I've been going here for a few years and this will be last time. My masseuse Wally was eating food during my massage.. I noticed every few minutes he stopped and I heard a sound like wrapper crinkling. First I was tried to block it out and convince myself it was nothing, but then I started smelling the food. When he took his next "mini lunch break" I got up and asked him if he was eating. He quickly tried to hide it and denied it. When he did it again I stopped the massage altogether. I spoke to the first desk lady. She apologized and didn't charge me anything. While I was talking to her, Wally tried multiple times to defend himself and I shut it down because he would flip flop between making excuses or just denying it saying he was only drinking sips of his soda. Crazy because 3 secs ago I saw a burger wrapper with fries inside before he threw it out. Eventually he got frustrated and drove off and left the place during his shift.... I wish I was making this stuff up. read more

My friend and I had amazing 60minute massages by Ann and Jasmine. String and therapeutic. 60 minutes for $68 before tip. They get a 5/5 rating. You don't remove your clothing (it's not allowed) as the five beds are all open and next to each other in the one large room. My only complaint is the front receptionist who is an older lady. There's no greeting or acknowledgement of your arrival. She's not welcoming or pleasant. Phone ringer volume is off the charts loud and you have to listen to it ring or her loud conversation with callers throughout your massage. She's a 1/5 but Ann and Jasmines massages save this place's rating. read more

I had a deeply uncomfortable experience at Hide's Shiatsu in Gardena today. I had a 2:00 p.m. massage scheduled, and unfortunately, it was the worst and most uncomfortable massage experience I've ever had. During approximately the first 5-10 minutes, the male masseuse repeatedly pressed his groin against my arm while massaging me. At first, I assumed it was accidental and expected him to reposition himself. Instead, it continued. At one point, he positioned my hands facing upward and slowly moved closer until I could feel his groin against the bottom of my wrist. That was when I immediately moved my hand away and told him he was too close to me. The situation made me extremely uncomfortable. I spent part of the massage genuinely questioning whether what was happening was intentional and whether I, a 33-year-old large man, was being sexually assaulted by this masseuse. Regardless of his intent, no client should be put in a position where they are questioning something like that during a professional massage. After I told him he was too close, the remainder of the massage was also unpleasant. The pressure was extremely rough and painful despite me telling him at least six separate times that he was pressing too hard. He also repeatedly rubbed my shirt against my skin with enough force that the friction left my skin feeling like it had rug burn. Whether the inappropriate physical contact was intentional or the result of extremely poor professional boundaries, I can only describe my experience as disturbing and uncomfortable. A massage is supposed to be a setting where you can relax and trust the person providing the service. Instead, I spent much of mine uncomfortable, on edge, and questioning what was happening. I can confidently say this was the worst massage experience I have ever had. I will not be returning. read more

This is a budget friendly no frills shiatsu massage parlor. There's no individual rooms, or even room dividers. Everything is out in the open. The beds and equipments are also dated and not exactly the cleanest. Appointments can be easily made online or by calling. My masseuse was excellent. He will stretch you in ways you didn't know you could. The constant placement of white cloth onto my face felt absolutely suffocating. Felt like I couldn't breathe and actually very unpleasant. Getting beads of sweat dripping right onto me coming from the masseuse also grossed me out. I appreciate his hard work and effort he put forth but it was a bit much for me. Perhaps this place isn't so bad for those who enjoys their routine 30 minutes massage. No sweat coming from anybody. Don't sign up for a 90-minute session if you're looking for a relaxing massage. It's not relaxing hearing commotions of people coming in and out, having no privacy between tables, and having to smell other people's residues through the headrests/table/or face cloths. Parking is free and you can pay by card. Would I return again? Maybe. Maybe not. Perhaps for a shorter session if there's a next time. read more

My husband and I often dine at Torimatsu next door and had long been curious about Hide's Shiatsu, so we decided to stop in today for a quick massage. I was assigned to Jessica, and my husband saw James. Unfortunately, my experience with Jessica was frustrating. Since I booked a 30-minute massage, I specifically asked her to focus on my neck and shoulders, but she repeatedly moved down to my hips and thighs instead. The pressure was also inconsistent, alternating between very light rubbing and sudden, intense elbow pressure. As a result, my neck and shoulders (the areas I needed the most work on) were barely addressed. On the positive side, my husband really enjoyed his massage with James. I'd consider returning, but would likely request a different therapist next time. read more

I had an appointment today with Sunny. The lady in front ask me to pay in advance RED FLAG I should have known. This man was as old as my mother. He shouldn't be doing this. I came in because I been struggling with 3 herniated discs and sciatica. My pain is a lot better. I been to many massage places. I know what to expect. I'm very disappointed. I really needed that extra hands to relieve some pain from my body. Sunny was just tapping on me and honestly when he was around my Buttocks I just got up and left. It felt like he was feeling on me so I STOPPED him!!! read more

Hide's Shiatsu - Massage Near Me - Gardena, California

No frills, reliable, and always feel great after! My boyfriend had Peter and I had James. We are both training for our first ever marathon so both of us have felt very sore and stiff. Omg this massage was truly painful but we felt so much better afterwards!!! James was fantastic and constantly checking in on the pressure. I think I can normally handle medium-hard pressure pretty well at the Torrance location but I had to tap out a couple times. He was great though!! He genuinely seems to care about the details and maes sure that all my concerns are addressed. The location is very clean as well but don't be caught off guard because everyone gets massaged in the same room. Tea and water are free afterwards and parking is normally pretty easy. read more

Jason is the go-to expert at this place, I used to schedule my sessions with Peter but he's a much elderly male now and no longer has the strength to deep tissue my sciatica, I was randomly scheduled with Jason and haven't looked back since, I come once a week, working in IT I do sit around a lot, which contributes to poor sitting posture and this place fixes me up! read more

Randomly picked James. His touch is very intentional like even though he is still a big new he will become the GOAT!! Very good, very strong and felt each touch with thought and sincerity!! Will be back!! read more

Sunny is the GOAT. I've been experiencing muscle and fascia tightness, numbness, and pain. I've been coming here the past couple months, and my body feels looser, lighter, and more flexible. Every session I've had with him has been profoundly healing, and he always manages to put me into a deep relaxation and sleep every time. Jason is also great. I've only had one session with him, but his massage was excellent and also helped me with a lot of the tension and pain I was experiencing. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, and the front desk ladies are so kind. I had forgotten my bracelet under one of the tables, and they safeguarded it in an envelope and gave it to me on the next visit, even though I had forgotten about it! Such an honest, hard-working, and harmonious staff. I highly recommend this place. read more

Wally was amazing on his Shiatsu techniques. I got stretched heavily but it helped me so much also with my knots, lower back pain, and alignment. Great job. Front desk is kind and helpful read more

I was really exited about this place. I went the first with Jason who was amazing and really relieve my hip pain. I was excited to make a second appointment and requested deep tissue. When I arrived I was placed with Sunny, he was nice but i do not believe he should be giving massage for people who request deep tissue. I asked him several times for pressure to which he complained and said he couldn't and his hands hurt. I then asked to stop the massage. I ends up coming out with more pain then when i came in. I was the. charred $45 even though he worked in me for 30min. This place is a rip off read more

I highly recommend Ryan. He helped me with my shoulder/neck issue. He got right to the point and was attentive to what I asked for. I felt immediate relief after the 60min session read more

I've been coming here for years. Their receptionists are hit or miss. I could deal with it as long as the massage was good. This last time missed the mark. The massage at best was OK. What really annoyed me is the unmanned desk. There's a sign telling you to turn off your device. Fine. But, when the receptionist is not at her desk, no one answers the phone. And there's 2 ringers going off. And then the answering machine goes on. You can hear all of this. The phones rang at least 6 times with the answering machine. Plus the door was opened so you could hear the outside noise. And it was warm in there, especially under a sheet. Not a comfortable relaxing environment at all. read more

I've been coming here for years, but my most recent visit was disappointing. When I arrived, the person who turned out to be my massage therapist was sitting at the front and initially appeared to be a delivery driver. While appearance isn't everything, the session itself was the real issue--it was by far the worst massage I've ever received. There was minimal technique or pressure; it felt more like light touching than an actual massage. I've always appreciated the quality of service from the experienced therapists here, but this visit fell far short of expectations. I understand if the business is trying to diversify, but this approach compromises the standard of care longtime customers have come to expect. read more

Great service for a great price. Love this spot for massages, very talented staff and with a lovely ambiance.

Came here today to treat my boyfriend for his birthday. We've been to the other location in Torrance, but I can attest that this location also has great masseuses! He was able to quickly identify the tight spots and I felt like a new person afterwards. read more

Very good massage at reasonable price! Visited 3 times now and different person every time but they are all good. I wish 30min is full 30 min though, but usually ends few to 5 min early. read more

May I suggest that the grumpy, older receptionist in Gardena on Monday, Jan 12th stop using hands free on the phone? The therapists work to keep their voices low, the music is soft and then the receptionist plays the messages and talks on the phone and everybody feels this interruption. It's a buzz kill for a restful massage. read more

I came in here and my neck was in such pain. I was luckily able to get a walk in appointment with David. This was hands down one of the best massages I have ever had. I don't get massages often so I never realize how tight I am. I had a fantastic experience! I'd definitely recommend to anyone especially if you're in the southbay! read more

Sonny is great he fixed my left siatic nerve problem in my lower back, it took about six sessions. But its no pain no gain he really puts a lot on pressure on your tight tendons. read more

Hidè's Shiatsu always has its front door open which is reassuring since circulating fresh air dilutes and flushes out any bacteria or virus so infection rate is lowered. There is disinfectant hand gel conveniently at the reception which has a plastic shield.  指圧/Shiatsu (shee ah tsoo) means finger pressure in Japanese. There are different pressure points in the body that coincide with Chakras. Accupressure tries to unblock the various Chakras for more flowing energy throughout the body.    Fees are $1 per mInute in 15 minute increments. I opt for 45 minutes. Tip your masseur accordingly.  There  are 5 massage tables with no partitions. Every time I have been here I was way over 6 feet away from other customers since there was only one other guest.  However, if all 5 tables were used, the physical separation may be closer to  6 feet.  Leave your mask on at all times.  Take off any watches, wallets, cell phone, etc out of your pickets. A tray is provided which they slip under the massage table.  Keep your clothes on, but take your shoes off. A sheet is placed over you, and you're mostly massaged through the sheet.  Takè (tah keh) is my masseur. He will ask  where in your body you are hurting.  Very instinctive in knowing where your kinks & weak spots are, and works on them to just beyond the point of comfort. (Remember, no pain, no gain.)   Nondescript, quiet, soothing music lulls you at Hidè (hee deh). Takè pretty much does a full body massage. Time flies quickly. Great to have a body tune up now and then. I highly recommend Takè who is very competent at his craft.  Takè disinfects and cleans tbe massage table after very customer. The whole establishment seems clean so I feel reassured and safe during the PandemIc.  5- stars      FYI: Masseur is male;  Masseuse is female. Walk in possible, but reservation recommended. Second location is  2396 Crenshaw Blvd, Ste B, Torrance, CA 90501   (424) 558-3209 read more

Wifey and I came here on the recommendation from a friend to help with muscle soreness. Making an appointment is easy via the phone. Clean, quiet location with very knowledgeable and experienced staff! Shiatsu is a great option if you want the relief of a massage without oil or lotions. Will definitely be back! read more

Nice clean spot. Straight forward. Nice front desk service. Great first experience with Sunny. Will be back!

Best ever! Massage is perfect very very active doing what I was hoping for which was releasing trigger points and adhesions in my tendons or arms, as well as parts of my shoulder, which have been locked up for years not just a massage, but felt like a body healing treatment. I think I'm walking straight, instead of crooked for the first time in a very long time. Added bonus they have great parking and it easy to get to location. read more

Female receptionist (7/21 4:00pm) was exceptionally rude and curt. I attempted to make 2 appts, but she was unwilling to book 2 masseuses with strong hands for the requested day. She stated they were all strong and was adamant that I choose who I wanted! I've never been there, so how would I know who to request?? I have never come across any receptionist in my decades of having massages, who wouldn't want to assist me with my particular request. Receptionist then told me to choose from 4 available masseuses for the particular day/time requested, so I chose two names and then she tells me that I need to call back because she has other calls she needs to take. Really? I repeated that I would like to book 2 appts with the 2 masseuses available who I chose, and she repeated that I need to call back! Surely a business where it appears that they don't need or desire loyal clientele to prosper. read more

Made an appointment for one hour. When I arrived I asked if it was possible to change my time to 90 minutes. They were able to accommodate my request. Sunny worked on me and he was absolutely amazing. My shoulder has really been bothering me for the past couple of days and my neck. Sunny's magic hands and elbows knew exactly what he was doing. The pressure was perfect. What I didn't care for is it's too bright and can get loud when people walk in asking questions. I little barrier to help break up the noise and dimming the lights would be my suggestion. However this place is very convenient and has long hours. I will be back - soon. I might have to take Sunny home with me. :) read more

I've been coming for a few years now. I like the service especially that they don't pressure customers to tip what they want, but what we want based on the service. Jessica and Sunny are the best! I just wish it was more private and not in the open with the bright lights. I remember in the past it was more private, dark and dim. read more

I love how clean and professional the environment is here. I never wait more than a few minutes when I make an appointment.

Super pleased with how my massage went, first time customer who will be coming back. Went in with neck, back and shoulder pain, then after an hour massage I left feeling relaxed and without pain. Will be going back. read more

Walked in. Asked for a 45 minute massage and one was available about 20 minutes later My therapist was a very gentle and kind person but when I see Shiatsu I think: semi hardcore modality Or at least ask me if I want soft, medium or hard ‍ Nope This was the softest / gentlest massage of my life as if he was afraid to break me. Or maybe he sees women as fragile 51 bucks before tip is not how I want to spend my money on an extremely soft massage read more
