OK, I almost don't want to leave a review, because I don't want other people to know how great this best-kept Austin secret is! As someone who is (admittedly) high-energy and high-stress, my body is always tight and in need of relaxation. I have tried getting massages elsewhere before, but they have all been too soft/not good at relaxing my muscles. I stumbled across this place while driving home from a barre class, with my muscles in pain, and I am so glad I walked in! The person who worked on my body released years of stress, pain, tension, and more. Within just a short period, he worked through all my muscles, and he did not take it easy on the pressure. Because I am small / petite, most of the masseuses I've tried have been extremely gentle on my body, no matter what I told them. While he started off as easy, when I asked him to go harder, he did. Parts were very painful, but in a good way -- my back has not felt so relaxed and free of tension in years. He used the same amount of force you might on an elite athlete. I left feeling rejuvenated and like my body had been transformed. The best tip I can give you here is to tell the masseuse how much pressure you want them to use. They will listen! Got a massage here with a friend when I was in town for business. Its an asian massage place, but the guy at the front desk speaks perfect english and chinese too. We both were happy with our massages. Not mind blowing, but good when you have been traveling and need some tension relieved. Ugh I hate to write this review because I've been to Sole probably 10 times, and the last 3 times it has gone majorly downhill. This review is concerning my experience today. I was super disappointed with my overall experience this time. The message was OKAY, not fantastic but that not what I'm here to complain about. I was getting my massage, and I was the only paying customer in there, and the workers were talking so loud during the whole 1 hour time frame. Laughing, screaming, being so loud. Then to add to it, it seems like the washing machine in the back is broken and would spin and click so loud during my whole massage. It was so so distracting. Also, the bathroom reeked of cleaning products. Like a whole bottle of Clorox. You felt almost high from cleaning products, it was that bad. Honestly, it was just a bummer experience when you go to relax and the environment was not up to par. I will be taking my business somewhere else. read more

Found this place on Yelp and it's super affordable prices (as well as the amazing reviews) and decided that I MUST try it. I am so glad that I decided to come and try it out! I went with my boyfriend and got the combo for 40 min foot massage with 30 min full body massage. We had called and asked beforehand if we could make it a couples massage (being in the same room) and they said yes. However, when we got there, they said that we were only allowed to get the foot massage in the same room, and get the body massage in separate rooms if we wanted to get it with our clothes off (which, yes, of course we want to get a full body massage naked... it feels SO much better like that.....) so we just decided to be in the same room until the part came for the full body massage. We had Jonathan and Andy I think, and both of them were so great! Apparently, even on my boyfriend's body the guy went really hard and made sure to loosen all o0f the muscles really well. Foot massage: AMAZING YES THANK YOU. So even though it's a 40 min "foot" massage, they do a little bit of your scalp, neck&shoulders, arms&hands, and lastly your feet and legs! It is so value to only get the foot massage by itself if you wanted to, in my opinion. Except you're clothed so it definitely doesn't feel as good as the regular full body massage. Full body massage: After the foot massage, they had me go into a different room in the back (which was kind holy mother of massages. Although I was a girl and my masseuse was a man, he knew exactly what I needed and where I needed it. He worked out all of my knots so well and it wasn't unbearably heard, but hard enough to make the you be like ohhhh it hurts so goooood, and not too soft on other areas. Usually when I get a massage, I feel like they kind of ignore or brush over my glutes (butt muscles.) but he did a good job of giving them a little love too! I didn't feel uncomfortable or violated at all despite the fact that he didn't really speak English. And all of this was only for $56/person! SO CHEAP. The employees really work hard at what they do and I greatly appreciate the effort as I am also a massage therapist and have been for over 15 years. It is Chinese style massage so it is different from other more swedish styles you find at more westernized spas. This was the second time here. I got a hour Long foot massage and a 20 minute chair massage the guy that I had was brutal I had to tell him many times not so hard as he put all of his bodyweight on my shoulders and my back when I got home I noticed this unsightly large bruise on my ankle and partly up my leg it had wrapped around my ankle. My ankle was swollen two times larger than my other leg. I don't know where they get these people. I couldn't sleep last night because I am bruised internally and externally. I HAD A FULL MASSAGE FOR $60!!! The people that work here are very nice. I had the foot massage first, followed by the full body massage. Everything is clean, tidy, and well organized. The guy that did my massage put his back, foot, and elbow into that massage. I mean literally. He got out every kink, knot, and tense area, especially in my upper back. The people here are friendly and they're open late, which is always a plus. Ultimately, this is just another cheap little foot massage place where you're in a room with a bunch of other people which cuts the cost of the massage. Because you're in a room with multiple people, the massage therapists are loud-whispering to each other and it's just not that relaxing. They've got a bunch of massage therapists and the website claims that they are trained in "traditional Chinese massage techniques" but I honestly don't know what that means. If it means aggressively digging heavily greased up knuckles into the my feet and bones (NOT muscles!), then it's a hard pass for me. I've been to a handful of these reflexology places since they popped up like a bunch of weeds in the Bay Area several years ago, and I've had pretty neutral to positive experiences. I wouldn't go to a reflexology place expecting a spa level experience, but I would not return to this one. read more
