First time at Revolution Roasters here in Carlsbad. I usually visit the Oceanside location that is not too far. My usual order is an Iced Butterscotch latte. It has never failed me these last couple of years. I was disappointed this recent visit I had. While I was getting a massage not too far, my wife order 2 Iced Butterscotch Latte's w/ Breve. There was a line so it took a bit. By the time I was done with my massage my wife had just gotten our lattes. As soon as I looked into my cup, I saw so many little clumps. I immediately thought oh the half and half must be spoiled. With my wife being 8 months pregnant we didn't want to risk her drinking it. I went back to the barista counter and let them know that I think the breve was spoiled. They then asked me what drink it was, and mentioned the it's the butter separating. I can see/understand that, but I think it got into my head that it wasn't a good latte that I decided just not to drink it. I've order a butterscotch latte before and have never had the butter separate. This one must have been an off batch unfortunately. read more

Legit spot for bakery and coffee. A place we keep going back to. They are super efficient even when there's very long lines, staff is super friendly and there's always space to sit. Lots of families with kids and dogs and make this place entertaining! read more

Meh. I want to like this place but the coffee never passes for me. It's just ok but not top notch. It consistently makes my stomach hurt and I just do not feel well after drinking it. Over roasted and then becomes acidic/sour. Also likely moldy coffee beans being used. I am going to say no to RR in the future. We tried many many times but now I am over it. I tried the matcha here and it was about what you'd expect -- a bit overpriced, but made with decent quality powder. I added the honeycomb foam on top, though I couldn't really taste much honey. That said, it was still good overall. I also appreciated that it wasn't overly sweetened, which let the natural flavors of the matcha shine through. Such a cute little coffee shop in the Carlsbad village! There is plenty of seating in the area which is nice to enjoy some coffee or tea with friends. Very dog friendly area as well. I got a tropical ice tea which was really good and my friend got the salted rosemary cold foam which was good too! I def want to go back and try more of the food options and other drinks. read more

Went here two days in a row as it's our friends favorite coffee shop. The first day, my boyfriend got one of the seasonal iced lattes, which we thought was really delicious. It had really great flavor and wasn't overly sweet. The second day I got the vanilla latte which I liked, but honestly didn't love and probably would not go back for it. Didn't think it had all that much flavor and was missing the creamy and sweet flavor I was hoping for. My boyfriend got the hot pumpkin spiced latte and really liked it. I think this is one of the places where there's kind of hit or miss drinks and you have to figure out which ones are your preference. read more

I had an excellent experience at Revolution Roasters in Carlsbad. The coffee was top-notch, and I really loved the vibe of the place--while it was pretty small, it felt welcoming and laid-back. The quick service was a pleasant surprise, too. This location's café is tucked away in this awesome little small business plaza, which adds to its charm. I tried their pumpkin spice latte, and honestly, it should be a year-round item in my opinion; it was that good! We visited on a Sunday morning. We ordered an iced latte, hot latte, the breakfast sandwich, and an assortment of pastries. The breakfast sandwich was light and flavorful. Our favorite pastry was the coffee cake cinnamon roll. We enjoyed the outdoor seating surrounded by the four small businesses. I've tried O'side location few times and my husband went to Carlsbad location this morning. He brought back Matcha latte and Blueberry Lemon Coffee Cake for me. They both are so gooood! Love this little coffeeshop; I feel the espresso hits right every time I come here. Not to mention; the little plaza/community gathering area/outdoor space it has is perfect for those of us with little ones who want to run around. Despite the ample offerings of toast, fancy drinks, etc...I'm a black coffee man at heart and last time I came here I enjoyed an espresso; they served it with some mineral water, which was perfect and traditional. Finally made my way over to Revolution Roasters to try their raspberry matcha. I'm a big matcha girl and was super excited to try this and was unfortunately pretty disappointed with it. At first they made it incorrectly, I ordered mine with oat milk and watched them make one with whole milk thinking it wasn't mine, it was. No biggie they just remade it with oat milk. But the taste was not what I was expecting. I was hoping for a sweeter taste from the raspberry but it was more sour than anything, no sweetness at all. I almost threw it away but decided to add my zero sugar sweet cream I had at home to it and that made it 100 times better. I'm not sure if that's how it was supposed to taste but definitely missed the mark for me. The vibes and aesthetic are super cute though, maybe I'll give it another try since I live right up the street from it. read more

Located in OCN off S Coast highway. They sell various coffee (Holy goat, night shift, minus the edge which is decaf, etc.). I like the various and deep flavors of their coffee. I ordered their butterscotch and lavendar honey lattee...YUM! THeir house made pastries look so delicious. I will get it next time I visit. Lots of open space inside and a cool place to relax and unwind. There's also a shop for merchandise (totes, kid's tee, adut tees, various mugs). Came here on a Sunday morning to get a latte, this was my first time here as I was just visiting this area of California for the weekend, and this place came recommended. It's in a great location, and the inside was cute. Also had plenty of outdoor seating. I ordered a hot chai latte with lavender honey syrup. I thought the chai was on the earthy side, could definitely taste the spices in there, and they kind of overpowered the lavender syrup, I couldn't taste it that much. I do love the fact that they make their own milks in house. I did try a pink lemonade pop tart and it was good. Heard great things about this place so wanted to try it. I came on a weekday and there was no line but I was in a rush and didn't order. I came back on a weekend and it took 10-15 minutes to order and another 15 minutes to get my drink. Don't think I'll return on a weekend again. I tried their decaf espresso drink and it wasn't that great. Maybe it's the regular milk brand they use. I will return again and give them one more chance. read more

I went for the house coffee black which they serve immediately. Nice and hot. They have a delicious looking (didn't try) assortment of baked goods and also some prepared to order options. Cutest little coffee shop tucked away in the Cottages. The drink selection is a great mix of classics and more unique options. My friend ordered the Matcha Strawberry Latte and I got a Honey Lavender Latte. I also drooled over their baked goods, both sweet and savory (though I did not have a chance to try any). There were items like leek & mushroom pastries, homemade strawberry poptarts, etc. Service was excellent, the cashier was super sweet and wrote "Happy Bach!" for my friend's receipt when we shared that it was her bachelorette weekend. She was also great at introducing their menu and helping us with our drink options. The barista made everything beautifully (as you can see in the picture), and both drinks were DELISH.
