Last minute booking. Like literally last minute. Woke up in the morning before having to leave my Airbnb and wanted a massage. Looked around and Ocio massage had an opening at 9. So I booked and waited. Got a message if we could push it back 30 minutes but couldn't since I had to be out my Airbnb at 11 and booked 1.5 hour massage. Was able to still keep appointment which I very much appreciated. Massage was ok. Felt like it was maybe too early maybe and just didn't get what I had expected honestly. Booked a deep tissue and it was maybe a Swedish in pressure. It was pricey, but then again it's Austin and I'm used to Houston prices lol. left with shoulder pain, he offed to work on it more tomorrow morning but honestly i was worried he would make it worse. he wasn't very friendly and his dog kept barking, also he didn't tell me he was going to have a dog there. i get massages a lot, i have never once left a bad review for one. it's just so frustrating to spend a lot of money for self care to end up in actual pain. hopefully no one else has this experiance but i will personally never go back and wish i never went in the first place read more

I'm here in Austin for a conference and my muscles were aching from lifting and carrying a heavy laptop bag and suitcase. I looked for massages close to downtown Austin and found Ocio Massage. I absolutely LOVE that he has an online booking system. It was 4:40pm and I saw that he had an opening for 5pm. I was able to book online and get an automated confirmation. I also called and left him a vm that I was on the way just in case he didn't see the last minute booking, and Jacob texted right back that he saw it and would see me soon. Great response time. I hopped into an Uber and was there in less than 7 minutes. The place is really clean and on the street facing side underneath an apartment / condo complex. Jacob asked where he could help for the massage and the 90 minutes were amazing. I get massages back in NC about every 4 - 6 weeks, and this was by far one of the BEST massages that I've ever had. It's the right amount of pressure with Swedish and deep tissue. I had such a great experience here at Ocio Massage that I'm going to get another 90 minutes before I leave for my conference! My wife and I scheduled a 90-minute couples massage. Jacob was able to coordinate another therapist to accommodate the request. We both opted for the deep tissue treatment, and it met our expectations and then some! We've both experienced deep tissue before, but the pressure this time was exactly that: deep and intense. I had Jacob, and I can say, his hand and finger strength is phenomenal; the pressure was just exactly at my threshold, so I can't imagine any more -but he did offer. Today was my third visit to Ocio. It gets better every time. Jacob is both incredibly strong, and intuitively gentle when need be. I have a million old injuries that he has been able to work out without much explanation. He is very knowledgeable about the human body, it's potential as well as it's limitations. His shop is very clean, calm and conveniently located. I recommend Ocio to all walks, from folks that work emotionally difficult jobs to hard physical labor. Being very tough on my body, I have a long history of needing awesome bodywork done. I was looking for a therapist when I moved to Austin, and quite frankly, out of the many I have tried to get a good fit, Jacob delivered. I cycle extended rides, lift often, and constantly break down and rebuild my tissues, so I was happy to meet a competent performer. I usually go for constructive deep tissue, stretching, and at times myofascial release, but my experience with Jacob was a 7 star, all-around winner. We even struck up conversation afterwords, and for as long as he's been working on bodies, he outdoes therapists who have been in the field much longer. Truly talented. I recommend giving Jacob a go.
