Awesome place! My daughter and I walking by decided to stop for apps and a drink. We were greeted by an awesome bartender (I got her name but lost the receipt I wrote it down on) Megan I think? Drinks were awesome cold and perfect! The food was delicious probably best chicken tenders we've had. My daughter ordered the chicken tenders with sidewinder fries MUST ORDER their sidewinder Fries. I just had Motz sticks they were delicious didn't have any freezer type flavor tasted fresh and the cheese was perfect amount lots!!! We will be returning next month when we are back in OR.

We stopped here on Christmas Eve to unwind after our family get together. Rennies has been serving the University of Oregon area since 1981, rich in history this is a must stop when visiting the U of O. It is in a converted house and is located on the western edge of campus and just a block from the University of Oregon Bookstore. It is right across the street from the School of Business. They have an outdoor patio both upstairs and on the ground floor. It was not too busy as expected on Christmas Eve and we had the opportunity to interact with the General Manager. Although we only stopped in for drinks, he shared they were making some changes to the menu so the pics I took may not be totally accurate in the near future. The menu looks really good, we wish we weren't so full or we would have tried something! Dad had a coffee, mom had water, my wife had a rum and coke and I had an IPA. We hung out for a little while and checked the place out, I also won $50 playing video lottery. It was really cool to experience and something that has been part of the college scene here for about 40 years. Wishing them another 40 years of success!

Ugh. Frat hellhole with crap prices, bad service and way-too-bright lighting. Yuck. Look out for roofies (seriously). Avoid like the plague.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.

It was thick slab corned beef, perfectly tender. I also got their pretzel with the beer cheese sauce. To be honest, the beer cheese wasn't my favorite...was a little gooopy and the texture wasn't great. But, the pretzel was fantastic. It has the salt, the chew, and it was a great size. I also got their colcannon. It was great! Creamy and delicious. I ordered their brown gravy too because I like gravy with my potatoes and it was hearty and a big side for the price. All in all, i definitely recommend the pint pot!

Big City Gaming and Home Team Kitchen- 4 stars…read more Big City Gaming is a Sports Bar in Eugene. I went here on the 4th of July which is hella less annoying than 4th of July in the Mission in SF aka my hood. So my beloved Lotus Garden aka vegan Chinese food that is fab that I would frequent in the day when in lived in Eugene was closed on the 4th despite their website saying they were open and walked there to find out they only are currently doing take out. Damn like Kendrick Lamar So I walk back to Big City Gaming and the friendly bartender tells me that they have an all vegetarian menu even though it isn't pure veg aka they have non veg too. It's all good baby, baby. I am starving after walking heaps in the hard sun like Eddie Vedder. So I get some water and check out the all veg menu. Upon the bartender's suggestion I go with the jackfruit tacos. They were quite alright aka two corn tortillas filled with generous portions of fajita style grilled jackfruit, topped with cabbage, pico de gallo and our signature avocado crema sauce sprinkled with queso fresco. I decided to add vegan crema and non-dairy cheese for a buck. It hit the spot. I did feel like a fish out of water with all the screens showing baseball as basketball is my jam. I am a huge Warriors fan and sad we lost Donte yet he is going to the Knicks. Cool atmosphere with screens for sports and games such as shooting basketballs in the hoop etc. Recommended for sports night!

I ordered the Country Fried Steak with poached eggs and gravy on the side (because I planned on taking half home and wanted to preserve the breading on the steak). The panko coating on the steak had me intrigued, but it was great! The hashbrowns were pretty tasty, although they could have been crispier. The biscuit was decent, but the flavor of the gravy and the steak brought it all together. The quality reminded me of another sports bar here in Bend that has really good breakfast/brunch foods. I can't really speak to the other dishes but my wife and daughter were very happy with their French Toast and Waffle. I'd def stop back in if I was in the area.

That is the whole point of the sandwich; there's no point to getting it otherwise. It's a HUGE pet peeve of mine to have to check the bag when picking up an order, and I usually forget to do it--as was the case this time, and only when I was home and my sister asked for the jus did we find it was missing. So she then had to go pick up the jus, which was a 20 minute round trip so the sandwiches were cold by that time. I have to say that I was a little surprised that they didn't even offer an extra side of fries or anything for this issue. And it was lucky my sister was here and offered to go pick it up because I would not have been able to pack up my toddler to return to the restaurant for that. The Brussels sprouts were pretty good, as we ordered that for an appetizer. Mom had the fish and chips, and while she said they were fine, she also was surprised that they didn't have a lot of flavor. She was expecting a better batter. They have a children's menu, which was a surprise because when I had originally been looking at their menu online I was expecting to have to order a full entree for my daughter. It was only when I placed the order--which I had to do online; it seems like they don't take orders over the phone--that the children's menu was revealed. I was really looking forward to giving this place a shot and I left a bit underwhelmed. I may come back if circumstances dictate, but I won't make a beeline to return.
