I have been getting massages for 42 years and this was the most painful and weird appointment in my life. My neck and shoulders on my right side are giving me trouble now. I will go someplace else to get this fixed. I paid and tipped. BEWARE they want everyone to buy 90 minutes or IT'S NOT ENOUGH TIME. This place is not cheap either.

The good: I got gifted a pregnancy massage here and it was…read morethe best pregnancy massage I've received (I've had around 5!). The massage therapist wasn't afraid to apply pressure (legs, arms, head, neck, etc) and really trigger those tension spots and knots. Most pregnancy massages just feels like an oil rub with zero pressure and I usually don't get my knots targeted but this massage was more therapeutic than that. The space was inviting with warm and dim lights and the bed was warm without being too toasty. The pillows were soft and it was a comfortable experience. The warm towel rub down was relaxing. The ambient music was also an appropriate volume and was relaxing. The bad: The neck massage was rougher than I am used to and I feel sore there. I had congestion which made the experience less ideal. The interesting: I parked out in front by the street but I think there's a private lot.

I was not offered the hot stones, not sure if they still do it or if you have to ask for it. I have seen another XH location further down Sepulveda, I wonder if they are under the same ownership. Wow I just came from the best massage I've had in the last 15 years, hands down. Having Jean work…read moreher magic on my body was the greatest gift imaginable (apart from having my daughter). It's like she knew every part that needed extra TLC, and she gave it 100%, to the point that I felt badly if she was over-exerting herself. I can only imagine the wear and tear that such dedicated massage therapists develop over time, so I really just want to give Jean endless gratitude for healing this seemingly broken body of mine. Usually with massages, it feels like just when I'm about to get relief, the massage therapist moves on the next body part and glosses over it in a hurried way, that before I know it, the 50 minutes is up and I'm aching for more relief. I live with chronic pain, hold an incredible amount of tension in my traps that by the end of the week, I usually can barely turn my neck without wincing in pain. I've paid for memberships at local places not because I'm trying to be bougie, but because I really am just so desperate for relief. After moving to the South Bay a couple years ago, I've done memberships at Massage Revolution and the new Now Massage location. As much as I wanted to love these places, I've cycled through nearly all of their massage therapists in the hopes of finding "the one," an experiences have been really hit or miss. I kept coming back just because, again, I needed my dose of relief. But not anymore. I will be a loyal client of Thai Body Works for the foreseeable future, hopefully returning to Jean as long as she'll have me. Unlike other places where the massage feels too short-lived, with Jean, it felt like she devoted a luxurious eternity to all my sore spots, tending to them in various forms: first with hands and elbows (done in such an intuitive, therapeutic manner), traditional Thai style with stepping, more focused massage, and a treat at the end with hot stones, warm towels, and stretching. Right when I thought she surely spent more than enough time on me, she had me turn and gave me just the same amount of therapeutic attention all over again. She was so attuned to my body, that I seriously couldn't have envisioned a better massage. I really wanted to give her a big hug at the end (and as cheesy as it sounds, I wanted to cry because of how grateful I was to her). It's special people like Jean that I wish I could just give her the same amount of TLC she so generously offered to me.. She really made a huge difference in my sense well-being, and there are simply not enough thanks for her help, kindness, and healing touch. Thank you, thank you, Jean!!
