I went last week with my friend, and let's just say the experience wasn't great. I was assigned a male masseuse, but at the end a female finished the massage. The male masseuse left the room and came back at least twice during the session. I booked the same massage I always get, but this time I didn't receive the hot stones, or any massage on my arms, hands, head, neck, or ears like I usually do. My friend did receive all of that, which I'm glad about since I recommended the place to her, but overall my experience wasn't good. I've been coming here for years and have always loved their foot massages, which is why today's experience was so disappointing. Today's 60-minute massage missed the basics. There was no foot soak at all, just an hour of feet being rubbed. I also added the foot scrub, which I expected would involve water, but again there was none. The scrub wasn't even applied to my heels--it was rubbed on the top of my feet, and it hurt, like sand scraping my skin. At one point, the masseuse left the room to help a customer at the front, which completely disrupted the session. When it was time to remove the scrub, it clearly needed water, but I was barely given what felt like a damp paper towel. To add to the confusion, during the last two minutes of the massage, a different man came in to massage my legs. He seemed far more experienced, and I didn't understand the sudden switch or why he wasn't the one assigned from the beginning. He clearly knew what he was doing. I came in already having a rough couple of days and was hoping this would be a relaxing treat for my birthday . Instead, I left feeling more stressed and truly disappointed. This place used to be consistently good, which makes this experience especially frustrating. I hope management addresses these issues so future clients don't have a similar experience. read more

What a miserable experience. I have had more than a few foot massages in my life and this was really unpleasant. First of all, I did not appreciate that. The owner insisted I pay with Zelle. They have a sign that says they accept credit cards, but she insisted in cash or Zell. OK fine. But it was not a very nice way to start my experience. Inside is very dingy and I felt like everything was dirty. At least they put the plastic liner in the foot bath. But then the foot bath was not very warm. OK I still really wanted to have a nice experience so I was hopeful when the Massage Therapist came to start working on me. Except that the Massage Therapist smelled like she had just smoked a pack of cigarettes. Her hands smelled terrible and then she began to rub them on my face. Had she even washed them since she went outside? And why is she smelling so strongly of tobacco when she is going to work on peoples bodies? Even worse was that the Massage Therapist had some rough and long fingernails, so she kept scratching me. And when she massaged my scalp, she dug in so deeply with her fingernails that I thought I was going to cry out. At this point, I should've gotten up, but I really had some aching feet and was hoping that that would relax me. But instead, I keep hearing someone's cell phone, camera going off, to the point where I took the towel off and was looking around. I finally got up early to leave. Only 40 minutes had gone by not the full hour, but the owner still insisted on charging me for the whole time ($50). Absolutely a terrible experience in every way. TL/dr: there are better foot massage experiences than this, so do not patronize the establishment read more

I hate leaving negative reviews, but definitely need to call this place out on poor business practices. I used to be a regular here and even filled in a couple stamp cards cause of how well their massage therapists usually do. These days, a 60 minute full body massage with them is listed $55 on their menu. I was asked to pay upfront before the massage. Different from the past, but I was happy to do so. I paid cash since paying with card usually comes with an additional charge. I gave $70 cash and only got $5 in return from the front desk lady. I should have received $15 in change. Once I finished my massage, I was hounded to tip more and only did so out of courtesy for the masseuse who did a wonderful job. I am happy to tip accordingly, but additional dollars should not be taken from the initial payment *before* the actual massage. Truly disappointed and no longer see myself coming back. I'm also noticing the same management response on other recent reviews, it doesn't seem like they'll be changing for the better any time soon. read more

I decided to try out Sure Foot Massage for my first time yesterday. I called around 4pm to see if I could make an appointment in advance but the phone just rang with no answer. After 5 minutes, I got a call back from a gentleman apologizing that he missed my call and that he was calling me back from Sure Foot Massage. I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for 5:15pm for myself and my teen daughter for a 1 hour Foot Reflexology for $30. We got there 5 minutes before our appointment time and as we were looking at the price list, we decided to instead do a 1 hour Combo Massage (30min foot + 30min body) for $40. The sweet young girl working at the front desk asked if we wanted to try out the hot stones with our massage which would come free with the massage and we said yes. My daughter and I were placed in private rooms next to each other separated by curtains and I requested to open up the dividing curtain since it was my daughter's first massage and I wanted her to feel comfortable. Yoyo was my massage tech and Yokie was my daughter's. They were both very sweet and both gave us amazing and thorough massages and really made us feel so great, so relaxed, and so renewed after. We ended up loving the hot stones addition which was just the right temperature. We tipped them $10 each for their awesome service and we can't wait to return for another massage soon! Great location near the beach! Their place is clean, staff is great/courteous/skilled and they have stamp cards that they stamp after each visit - after 10 visits, you get $20 off a 60 minute body massage. I highly recommend! I say semi private because it's not a room but a partition off curtained area. You're private yet you can hear everything outside your area. I was about 90% clothed minus my top off. I don't mind.. Not sure if this place changed ownership, or just changed, for the worse. I've been here many times in the past 3-4 years. It was usually pretty good. I've even brought friends here. Today, I got a substandard massage. Just so-so on technique, but worse: several times, she disregarded my request to not touch an injured area. Still, I tipped her 20%. The massage person tossed the money down. The woman at the front desk then complained that I didn't tip enough. So I paid her another $5 - but she certainly did not deserve it. I was a regular customer here but I got a therapist that went off the normal service, incorporating techniques I had not received before. The hot stone was lukewarm/cold and massage was not the effective pressure (I was not asked what pressure I preferred). After the massage I was not asked how it was or anything if the like, but proceeded to leave 15% tip in cash. The masseuse and manager proceeded to scold me about how I should "bring more money next time and that it should be 20% minimum". For me, it's ok. Not the worst, not the best. The good: price is competitive, friendly staff, flexible appointments, ample parking, convenient location. The bad: the technique is weird and the old face towel was uncomfortable. On one hand, they always fit me in. The price is $45 for a 60 minute massage, free hot stones. Close to my house. Nice people. On the other hand, I always wonder what's going on. They start with you completely under the sheet and they run their hands over your body. For about 10 min. Then, they apply oil and it is a TON of oil. They start going down the spine from neck to butt. Then a min or two of shoulders, but in a weird way. They aren't kneading dough. This isn't like a Swedish massage, which is what I requested. They roll their arms down your back. Poke your bones. They do the legs. Then the hot stones followed by a hot towel. Flip over! Then some good work on the forehead and temples. Arms with some stretching (I liked that part), hands. Quads. A few pressure points in the feet. Some tapping. And done! Not once but twice I got a crappy massage by a woman who not only scratched my neck but then dug her nails into my legs and feet. I am an ex massage therapist and rule number one is cut and file down your nails. At the end of massage I was in pain. Tipped according to how I felt the service was, got harassed. Called twice to confirm that I could do a couples massage. And, requested a masseuse that would be heavy handed to work out body kinks, as we both train in the gym 6 days a week. None of that mattered, because I'm convinced that no one there speaks English. Which explains the breakdown in communication. They don't offer couples massages, and you're given "whatever/whoever" employee that is available at your appointment time, regardless of their skill set. I'll never go back. My feet were really hurting after being on them for so long (I work in the restaurant business) and the reflexology did the trick. I had a really unfortunate experience here. Left feeling more sore than when I came in. I'm not sure the masseuse was a real masseuse despite her advanced age. I asked for foot and body, she spent about 2 minutes on each foot, one minute of those being here digging her nails into my feet??? I came home with itchy feet for the rest of the night, never have I ever experienced that at a massage. My neck is killing me at the moment despite the fact that it felt fine when I came in. Not sure how that happened either. I'm giving it 2 stars because the lady at the front was nice and it was a clean facility. I have been coming to Sure Foot Massage for many years now. Last year, I noticed a lot of issues when getting a massage--it didn't seem as clean as it used to, I witnessed many employees using the restroom without washing hands (I heard the toilet flush and they would walk out immediately). Sometimes I could smell what they ate for lunch on their hands when they touched my face. Ick. I saw there's a new owner so I've been back twice this week. I appreciate that they've made it much more comfortable--the heater is on when it's cold outside...each massage bed has a nice fluffy blanket. The color scheme is pretty (light ocean blue). I feel like they're trying really hard. I've noticed the massage therapists are trained to do the exact same massage, step-by-step. I don't really mind it, as long as hands are clean when someone touches my face. Unfortunately, the first time I went, the person doing my massage spent maybe 5 (?) minutes on each foot...and spent most of the time massaging my arms. Was kind of weird to me. I did ask for the foot massage (?). The massage was relaxing, though...so I figured I'd try again today. Well today I left with a bruised foot that could have been much worse. I don't know who teaches these people massage...but you probably shouldn't press your fist into someone's foot while they're lying on their stomach...using your FULL BODY WEIGHT. It was so painful it lifted me off the table. I am an athlete...I have a high tolerance for pain. I don't have any problem with deep tissue massage. This was a flat out dangerous move. I yelped in pain and the lady said nothing, just kept going. No apology. Had it not been the end of my massage I probably would have gotten up to leave. Now tonight as I look at my foot, it is visibly bruised. It hurts to walk on it. Unfortunately, after over 8 years visiting this place...I am thinking, never again. read more

Usually, I go out of my way to come here. The service is generally exceptional until this last time. I went this past Monday night, and it was not a pleasant experience. The lady giving me a massage was not great, and you can tell she didn't seem to want to do much, to be honest. The other lady who was present kept talking to her while giving me a massage.
