The good: I got gifted a pregnancy massage here and it was the best pregnancy massage I've received (I've had around 5!). The massage therapist wasn't afraid to apply pressure (legs, arms, head, neck, etc) and really trigger those tension spots and knots. Most pregnancy massages just feels like an oil rub with zero pressure and I usually don't get my knots targeted but this massage was more therapeutic than that. The space was inviting with warm and dim lights and the bed was warm without being too toasty. The pillows were soft and it was a comfortable experience. The warm towel rub down was relaxing. The ambient music was also an appropriate volume and was relaxing. The bad: The neck massage was rougher than I am used to and I feel sore there. Really great massage. Her website is easy to use and book, she sends a text to help you find her, and she was thorough with my assessment. I have a lot of back and hip pain and massage is the one thing that helps; I'm on the hunt for someone I can see consistently and I really liked Sandy. The only downside is that parking can be a bit difficult, but that has nothing to do with her; the lot in the back was full for me even in the afternoon on the weekend so I needed to park on the street which was a bit crowded. I finally made an appointment because I had not been feeling well recently, and all my symptoms seemed to benefit from some lymphatic support. This massage isn't like traditional massages; it uses light pressure to mobilize the lymphatic system, which lies directly beneath the skin. I was fortunate to find Sandy and secure an appointment within days. Sandy's booking system is very user-friendly and efficient. The layout of Sandy's space is very private, and I instantly felt comfortable within the environment and with Sandy herself. She double-checked that I understood the lymphatic massage process and inquired about my symptoms. Although I had never experienced lymphatic drainage on my body--only on my face during facials--I had read about the technique and believe Sandy is an excellent therapist. She shared some information about lymphatic drainage and tips on how I can perform it on myself at home when needed. While most massages make me feel relaxed and sleepy, this particular massage gave me energy. I believe it cleared toxins and metabolic waste from my body, which may have been causing fatigue for some time. Fatigue has often been an issue for me since I also have autoimmune problems. Over the past week since my appointment, I have had an unusual amount of energy. I don't drink caffeine but instead practice breathwork in the morning, along with meditation, to wake up. I can honestly say that the massage enhanced my daily ritual. I feel clear-minded, have been sleeping better, and my joint pain has significantly improved. I noticed immediately that fluid retention in my torso and under my eyes was also reduced. What a blessing! I'll definitely make another appointment soon because it has been so beneficial to my health.
