I have been coming to see Masako (the Owner) in the last 6 months or so and I must say, she is one of the most intuitive, and knowledgable Massage Therapists I've had. Her techniques are a mix of traditional relaxing swedish massage, deep tissue strokes with some shiatsu components (and naturally depending on what you like or what your body needs!). I have been getting regular massages in the last 20+ years, so I'd like to think I know at this point when a massage is good or not. Masako is sensitive to her client's well being, respectful and very intuitive to what the client needs. This place is nothing fancy, but it's very clean, nice and simple and I think it's a perfect space to get relaxed. If you're simply looking for a great massage, this is THE PLACE TO GO! read more

I recently got a full body massage here, and it was exactly the kind of experience that reminds you why self‑care matters. The moment I walked in, the place felt clean, calm, and well‑kept -- the kind of environment that instantly puts you at ease. The staff was friendly from start to finish, and my massage tech was clearly experienced and skilled at their craft. They listened, understood what I needed, and truly hit all the right spots. Every movement felt intentional, and by the end, I walked out feeling like a completely relaxed person. Pricing was fair for the quality of service I received -- honestly, it felt like great value for the level of professionalism and care. I'll definitely be making an appointment again. Thank you for such a rejuvenating experience. Miguel C. read more

Sooo accommodating to our needs and very relaxing environment. Staff is very professional and caring they do their job very well.

I had to coexistence with pain for many years. I have also tried different massage parlors (ranging $ to $$$). But, this place is phenomenal. I would recommend here if you know anyone who has to endure so much pain. For anyone who is new to massages, please be aware that massage is just not about the brutal force. It is a beautiful balance of technique and pressure points. Everyday your pressure builds up in different places. The therapist/owner will analyze and find the best massaging mechanism for your condition of the day. I genuinely recommend this place to anyone. read more

I'm truly thankful and grateful for Masako and Massage & Spa ME. By far the best masseuse in the South Bay. She has a gift that keeps giving for stress. She applies perfect pressure to get out the knots in my shoulders and neck area. Forever a customer. read more

Awesome! I was very happy with my massage, body scrub and the atmosphere. Exactly what I was looking for and reasonably priced.

Not only does he give me a massage, but he also gives me advice on what is wrong with my shoulders and what I should do to take care of them. Thanks again! read more

Masako is amazing and pretty affordable. Would not consider going to any other masseuse!

The absolute best. Immediately I was impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism of the place. Over the past 10 yrs, I have had chronic pain in my low back. After I got a massage by Masako, she was able to pinpoint the cause of the pain and her massage gave me relief for days. I continue to come here . read more

I left here feeling like jello. I just had an amazing 1 hour Swedish massage, my therapist was Miayako, she was in tune with my body and concentrated on areas I asked her to. I asked for medium pressure and that was what I got, I liked the fact that she used a lot of oil because I don't like friction, and I didn't feel oily afterwards, yay! They're doing a $45 1 Hour special right now. I am definitely coming back. I hope the next person has the same wonderful experience I had :). read more

I am a male college student and it was my first time getting a real massage. I was browsing the market for Licensed/Certified massage therapists and I stumbled upon Massage and Spa and saw that they had all 5-Star reviews. I called them and set up an appointment the same day, hassle-free. I came in, was greeted by a very sweet and courteous woman, filled out a liability form and was escorted to my room. For the most part, I received a full body massage and she knew it was my first time so she did a mixture of Swedish with some slightly deeper pressure near my shoulder and upper back. Due to the fact that I have never experienced a real massage before, I have nothing to compare it to; however, I was in absolute bliss the entire time. Even when it was painful, it felt amazing. After my massage, she briefed me on what she did and what I should concentrate on next time. I got a complimentary water bottle and a stamp card as well. For $45 and the tip I gave, this was an awesome experience and I am definitely a loyal and regular customer now! read more

My first time here. Masako was very good! She focused on my problem areas and even though we ran out of time, I feel so much better! I will be coming back! read more

I've searched and searched & came out with feeling amazing my masseuse focused on the spots I told her my body was ridiculously tenses and in pain i only paid $45 for an entire hour oh nothing heaven I'm definitely coming back for more sessions the great part about it is that's it's walking distance from my home thank you thank you for making me feel better read more

Sorry, but this was probably one of the worst massages I've ever received. The lady asked if there were any places that she should focus on and I said, "yes, my shoulders." She massaged as if she had never given a massage before, it was very odd. read more

There are few things more irritating than a weak massage. It feels like a tease. You book an appointment for a massage hoping to feel relaxed and have your knots loosened up. After going through the trouble to undress and lay butt naked in a foreign bed and be touched by foreign hands, you hardly feel any pressure. You get so annoyed that you CAN'T relax, and the climatic feeling of having those knots worked on never occurs. It's seriously a buzzkill. That's what happened here. I found this place on Yelp. At the time, it had 9 reviews, all 5 stars. I called and booked an appointment 20 minutes in advance and drove over, excited to get a much needed massage. Before the massage, I was given a selection of oil - tea tree/lemon, ginger, lavender, or orange. I chose tea tree/lemon. My masseuse turned out to be the same person who greeted me at the front desk- a soft spoken lady with a thick accent and polite demeanor. The massage began. I purchased a 60 minute massage for $45. It seemed as though the masseuse tried her best to avoid using her fingers to give me a real massage. She kept pressing down with her palms, gliding with her elbow, and stroking/rubbing my back with her palms. None of that did much for me. I was desperate to feel a real massage and have my knots worked on. I told her "more pressure please" 7 times total. I even showed her how I wanted to have my knots worked on by squeezing my own upper back with my own fingers. Her response was, "He-ah?" as she pointed at the spot. Then she proceeded to work on that spot by petting it. I gave up. There seems to be a language barrier, or she conveniently didn't understand so she can keep doing the effortless motions of pressing down with her palms and gliding up and down my back with oily elbows. The only time it felt decent was when she was working on my left leg. She actually applied enough pressure when she used her hands to grab my whole leg. But when she moved on to my right leg, it was back to the weak stroking and rubbing with oil. I think this lack of consistency goes to show how inexperienced the masseuse was - but a broken clock is right twice a day. I left the massage parlor feeling cheated and dissatisfied. I consider it to be 2 hours (took time to drive there and back, and had to go home to shower afterwards) and $52 (after tip) wasted. A few things I learned: -If you have to tell the masseuse "more pressure" 5 times in the first ten minutes... the massage isn't going to get any better. If you want to avoid a bad experience, try to get prorated and leave to save your time and money. -Avoid new massage parlors. There is probably a much greater chance of having an inexperienced masseuse. -Ask specifically what kind of massage they give before booking an appointment. I don't know what the hell kind of massage I got at this place. Aromatherapy rub? If you want the same kind of massage I do, tell them specifically you want a deep tissue massage and have knots worked on before you go there and get butt naked. I would give 1.5 stars for the massage alone. The overall rating is 2 stars for the effort, polite demeanor, and clean parlor. read more

The place is nice and the lady was nice but the massage was below average! Not strong enough nor did she focus on what I asked her to. I won't be going back here that's for sure and do not recommend this place to anyone else! The price is great but the massage blows! read more

This was my first time for me. The store was clean and stuff were very nice and did great job. I totally knocked out while taking massage. Definitely I will go back next time! read more

Masako is unbelievable! I went in feeling so much back pain and in one hour she took it away. I expected to feel better but wow...I walked out brand new. She is really good at finding all those hidden points of stress and tension causing larger issues. I can't wait to go back! read more

Because Gardena up the street was closed and in renovation, I drove down the street, and u-turned to go to this place--which I saw out the corner of my eye. VERY nice. GREAT atmosphere and aromatherapy. I forgot her name , but she was very pleasant, nice, we laughed alot, and has the most fabulous hands ( i knew I was in horrible shape and would be in pain--as now). Great atmosphere, decor, small, quaint, pleasant and warm fragrance, takes credit cards, and comfortable. Will be back. $49 for one hour, and a happy hour (discount) during the week before noon. They also have a stamp card to mark your visits. read more

Great massage for a reasonable price! I've had massages at luxury spas and therapeutic places but this place has been the best... Forget about Massage Envy! I've had massages by Moto and Mariko, and they both did a fantastic job. I'm now a regular customer; 1-2 times a month. read more

If I could give Misako (the owner) 10 stars on Yelp, I surely would! I've been coming here for massages for 6 years now. This is the ONLY place I will go to for a massage anymore. I have never been disappointed with my massages here. I come here for a massage about once per month. It is also the cleanest and one of the most serene massage facilities I have ever been too and I have been to them all! The floors are so clean you could eat from them & the walls are a soothing sage green color. The music is also very calming & peaceful! Then there's the price for what you are getting. I only go for 2 hour massages as I cannot get relaxed enough in only one hour. Where else can you get an amazing 2 hour massage for $90 + tip? I have no idea what some of these other people are talking about by giving this business only 1 or 2 stars. This truly hurts a small business when you post a review that is not true. If the massage wasn't the right strength for your liking all you have to do is communicate with the therapist. That's how it works wherever you get a massage. I also buy gift certificates here for my friends & clients. The perfect gift! Can't wait for my next massage..... :-) read more

I thought I would try this place out, in search of someone who actually knew real massage techniques. The people that work here know what they are doing and all of them are very nice. The spa itself is very clean and has a nice feel to it. Rates are reasonable, and they have a discounted time...I think before 1pm? Where you get more massage minutes for less money. Just to be clear, no one has paid me to say this. These ladies do a great job at making sure they address your sore spots. I have stopped going to those $25 an hour/foot massage places because usually, in my own opinion, they are trained poorly, and tend to use a lot of elbow on your back. To me that is a sign of quick training. So for me, it is worth coming to this place. And all I can is I went in with a stiff neck and shoulders. I left feeling like my shoulders were tingly and I could move my neck again. I am a loyal customer now. read more

I had a massage from this place and it was great! I am a female and was in need of a massage. Went for a Swedish massage. Didn't expect much but it definitely exceeded my expectation. It is located in a small shopping/business complex but the appearance/location will definitely fool you. The staff are very courteous. Not to mention, the prices are great too. I am going back to place and would definitely recommend this to my friends. read more
