I used to love coming here as it is the closest donut shop to my residence. However, that was before it was sold to a business owner who has employed their family in customer service positions and has no desire nor ability to coach their employees to provide better service. The gentleman who is always there seems intoxicated and has no business working in customer service. He says strange things and is extremely forgetful - in fact, the same day I stopped coming here, a man with his family had a confrontation with him. The worker's behavior always very off - not a personality thing, but appears to be a sobriety issue. In the aforementioned man's confrontation, the worker forgot multiple items and wouldn't make it right until the man brought it up, showed his receipt, and made the worker calculate the items which were bought - after the worker gave the man what he was owed, the worker failed to acknowledge their mistake and simply looked at the man with a blank stare. I had a similar issue and called the manager, who wasn't even on site. However, I didn't notice I was missing items until I drove home. The manager wouldn't even say "sorry about that" they simply said they would talk to the staff and that I should go back to pick up the items THEY failed to provide. I went back, and the same gentleman with the inconsistent, non-sober appearing behavior said he didn't hear anything from his manager and I had to call the manager AGAIN. If it isn't the poor behavior from the dude working there, the chick in the back with the sour attitude also fails every box of customer service. I'll never return. This was a great place when the original owner was running the show, now it's just bad. read more

YES!! A new donut favorite!! I was CRAVING donuts on Sunday morning, but it was 10am - kind of late in donut speak. I found this shop on Yelp and skidded my car into the strip mall! It's easy to find right on the corner with Sunrise and Old Auburn. Lots of up front parking. The employee was helpful and kind. The donuts were plentiful and DELICIOUS! We got six donuts for just over $10. Each one was fluffy, fresh and yummy. I'll be stopping here again since I drive right by every day on my way to work. Psyched for a new place! read more

Very fresh and fluffy doughnuts. Tried a classic chocolate old fashioned, and a very fancy strawberry cream filled powdered. Amazing flavor combination, the whipped cream is not very sweet, the strawberries are a little zingy and the doughnut itself is light and fluffy. The powdered sugar makes it perfectly sweet and not over done. My husband went and picked up the order, this has become a go-to location for him. Quick service, in and out fast. I ordered 2 apple fritters and 1 dozen donut holes from this establishment to be delivered by grubhub around noon on a Sunday. This place is a mile and a half from my house. My order got delayed. I did leave a $5 tip for the driver. When it finally arrived there were only donut holes. No apple fritters. I contacted grubhub and apparently my fritters were canceled and refunded. No substitution was offered instead. Was very disappointed. I really wanted the apple fritters. The donut holes delivery totaled $15 for $4 worth of donut holes. Lesson learned. The donut holes were delicious, but not the apple fritters I really wanted. I wouldn't order from this place to be delivered again, of which delivery is 75% of the food ordering I do. If they didn't have anymore apple fritters at noon on a Sunday...I probably won't go there in person. Too bad. read more

Their donuts taste better then the Donut Kings donuts and they also have breakfast sandwiches and little lollipops on their counter for the kids. This donut shop is a small family-run business, and seems to be extremely popular with the locals from the surrounding neighborhood. Since it is in the same parking lot as one of my favorite laundromats, I've stopped by here a few times now, and have always found it to be packed (primarily with older men reading newspapers or playing games). The staff is super friendly and hard working. Every time I've come in, I've seen them running around like crazy, making sure to take care of every customer as quickly as possible. I've only ever ordered a donut or two, and they are not my favorite donuts of all time, but they are pretty good. They are just basic, classic American donuts-- nothing fancy or artisan (although I have to disagree with another reviewer's assertion that artisan donuts are "weird fancy shit"). So far, I believe I've tried the donut holes, sprinkle donuts, a jelly-filled donut, and a cream-filled donut. These donuts remind me of the donuts my dad would have ordered from our local donut shop when I was a little girl (because my mom would have had fancier taste). They taste like basic, classic 1989 corner donut shop donuts. If you like classic, consistent, cheap, clean chains, then you are sure to like this donut shop. read more

I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience and got hurt at the Master Donuts in Citrus Heights! See attached photo! Right from the start, we noticed the floors were extremely slippery, so we informed Dee, the Owner, who was there. She told us that she had just mopped. A few minutes later, I slipped on the floor and fell hard right in front of her while approaching the register. I hurt my leg in the fall and was completely shocked that I was now lying on their wet floor! And then... no one did ANYTHING! I was looking up in disbelief at the lack of concern from the Owner! Dee didn't offer any assistance, show any concern, or even ask me if I was okay! Instead, she simply continued ringing up our order as if nothing bad had happened! I was stunned, and It was incredibly disheartening to see such a huge disregard for customer safety and care!!! This level of negligence is alarming AND dangerous...especially for older customers who could be seriously injured! I DEFINITELY recommend never stepping foot in this donut shop again...because you just might break it! Literally! And they won't even care. read more

We come in to Master Donuts at least every month for their Apple Fritters. They are the best we have ever tasted and huge. The raised donuts are super light and airy and the cake donuts are soft and dense like a muffin (I know it's a bit cliche to say these things, but I mean it.....for real, for real!). What I also really like about the donuts here is that they aren't excessively sweet (I can easily down even the glazed ones). My favorites are the donut with crumb topping and the blueberry cake donut (honestly one of the best blueberry cake donuts that I've had). The best donut shop in Sacramento! Now, they don't do any of that weird fancy shit like candied bacon with hemp infused coconut cream filling, they just have your classic donuts.
