn't consider the drinks a bargain). A local recommended the root beer barrel signature shot and it was def tasty!

A classic dive bar, except they have 20 beers on tap at $8.25 a pint. They have a juke box but I couldn't tell if it was operable. Mostly tourists but a few locals also hang out here. Service is okay. 3% fee to use a credit card.

My favorite of the KW "tourist bars"Fast friendly service. Great atmosphere, live music afternoon/evenings. Didn't dine.

We stopped in for some cold drinks after a long bike ride. You can tell this is a favorite spot. The staff was super friendly and helpful, there's popcorn machines in the back, good tunes playing and a jovial atmosphere. They were open on Christmas Day and no one seemed to mind spending it together away from home. We had some beers and lemonade to cool ourselves down before continuing on. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place and we'll come back.

Meh. Lackluster. Maybe I went too early. Drink was decent. Inside was clean, but overall, nothing to get hard about. Service was fast enough, but deadpan. They have free popcorn. Glad I checked it off my list, but not sure what the hype is about.

Awesome bar to visit on a Friday and Saturday night when Key West is hopping. We stopped in on our pub crawl last night and had an absolute blast. There was a 9-member Reggae Band called the Resolvers playing and they were amazing, and got everyone dancing. The bar staff were friendly and it only took a minute or two to get a drink. There was never a backup at the bar. They also have a popcorn machine here the dispenses fresh popcorn at the push of a button, what more can a bunch of drunkards ask for? All-in-all, a great spot to party in Key West and I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area

I did not have any food here so take that into account when reading this review! A drink of beer and the "Root Beer Barrel Shot, a Green Parrot tradition for over 20 years. Drop a shot of root beer schnapps into a highball glass of light beer and toss it back." Well, I cheated and didn't knock that one back, but I still drank it. Does that count? All while enjoying the popcorn from the self-service machine. Our large group had the bonus of a local telling us about the wooden parrot that was supposedly washed ashore from no one knows where. Don't dream too much about it -- it was x-rayed for contraband before being installed here. There is an image on the wall here with the original in the Louvre Museum. Can you guess which one? It is near the Mona Lisa in the museum and I assume the original is there as opposed to here -- yes, that's a joke. The only other hint is that it is NOT in any of the photos I posted to Yelp.

Green Parrot is hoping! It's not a dive bar but it's not updated either. They have a rectangle bar on the left that you can go all around. Just beyond that is a stage area. In total it's not that big but people were packed in-- it was that weekend! They had maybe 12 drafts, several more than most bars in the area! The doors were open and they have a couple stools outside. We grabbed some next to giant open windows. You could put your drink on the window sill. The music was so loud, even being outside and partly blocked by the wall. I have no idea how people were 5 feet from the band. Very fun place.

Just off Duval Street in Key West, FL. Not a commercial bar at all. Crazy long pour cocktails and tasty rum runners. No cover charge and Great live music. The crowd is the usual laid back Key West vibe. Worth it to check them out when visiting Key West.

A friend told us we have to visit the iconic Green Parrot when we got to Key West. It must have some history or lore or something. It was a pleasant, somewhat divey bar (and that's a good thing for us; we're into that). We had a beer and sat outside on a very busy street watching the traffic and tourists go by. Lots of chickens in the area that certainly know how to cross the street. They used the crosswalks and knew how to avoid cars. Chickens are smart! I guess you have to be when you live in a resort town where it's illegal to get fed. At least it's also illegal to harass or harm them. We heard they are there because they're descendants of the cockfighting era. When that became illegal, all the chickens were let loose to fend for themselves. They looked OK, not scrawny or sick, so they're getting water and nutrition from somewhere. I visited the Green Parrot gift shop, but nothing grabbed my attention, so after a short visit we moved on.

    Sunday Funday at Green Parrot!

Great spot to listen to live music on a Sunday Funday! $5 cabs of Miller Lites and free popcorn.

Root beer barrel shot. It's good and much better than I expected.

They also have a merch area with hoodies, stickers, and other souvenirs if you want to take a little piece of the experience home. And knowing it's one of the oldest bars in the Keys just adds to the charm and history of the place. The service was quick, you walk up to the bar and order then find a place to sit. Super chill and laid back. One fun thing you have to try is tossing a quarter into the fish's mouth outside... test your luck and see if you can land it! Can't forget the drinks! The rum punch is to die for... super refreshing and perfect for the Key West heat. Overall, such a fun stop if you're in town. Definitely worth checking out! Fun fact: - it used to be a morgue and ice house back in the day. it also used to be the original home of Sloppy Joes, before they moved to Duvall St.
