They have powdered donuts! I came from Natomas to get their powdered donuts. My coworker brought in a dozen donuts once and he told me he got them from Donut Fair. I called in to make sure they had them and unfortunately they only had 3 by the time I got there. I blame my idiot husband for calling to see if they had them and then hanging up rudely before placing an order for me. The two ladies working behind the counter were so sweet! They actually take the cake donuts and powder them for you when you get there. I also ordered two other cake donuts and some chocolate glazed as well. The donuts were amazing, nothing like the premade grocery kind. I highly recommend if you love powdered or even cake donuts like I do. I came here around 11:30 so alot of the items were sold out but they had a great selection and tons of drinks. We stopped by this donut shop because I was craving donuts. I ordered a raspberry-filled and a glazed donut, and my partner ordered his two donuts. After paying and tipping, we started to walk out, but I asked my partner to double-check the bag to ensure all four donuts were there. We realized one donut, the glazed, was missing. I looked back and saw a single donut bag on the counter, so I went to grab it, thinking it was ours. The cashier immediately yelled, "That's not yours," multiple times at me and then yelled to the employee who had taken our order. When he came over, I explained we were missing the glazed donut. He said he had only charged for three donuts. I told him the glazed donut had been missed. He then added it to the order and rang me up again. There was no apology for the confusion or the way the situation was handled. The interaction left me feeling disrespected, and it completely ruined my appetite. I have been coming here off and on for 40 years and have never been disappointed with the donuts. The buttermilk bars are phenomenal and the maple bars and glazed donuts are the best around. The service isn't always perfect, but I cut them some slack for having run this business everyday for decades while starting their workday when many of us are just going to bed. They're obviously doing something right. Some of these negative reviews are so petty, I felt compelled to leave my own. My family and I used to visit them for donuts every Saturday after my daughter's swim class since they are located next door to Little Whale Swim School. We had decided to pick up donuts a couple of weekends ago at around 9/10 AM and when we arrived they were almost sold out! I know that donut shops open early, but I also know that Donut Fair is pretty popular so I wasn't very surprised! I actually felt bad for the people who came in after me when it was my turn and I needed to order 2 dozen donuts, but first come, first served, right? I got a craving for something sweet and naughty, and I decided on a donut. Based on Yelp reviews I wanted to give Donut Fair a whirl. The shop itself is in a run-down looking little strip mall. However, the interior of the store is clean, and the little lady who helped me was very friendly. Since I went in the afternoon around 2pm, the selection was less than normal (I am sure because they open at 5am). Anyway, I didn't hold this against them. What they did have to offer was some cherry turnovers, chocolate bars, maple bars, donut holes, and a few apple fritters among other things. The fritters were calling my name, so I purchased one of them and a container of milk. All I can say is WOW! There was a subtle crunch with each bite, and then the dreamy apple goodness just melted in my mouth. YUM! I used to come here at least once a week but moved away and hadn't been in at least 3 years. I'm In town and was excited to come here after so long. I had my golden retriever puppy with me who I wasn't going to leave in the hot car so I carried her in my arms like anyone would a baby and was yelled at the second I walked up to the counter. This place runs out of donuts at least 2 hours before close and struugled to experience one until today. Walked in and there was only 3 donuts left and 2.05 minutes left before close. I just bought one large fritter and surely enough 3 minutes later a person bought the last 2. Every five minutes afterwards people were told' "no more donuts" I could see the sadness in their faces. So why is this place so great? When I took a bite of the fritter, I was truly in donut heaven. Crispy on the outside and moist inside, the flavors of apples and butter rushed into my mouth. All I can think about is how wonderful the flavors are but worried if I will get a Heart attack.
