Baker's Donuts is THE SHIT. I genuinely miss living in Sacramento because we used to get up in the morning and come here for donuts all the time. The maple bacon donut was always the one. So good that my partner at the time became obsessed with it and actually requested one of Baker's GIANT donuts for her birthday. I swear I have never seen anyone happier to receive a birthday donut in my life. That should tell you everything you need to know about how good these donuts are. It's been a while since I've lived in Sacramento, but Baker's is one of those places I still think about and absolutely have to visit whenever I'm back in town. This little whole in the wall donut shop is as old school as it gets. Funny enough they are next to a Krispy Creme and hands down I would choose to come here instead. They have plenty of donuts freshly baked and milk and other drinks. You can go in store or drive through and we have actually door dashed them in the pastZ Our favorites are the apple fritters and old fashion maple and glazed donuts as well as their huge cinnamon roll. I enjoy these hefty hearty solid donuts with a tall glass of ice cold milk every time. Dropped by with my brother to try their specialty cronuts and was not disappointed! This small local business offers a great variety of unique cronuts along with friendly, attentive service. The lady at the counter was very patient since it was our first visit and took the time to name and explain all the donuts on display. For cronuts, we ordered the pumpkin spice, red velvet, maple bacon, and cinnamon sugar. We also picked up a maple bar and a glazed donut from their regular donut selection (displayed in the back of the shop). In true donut-shop fashion, our helper even threw in a few donut holes. Everything was fantastic, but the pumpkin spice cronut was our favorite. It was well-spiced and topped with a cream cheese frosting that wasn't overly sweet, making it perfectly balanced. Each cronut was flaky, with the flavors standing out nicely. The maple bar and glazed donut were also very solid choices. I love Baker's Donuts on Florin Road! It's always a fantastic experience coming here. The service is amazing, everyone is so kind, and SuzIE is seriously the sweetest. She makes the best Vietnamese/Thai coffee (not totally sure which one--but it's one of those and it's incredible). The donuts are always fresh, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. Another huge bonus? Small donut shop that's been around for years. I came back because I remembered their Kronuts being popular around 2015-2016. I ordered three donuts and was given a handful of complimentary donut holes. Total came out to $22, which felt overpriced for the quality. The Kronut (circled drizzle) was dense but decent. I haven't had Kronuts elsewhere to compare, so for what it was, it delivered a solid experience. The large glazed donut was the highlight--moist, soft, great balance of sweetness and texture, even after reheating the next day. It cost $6 but was the only item that felt worth it. The square donut with brown drizzle (Reese's Pieces flavor) was dry, lacked flavor, and had a basic Reese's filling inside. The complimentary donut holes tasted old and stale, which probably explains why they were free. We also got a bottle of milk with the order. It was super thick and creamy--better suited for coffee than drinking straight. If you plan to get milk here, I'd go with with 2% for a smoother, more drinkable option for myself next time I go here. Service was impressive in a hustle kind of way. Actively pushing donuts and upselling with a lot of energy, which you don't always see at small shops like this. Overall, it's a typical hole-in-the-wall spot in South Sacramento. Unfortunately there weren't any when I went, since I got a box of donuts from a too good to go order. It was a variety of about 6/7 donuts. There was 1 giant glaze, a couple normal sized glaze, and a couple other random cereal topped donuts. Good for typical donuts. Baker's Donuts is a locally owned donut shop in the heart of South Sac. I grew up in this area and it is usually busy with cars in the parking lot and the drive thru. It has stood when many businesses have come and gone, and 2 corporate donut shops moved in close by (Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts). I came by planning to buy a Baker's Dozen. There was no cars in the parking lot. So, I knew I could grab what I wanted and go (options). The woman at the counter was very cold and had a sour attitude. This was a first I ever encountered this at this shop. I've been coming here since middle school. She didn't greet me, and when I said "Hi, how are you?".... She gave a very rude "fine". Never made eye contact. Turned off by the attitude, I decided to grab 1 donut (a mighty tasty fruity pebbles topped donut), pay, and left. I'm all for supporting a local business. Especially one that has been around as long as Baker's Donuts. I'm very disappointed by the service. I'm really sad to say, I won't be coming back to this shop ever. Bakers has a reputation in Sacramento. They're not cheap that's for sure. But as you can see they're specialty. It's the closest we have here to any gourmet doughnuts besides Bad Bakers. Even the holes are more expensive than a typical store. The customer service is busy so no comment there really. It's popular all day every day but the line isn't too long because doughnuts are premade. Their coffee isn't the best but that's not important. I just wish the non specialty doughnuts were a little more reasonably priced. And the specialty ones are about $5 these days which seems a little much. read more

LOVEEEEEE Bakers Donuts ! I come once a month super early to get donuts for my meetings but I have loved this place for years. They have the sweetest staff members who make my mornings when I drive through. I always use the drive thru and although they're quite busy in the mornings, I never have to wait long, even when I order 2 dozen assorted. My absolute favorite donut is the blueberry muffin. I could eat a dozen of those all myself. It's off of Florin road so there's tons of traffic and they open at 4:00 AM which is great for me. They also have coffee and some breakfast items. Ok so hear me out. There is something about the perfect donut. And I get that the definition will differ for everyone. My idea? A maple old-fashioned from Bakers. Why? I dunno, but I think it has something to do with the surface area and maple coverage. Like the entire outside is crispy and covered in the best maple. This is one of those good, old school donut shops. It has all the classics AND some of the newer donuts that have cereal, bacon, cookies and other stuff piled on top. ANNND to the left of the case they have like Frankenstein creations. Like enormous glazed donuts. Monstrous chocolate covered croissants. Best of all?
