Highly recommend James and his team! Had an issue with a 4yr old unit due to a poor install by the builder's hvac company 4 yrs ago. Initial quote from another company seemed extremely high, so I reached out to several folks on yelp and online for additional quotes. James was quick to respond, thorough and great to communicate with. His company had excellent reviewed on both yelp and BBB as well and his quote was half that of the other company. He had the parts in inventory and was able to schedule the repairs quickly and around my busy work schedule. Great communication thru the entire process, including scheduling. Richmond's Air provided polite and professional service, but our contractor texted us shortly before his scheduled arrival time to tell us he'd be 30 minutes late. He ended up being 45 minutes late - and as this was an estimate for a house we're trying to buy, our visit to the property was under a time restriction of 45 minutes total. We ended up waiting on the street for 30 minutes for him to arrive, and then wasted a further 15 minutes after that. We weren't offered a discount or any compensation for the late arrival time, so I can't honestly recommend this service. read more

I had high expectations based on Richmond's 4.8 star review. James and his team did not meet my expectations, they EXCEEDED them. James quoted me for a new AC/heater, insulation, air purifier and an additional return air installation. He told me about Centerpoint's offer when a 2 phase unit is purchased as well as tax breaks for a new unit and insulation. That shows he cares about his customers beyond the install. I have 2 sky lights that emit a lot of heat and he recommended that I have those insulated to help with the living room heat. He recommended putting in new LED lights for my old recessed living room lights as they were not insulated and put out more heat. When I asked him if that was included in his quote he said no but if I bought the lights on Amazon he would have his team install them. His crew was on time the morning of the install. They were also friendly and answered any questions I had through out the day as this was a 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. install. I was impressed that one of his guys came to me and suggested that I move a vent from my small pantry to my utility room that had no supply air and was always warm because of my water heater. They have a special deal "tune-up" with Center Point at no cost to you -AWESOME!!!! Richmond's Air will be my go-to company for all my HVAC needs. We had a pre-home sale inspection and the inspector noted a few issues with the recently Richmond's Air service. The inspection cover one 1 unit had only 1 screw replaced and then tape used to cover the edge. These screws not only close the panel they are part of the AC unit suspension support system. There were other conditioned air leaks that either a part of their service or should have been noted for resolution. I am sorry to say they will not be my go-to contractor. I was so impressed with everything that they would be doing including new piping, new wiring, new pans and pads and even putting in ionizers and surge protectors that I made the decision to go with Richmond's. Mr Richmond sent 8 people out who worked in my home for about 6 hours to complete this work. 1. Service - I dealt with James, the owner, at the beginning for a free estimate. He came by on the same day that I've reached out to him and provided us a quote for their service. We've communicated via Yelp Messenger prior to his arrival, and he was very responsive. His timeliness is outstanding when your system is not working properly and you need a few quotes from vendors. A team led by Alex worked on my condenser replacement. They were quick and thorough. They informed me on what they were going to do each step of the way. I appreciated their communication with me. I dealt with Dylan twice. He came on day 1 with James to provide Freon to the condenser, and a 2nd time to check on another A/C unit. I was expecting to pay Dylan for his 2nd visit, but he believes that we didn't have any issues with our unit. Only that the condenser was a little clogged. Everyone was pretty friendly and honest. It was a pleasure to work with James and his entire team. 2. Price - I feel that their prices are fair and reasonable. I don't feel like they were trying to scam us like we felt with other companies. This is what it should be like, and I'm glad that we found Richmond's Air. James was willing to work with us as far as payment plans. 3. Quality - I got my drip pan and evaporator coil replaced, and freon refilled. The work looks amazing, and my A/C system is running like new in this hot summer heat. I had one room that was always hot, and James was able to identify that I had a flapper that was semi-closed. His experience shows. 4. Process - I like how Yelp has a feature that allows you to search for various vendors via Yelp and even get quotes from them via Yelp Messaging. It's similar to using Thumbtack or Angi's List. I also love that Yelp stamp businesses with "Verified Licenses" and another stamp for "Yelp Guaranteed". Yelp protects you up to $2,500 for Property damage, Projects not up to par, and Hidden Costs. This speaks volume that Yelp trust this company. James quickly identified the issue we were having and was able to provide a quote on the same day. He made the process easy and enjoyable. 5. Cleanliness - These guys rolled out tarps and carpets from the front door all the way up to the attic to keep my house clean. I didn't expect that. May I add that James took his shoes off when he came over my house for a quote on the first day. I respect that he noticed to do so without me asking. After the team finished with the job, one technician came back into the house to vacuum the floor from the front door all way up to the attic. They did however forget to check the attic space. I had to clean up after them up there. There was trash (old A/C tape and packaging) left around, and insulation everywhere. Besides that, they were very thoughtful in trying to keep their customer's house nice and tidy. SUMMARY - This company is honest, thoughtful, and professional. When I turned on my heater, I smelled gas. Turned it off immediately and called Richmond's AC the following morning. Jason was at my house a few hours later. He shared the bad news that the heater installed when I built my home in 2001 needed to be replaced. No surprise. I definitely got my money's worth.
