Last time I was here, the person massaging my feet kept stopping to text. Their phone was resting near my foot, vibrating every time they got a text. Had the massage been decent, I probably wouldn't care. However, the massage was horrible. For example- they would do circles around my ankle bones and then hop over to my toes and start popping them...and then back over to my ankle bones. No joke. It was so all over the place, no fluidity. The 4 times I went before this were also really bad but this last time really sealed the deal on me not going back. (Went on a Friday at 6 pm) I've had many many massages, especially the traditional "Chinese Foot Massage" (which is really full body but in a comfy oversized chair, flat on your back /stomach.) This is my least favorite total experience, but I still gave it 3 stars because the foot massage itself was one of the best I've had. PROS -GREAT foot massage -Staff was waiting and ready for incoming clients. -Soothing music -Comfy Foot Massage Chairs CONS -More pricey than most typical Chinese Foot Massage establishments. -Having to move from table or chair to the foot massage area definitely takes away from the relaxation buzz. -Their most affordable packages all include "chair massage" which I don't find comfortable. -Foot Massage chairs are in a "U" shape, so no privacy. -Usually you lay flat in a Foot Massage chair, but here you sit up the whole time. read more

After my massage, I paid and was headed to the restroom as my daughter urgently needed to use the bathroom. The person who just gave me change came after me and said "you no tip"? I stated, "of course I'm am tipping after we use the restroom " He started yelling at me and said "we are busy and you no tip"! I said I'm going to tip in just a moment. He started yelling more and so my daughter and I just walked out and I said "well, now I'm not tipping and I'm not returning!" I have been here over 100 times and I always tip 20-25%!!! Oh man, I'll never come back here again. I was excited about the prospects of not having to make an appointment for a massage, but now I see why. I walked in a few hours before closing and got a foot/chair massage combination. There were two Chinese guys there who spoke very little English. No problem, I've had massages in China and they were some of the best I've ever had. No need to communicate well in China, so no need to communicate here, right? The guys laughed about something, one was like tugging at the other's arm - either they were fighting over who got to give me a massage or who didn't have to - or there was something else. Ok, you can't do this in front of a customer in a foreign language and not expect them to take it the wrong way. It was unprofessional behavior, no matter what the heck was going on. So they walk me into a dimly lit, poorly decorated room with a suspended ceiling and sit me down in a gross upholstered recliner that doesn't really have any back support, have me soak my feet in some hot water (no salts or anything? Who knows), and the guy starts going to town on my foot in some kind of random haphazard fashion that wasn't really relaxing or therapeutic in any sense. Then this girl comes in and gets a massage right next to me. Awkward silence ensues. No background music, no fountains trickling or birds chirping - just the sounds of an unoccupied strip mall commercial space. It doesn't help that the big room we're sitting in is set up to basically handle about 15 people at once, and there are just two of us here, with all the overhead lights off... in silence. Getting our feet rubbed by two seemingly unprofessionals. O...K... Then they move me to the massage chair. I'm 6'3". The chair is too short. He adjusts it such that some bar cuts across my trachea and is rather uncomfortable. I ask him to adjust it - he pretty much makes it worse. Massage is awful, if not downright painful. By this point, I'm counting down the minutes to get the hell out of this place. Customers keep coming in and the guys keep shooing them away saying they're closed. I wished I was lucky enough to be one of those customers. I didn't feel any better leaving the place than I did entering. So, whats the point? Save your money and go to a real massage therapist. read more

This review will be very similar to Relax Sun Spa that I wrote. Usually no wait. Even right after work. Communal area for foot massage and massage chairs. It's surprisingly quiet. Sometimes I hear the employees talk, but it's not bothersome. The employees do their best to accommodate you. I usually only wear skirts and dresses and they place a towel on my lap. Very aware of any movements and adjust the towel. Combination 4 is where it is at: 40 min foot and 30 table. I think it's $55. Each massage therapist, or employee as I am not sure if they are licensed, uses different techniques and pressure, but usually similar. I try to see the same female each time. Do not go here if you like light pressure. I don't think they even know what light means :) They know how to get every knot out of my back and help relax my shoulders as that is where all my stress is. The employees speak a limited amount of English - but can understand simple phrases or just point (like your shoulder, neck, etc). This isn't Aveda. This isn't Massage Envy. The decor is Asian. It is wide open. The rooms for table massages are small. The beds are covered by non-matching sheets. However, if you want a really good, high pressure massage for an unbeatable price go here. I don't like the fluff anyways. I just want to feel relaxed once I leave and that is always accomplished. read more

Got a very aggressive chair massage the other day. It hurt. I don't usually mind hard pressure but I'm not sure this guy really knew what he was doing. He also grabbed my legs and did thrusting gestures which I found very bizarre and inappropriate. I had bruises the next day. He also answered his phone 3 times while he was massaging me. He kept going and digging his elbow into my back while talking on the phone. The 30 minute massage was $32. I have him two 20s and he didn't even offer me my change back.... BEST quick fix I've found. Sometimes I don't have the time or money to get a full massage, and I've once again pulled something at the gym. I've been getting regular body work for over 20 years and I'm picky. Relax Day Spa fixes. I've been to plenty of chair massages and sometimes find great therapists but not always....and the general atmosphere isn't relaxing. If you've ever had a massage at Whole Foods South you know what I'm talking about. Relax Day Spa has several therapists. I've used 4 and all are excellent. Strong hands, good focus, no chitter chatter. The elevator music is the only part of the experience I don't enjoy but it's better than the sound of crying babies. I like the open massage area (you do get a private room for full body massage) :) and the fact that I can walk in and almost always get treated right away. read more

This place was OK. It wasn't the worst and it wasn't the best. I got the combo #1 which is 40 minute foot massage and 15 minutes back massage in the chair. Pros: she was definitely not afraid to go deep (maybe too deep at some points) which is nice because since I'm smaller, I find a lot of times it seems like people are afraid to hurt me and don't actually get knots out. They also give you water during the massage instead of just after which I find to be good. The atmosphere was nice. It seemed clean and the hot towel was very hot which I like because sometimes it's just weirdly warm and moist which grosses me out. Cons: the other employees would not BE QUIET. My lady even shushed them and they kept right on talking away. It was so annoying!! Like I said before, she was a little rough. I'm a little biased because before I moved here I had a fabulous place I went to all the time and she knew just the right pressure but still.. This lady sometimes was hurting me and sometimes was hardly touching me. Really the most annoying was the constant talking, joking, and socializing of the other staff. I felt kinda bad like I had taken my massage lady away from a fun party they were having. I'm gonna try some other places in Austin and keep hoping to find one that really fits me. read more

I went to this place with my daughter last Sunday evening( around 6.00 pm ) . I did not like the 10 minute massage which was given to me by a big made Thailand guy with a creepy smile. He kept talking and joking with his co workers most of the time he was massaging me. I felt fishy about this place which looked gloomy and unclean but went for a change cz my daughter kept insisting that I should give a try as I was exhausted at that time. The fat guy who gave me the massage even gave me a pat on my back once it was done but I did not say anything . Both he and the middle-aged lady at the counter were sarcastic when I went to check out as I did not give him a big tip. My daughter said I should not have given a tip for that type of attitude. It was a good lesson for me for trying out creepy and weird looking places with disrespectful people. read more

This place is the answer to my prayers. I went to the location next to Starbucks on S. Lamar/Ben White this afternoon as a walk in. I had to wait a bit (about 20 mins.), but OMG was it ever worth it. I got the "Foot Joy" 40 minute foot reflexology massage coupled with the 20 minute hand/arm massage. The man who worked on me (that sounds kind of kinky, no?) did a GREAT job...strong hands but not too much pressure. You just never realize how much your poor feet and hands need TLC until you're actually receiving a massage, and then you're like, "Oh yeah! THIS is what I needed!" As someone who is on my feet a LOT and also at the computer a great deal, I can't tell you the wonders these two massages did for me. WELL worth the $38 (w/o tip). As others have said, the interior of the salon is quiet, dark and relaxing (unlike what I imagine the mall-based location would be). And--added bonus--their air conditioner works like gangbusters, which was especially nice on this 100+ degree day. If you have a loved one who is on his or her feet a lot (waiter? cashier? teacher? busy mom?), a gift certificate to this place would be an amazing gift. I WILL be back. read more

Wow! What a rude staff! First a guy whistled at me and clapped his hands to get my attention like I didn't know where I was going. Then after I wanted to get a 15 in the chair along with the 40 min reflexology they charged me 10 dollars more. There was no reasoning with them. The guy was even offended that I tipped him 2 dollars which I felt was generous considering his rude manners. he even came back to scold me about why they over charged me 10 dollars. Which was because I already got the 40 reflexology and then separately did the 15 in the chair. The combo comes as the 40 min reflexology and the 15 in chair. There was no reasoning with them. It was so stupid. Then another staff was blatantly laughing at me. Please don't waste your time and money here. I couldn't think of a worse place to come. read more

Ahhhhh, lovely toe tingling ultimately relaxing bliss. It's more expensive here than other Chinese foot massage places, but it's my favorite. You sit in a big ol' easy chair with two pillows. The lights are down and soft music is playing. OK, it's the same track every time you come but it's nice. There's even a Muzak version of songs from Lord of the Rings. The staff are uniformly excellent. If you prefer a softer touch, just tell them. My go-to is the #3 plus ten minutes in the massage chair. That gets hands and arms (great for people who work on computers all day), your little tootsies, and your back. Ahhhhhhhh, can't wait to return. Been going to them for a long time. read more

I visited this place three times in the last month of my pregnancy (Jan-Feb 2014) What a lifesaver. I was so uncomfortable and ready to pop the baby out, I was willing to do whatever it took. I even jokingly(kind of!) said "push those pressure points to get this (pointed to my belly), out!" They just smirked and continued with the awesome foot/leg massage. I visited this place two months ago and had such poor service. I see the positive reviews and think could my experience be a fluke? Its so close and my shoulders are so tight I though I'll try it again. Well this place is horrible and I got think at least some of these reviews must be traded for free massages. Thats what was offered to me the first time I walked out. They are unable and unwilling to understand what they are doing wrong. If you are unable to understand that a 90 degree backroom is too warm you shouldn't be in customer service. Hire someone that can speak or at least understand English for the front desk. This plsce is simply wonderful. Open massage area, so if you're not used to that it might be a little weird at first. But trust me, this place is great. Went with a 40 minute foot reflexology session. They keep the room nice and quiet, low lighting, and relaxing music in the background. The only thing I think they should change is perhaps asking what time you want before they sit you down. I kept trying to whisper once I was seated but I'm loud by nature and was worried I was disturbing others. Apparently the lady next to me wasn't worried - loud! But that's ok. This is one of my favorite places when I need a good massage and didn't plan on anything and need to be in and out and on with my scheduled. This place is great for someone with busy schedule/needs convenience. It's walk in, you don't have to make an appointment i don't think they even take appointments. Very a La cart you pick how much time you want on whatever part of the body. No frills kinda place. Very affordable. I have never had to wait and if i have it's like no more than 8-10 mins. They don't speak a lot of English there so please be kind i think a lot of them work basically just off tips so if you go in there expecting 5stars you are in the wrong place ...this is a get in/get out and you just got an amazing massage for an affordable rate. These other people who left bad reviews seem to have been expecting more of a higher quality spa type experience and this place is not that but it is every bit of the type of place with people who really care about giving you a great massage in a relaxing but quick fast paced environment for people with busy schedules. I love this place. I go to a place similar when I am in Houston. The first time that I went there I had a massage that was good but not as deep as I prefer. I noticed people coming in and asking for TarZen. I had to try as I did notice he looked as if he really new what he was doing. I was right! He definitely has the touch and has very strong hands. I'm hooked now and always ask for him. It's become an obsession for me to go get worked on by him once a week. We all need to be touched in a healthy way and he's very professional and very very good at reading what your body needs. I highly recommend this place but ask for him! read more

I've been here multiple times but today the guy massaging my feet was so incredibly aggressive and angry that I had to ask him to stop touching me and get up and leave. They still charged me full price even though I didn't receive my full time and I left in tears. I'm too afraid to go ask for my money back because of how unnecessary his demeanor was in the first place. Had my first foot massage here and was either clenching all of the muscles in my body or driving my fingernails into my leg under the lap towel they give you. There were times I was relaxed, don't get me wrong, but they REALLY dig into your feet here, which some people might want. I, however, was an unprepared newbie. It may have been a great foot massage, for all I know, but now I feel like I need a full body massage to undo the tension that resulted elsewhere. Only reason this is not one star is because the massage was good. Atmosphere was terrible. My husband and I went and were taken to a private room together which is great, however the employees were talking to each other most of the massage making it near impossible to relax. The guy doing my husbands massage was sneezing and coughing and blew his nose then immediately rubbed oil all over his hands and went straight back to massaging. I love that it's walk-in. I didn't have to wait at all today and the last time maybe 5 minutes. Just for reference, ask for the guys if you need pressure and can handle it. This is one of those reviews I wish I could give 0 stars. I've been to many reflexology places, and after seeing other reviews I decided to try it out. I knew going into it that it wasn't like traditional massage places but had no idea it would be this bad. Me, my mom, and sister decided to go for my sisters birthday. We sat in the waiting room a minimum of 30 minutes without being helped then got skipped over twice by people without appts. Finally they took my sister back and then I got the combo one. (15 min chair, 40 min foot) the 15 min chair was so rough it brought me to tears, the guy was very rushed and I can honestly say it was THE WORST massage I've ever had. It was so bad I decided to not do the 40 min foot, and left. I'm writing this review waiting for my sister who got the 35 min table hoping her birthday wasn't ruined by coming to a place as bad as this. My mom originally wanted the combo one as well but got the 18 min chair because of how rude and unorganized this place is. Price was very high to especially considering what you are paying for. I've had better reflexology massages for a much better price. Very very disappointed and never plan on returning. read more

I love this place! I'm a hair stylist in desperate need of regular DEEP tissue massage and these guys never fail to give the very best! I get 60-90 min table massages, and they prefer you leave clothes on but I prefer the oil massage. I've been a few times, and I will say it is difficult to communicate with them, you may have to be open to male or female and it can be awkward if you're shy or modest BUT they always seem to find my issues and work them out and I love the no frills! I used to go to reflexology spas all the time back in CA and was really looking forward to this massage. Wasn't a big fan for a few reasons. 1)- they're so loud in here and no one seems to care if their customers are relaxed. Workers would yelling across the room. 2): I am used to having the back massage on the big reclining chair but they actually take you to one of those chairs you sit in with your face in a whole and it wasn't very comfortable.
