My wife and I just used this service as were were moving houses and it was AMAZING! One of the things I hate most about the moving experience is dealing with the moving boxes. Gathering them can be a pain.. or purchasing them from the moving company or box store can get very expensive. Then you have to deal with disposing of them afterwards. What a total hassle. But after getting bombarded by their billboards driving to work every morning, my wife decided to give them a try. And it was AWESOME! They dropped off a ton of sturdy, stackable crates with dolly's so the stacks could easily be moved. They also come with security zip-tie locks - so you know your moving company isn't going through your stuff. AND labels to make it easy to know where your stuff is once you get to the new place. And for another few dollars, they threw in some kind of great packing paper for dishes and fragile items. So you have all of these big, plastic bin delivered to your old house, you fill them up, the movers move them to your new house, you empty them, then on the assigned date - the company comes by your new address and takes them away! LOVE LOVE LOVE repax!! I called in and spoke to Jim who advised me to get a few more repax crates than I thought I needed. He wasn't pushy at all; he just cautioned me that normally people underestimate the amount of stuff they have. He was right. I did take his advice and ordered the 35 crate with 3 dolly package. Scott was the delivery guy and he was so accomodating. He got there early, waited till I got home, was as cheerful as can be, and brought all the crates up my long steep driveway up a bunch of stairs into the house. The crates could not be easier to use. I literally just threw stuff in without worrying about weight distribution, etc. When I unpacked it was so worry free. Just unpack and stack the crates in corner. No breaking down boxes, no taking them to the dumpster, just none of that. I will never go back to using cardboard boxes again. read more

I am the property manager for a large apartment community. I recently had to move *again* and was dreading the entire process. Using the plastic RePax boxes and special dolly was a life saver! Amazing all around. The crates are so much better and more durable than boxes. We did the 2 bedroom bundle for 2 weeks and had plenty of time to pack and unpack. I have used Repax twice now, two years ago with a smaller move in Huntington Beach, and just last month with a larger move from Huntington Beach to Lake Forest. Todd, remembered me down to what I did for a living and even remembered I had been pregnant the first time we moved. I very highly reccomend this company and way of packing. We will never pack brown boxes again. These crates are so easy to move, we had 75 crates which came with 3 dollies and zip ties to move our 3 bedroom apartment and garage. We kept them a little over 3 weeks. Todd dropped them off to us with labels and packing materials and he picked them up at our new home when we were done. Todd's customer service is top notch. When we needed more crates, underestimating our move, he had them to us the next day. He extended the pick up dates 4 days no charge because my husband and I got sick at the end of our move. And I believe on my first move, he gave us a week extra to unpack no charge. The packing material is great, we want to purchase more for packages. It's all recyclable too. All in all only 2 glasses were broken this move and that was due to my husband's packing them quickly (sorry honey!). That's the best we've ever had. If you are moving and Repax is available in your area don't even think twice about not using this AMAZING service. To begin with the staff couldn't be more helpful, accommodating or kind. I had to move out of my 3 BR house and put everything in storage for two weeks before my new digs were ready to move in. Dates ended up being moved around and Repax had no problem changing my pickup dates and extending the time I needed to unpack. Because of the sturdy crates I had not fear about anything getting crushed while in storage and what a HUGE relief not to have to worry what to do with nine kajillion cardboard boxes at the end of a move. The crates are an amazing thing. They actually help you pack well by forcing you not to overpack some huge box that ends up weighing seven hundred pounds. The labels on the crates also make it super easy to know what goes where when you arrive. They stack up easily as you pack as well to help you feel more organized as you go along. Using Repax will be the best decision you make for your next move! The boxes are big, clean, sturdy, eco-friendly, water resistant (It rained during our move and they came in very handy. Yes, we moved the one day it has to rain in So Cal!) Repax was so easy to work with, Brian and Todd explained how it all works and the boxes were dropped off exactly when I wanted them. I didn't have to set up any cardboard boxes, no tape and no breaking them back down. Best of all: no trash! That saved us so much time! You can stack them on top of each other and it is so much safer than regular boxes. They don't tip and none of your stuff breaks :) They come with a little trolley where you can put them on. Short review: Crates good, service not so much. The actual crates are very sturdy and protect your belongings much better than cardboard boxes (though you still need to cushion fragile things like wine glasses). I called three times and spoke to three different people. None of them could tell me much about the crates. This company wants you to rent their crates without knowing what size they are or how much they can hold! They have no stores, so you can't go look before deciding how many you need. I was told someone would call me back and arrange a viewing, but they never did. I called back the next day and was promised the same thing with the same results. I was told you can place your order the same day you need them to deliver, but that also wasn't true. I finally placed an order on Saturday morning for Saturday afternoon, and was given a delivery window. The window came and went. I called to check the status and was told they would call me back. 25 mins later, someone called me and told me they couldn't deliver the crates until Tuesday, four days later!!! We lost four days of packing time! We had to waste money on cardboard boxes and tape because at that point we couldn't be sure the crates would ever show up. I had ordered the two room package for a two week rental, but I changed it to the one room package for one week due to the fact that I knew we would have some stuff packed in cardboard by Tuesday, plus moving day would be five days later by then (so we shouldn't need them for 2 weeks at that point). They were also running a "deal": You get either an extra weeks rental, or an extra 10 crates, free. I chose the extra 10 crates. Tuesday came, and finally the infamous crates arrived. Except that the delivery guy (Scott, who was great btw) had only brought the one room order because his sheet showed one room (25 crates) and a two week rental! I showed him my confirmation email I had received from Repax showing 35 crates and a one week rental. Scott apologized and said he could return the next day with 10 more crates. He left, but returned about 20 mins later with the crates. I don't know if he took them from another order or what, but I was glad he did. The day before the crates were to be picked up, Repax had the nerve to send an email warning me that if the crates were not ready to go by Tuesday, I would be charged for another week. Un-believable. My advice is to by all means use them, but place your order a good week before you need the crates, and be ready for a run to Home Depot if they don't show up! Also, I think their estimate for rooms is a bit thin - better to order a few extra. Oh, and if you're in L.A., pray that Scott is the delivery guy! read more

Using Repax for my recent move had to be the smartest thing I have ever done. I hate to move. I hate putting together boxes. I hate taking apart boxes and finding a place to dispose them. I had the best experience using Repax! I was extremely happy with the service I received and it was very quick and easy to set up and execute. I ordered the boxes on the website and they immediately called me to set up a delivery time and made arrangements for the date that I'd need them picked up. They delivered the crates a couple days before I moved so I'd have enough time to get everything ready a long with all the labels and zip ties I'd need to secure my items. I loved having the same size crates to work with(and no tape) and having the dollies to maneuver them around. The crates themselves made loading and unloading the moving truck so fast! I seriously hope that every move I have in the future is with Repax. This was so much easier than boxes. I chose the 3 bedroom package for my overstuffed 2 bedroom move form California to Virginia. The crates turned out to be a little larger than I'd imagined... each one probably holds a bit more than your average medium box. The rental included labels and ties to secure the crates. You can also choose to purchase this neat recycled packing material to use. I only got one, but could have gotten away with three. You can use it instead of bubble wrap. There was a last minute scheduling issue for my drop off, but they let me know what was going on, and gave me 10 bonus crates for my inconvenience. (And boy am I glad they did, because I used e v e r y single one.) The guys who loaded my truck loved them, and we actually finished earlier than anticipated - totally thanks to the uniform size of the Repax crates. This business has changed ownership and is no longer the same business that got the rave reviews below. I chose them because of the reusable plastic crates and the glowing reviews, and did not have a good experience. They do not use reusable crates. I hired them for a full pack and move to two locations and had considerable confusion and difficulty getting the plan straight. We set it up for 1-2 days depending on how long the packing took. The packing did not happen efficiently at all, in fact I ended up doing a lot myself because it was not getting done, and not done well. It was truly a two day job because of the amount of stuff I have, and the two delivery locations, but the movers insisted on doing it all that day. They ran out of boxes and I threw things in trash bags just to get it done. We finished at midnight and I was so tired I couldn't even stand up. It was a bit of a nightmare, truly. The movers are very sweet Kazakh young men, but don't speak much english and the operation seems a bit shady. I paid $155/hour for all this, though I complained so they gave me the (cardboard) boxes for free. I do not recommend using them. read more

Great company and terrific business concept. Overall, it saves money, time, frustration and the planet. I've moved 10 times in the last 12 years--and I've always used found, free cardboard boxes. Weeks before my last move I saw an ad for Repax and convinced my doubtful boyfriend to give them a try. This is what we found: --We saved 1 to 2 days of work, approximately 5 miles of driving around scouting, hauling and assembling free boxes. The crates came delivered to our door, stacked on dollies with a roll of labels, all fully prepared and ready to go. --We saved about 4 hours NOT looking for the tape or the scissors. --I estimate that we saved nearly 1 HOUR PER CRATE during packing and unpacking: The crates' 2 flaps have 2 convenient positions-- closed flat or hung open flat. The neutral position for all 4 cardboard box flaps is always flared out, taking up two or three times the space and making them difficult to manage. --HANDLES!!!!!!! No skinning my knuckles on the floor to lift a box in front of my face where I can't see where I am going. Furthermore, the crates stack and don't slide. Think of the savings as a couple more hours and a few vertebrae. --The crate dollies, which are more like crate caddies, made packing and unpacking so much easier and lighter, it was laughable. They were worth twice the cost of the entire rental. --The strength and durability of the crates kept our stuff safer and more secure. We could throw anything in them without worrying about tears or splits. --Found boxes are free but tape, gas and dollies are not. Unless you are the cheapest mover in the world, the costs could be close to equal. So if you can afford to make the decision, it should be an easy one to make. read more

This is the best innovation in moving since the wheel. That may sound like an overstatement but I can assure you that the time, frustration, belongings (and trees!) saved is worth more than twice what these guys charge for this service. It was seriously my dream come true for moving. I was shocked that I had never thought of this before or thought to look for a service like this. I got a recommendation from Real Rock'n'Roll Movers and jumped right in. The pricing was right (especially when you consider the whole picture) and the scheduling process was super simple. Jim, the guy who runs the LA location, made the delivery himself to my downtown apartment (not super easy to do). He was incredibly pleasant and super passionate about the service. I got to packing that night and had completely filled my 25 bins in 4 days. I even used the bins to do a few trips myself to the new place while I waited for the movers to come. I was able to fit 8 of these in my Camry with no trouble. The dollies were a lifesaver for moving from the 5th floor to the car in the lot behind the building. When the movers showed up they were delighted to see the tubs (rather than a pile of various-sized and questionably-packed boxes) and had all 25 bins loaded on the truck in about 10 minutes! Some of that is testament to the movers themselves of course but the bins definitely reduced the time of getting my stuff out the door (which is money saved). I purposefully scheduled the bins to be picked up 24 hours after the movers were to be done so I'd HAVE to be unpacked. You can hold on to them for long of course but I saw this as an opportunity to prevent myself from procrastinating and then struggling to find a pair of socks for 3 days. It worked! I was completely out of the bins before the pickup time. Jim was awesome to the very end. He called me earlier in the day to see if I wanted the bins out of my hair earlier or if it would be at all helpful to have an extra day. I told him that I'd want them to be gone today (as mentioned above) but I'd give them a call if I was done early. When I finished an hour earlier than expected, I called Jim up and he had the driver head on over. The driver was super nice himself and also super passionate about the service. These guys know they have a good thing on their hands! He was quick to get the bins from my home and out of the way. He put them on a truck, I signed an iPad with my finger, and the process was complete. And, just 9 days after ordering the Repax bins, I'm completely unpacked and moved in! I can't thank you guys enough for providing this service and being so nice throughout the entire process. I'll point out so humbly, I'm a pro at moving. We did a couple of things differently for this move, and I'm totally sold on making sure all of our moves go this way in the future. For this move we used RePax for our moving boxes. These are heavy duty green crates that stack. We didn't want to use cardboard boxes at all. After a move is concluded, I have always hated how I have these cardboard boxes that I have to find some way to toss out (or recycle) these boxes. Getting boxes out to the recycle bin is a total waste of my time - that is why in the past I've always asked (or implied) Alex to break down the boxes and get them out to where ever they are supposed to go. I ordered the two-bedroom bundle, with 35 crates and three dollies. The Next time I will order the three-bedroom bundle. We don't have a lot of stuff, but Iolani has a lot of fluffy toys...I have poorly organized cupboards, and Alex has a lot of bits and pieces that just don't pack efficiently. We ran out of green containers about 3/4 the way through packing. When packing, it was great that we could just stuff the crates, making them impossibly heavy. As long as we put empty crates on top of the heavily packed crate, we could get a lot of our stuff in them. When it came time to move the crates, it was awesome because the movers could take 5 or 10 of them at one time. This saved a lot of time - both getting things out of the old apartment and into the next one. Then, when it came to unpacking, my favorite part - I could tell when I had 10 boxes to go...5 boxes to go...1 box to go... and finally - All done! OMG - when I got down to 6 crates left, I couldn't help myself. I kept emailing the Repax folks to tell them I was almost done. I'm sure I was the most annoying customer they've ever had. And, here's why: Because this was such a last minute move, if I didn't need to be somewhere in person, and I could have someone do something in my place...that's how it happened. The RePax folks delivered the crates to the Pegasus...and INSIDE our apartment. When I got home from work, all the packing materials were inside the apartment. We went back and forth, with me asking for an earlier delivery, later delivery, what kind of delivery. I'm sure all they needed me to say was "Drop them off in the living room, and enjoy the traffic back to Culver City" Pick up was tricky...because I made it tricky. Last night, I still had over 10 green crates to unpack before a Monday pick up. This morning I sent a desperate email asking for them to list me as their very last pick up. They accommodated my request. I'm sure at some point I wore out my welcome, but...hey...I'm needy. Imagine my surprise when I finished unpacking the last crate at 11 a.m.! I thought it would take me longer. I immediately emailed RePax and let them know I was done! (in my head I was thinking "OMG!!! I AM DONE UNPACKING!!!!) They emailed me back, offered congratulatory words of encouragement, and that they'd be there between 4 and 6 p.m. Then my meeting ran late, and 4 p.m. came and went. I was so happy to get their phone call when I was only two minutes away. The guys showed, took the crates, and that was that. Our house looks almost moved in. The customer service with RePax was awesome. When you crunch the numbers, the crates are cheaper than cardboard boxes. Additional bonus: there's no tape. Your order includes labels for the boxes and a package of zip-ties. The zip-ties were very helpful in locking up the crates with stuff that Iolani shouldn't get into (the under the sink stuff) and crates with sensitive or valuable items. Besides, the important thing when moving is that you shouldn't accumulate any more things. Using RePax - our house had no net increase in cardboard! (or tape). I would say, the only thing missing - a couple of larger crates that act as wardrobe boxes for the closet stuff (and wedding gowns). Having moved 8 times in the last 6 years, I am a seasoned pro when it comes to the logistics of a move. I've had the worst and the best experiences moving, in every type of property you can imagine, with and without movers... simply put, Repax is definitely a must for any move. One of the major hassles Ive experienced when moving is getting rid of the boxes at the end of the move. I live in Downtown, so that requires several elevator rides down to the alley or basement. So annoying. What a concept. You rent boxes that stack and come with dollys, and then they get picked up when you're done. It's amazing. Okay is there any way to give a company more than FIVE Stars...please? Finally a company who has found a way to move moving into the 21st Century. The crates are awesome and very light and easy to handle. I went with the 25 and they were not nearly enough, but hey, no worries, I had them for a week - so I was able to use them over and over and over and over and over and over again without spending any money on excess packing tape. Let's see, what's not to love about Repax? The crates can carry a lot of items at once and you can choose to haul them closed or not. The crates are easy to handle and require no tape The crates come with stickers and ties if you want to use them The crates are delivered when and where you want The crates are picked up a week later from your new location The crates are eco-friendly and are NOT dirty like cardboard boxes The crates are a MUCH cheaper way to go than buying traditional moving boxes...trust me, I checked and was sold on Repax just on the cost of the crates alone to rent. The whole entire experience with Repax was Top Notch. There is no company out there like this one. Once you move with Repax I really don't think you'll be buying cardboard ever again. And why would you? The problems I used to face with moving and buying cardboard boxes was 1. The cost. I mean $11 for one wardrobe box, $7 for one dish box and $12 for one picture frame box. That's already $30 for just three boxes and I normally need about 20 or so boxes for everything. 2. If I do choose to BUY all of my moving boxes and spend the $150 or more for my boxes, what in the Sam Hill am I going to do with them once I'm done moving? I mean, looking at the cost I spent on them, I would almost be tempted to frame them. But honestly, where would I store them, how long would they last outside or in my garage? 3. Lastly, who is going to haul my empty boxes for me, either before I start packing or once I'm done? Me...or nobody. One more reason I was sold on Repax; they delivered them and they picked them up. All I had to do was point and tell the movers to move my crates once they were packed and sealed. I will be using them again for any other move I have in the future. What I also liked is when I called, I talked to a PERSON,,,,remember them..huh? Real people? They (people) were around answering customer calls well before the Press 1 for....Press 2 for....Press 3 for....Press 4 for...and then your call gets disconnected. AND, I was able to carry on a full conversation with Jim from Repax via text message...I mean, c'mon is that not the greatest or what? I needed that option to text instead of calling, emailing or waiting for a representative as my call is very important and will be answered in the order in which it was received.....right before the line goes dead and I have to call back again and wait another 35 minutes....all while I'm handling the movers and the other odds and ends that come up during a move in Los Angeles. I love this company. Their customer service is excellent, and everyone with whom I interacted was kind, professional and completely accommodating. There was a glitch with their online scheduling system & it logged me for a pickup on July 4th when they wouldn't be working. Someone reached out to me immediately via phone AND e-mail to reschedule, even offering to let me keep the crates for a couple of extra days at no extra cost if it would make things easier for me (they charge by the week). Of course I ended up unpacking everything in less than 24 hours even though I had the crates for several more days, and I really wanted them out of here because these 2 huge stacks were just sitting by my front door and taking up space. I called Repax on the off chance that they might be able to come get them the next day so I didn't have to keep them stacked in my entryway for the rest of the week, and they were totally willing to do it for me. The guys got here early the next afternoon to take them off my hands and once again couldn't have been nicer about everything. So they absolutely get 5 stars for quality of service - I'd give them even more if I could. HOWEVER, the crate design has several limitations, and I realized rather quickly that there was no way I'd be able to complete packing without getting some cardboard boxes as well. I'd suggest you keep reading if you plan to use these crates for a move... The crates are made of a durable plastic or resin of some sort, so they're much heavier than cardboard which means you can't cram as much stuff into them if you want to be able to lift them. I had to pick up a bundle of cardboard boxes because there's no way I could lift one of these crates if it was filled with books, and I have a big library of heavy books so I would have used at least half of the crates just to pack them. Which brings me to the next issue - their estimates for how many crates you'll need are *much* too low, an issue that's also been mentioned by other Yelpers. Having read about that here (thanks for the warning, folks!) I opted for the 2-bedroom package even though I lived alone in a 1-bed, 1-bath place. I packed all my clothes in wardrobe boxes and my books in cardboard...and I STILL didn't have enough crates for everything. It doesn't help that you lose some space at the top when you close the thick flaps (they nest down into the crate). You think you'll have enough clearance to fill it to the top...until you actually try to close it and realize the top won't lie flat. I wound up having to remove or rearrange items quite a few times before I got used to that part of the design. Also, the interior walls of the crates are raised/ridged in some spots - another design problem that affects how you pack because you can't just set flat items all along the sides. Finally, the crates only come in one size, and it's not ideal for everything. It's too big to safely pack certain fragile items that should be well padded and nestled in a small box with one or two other things, and too small for anything you'd typically fit into a large cardboard box or just manage to squeeze into medium cardboard (and obviously there's no option for things like pictures & mirrors). Bottom line, they deserve 5 stars because the people who work at Repax rock. I'm glad I used their crates because you absolutely save time not having to build/tape up cardboard boxes and obviously cut WAY down on the environmental impact of moving. I just wish they'd put a bit more thought into the design & size limitations of the crates so I didn't have to supplement with so much cardboard. Oh, and toss in a few more labels, please. You get *exactly* as many as the number of crates you order, so if you smear, tear or screw up on one, you're out of luck. read more

If you are moving Repax is the way to go! Forget cardboard boxes, they drop off plastic containers to you and pick them up when you are all moved in. Customer service is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating and they are willing to work with whatever you need. Plus if you use movers, Repax is a dream for them! Can't say enough great things about this place either! I've moved twice in the last two years and this has changed my move. The boxes are big, sturdy and remove the pain of cardboard which can tear and cant hold that much weight. I comboed repax with movers and they were lifting 70 pound boxes of this stuff. The boxes are also really clean and they give you a bonus tote and water bottle. Just little special touches like that that make you love them more. The customer service is also great. I called to ask for an early pickup because I had to get into work and Scott got their 20 minutes before my window. This guy is the best. Prompt, friendly, and efficient. Give the man a raise. I was initially hesitant to use Repax because their website was a little sketchy and a reservation for boxes required immediate payment to a call-center in Maryland over the phone... Once I got past that though, everything was smooth sailing. I ordered 50 boxes for 1 week from Repax. The call center guys, after some persistent asking, were able to get me some boxes scheduled for next day delivery. Normally they take 24-48 hrs to process an order though, FYI. The boxes themselves are easy to load, I could stack up to 12 in the Honda Pilot I was borrowing for the move. They're very sturdy, I'm not sure what the weight limit is but I loaded quite a few of my old college textbooks in there without any worry of them breaking. Additionally, they provide a rolling dolly to stack the boxes on, so there's not a lot of real carrying going on here...just onto and from the dolly. This service was great because It kept me from wasting time/money searching for old boxes. Additionally, they're so much sturdier and easy to maneuver than flimsy cardboard. You're saving the environment by not buying/trashing cardboard, and having the 1-week window to unpack really forces you to get the unpacking done in a timely manner. I gotta give a major thumbs up to the Customer Service too. Todd Charleson (sales manager) was excellent through the whole process. He gave out his cellphone number in case I needed anything. He delivered the boxes when he said he would, and he picked them up when he said he would. He also checked up on me during the move to make sure I didn't need extra boxes or additional items. This was the 3rd time we have used Repax. We love em! You can't beat the convenience of not having to wrangle up cardboard boxes and tape. Plus the customer service is on point! You can out the heaviest or most fragile items in the crates without breaking or the box bottom falling out. They stack easily and makes it faster and easier for the movers. So the last time I moved in 2010 I used a similar product - rentable and reusable plastic boxes for a residential move. When I moved this year in April, the company I had used before was no longer assisting customers in my area. Thankfully I was referred to a similar provider - Repax. Like my previous move, there is simply no easier, more cost efficient or eco friendly way to move than renting plastic boxes. The crates arrived clean and stackable 2 weeks before my move (just as promised). There were stickers to mark the contents of each box and plastic ties to assure the safety and security of each of my boxes and belongings. As an add-on, I purchased the wrapping paper. I would highly recommend the wrapping paper to anyone using this product. Another suggestion is to order more than you think you will need...chances are, you will need it. The service and pricing were exceptional and I was pleased with the entire experience. From the first call to the last pick-up. This company gets the customer service thing. My only suggestion for Repax would be to add a substitute for the styrofoam peanuts used to pack the fragile items. The previous company I used for my move in 2010 had these cardboard "Expandos" which were a eco friendly alternative to styrofoam and they worked great! This is seriously the best idea in moving since having movers pick up the heavy stuff. The boxes stack so they can deliver 25-50 in a small footprint on dollies before your move without taking up tons of space and you can pack quickly because you can skip building boxes and the movers can stack their truck utilizing the space efficiently because of the uniformity of the crates costing you less overall cubic feet. Everything was delivered on time and they gave me an extra day on the pick up, who could complain about service like that. All of the boxes were in like new condition, clean and fully functional and came with labels and zip ties so I could find everything once it made it to the other side. Overall the cost was on par with what I could order through Amazon prime (delivered to my door) but the green factor really sits well with me here and it gives you an incentive to move in and actually unpack quickly making your new home feel like home immediately. I still can't believe how helpful, nice and accommodating everyone was at each stage of the process. And the service itself is brilliant!
