I tried their deep tissue massage for 90 minutes and while I did not feel that it focused more on my shoulders as I hoped for when I was asked what my problem area is, my masseuse (Amy) actually provided a satisfying full body massage which gave me some relief. I say "some" as I have a very bad case of back pain since I haven't had any massages for over a year. The best part of the experience, for me, were the head massages. It was soothing. I wish it lasted longer, I'd probably would've fallen asleep. I will update my review maybe after a few more sessions. As for the staff, they were friendly. I had an issue as they cancelled my husband's appointment, thinking it was scheduled by their other staff in error because I had that staff just use my number. It was nice of them to make sure I got the appointment back but I had to ask and tell them that it will be a problem for us to re-schedule. My mom has been nudging me for weeks to try out Bonita Massage Spa because she goes almost every single week and absolutely loves it. I finally decided to book a session because I'd been having some lower back pain, and a massage sounded like a great idea. Getting an appointment was super easy, I just called them up, and they slotted me in for a Monday evening. They have individual rooms that are nice and quiet, and I chose the Thai-Swedish combination massage, which is a mix of deeper, firmer Thai techniques with gentler Swedish kneading and oil. It really gave me the best of both worlds! During the massage, they focused a lot on my lower back since I mentioned that was bothering me. The therapist, Vanisa who came highly recommended by my mom, went a bit deeper on my neck area as well, and it felt amazing. I was a little sore the next day, which is normal, and now a couple of days later, my back definitely feels better. Not a miracle cure, but definitely some real relief! They did offer to walk on my back, but I opted out this time since my back was tender. I think I'll give that a try in the future. Next time, I'm actually really excited to try their hot stone massage, because Vanisa let me feel a bit of that at the end and it was super relaxing. The spa is in a plaza near IKEA in Carson, so it's easy to find. There's usually plenty of parking, my son found a spot easily when he dropped me off. They do ask for payment upfront and only take cash, Venmo, or Zelle, so just be prepared for that. They give you a little envelope for tips afterward, which is a nice touch. I booked this spa for the first time for my husband's birthday. We both did the Thai massage where they walk on your back. It was awesome! The massage really worked my muscles without being too hard. The part where they walk on your back was excellent! They really pinpointed the spots that needed it. The massage was very relaxing when they got to the part of massaging with their hands. Next time I will have them work on my feet longer. The customer service was friendly and knowledgeable. The spa itself was pleasant, clean and neat with individual rooms. As a first timer, I went with the deep tissue but kind of wished that I got a Swedish. I didn't realize how intense the deep tissue massage would be and I was aware that there would be some pain for a short time however the pain lasted a little longer than expected... the quality was ok and I did have to say, "ouch!" once but after that, the intensity lessened. As a regular customer getting monthly massages since early 2024, I was disappointed to recently discover they had blocked my phone number over what they considered a "bad tip." I was never informed of any tipping policy during my 1.5 years of visits nor that this one time the tip was insufficient. After repeated unanswered calls and texts trying to make an appointment, I stopped by in person and was told this by the front desk that my number was blocked for this reason. She kept commenting on how small I was, and the massage itself was a bit too gentle to really work out the knots in my neck and shoulders. We also had a language barrier. she asked if I wanted some "icee cold" on my back, which I didn't fully understand at the time. I would have declined, since the sensation triggers my anxiety. Unfortunately, she applied it anyway, leaving my back exposed and making me feel freezing for most of the session. The service i asked for was the 90 mins Swedish massage. To begin with, I was hurting more AFTER the massage. The lady started out with super high pressure and i asked her to go with support light pressure especially around my shoulder since i have pain in those spots. She said sorry but continued to apply heavy pressure which made me super uncomfortable. Further, to massage my back she put her knees on my butt and was balancing on me while applying pressure to massage my back. You can only imagine how painful AND UNCOMFORTABLE that can be. The front desk had a piece of paper with tip calculated for each massage type and you were expected to give atleast a 18% tip which I think is crazy to ask for before even experiencing the massage. After the massage was done i came out to the desk and she handed me an envelope and said to put my tip in there so basically implying I HAVE to tip regardless. I dont like this attitude as this place eas expensive than my usual spot but i wanted to experience this in case it was way better but alas! Located right next to my favourite Boba spot in all of Florida, or at least in South Florida, is this super cute Spa with super friendly people who may or may not have the same owners as their nextdoor eighbours at the Boba spot. I hung out here after getting into a chat at the tea shop with one of them, and they told me their stories and I think they're great people. This has long been my my secret spot to go and get massages because it has always been reasonably priced and the employees have always been kind to me and convenient. My last visit was great, per usual except there was a lady in the room across from mine giving her massage therapist hell. By listening to her voice, she was an older woman and basically everything hurt her but she spoke to her therapist in the rudest of ways and was very demanding, and not in a kind or considerate way. She disrupted my massage session multiple times over the course of my 90 minute massage with how loud she was talking and how much she was complaining. I felt so bad after my massage for the therapist who had her that I made sure to tip her too while tipping my own therapist at checkout. Very clean and professional place. I was very impressed with this place. I went for a Thai-Swedish massage and it's a FULL body massage. When you enter, you remove all your clothes except underwear. I enjoyed their techniques which included, hot stones, hot towels, some sort of tiger balm/icy-hot oil, and getting stepped on, for the Thai-Swedish massage. She would pinch and also try to do certain things to my neck which I did not like. They are not medical professionals and one wrong move in your neck, you can get paralyzed. The main reason for 3 stars only was 1)during my massage I could easily hear other masseusses walking by or talking. I don't mind some noise but this felt pretty loud for a massage parlor. 2) I don't remember the name of the lady that helped me but she asked if she could massage me by stepping on my back and I said yes and felt she basically spent most of her time doing just that.
