I am so thrilled to live so close to downtown Monrovia to be able to enjoy all the local restaurants and cafes on weeknights and weekends. The area is so nice and everyone is so friendly. I bookmarked Republik Coffee for the longest time but haven't gotten around to waking up early enough on a "ME DAY" (no kids, no sports, no school events, no volunteering, most importantly no work) to stop by. Sunday morning @ 10:30am - I was lucky enough to find a parking spot right in the front of the restaurant so that was great! The line was out the door but it wasn't anything too crazy. I was able to place my order within less than 5 minutes, which actually gave me enough time to look at the menu. I wasn't too hungry as I usually don't like to eat that much in the morning, so although they have a great selection of breakfast items, I settled for side of two eggs and Turkey Sausages, and of course a cup of London Fog Latte for my IG photo. #PhoneEatFirst Food Rating? I had actually contemplated in ordering the full breakfast for my review. It was actually only $18 so totally inexpensive but I simply don't think I could eat the sides of potatoes, toasts and even an avocado. Wasting food is the last thing on my mind, so I ended up ordering breakfast sides. Surprisingly, it came out nicely plated! I am such a HUGE egg person and always on the haunt for the prettiest egg yolks so the eggs definitely passed the test today! Lol. Perfectly IG photo pleasing so i give that a 10/10. Their Latte? A MUST TRY! It was not too sweet and served at the perfect temperature. I really did enjoyed this so another 10/10. I love the morning vibes here and definitely feel like I was brunching at my favorite cafes in L.A or Pasadena. I highly recommend Republik Coffee in downtown Monrovia! Two thumbs up!

The truffle mushroom & Brie signature toast was rich and earthy,. The creamy Brie paired perfectly with the savory mushrooms and truffles. The salmon cucumber toast was light and refreshing . The turkey club panini was warm, crispy, and generously layered with turkey and fresh toppings. Drinks were just as enjoyable -- the black vanilla latte had a smooth bold flavor. The açaí smoothie was refreshing, fruity, and blended perfectly. Overall, a great spot for brunch or a coffee date.

Cute coffee shop in Old Town Monrovia with a really nice atmosphere. I ordered the Vietnamese cold brew and actually really enjoyed that one. I also tried the matcha, but personally it tasted a little too much like plain milk for my preference. I mentioned it to the cashier, and she was so sweet about it and offered to make me a different drink, which I really appreciated. Overall, it's still a nice spot and I would come back again to try some of their other drinks since it's in the area

I've been to the Pasadena locations a few times and they've always been super consistent. The space itself is cozy with a subtle luxury feelthe square paneling with gold trim gives it that classic Paris café vibe without feeling overdone. I also appreciate that they make their syrups in-house, unlike a lot of newer coffee spots. If I'm paying $8+ for coffee, I expect that level of detail instead of using standard syrups like Monin or Torani. The coffee itself is solid nothing tastes burnt, and you can actually taste the crema, which tells me the espresso is being pulled properly. I'm not usually a fan of cold brew since it can lean more acidic and slightly sour, but the sea salt balances it out really well. Service was friendly and efficient my drink came out in under 5 minutes even though it was pretty busy. I'd definitely come back.

Good coffee, rushed service, and really cramped inside. I just got a hot mocha and it had a really good chocolate-y taste to it while still keeping a coffee taste. The food smelled amazing but the prices were a bit much for me (I was already spending a lot that day). The service wasn't unfriendly but they were clearly very rushed. This is a hot spot on a Saturday morning! I was hoping to have a nice coffee and reading time at a cafe vibe but the inside is small and cramped and it was drizzling when I went yesterday morning. They do have tables outside in the front potentially in the back from the looks of it. There's a location closer to me in Burbank so I'll definitely be back to try other drinks and hopefully some food!

Salted cold brew cloud: More on the sweeter side. I love that that foam and harder to swirl so that you can adjust the amount of sweetness mixed in cold brew. Americano 8oz: Soft stronger in flavor compared to other americanos. Their standard is 2 shots of espresso.

Republik is really good but a very pricey coffee shop. Breakfast for two of us was around $57. Everything they're serving up looks delicious, from breakfast dishes to pastries. I had the tuna melt and appreciated the perfect crisp on the bread. They do offer it in either a half or full, and next time I would order a half because it's pretty filling. We also enjoyed the breakfast burrito. The real winner for me was the Strawberry Matcha Cloud. The strawberry flavor along with the matcha was just wonderful. They have a nice little back patio to enjoy your meal, and everything came out pretty quickly despite the long line. I just felt that the price points could be a bit lower.

This place is okay. I had the turkey club and an espresso tonic. The espresso was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The turkey club did not really impress me either. Overall, it is passable. They do have some tables, but the space is on the smaller side. If you are trying to eat and also work on a laptop, it might feel a bit tight. Parking is not too bad since there are free public lots nearby. Personally, I would recommend other cafes in the Monrovia area first.

Love this new location! There's a super cute back patio so make sure to check it out. It's a smaller space as compared to the one in Pasadena . But the more intimate setting creates a more noisy and energetic atmosphere. This is my 3rd time here since soft opening and the food quality is on par with the other 2 locations ! My only complaint is the butter croissant is almost too buttery. It's very rich as compared to other croissants of similar caliber bakeries and cafes. Service is good. There is live music on Saturday afternoons so I really enjoyed that !

Great place that we stopped by in Monrovia. They handmade their syrups and all their pastries are baked in house!! Check them out next time you're in OT Monrovia.

Came by to get coffee before the night market started on Friday evening. Line was short, and staff was attentive. I love the minimalist decorations. They also sell cute products, such as water bottles. We ordered a hot cardamon oak latte. The coffee came out to be very tiny, but it cost closed to $9 with tax. To be honest, I wanted to try the strawberry matcha cloud, but it cost $9.25 plus tax. That would be too much for me. The coffee I got is decent, nothing stand out, not worth for what I spent.

We haven't been here for quite a while, and I'm happy to say the quality is still very consistent. The food was good, and the service remained warm and welcoming. My son's favorite breakfast plate once again earned his full approval -- always a good sign! We'll definitely be back.

It's subtle and silky, but 20 minutes later, I felt my eyes dilate. WOAH! This caffeine ramps up in the most unsuspecting way. FUN! I appreciated the strength, and I happily savored this coffee's cinnamon & brown sugar tones. (Quick Note: There's no customer internet on the weekend.) I arrived at Grey & Cash (Monrovia) on Friday (around 10:40AM). Parking will require a little walking since street parking is very competitive. Fortunately, there's free parking lots scattered nearby, and it's a brisk walk. Staff is professional and diligent. This business is CRAZY busy! The line kept lengthening. Staff politely and efficiently answered my questions. Once I reached the counter (took about three minutes), my drink arrived very quickly. Took about one minute. As mentioned, I enjoyed the Nitro James Brew ($8.25 - 16oz - Chilled). It has no ice, but it's chilled. The coffee is also silky & soft. Initially, I scoffed at the coffee's strength... but as time progressed, the caffeine kept growing stronger & stronger. WOAH! As someone who drinks daily coffee, it's very rare & unique to feel such almost-frightening power. Regarding ambiance, Grey & Cash (Monrovia) felt busy and cramped despite the large space & tall ceiling. There's about nine tables inside, two tall tables, and five outside tables. The location has a self-service water station, high-chairs for kids, and several electrical outlets (counted about six spots). There's also customer internet with password; customers must ask Staff for the details. Also, there's a gender neutral restroom in the back. Its music is fairly loud, but it's upbeat and fun. Overall, I found something unique and special at Grey & Cash (Monrovia). If you love silky, potent coffee, this is a must-try. WOAH! 4.9 out of 5

It was delicious and a great size! All the flavors were distinguishable yet married perfectly together. And the GREEN salsa is a must! Didn't see it on the menu, but they had it on a promo flyer near the register. Also tried the vanilla cranberry pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and perfectly cooked. Accompanied by whipped butter and a not-too-sweet cranberry syrup. Whatever they are doing in the kitchen is magic. I'll be back to try other things from the menu as well as something from their pastry selection. The chocolate cherry hand pie is lingering in my mind! Pictures attached. Sadly, the coffee and chai latte were a miss. The medium size coffee was teeny tiny. So much so I thought they made a mistake. It didn't have a kick and fell short. Too weak for what I was expecting. The chai latte was flat. There was no froth, it was way too spicy, and although I asked for extra honey, it was still not enjoyable. Too bad because the food was so great. The location is perfect and if they can get their drinks a notch up, it will be Sierra Madre's gem! There's a small indoor seating area both with small couch/table set up and single seat bench seating lining the window and wall. If you can grab one of the two high top tables you may have to wipe things down. There are small tables outside too if you don't mind foot traffic and the people watching is good. It may have been the Sunday rush (I was there around 12:30) but I was disappointed with the lack of someone doing quick wipe downs of the least the table tops. Both my table, the window bar seating, and floors were quite untidy. Most disappointing was that a manager or owner was sitting in the 2nd heigh top table chatting with friends. We realized he was management because the barista informed him that they were out of ice. At this point he was surprised that barista was in (maybe it was her day off?) He quickly said goodbye to his friends and walked to the back. This disappointed me for two reasons. 1. He could have been wiping tables and sweeping the floors instead of customers having to clean their own tables. And refilling the utensils as there weren't any forks. 2. He and his friends sat at the table for a while. We arrived and I saw them already there. And they were there until we were almost done eating--which was about 40 mins.
