I say "some" as I have a very bad case of back pain since I haven't had any massages for over a year. The best part of the experience, for me, were the head massages. It was soothing. I wish it lasted longer, I'd probably would've fallen asleep. I will update my review maybe after a few more sessions. As for the staff, they were friendly. I had an issue as they cancelled my husband's appointment, thinking it was scheduled by their other staff in error because I had that staff just use my number. It was nice of them to make sure I got the appointment back but I had to ask and tell them that it will be a problem for us to re-schedule. I think offering to fix it the moment they found out they made the mistake of cancelling it should have been done right away, instead of waiting for customer to ask.

She checked on the room to make sure everything was ready, then guided me through what to expect. Even without actual doors, the curtains were thick and heavy, so it still felt private. My masseuse, Mimi, was amazing--she checked in throughout the massage, and her pressure was perfect. I'm definitely coming back any time I'm in the area!

Lois is just one of the very best massage therapists on earth. I am a very long term massage…read moreperson and have had massages all over the world. There are a few top notch therapists that I am so lucky to have met, and Lois is in my top three. She is expert in many forms of massage, but more importantly, the atmosphere she creates is beyond what most places offer. She is divine. I don't live in California anymore, but when I visit, Serenity Sol is a must on my list.

She may be tiny, but she is STRONG!! She has different massages and packages that you can choose from. I normally go between "The Escape" (focuses on the back of the body) and "The Exhale" (total body) massages. Ms Lois keeps track of your massages and makes great recommendations on what you may need. She really listens to whatever your concerns may be and will tailor your massage based on what you want. I try to work out at least 3-4 times a week, so I try to alternate my massages based on how I am feeling and how long it has been since my previous massage. Let me tell you, if I could get a massage every week, I absolutely would. Especially from Ms. Lois!! She is the absolute greatest. She is so kind and has such a beautiful spirit. Trust me, if you want a great massage and want to feel better than when you arrived...book Ms. Lois NOW!! You will definitely be a fan after the first massage (: p.s. she always has a treat for you after your massage which is a plus in my book!

For my second visit, I got Tracy as a masseuse…read more I originally requested to have Amy, but the owner Jimmy was very helpful over Yelp messages. He recommended I book an appointment with Tracy, as her techniques were very similar to what I enjoyed during my first time at Silver Oak Massage. Overview: - Great pressure: I hold a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck. The neck is a sensitive area for most, but Tracy navigated the knots well and made sure I felt comfortable during my appointment. - Received feedback/direction well: I told the staff upfront I had new lobe piercings and that my ears could not be touched. Didn't have to worry about that one bit. Also, one spot in my lower back was very tender - had to ask her to use a slightly gentler touch and she accommodated right away. - Tail end of appt, head massage: so good I dozed off for a few mins - Lavender oil: felt nice when applied, but I likely won't splurge for it the next time I stop by Had another great experience AND another stamp for my stamp card. Very soothing. Got my tension in shoulders and back of arms swept away! This place has massage therapists true to their craft.

The good: I was gifted a Christmas Groupon for this place…read morefor a 90 minute massage with hot stones. I made an appointment through their online messaging portal and that was easy. I liked the ambient music and lighting. It looks like they offer Thai-style massages too based on how the rooms had bars on the ceiling. The massage is a great value. I liked the foot soak in the warm water. The bad: The neighboring client kept making grunting sounds and farting. The "medium" pressure massage was really weak and soft. I generally think medium pressure is already slightly too much but this one felt like there wasn't a lot of therapeutic benefit due to the lack of pressure. The therapist didn't locate and massage out the knots in my back. There were people gathered around outside chitchatting and you could hear them from inside. There was someone watching a movie inside the store and I could hear their phone audio throughout my massage. I was cold most of my massage. I think maybe the 2nd room with the table possibly had a heater option but I wasn't offered it. The interesting: The massage was broken up into two segments. Normally, at most massage places you're in one room and you're on your stomach first then your back. However, here, you're on your back first in a different area with your clothes on and then transferred to a different room on your stomach with your clothes off. During the first half of the massage, they sprayed rose water in my face without announcing it. I didn't mind but found it a little humorous that it was a bit sudden.

A Truly Exceptional Deep Tissue Experience at Busaba Thai Massage…read more If you're looking for a massage that actually fixes the problem instead of just feeling good for an hour, Busaba Thai Massage in Torrance is on another level. From the moment I walked in, the space felt clean, calm, and professional. But what really sets them apart is the skill level. This is not your typical "relaxation" massage. Their deep tissue work is precise, intentional, and incredibly effective. I came in with serious tightness in my upper back, stubborn knots around my shoulder blades, and lingering sciatic pain that had been flaring up. Within minutes, it was clear I was in expert hands. The therapist worked with a level of anatomical understanding that honestly felt surgical. They weren't randomly applying pressure -- they were methodically tracing muscle lines, identifying adhesions, and releasing tension point by point. The way they addressed my sciatica was especially impressive. Instead of just focusing on the lower back, they worked through the glutes, hips, and surrounding muscle groups that contribute to nerve compression. You can tell they truly understand how the body connects and compensates. The pressure was strong (as requested), but controlled and purposeful. Every knot was addressed. Every tight band of muscle was worked through with patience and precision. It was intense at times -- in that "this is exactly what my body needed" kind of way -- and the relief afterward was immediate. By the end of the session: My range of motion noticeably improved The chronic tightness in my shoulders was dramatically reduced My sciatic discomfort felt lighter and less reactive I walked out feeling aligned, mobile, and reset This isn't just a massage -- it's corrective bodywork done by professionals who clearly know anatomy and take pride in their craft. If you sit at a desk all day, lift heavy, train hard, deal with chronic tightness, or struggle with sciatica, do yourself a favor and book here. Busaba Thai Massage delivers real results. I'll absolutely be back. Easily one of the best deep tissue massages I've had in the South Bay.

The good: My husband purchased 5 hours worth of massages…read morefrom here for me as a gift. I did the mixed Thai with Swedish massage. It was my first time trying Thai massage (they use their elbows, legs arms and feet and use bars on the ceiling to balance themselves as they massage you). I think I'll stick to Swedish massage because the Thai massage was a little intense for me. However, I can see how Thai massages would be great for folks who need a deep tissue massage or folks who like strong pressure. The bad: I wish they had an online booking option. They have a clear sign with the suggested and preferred amount of tip dependent on how many hours your massage was. Upon finishing the massage, the receptionist handed me the tip envelope. I didn't love how expected tips were. I had knots in my upper back that the massage therapist could feel but at the end of the session she didn't dissolve them. Normally, they're dissolved at the end of my massage sessions at other studios. The interesting: They had signs warning people that sexual harassment isn't permitted.
