I only started going here about six months ago and after the first time I kept going back. I always sit at the bar. 95% of the bartenders are friendly and outgoing. The beer selection (draught and bottle/can) is wide ranging and the price is on par with what most bars are charging now. There were even Scottish people here during the World Cup '26. (When people say they were EVERYWHERE, I realized at Renegade's how true it was.) If the "No Scotland, No Party" people were there you know the place has to be good. One more thing, (and please don't tell them) the prices on the excellent food they have there are nowhere near what most places charge, including ones nearby. The vegetarian options are delicious and satisfying. So glad I finally got my butt there. read more

It's intimidating to walk into the smallish establishment, but rest assured, you will be waited on. Everything is busy on a Friday and Saturday night. We stayed at a hotel nearby and ordered take out. Our burgers were fantastic, the onion rings are to die for, and we really enjoyed almost every appetizer they had over the next two days. The only negative feedback I have at all is that they're stingy with their ranch. They left it out of both take out orders we placed. I had wings with no ranch, fried pickles with no ranch, it seemed like it was being treated as liquid gold and maybe it is, maybe that's why I'm so salty about it! Lol. This is a local favorite of mine. Typical pub, small and cozy with above average noise level but that's part of the vibe! It's all fairly typical pub fare but it's also very tasty. This was probably the worst burger I've ever had in my life. The bacon was gross, everything was under seasoned and soggy. It felt like I was being punished for ordering it The fries are also gross. The only good in the order was "The DC" chicken sandwich my partner got so we do recommend that at least. All in all I will not be ordering from here again. Renegades is a neighborhood in the East End of Boston with all the necessities for a good night! Whether it's food, the wings or pork shanks, you can't go wrong with either. The drinks are decently priced, not to mention Renegades Whiskey collections reigns supreme. They even have a whiskey club! As a cool laid back spot, it's full of usuals and transients in the area. Shoutout to the staff is as well for keeping the playlist rocking with good tunes. Definitely a must try if in the area. It's not the biggest spot, however that's the essence of Renegades. Joe the bartender is a piece of sht, might be cool with the locals but not empathy whatsoever with others. No patience to explain food or beer on tab, seems annoyed and on a rush even though it's not busy. Confuses the beers, for instance.. he recommended a West coast beer but then turned out to be a different one. He seemed rushed to explain about different sauces for chicken tenders, .... We stumbled into this small dive bar and It's definitely a no-frills kind of place, with reasonably priced food and a cozy cramped vibe. When we arrived, it was crowded and seemed like there was only one guy managing both the bar and the tables. At first, we were genuinely impressed! He was handling everything on his own and keeping up well given the chaos. I ordered a burger, and when he came back to confirm the order, he spoke very quickly and with the noise level inside, it was hard to hear him clearly. The wrong burger ended up being brought to me, but I didn't notice right away. He dropped it off and quickly moved on before I could say anything. By the time I realized it wasn't what I had ordered, I had been sitting with it for about 15 minutes, and my friends had already finished eating. We tried to flag him down and get his attention, but instead of coming over, he turned to us and sarcastically said, "OMG OMG hi hi!! I can wave my hands too!!! You guys are not the only people in this bar, I have other people to serve," and walked away. That moment really soured the experience. I wasn't trying to be difficult -- I just wanted the burger I had originally ordered. After that interaction, I honestly lost my appetite. He came back about 10 minutes after the insanely unnecessary comment and when I explained the issue, he pushed back a bit and came off pretty snarky. At that point, I didn't want to argue. I told him I didn't want any food anymore. We did ask to be reimbursed for the meal I didn't eat. I get that he was stressed. Stopped to grab a bite and for my son to get a drink before dropping off the rental car. We surprisingly found parking right in front. Came in, seat yourself. The waiter/bartender was handling the front himself and he was on top of it! He got us waters while we looked over the menu. My son ordered the DC which is a buttermilk chicken sandwich with a side of onion rings and he couldn't stop talking about how good the onion rings were. They were thin, red onions with a light coating. I had the Ladder 21 burger with onion rings. Delicious and juicy burger and the fried jalapeños knocked it out! We got them plain with sauces on the side. They were hot, tender and so juicy. I got the Renegade burger, it was perfectly cooked and delicious.My kids made their own burger combos my husband got the bandit burger. We all loved it. The fries were hot and perfectly seasoned. After checking into my hotel after a very long and eventful flight, I had a craving for a blue cheese w/bacon cheeseburger, and I felt like that was so specific that I can only make it at home. Enter Renegades Pub. They had exactly what I wanted on their menu, they had a blue cheeseburger that you can modify any way you'd like. You can add onions, remove onion jam, or you can even add onion rings with white or red onions, ( which I thought was crazy). I got the red onion rings, some Cajun fries and my blue cheeseburger. I don't know what type of blue cheese they use or what they put in it, but it was absolutely amazing and the fact that they didn't use traditional lettuce on the burger, they used some sort of greens, amazing! Cool pub in East Boston. Varied rotating draft menu and really good food - available late evening when finding food can be a challenge. I had the namesake burger and it was one of the best burgers I've had in years. Quality meat and cooked perfectly. Opted for a side of onion rings which were out of the ordinary- red onion rings very lightly battered so you could really taste the onion and not feel the guilt of mowing on fried decadence. Awesome hole in the wall pub. Crazy location on the corner (parking is tough!) but totally worth the pop in if you're in the area! Small bar area and a couple tables inside.Awesome staff (though understaffed) and the TVs always have sports on! Beers are cold (great local craft selection) and really cool almost dive atmosphere with killer pub food. Pop in, you won't be disappointed! We've been to their Londonderry location and it's been a fam fave for years so it was cool to stop in here. Omg that fried chicken sandwich..... seriously was one of the best I have ever encountered. The rings that were fried on top were fresh and the fried pickles were a nice touch!! Flavor was great and it was not dry. I was so happy about it! It was so good I did not even share a bite with the hubby The hubby had the burger with chipotle sauce and peppers and he enjoyed his as well. The fries were also nice and fresh and not salty. Service was great as we walked in and told the bartender we just wanted to order to go. She was really sweet took our orders and we just sat down and relaxed.
