I used to love coming here as it is the closest donut shop to my residence. However, that was before it was sold to a business owner who has employed their family in customer service positions and has no desire nor ability to coach their employees to provide better service. The gentleman who is always there seems intoxicated and has no business working in customer service. He says strange things and is extremely forgetful - in fact, the same day I stopped coming here, a man with his family had a confrontation with him. The worker's behavior always very off - not a personality thing, but appears to be a sobriety issue. In the aforementioned man's confrontation, the worker forgot multiple items and wouldn't make it right until the man brought it up, showed his receipt, and made the worker calculate the items which were bought - after the worker gave the man what he was owed, the worker failed to acknowledge their mistake and simply looked at the man with a blank stare. I had a similar issue and called the manager, who wasn't even on site. However, I didn't notice I was missing items until I drove home. The manager wouldn't even say "sorry about that" they simply said they would talk to the staff and that I should go back to pick up the items THEY failed to provide. I went back, and the same gentleman with the inconsistent, non-sober appearing behavior said he didn't hear anything from his manager and I had to call the manager AGAIN. If it isn't the poor behavior from the dude working there, the chick in the back with the sour attitude also fails every box of customer service. I'll never return. This was a great place when the original owner was running the show, now it's just bad. read more

YES!! A new donut favorite!! I was CRAVING donuts on Sunday morning, but it was 10am - kind of late in donut speak. I found this shop on Yelp and skidded my car into the strip mall! It's easy to find right on the corner with Sunrise and Old Auburn. Lots of up front parking. The employee was helpful and kind. The donuts were plentiful and DELICIOUS! We got six donuts for just over $10. Each one was fluffy, fresh and yummy. I'll be stopping here again since I drive right by every day on my way to work. Psyched for a new place! read more

The donuts are great, the store is cute, and the service is prompt and polite. I went in at 2pm on a Saturday and there was still a decent selection of donuts, so I was pleasantly surprised. When I took a bite of one in the car, it was still warm. So good! read more

Gave me a cold sandwich gave me some orange crap drink instead of a dirty chai. Didn't listen. Really upset me.

This place has truly great apple fritters. My grandma got me hooked on them. She used to stop here on her way home from her chiropractor appointments and bring one back for us to share. Now I bring one to her so we can share it together :) Their other donuts look great, but it is hard to stray from the apple fritter since it holds so much nostalgia for me and my grandma. read more

Just stopped and saw they had blueberry scones. Most scones I see are nothings compared to the ones I make, so I wasn't expecting much. It was delicious. Possibly the best scone I ever had. read more

Very fresh and fluffy doughnuts. Tried a classic chocolate old fashioned, and a very fancy strawberry cream filled powdered. Amazing flavor combination, the whipped cream is not very sweet, the strawberries are a little zingy and the doughnut itself is light and fluffy. The powdered sugar makes it perfectly sweet and not over done. My husband went and picked up the order, this has become a go-to location for him. Quick service, in and out fast. Dining area not large, but very clean. read more

Apple fritter review #18 Glaze: Good, not too much, four stars Outside: could be crunchier, three stars Inside: soft and moist, four stars Filling: seems like the perfect amount, five stars They couldn't take my 20 and I was fifty cents short in small change but they wouldn't let me put anything back so that pushes them to five stars. :) (Also the other donut I got was good and thefritters are enormous.) read more

This donut shop is a small family-run business, and seems to be extremely popular with the locals from the surrounding neighborhood. Since it is in the same parking lot as one of my favorite laundromats, I've stopped by here a few times now, and have always found it to be packed (primarily with older men reading newspapers or playing games). The staff is super friendly and hard working. Every time I've come in, I've seen them running around like crazy, making sure to take care of every customer as quickly as possible. I've only ever ordered a donut or two, and they are not my favorite donuts of all time, but they are pretty good. They are just basic, classic American donuts-- nothing fancy or artisan (although I have to disagree with another reviewer's assertion that artisan donuts are "weird fancy shit"). So far, I believe I've tried the donut holes, sprinkle donuts, a jelly-filled donut, and a cream-filled donut. These donuts remind me of the donuts my dad would have ordered from our local donut shop when I was a little girl (because my mom would have had fancier taste). They taste like basic, classic 1989 corner donut shop donuts. If you like classic, consistent, cheap, clean chains, then you are sure to like this donut shop. read more

We come in to Master Donuts at least every month for their Apple Fritters. They are the best we have ever tasted and huge. You can see the apple chunks, taste the cinnamon and the gooey glaze on top is just right. Makes me want to go buy more. We also love their homemade Donuts so fresh and delicious. Master Donuts has served Citrus Heights their delicious donuts and pastries for over 20 years. Come out and support this small business and enjoy a sweet treat. read more

These donuts are simply, the BEST! My wife likes the giant apple fritter and the chocolate old fashioned. I'll take the sugar twist, sugar raised and the chocolate raised. And the owner's wife, Dee, is always cheerful and efficient. Her favorite expression, "See you tomorrow!" read more

I love this little donut shop and the people who work here are always polite and friendly. One day my daughter asked me for a donut for her after school snack and I started taking her here. Their donuts taste better then the Donut Kings donuts and they also have breakfast sandwiches and little lollipops on their counter for the kids. The shop is always clean and their technology is updated so I'm able to use my phone to pay. read more

I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience and got hurt at the Master Donuts in Citrus Heights! See attached photo! Right from the start, we noticed the floors were extremely slippery, so we informed Dee, the Owner, who was there. She told us that she had just mopped. A few minutes later, I slipped on the floor and fell hard right in front of her while approaching the register. I hurt my leg in the fall and was completely shocked that I was now lying on their wet floor! And then... no one did ANYTHING! I was looking up in disbelief at the lack of concern from the Owner! Dee didn't offer any assistance, show any concern, or even ask me if I was okay! Instead, she simply continued ringing up our order as if nothing bad had happened! I was stunned, and It was incredibly disheartening to see such a huge disregard for customer safety and care!!! This level of negligence is alarming AND dangerous...especially for older customers who could be seriously injured! I DEFINITELY recommend never stepping foot in this donut shop again...because you just might break it! Literally! And they won't even care. read more

Very mediocre at best. The texture and look of them seems like they are purchased not fresh made. The breakfast sandwich was microwaved instead of cooked on a griddle I have no idea why I thought it looked good. read more

I'd like to give a 4.5. The first time I went the worker wasn't very nice. The second time another worker was, she even went and made whipped cream maple bar donuts for me. Their donuts are very large, larger than some other places I've been to. It was quite a surprise to me and I was very happy with my donuts both times I went. One of the best donut shops around town. read more

Donuts were fresh Decent atmosphere Poor customer service. I ordered 4 Donuts and provided an additional $2 and asked if they could give it to the homeless women to buy a donut. The cashier agreed. Moments later, while the lady was in the bathroom, the owner decided to put it in the tip jar rather than give it to her, whom it was meant for. The homeless woman paid 50 cents for water and wasn't a nuisance. I don't respect greed, I'm choosing not to support this business anymore. It's about respect. Not being homeless, helping someone is something that makes us human. read more

Ermahgerrrd!! Speciality donuts who??? Old-school, traditional donut shop here, but who needs overly trendy donuts this time when the donuts here are downright AMAZING? The raised donuts are super light and airy and the cake donuts are soft and dense like a muffin (I know it's a bit cliche to say these things, but I mean it.....for real, for real!). What I also really like about the donuts here is that they aren't excessively sweet (I can easily down even the glazed ones). My favorites are the donut with crumb topping and the blueberry cake donut (honestly one of the best blueberry cake donuts that I've had). I initially thought that it was just a local-favorite donut shop (it's in a small, run-of-the-mill plaza within a dense neighborhood area), but silly me. *HiDdeN gEm* vibes. I'm willing to drive from EG to here again! read more

The best donut shop in Sacramento! Now, they don't do any of that weird fancy shit like candied bacon with hemp infused coconut cream filling, they just have your classic donuts. I can't believe I have to say it like this, but it's a total throwback and nostalgic from my childhood, you know when your doughnut options were between a chocolate bar, maple bar, or a crumb. Staff is all lovely and so kind when I bring my children in, even one time when we had a little coffee accident and needed help getting everything cleaned up. read more

The Apple fritter hype is true. If you get there early they are warm, soft, and crunchy. Friendly staff and clean on the inside.

The donuts are good, fresh etc. the issue is the employees can't keep their tips. I was stunned when I offered an employee tip money, and said to her, hey tips go to you guys right? And she reported, no tips go to the owner. How embarrassing, and sad. Will no longer be going. read more

Always has had the best donuts& still do. But the recent sky high prices are sending me to other local donut shop. For example, 2 days bought 1 buttermilk bar & 1 old fashioned =$3.75. We were told Apple fritter and donut holes were vegan, but our son who is allergic to milk and eggs had a reaction so think one or both are not vegan. May have been a communication issue.
