Ky Michaels Salon is not just another haircut it's an experience. I first found Ky just by talking around. Everyone that goes to a stylist there loves them. Ky is my 'stylist' he's friendly, smart and fun. I trust him to do whatever he wants, and know that when I'm done, my hair will look good. The Salon is always very clean, smells amazing, with all their hair care products. Their hours are flexible and can get you in just when you need them. I can't say enough about the salon. I feel the Rhode Island Monthly awards they have are very well earned. read more

Ky actually listens to what his customers want, and then puts his professional spin on it. He used his expertise and experience to give me the style I wanted in a way that fits my face and hair type. And, to top it all off the staff are charming and professional and I had to wait 3 minutes tops to be seen. Make an appointment today ladies! read more

Revive Salon - New do! - Hair Salons Near Me - Providence, Rhode Island

After 3 years of salons searching and having to constantly switch stylists for my stubborn coarse hair, I finally found the one! I have been coming to the same stylist for 2 years now, and my stylist Morgan has never once let me down. Staff there are always professional and friendly. The ambiance is always clean and chic. Even though the pricing is towards the higher end, the superb service provided by the staff (weather it is coloring or styling) makes it completely worth it! read more

Consistently the best cut and style I have ever had HANDS DOWN. It has been so difficult to find someone I trust with my curly, unruly, stubborn hair. Yet for the first time ever, my hair looks as good 3 weeks later as it did the first day it was cut. I am really impressed every time- and my girlfriend is too (which has it's benefits). It is inspiring watching Ky work. His enthusiasm for his business, well deserved confidence, and warm personality come through to make my experience there inviting and friendly. CANNOT say enough good things about Ky Michaels salon!! (just got my hair cut today, and already have my next appointment booked). read more

I AM A LUCKY GIRL. When I moved to Providence, August 2010, I did not know what to expect in terms of hair salon, freshly arriving from California. I goggled 'best hairdresser in Providence' and my search lead me to Riki Vieira. I have curly hair and the stuff she does with it is out of control, beyond my imagination beautiful. Whether she cuts, colors, foils, or helps me with updos and make up for high fashion events, I always end up having the best compliments! And I can continue to manage my hair easily for the month leading up to my next appointment with her. Recommending her is what I do all the time, she deserves the recognition, and more. Kristen took care of me one time too with cut/color and make up and she did an awesome job too. Final verdict: Ky Michael Salon sets the standard of what every hair salon should be: amazing stylists, gracious service and modern music and decor. You have the recipe for success guys! Keep it up! read more

Ky and his team at Ky Michaels Salon are the most fantastic, professional hair and make up artists in Providence, hands down. Ky is my hairdresser, and I started going to him after meeting him a few weeks after I had moved to Providence. This is a man who knows hair; I've come in with color issues, texture issues, hydration issues, and Ky always knows the answer within seconds. I have never been happier with my hair as I am when Ky does it. I am also a photographer in the area, and Riki, Raphael, and the entire team at the salon did an incredible job with hair and make up at a recent shoot. They were on time for a REALLY early start, and completely professional, creative, and on top of everything. I have never had a better experience for a shoot like this with lots of models and a tight schedule, even in New York and in Baltimore. All in all, the salon is wonderful- welcoming, fun, and bright -but the salon's staff is as good as it gets. read more

I had my hair colored and cut by Emily. I love my cut and color! I told Emily what I wanted and even asked her opinion on color choice. Emily explained everything and made sure we were on the same page with what the cut and color would be. She was friendly and attentive, and even gave me tips on how to maintain my style, which I appreciate greatly. I didn't feel rushed at all. I usually don't make return appointments to a salon because I never found a salon I was happy with, but I made another appointment on the spot. The whole experience was exactly what I expect when I get my hair cut. I finally found my salon and stylist. I highly recommend Emily! read more

One of the best experiences I've had at a salon! This review is a little delayed, but I went to Jessica to get my hair dyed to match extensions that I bought. I had never been here, so I was nervous as I had always had my hair done by the same salon which is a few hours away. I have red hair, so I know it can sometimes go really badly, hence being nervous. The color she did matched the extensions exactly, which was amazing to me. She also gave me a hydration mask, which she suggested to make my hair healthier. She then went on to put the extensions in for me and cut them so that they would blend without tacking on extra cost, which was awesome. Everyone has told me that my extensions are some of the best they've seen and it's definitely all due to Jess! Definitely making this my regular salon Highly recommend this place!! read more

Bryce did an amazing job getting my color back to my natural, yet still dynamic brunette. He gave me a perfect layered cut that I have gotten tons of compliments on! I have thick, long hair which can be a lot of work. He listened to exactly what I had in mind and was also creative. Bryce and every other stylist at Ky Michaels are truly talented professionals. I have been getting my hair done here for the last five years, and am never disappointed! read more

First off, I wouldn't want to go to any other salon in the Rhode Island area other than Ky Michaels's. Ky Michael's is the definition of class act; from the complimentary beverages and snacks -- to the personal, friendly staff and chic atmosphere. Special shoutout to my stylist, Ky, whose passion for hair styling shows to the next level, someone who is professional, creative and talented above all else. 5+ stars. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. Thanks so much! Xoxo read more

This is the most ridiculous salon. I was 12 mins late coming into the salon and they said they won't take anyone past 10 mins late. I didn't get a call about this at all and I was stuck in traffic coming to the salon. The haircut before was great but this is simply ridiculous. This is not advertised anywhere on their website. read more

$250 quoted for a house call blowout?? Yeh that's pretty crazy. People won't even pay that in major cities like Manhattan or LA. Not even an effort was made to see if a stylist was available? Seriously lame. Good luck small town salon. Turning away business is never a good look. read more

I used to enjoy coming to Ky Michaels (it's a decent salon) but with their price increase- a 45 minute haircut is now $60... that means with tip I'm paying over $100 an hour to a salon without getting it died or anything? No, thank you. I've never been blown away by any of my haircuts so I'll just go somewhere else now. read more

I went to Ky Michael's for the first time yesterday, and I was impressed from the moment I called. I called to make my appointment and they were able to squeeze me in pretty much right away. I saw Morgan and not only did she give me one of the best haircuts I've ever had in my life, she talked me through how she was styling it so I could do it myself. Like, imagine that. A salon where they want your hair to look good every day -- not just the day you get it cut! Seriously, I learned more about my hair just yesterday than I have learned in 27 years of having it on my head! I will definitely be returning! read more

My year of ugly. I just moved back from Orange County in CA, spoiled rotten from a talented colorist and stylist. Judging from all the glowing reviews, I booked an appointment with Ky. On our initial appointment, Ky talked on and on about how pleased I was going to be. When I mentioned that I didn't want to lose a lot of length, he got a funny, pinched expression and refused to cut my hair. When I protested that I wanted a trim, that it had been 7 weeks, he refused. I let it go and he suggested toning down some of the CA highlights now that I was on the East Coast. After a rough and careless dye and blowout, I walked out with black, untrimmed hair. When I met my husband for lunch, his eyes got wide, but he didn't say anything, except, "What is that black stuff smeared all over your cheeks and nose." Ky hadn't even bothered to wipe the dye off of my face! The second visit (and I must have been crazy for there to have been a second visit) went even worse. The cut completely destroyed my hair. I was left with a thin under- layer of hair, presumably to maintain the length, covered by a heavy bowl of hair on top. It was indescribably ugly and will take a year to grow out and fix.The second visit also included a terrible, rough, and sloppy dye and blowout. Never, ever again. Be careful yelpers, read closely into those 5 star reviews or you will get a year of ugly. read more

Love Danielle! I've been going to her for years with my thick coarse unruly hair and she always knows exactly what I should do to keep it under control. Very busy and sometimes tough to get an appointment but I take that as a good sign and make sure to book in advance :) read more

First off I want to say how much I enjoyed coming to this salon and having Jena as my hairstylist. She always knew what to do with my hair and find the right fit for me. I had an appointment today at the salon. I got a call in the morning telling me my stylist no longer is working with the company. I attempted to ask where she is relocated but I was then pressured to make a new appointment with a different stylist. When I hesitated to answer, the lady on the phone said we can make the appointment over the phone. I said no thank you I will figure it out. She then responded with no sympathy, " sorry for the inconvenience." Will not be returning to the salon. read more

Ky Micheals Salon, is by far one of the best salons in the state. They are professional and their color and cuts are a step above the five stars that I am allowed to give. They not only care about what you want to look like, they match your hair style to your profession. As a medical professional, I want to look professional and sassy. This is something that Ky accomplishes. The salon is clean, well maintained and the products that they use are always high end. I also must also review the man at the counter. He is so friendly and sweet. If you are looking for a progressive and professional salon an awesome cut/color, look no further as this is the salon for you. read more

Had an awesome experience getting a balayage from Danielle at KY. She added lovely brown tones to my dark hair and gave it much-needed dimension. It was pretty expensive but well-worth it, considering the color will last and was applied in a feathery way to keep it low maintenance and natural-looking. I also appreciate the owner KY for going out of his way and making time to see me for a touch-up on my bangs, which needed some color after the balayage. They listened to my hair needs (we're all so particular about our hair, right?!) and I left feeling heard and prettier than when I walked in :) Highly recommend this place for quality cut and color. read more

I came to this salon to get a haircut and highlights. The highlights were great, Ky did a terrific job with it. However, after I told him how much i disliked my haircut and how much I was looking forward to a good, nice and clean cut, he told me that he "kinda likes it". He proposed that I come back in 4 weeks (really? My hair was at a point where it was difficult to style it and did not look professional. I never thought I needed to get to a stage of "cousin It" in order to get my hair cut). After I insisted that it would be better to clean it up, he snipped hair in a couple of places (to lighten it up), charged me a full price of a haircut and left. I left the salon confused. On the one hand, I did have great highlights. On the other hand, my hair (length and cut-wise) looked EXACTLY the same as when I came in. read more

After a traumatic haircut at a not-to-be-named salon in Providence (you can read my Yelp review of that salon if you'd like), I desperately needed help! I saw the great Yelp reviews and heard good things through word of mouth so I decided to try it out. The girl who was recommended to me (Danielle - apparently she's great) didn't have any availability, so I went with Morgan. Love her. She helped me fix my tragic mess of a "haircut" from the last place and did a great job. For the first time in years, I've been keeping to a 8-week haircut schedule because she does such a nice job! She is also very fairly priced. Ky also is a great business owner. Morgan wasn't able to cut my hair one time when I needed to reschedule, so I scheduled my cut with another hairdresser. It being the end of the day, he was delayed (I understand that, if every customer all day is 5 minutes late, you are going to end up being late an hour) and I wasn't able to wait any longer because I had plans. I went up to the desk to tell them I had to leave (I wasn't mad, I just couldn't stay any longer) and Ky profusely apologized and rescheduled me for another haircut at another date on the house. I was really thankful, and honestly, not looking for a free haircut, but it was much appreciated. Oh! They also do free walk-in bang trims between cuts. Not that I ever go because I'm lazy, but I like that if I ever got my act together, I could go for one! read more

I went to Ky Michaels Salon about a half dozen times while I was living in Providence. Whether I was getting some creative coloring (dark brown to silvery grey!) or just a fashion-forward haircut, I always got amazing service. These stylists and colorists are SO talented and have such a huge commitment to education and staying ahead of the trends. Their team is professional and talented beyond belief. read more

So I have coming to Ky Michaels for several years now. They tend to be very busy (for good reason), so recently, I tried a new to me stylist, Bryce. So glad I did. He took my blond hair, which I was already thrilled with and thought it would be even better with a couple of lighter highlights.....I cannot believe how just that little touch, made my hair so much better. He cuts my hair when needed and does not when it is not needed, which I totally appreciate. And I need to mention, he gave me a pretty awesome shampoo and mini scalp massage, which lets face it....always makes your visit so much better! I also have to highly recommend their line of "no yellow" shampoo ..... It has literally changed my life!!! Thanks Bryce! read more

Danielle gave me an excellent haircut! I have only been once, but plan to go back. The salon is pleasant and was pretty busy while I was there (on a Friday evening). I plan to go back to Danielle, but from the look of it, everybody there seems to be quite talented. My only (small) complaint would be lack of pleasantness from the reception/scheduling person. She wasn't rude, just not super friendly. read more

It's wedding season and being the last minute person that I am, I try to schedule appointments the day before. My fiance has been getting his hair cut here and gave the place rave reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. Ky was gracious enough to fit me in for make up and an updo for a wedding I had to attend the next day. Mt appointment was with Daniele who is amazing! Make up was great and my hair was EXACTLY how I imagined it to be! The place is super clean and appealing to the eyes. Staff are all friendly. Will be visiting again soon! read more

I made an appointment with Jena for the first time few months ago.. I have had long hair for a long time and wanted a change! Jena was great she shaped my hair but still kept it long!! I was so happy with the cut I went back again. but unfortunately for my third cut I found out she left! I had an emergency the day before the third appointment and I called to see if I could move the appointment back and they told me she left the salon! I was really upset no one called to let me know and try to reschedule my appointment. I wont be going back to this salon. read more

The facilities are nice but not happy with the haircut or stylist's attempts to fix the bad job

Just want to reiterate - this place and most notably Katrina but also the front desk staff - are truly fantastic. Got a cut from Katrina yesterday as has been my norm for over a year and she simply nailed it as always. This time I was really struck by the meticulous care she took in addressing what I think is a difficult head of hair on a neurotic head but for her it's no problem and she is ALWAYS smiling and easy-going. read more

After bouncing around between many different hairstylists, I finally found Riki Vieira! Being French (Paris!), I have extremely high standards and she has been the only one to meet and even exceed them. As I'm sure you know, cutting short hair is already extremely difficult and to add to that, I have wavy hair layered on top of straight hair. It takes a true lion master to tame it in style. She has given me many young and funky yet professional haircuts and I always receive many compliments for it. When creating it, she takes into consideration my personality and lifestyle. The haircuts are very easy to maintain and grow well. She is a delightful person with a great sense of humor and fine fashion taste (she is not one of those overly extravagant hairstylists with 3 tons of makeup and huge hair). So I am giving her a five star rating for this long overdue review. read more

My old salon did not do my hair well. I was never really wowed after leaving there. Ever since I came to Ky Michaels and saw Brandon for my haircut, I leave every time happy and I've gotten so many compliments in my haircut. Thank you to everyone at Ky Michaels!! read more

Got my hair cut with Danielle for another great haircut!

Creative, talented staff. Danielle does a precision cut, great color. Trying new products...

Emily is amazing. She is the first person who I have gone to that is not afraid to take risks because she is so skilled. Everyone has been complementing my new look and I have been thrilled to refer them all to the awesome Ky Michaels Salon. Additionally the salon itself has a cool feel and they have been great about being able to schedule my appointment at a time that works for me. I also love the optional text/e-mail appointment reminders. Super great place, I highly recommend it. read more

I've been coming to Ky Michaels for almost two years now, and it's definitely been the best salon experience I've had while in Providence. I always try to book with Emily, who I was luckily matched up with when booking my first appointment. She made me feel confident to finally make some changes to my hair - first in getting bangs, and then later going for the red hair I've always wanted. I wish that I could book Emily to do my hair for my upcoming wedding in NJ, but I will certainly be going in to her a few weeks prior to again shape up my cut and perfect my color. For the services they provide, I feel that their prices are fair and competitive for Providence/Boston, and if I can actually remember to come in in-between appointments for a bang trim, that service is free. Definitely a salon I would (and have) recommended to others! read more

When I first moved to Providence, I was browsing Yelp to find a new hair stylist. I tried a couple of places before finding Ky Michaels - now, this is the only salon where I'll get my hair cut. Talented and friendly staff. Trendy shop. Prices are a bit on the high side, but worth the quality that you get. read more

I have gone a couple times to get my haircut by Emily. She's great! I love her and think she is really cool. Super easy to talk to. The haircuts there are actually cheap, pretty easy to reserve, and very stylish. I went in with partly bleached hair, which I think was a challenge to work with, and she made it look amazing. It cost under $30 without any special product or anything, and was an enjoyable experience with a really great stylist. read more

I had a haircut and balayage with Ky and he was absolutely amazing, he gave me the soft lightening I wanted and skilfully trimmed away two years of damage I'd never succeeded in removing, and my hair feels lighter and healthier than it has in 8 years. I will absolutely be returning, the salon and staff are brilliant and it has that awesome stylish boutique feeling without any of the pretentiousness. Thank you Ky for bringing life back to my hair! read more

I got a balayage for the first time ever with Sara and it looks amazing! I was super nervous about dying my hair but she talked me through everything and made sure I was comfortable with the whole process! It turned out exactly how I wanted it to look and super natural looking. Honestly, if you're looking for a good place to do your hair, I highly suggest this place and Sara!!! read more

What a wonderful experience! I was visiting Providence for the first time from out of town and felt like a new salon, new stylist would be a great pick me up for fall. I researched all the local salons and kept coming back to Ky Michaels. Two things sealed the deal 1) Ky's response to the unsavory review left on Yelp by the California diva 2) the wonderful receptionist who answered the phone. The salon is adorable and Jessica is a total gem! I am so sad that I wont be able to see her as my regular stylist. Five stars all the way! read more
