This is a hidden gem. I have passed by this street multiple times and never noticed the donut shop until recently. It shares the same lot as credit union so it can be easily missed. It's a family owned donut shop. They have eclectic flavors like biscoff, strawberries and cream, creme brulee donuts. They do monthly changes it looks like. We got a few simple donuts and they were fresh, not too oily, and a fit for our sweet cravings that day. Don't miss out on this little gem. Follow their instagram to see their menu offerings. They also have breaks fast sandwiches. read more

Richards Donuts - Mixture of donuts we took home. Donut holes, apple fritter, and creme brule donuts - Donuts Near Me - Carmichael, California

Absolutely obsessed with this donut . The texture was perfectly fluffy, the cream filling was smooth and not overly heavy and the topping added the perfect touch. It's almost too pretty to eat. If you love indulgent desserts, this is a must try. The staff was warm and friendly, and helpful with recommendations. It's always nice finding a place we're both food and service are consistently great. I would definitely be back again. read more

Great local donut shop owned by a nice local family! Not only were our donuts excellent, but they were kind enough to let us use some of their parking space for a little car meetup! Great food and fun! Check them out if you're in the area! read more

These donuts were so good -- fluffy inside, lightly crisp outside, and full of flavor. You can tell they make everything fresh. The staff was friendly and provided great customer service, which made the visit even better. I'd definitely get them again. read more

Apple fritter review #37 Glaze: not too much glaze, and crunchy enough. Four stars Outside: while the outer edges are made crunchy by the glaze, the rest of it is soggy. Two stars Inside: too wet, no wonder it's soggy. Might be undercooked. Two stars Filling: at least this one has actual apple pieces, some places are lacking on their filling. Some of the pieces even have skin, I like that. The flavor is good. Three stars. I have to give two stars, it is soggy and that makes it a bit unpleasant to eat. read more

The BEST donuts I've had!! So delicious and the staff is so friendly! Highly recommend this donut shop! Donuts so good I didn't have time to take a photo! read more

I'm normally not a big fan of cake donuts but my sister had brought some home from here. Oh man it was so good. Most cake donuts I've tried were super heavy and so thick. Theirs was so soft and light and fluffy and delicious. There was a little crunch to which I really liked and you can tell it was fresh. Highly recommend this place. Can't wait to try more of their donuts. read more

You can always count on fresh donuts here! Their blueberry donuts are my favorite. I'm usually pretty picky about sprinkle donuts, but theirs are so soft and melt in your mouth. The owners are incredibly friendly, and the shop is always neat and clean. read more

I was at the clinic nearby and stopped by for a quick breakfast. Surprisingly, there was a large number of doughnuts left. It was great having some time to myself. The place is a little run-down, but the doughnut was delicious, so I didn't really focus on the rest. There are places to sit down and tables, which is great. read more

Great donuts! Fresh and extremely reasonably priced! 10/10 would fight you for one. Go support this local business!

Hands-down, the best apple fritter I've ever had in my life! They only take cash or Cash app and I think Zelle so be prepared! This place is so good!!!! read more

They have the best donuts in Carmichael. They are always fresh, light and airy. Not heavy & doughy like other places.

This is an old fashion donut shop. I love it. Cash only but an ATM conveniently located next to the entrance.

Always Fresh and great friendly customer service. Prices are comparable to others. Great variety. read more

Donuts were great. Customer service on the other hand was not. The young woman working the counter was rude when I mentioned it was hot inside, and she made a smart ass comment about the weather. Not too happy with Dicks Donuts. read more

Way too greasy. Had a cinnamon toll that tasted like oil and sugar. Not worth it. Would not try again.

Cash only is a terrible idea. Also no way in hell they are fresh. I went in at 6 am should be smelling fresh baked donuts but there was nothing recently made in this shop. They weren't bad donuts just mediocre and definitely not just made. The prices were good though so I guess it evened out. read more

Nasty glazed donuts. Amazes me how a place that only sells one thing can consistently screw it up so bad and make such poor donuts read more

I've come to this shop a few times over the years and every time I'm disappointed. It's unfortunate because I like to support local business. Today the donuts were definitely not fresh. The one I had was so crunchy it must have been at least two days old. I was shorted two donuts out of the dozen I ordered. I was really disappointed too because the one donut I had selected for myself was one of the ones that was le Update: we decided to try Richard's again to see if it was improved. 9am Sun and no donut holes? This time we encountered a rude woman with no patience for 9 yr olds trying to select a dozen donuts. read more

The donut selection here is only ok and the inside is neat, however, it is very old, not the cleanest and the walls could stand a new coat of paint. The window blinds are at an angle and dirty and look like they're never attended to. I always look at the little things and its very run down inside. We got here at 10:30am on a weekday and it was obvious we were too late for any type of selection. Grabbed a few donuts for work and tried them in the car. A bit 'doughy' and sweet..I took them to work for some coworkers to try and they didn't think much of them either. You'll get better if you head a few blocks away on Madison to Sweet Dozen or up the street to Bel Air Market. read more

Y'all! these donuts are amazing!! Don't let the run down exterior deter you. We have some great donut shops in the area, But I was on my way to Buck Family Automotive and wanted to pick up some donuts as a present for the technicians and Richard's was the closest to my driving route so I dropped on in. They have a beautiful assortment of donuts, my personal favorites are their maples, their jelly-filled, and their glazed. Not too sweet and overpowering, but they still satisfy that sweet tooth. When i went by they had "cash only" on their door and the few times I've gone by they had so prepare yourself with some cash. But everything is clean, and cheap, and yummy! read more

Came here early on mother's day, i think around 8am, to get a dozen donuts. My first time stopping by and there were lots to choose from. I bought a variety, but my favorite was the maple old fashioned. Their maple has good flavor so pretty much everything I had with maple glaze on it was yummy. The chocolate they use was also tasty. It had more cocoa or chocolate flavor than other places I've been too, which made it slightly bitter(think dark chocolate) and delicious. A line formed soon after I arrived so I'm glad I was there early. Everything was fresh and delicious. This will definitely be my go to donut shop since I just moved to Carmichael and have been trying to get acquainted with all the small businesses around me. The only odd thing was they dont use a machine to fill their custard/filled donuts. They slice them in half like a hamburger and put the custard in the middle. Most places I've been to use a machine to inject the filling right inside so it was different. Still delicious, but I think if they injected it they could fit more custard inside. Four stars because the donuts were delicious but I wasn't blown away by anything or anyone in particular. read more

I had never gotten donuts from here until today. My friend woke up craving donuts haha. We got filled ones (fruit and custard), apple fritter, twists, glazed and sprinkle cake donuts for my niece and nephew The donuts were really good. Definitely a go to when the donut urge strikes again. read more

I have come here a few times in the morning and Richard's Donut has a pretty decent selection, they are always fresh, the lady in the front is very polite. The prices are very reasonable, however they only accept cash only and I had to take 1 star for that minor hicup. read more

Favorite place for donuts! Make sure to get there early to get the freshest selection, kind of silly to give them a negative review about not having fresh donuts if you don't get there early... Anyways, they're super nice and will sometimes give a free extra donut if you go there regularly and will spot you if you are short on change. It can be frustrating that they don't take card at all, but it's understandable if you understand how much it costs to have those machines and the charges per swipe, especially now with the new chipped cards. They are less expensive than most other donut shops, and offer a much better variety. Highly recommend!! read more
