Glen is in one word: "MaGiCaL". I literally feel like a new person after each and every session. 10/10 every time. A million stars!

Glen is phenomenal! He is incredibly experienced as well as personally gifted. I saw him for therapeutic massage sessions for back pain - the best I have ever had. And his way of relating to clients is professional and respectful. I highly recommend him. read more

Professional, intuitive, nurturing. 100% satisfied!!! Best massage in Austin hands down.

hands-down, one of the best massage therapists in the area you will not be disappointed. I will be going back there time and time again due to a car accident. I feel amazing today. Thank you so much. read more

This is one of the best massages I've ever had. I was in town on short notice, so wasn't sure what to expect--I just needed a massage for my tired muscles after traveling. Glen is so talented and lovely, and not only sorted my body out, but was able to explain what was going on so I could work on things outside the studio. I can't recommend him enough. read more

Glen is out-of-this-world AMAZING! He is hands-down the best deep tissue massage therapist and energy worker. His technique is practical and effective. No matter how often I go to see him, he always checks-in to see what I need help with in each session. He is very intentional about how he works on me and the pressure he uses, and resultantly has supported me with a tremendous amount of healing. I first came to Rub Massage Austin not having much belief or interest in the Reiki energy work thing. After having been seen by Glen for several years, I quite literally see things differently, and have experienced surprising and extremely positive spiritual transformation. Glen performed myofascial release on me several days a week for several months and helped me eliminate large swathes of scar tissue from an invasive surgery. There were also several large lumps of scar tissue that he was able to eliminate completely using various massage techniques. He also taught me techniques I could use at home between sessions to assist with the healing process. As my body recovered from the trauma and I worked my way back to regular activity, he performed deep tissue massage that helped keep my healing and recovery on track. All the while, Glen performed a type of energy work called Reiki, which was just included as part of his regular services. I will forever be grateful to Glen for helping eliminate all that scar tissue, and continuing to help heal me throughout my recovery. The effects of the energy work though - those were perhaps the most enlightening part of the whole experience. Once I'd spent a good amount of time as a client of Glen's, my mind opened up and I was able to experience additional healing at the spiritual level. How crazy is that, right? It's like yoga - you come for the exercise and get the spiritual benefits just by being present with the practice. So amazing! If you're just coming to Rub Massage for a massage, you will undoubtedly get the most amazing deep tissue massages you can imagine. If you're into or open to the energy work stuff, all the better for you. In any case, you will benefit incredibly from your experiences with Rub Massage. read more

Jacob did a great job of really working deep into some of the spots that are always tight in my shoulders. He checked in to make sure the pressure was okay, which I always appreciate. The building looks a little sketchy at first glance but I felt safe the entire time. The massage room itself was big and I loved how relaxing it felt with the music and the diffuser going. I'd definitely visit again the next time I'm in town. Very affordable pricing as well! Thanks Jacob! read more

I was once given the nickname "corpsie"... not just for the coldness of my footsies in bed, but... also for the the complete and total lack of pain sensors I seem to have been given at birth. Meaning - my ENTIRE LIFE - there has been ONE, and only ONE person who has ever been able to make a massage feel like something beyond a feather rubbing along my back to annoy me. Until Glen... Oh. My. God. Seriously (Yes, I am reverting to 5th grade valley girl speak).... Oh. My. God. I only went to see Glen in the first place b/c I had some super-cheap deal that made me think "...if nothing else it will be a practice in sitting still." This is why Glen is AMAZING: - He is open to you giving feedback, and doesn't make you feel like a wench when you do. - That said, you soon realize there is NO NEED to give him feedback, he has some sort of magic spidey sense that leads him directly to whatever knot or strange, twisted body part that needs to be put back in place -He balances the subtle touching (just enough to warm things up so he can move to deep tissue) with the serious work of getting things back where they belong - In over 2 years, I have NEVER left feeling pained. Know how some therapists say 'you might feel worse for a while...' Well, he's never had to go that route with me. Just pure awesomeness. -He gives insurance receipts for reimbursement if you are so lucky to have that as a benefit. - If you aren't filing via insurance (there have been times I haven't) he is beyond reasonably priced, and worth every penny and then some. It is obvious that this is his superhero skill and he is in the right profession. He loves not only the massage part, but the anatomy and medical aspects as well. Truly feel lucky to have found him. - read more

I was introduced to Glen through my chiropractor. Over the last couple of years, I've become obsessed with kettlebell workouts and while they provide a great workout, I quickly realized that this style of workout put stress on parts of my body I didn't even know I had. With a specialty in sports massage and rehabilitative body work, Glen quickly proved that he could work the knots out while improving overall movement and flexibility in my muscles. He's always friendly and it's evident that he's incredibly knowledgable about the body. I feel like I learn something new every time I see him but the conversation is never enough to distract from the massage or make it less relaxing. read more

Best best best massage ever! Glen is so knowledgeable. First time in a month I'm going to bed without neck pain. First time after years of massages that someone really listened to what I wanted worked on. Welcoming space with beautiful calming energy. read more

Glen is an absolute delight. His skills speak for themselves (as I write this, I am still a bit massage drunk). But not loudly enough, which is why I am here to sing his praises. His energy is great, and he clearly knows how to listen to the body and what you tell him about it. I never got the impression that he was "going through the motions" as some jaded therapists tend to do over time. No, he took his time and really worked out every kink he came across. Go see this man for some genuine therapy. His office is gorgeous, and right on 6th street, where it is surprisingly easy to find free street parking during the day. 1 word to sum it all up: mmmmmmmm. read more

I broke my back in 2008. I've been getting massages every two weeks since 2009, to relieve stress and tension, and to keep my back muscles from tightening up and spasming. By the time I'd go back for my next appointment, before I found Glen, I was usually hurting. Now, I've had two appointments with Glen, and I'm about to have my third. I've had to let three weeks go by since my last one, because of the holidays and some sad/difficult personal circumstances. And yet, my back has held up since my last massage with him. He asks questions, and he listens to the answers. The music is perfect, and he lets you choose to talk, or spend your table time with him in blissful silence. An hour massage with Glen feels like two, yet the time passes in the blink of an eye. My body feels alive and happy when the appointment is over, and my mind is as relaxed as it can get. I tried Glen because of the fantastic reviews. They weren't lying, and neither am I. If you're not getting massaged here, and you don't give him a try, I'm super sad for you. Heavenly healing doesn't even come close to describing Glen's massages! read more

I had a wonderful 60 min massage + Reiki experience with Glen today! Once entering into the room my mind felt at ease and relaxed. I filled out a quick intake form and shared with him my area of focus! YALL! I get massages frequently and this was THE BEST massage I've ever experienced! The deep pressure was great and his techniques were unique and effective! I cant believe I am just now finding this gem! So much healing took place within this hour! 60 min of bliss went by too fast, so I will be back for a 90 min session next time! Thank you Glen read more

Glen's massage was one of the most uplifting & profound moments of my life! Glen taps into something much deeper than himself he is tapping into another energetic realm. He understand the laws of the universe and is able to direct abundant loving energy directly to his patient. Glen showed me that we are not only physical bodies, but also spiritual beings. Glen, I am FOREVER grateful to you. You are a beautiful soul. Thank you for dedicating your life to helping others. read more

I have been dealing with Lower back and Sciatic pain for months now.  Through a combination of stretching, yoga, and massage therapy, I am starting to get it under control. Jacob Gamel, LMT, of Rub Massage Austin has been absolutely key to helping me ease my pain.  I have had 4 bi-weekly sessions with him now and I have gone from a very high amount of pain to not even needing to take ibuprofen.  Through our sessions, he has dug into the areas that are troubling me, giving me localized tension relief as well as more whole body massage therapy. I am really grateful I found Jacob and Rub Massage Austin.  I hate to imagine where I would be without them right now. read more

First review, but I had to leave something. I've suffered with migraines since I was 8, and I'm quite active, resulting in a large amount of tension in my neck and shoulders, as well as my lower back. I went in to have this dealt with, and I was massaged by Jacob. He was very accommodating to my needs, and made the experience quite worthwhile. He asked questions about my lifestyle in order to help me avoid having so much back pain, and always asked if he was applying enough pressure or too much. The experience was really great, definitely worth it to me. read more

Jacob did an amazing job relieving the tension in my neck and shoulders which I got from working on computers and exercise! He's very attentive to your needs. Highly recommended! read more

Booked a session with Glen, showed up a few mins prior and Glen chatted with me about areas I'd like focus on and any issues/conditions I've been having. Got to the massage, I was very very impressed, and he did an amazing job focusing on the areas we discussed earlier. Helped me identify some "homework" that I could do at home to help with my tight legs. All in all, I'm going back! I think I found my favorite masseuse in Austin. read more

Glen Taylor is by far the best! I would highly recommend him!

Glen is amazing at what he does. I've even referred to him as a wizard to some of my friends. I've had some pretty severe back, should & neck pain for a few years and since I found Glen, it's gotten a lot better. I go to him about twice a month, and his Frequent Client Program makes it affordable for me to do so. So glad I found Rub Massage! read more

"most uplifting and profound moments of my life" stated a previous reviewer, wow she must have a pretty dull life. On to the review. Making this one short and to the point. Pros: Easy to find, and parking on 6th st during the day was free for 2hrs. Easy online booking. Nice bedside manners and professional. Cons: none really. Conclusion: Definitely not your "typical" massage (nor my style), but glad I at least tried it once. read more

Glen was able to squeeze me in at the last minute when I was having some severe back pain. It was my first massage with him but it definitely won't be my last! His studio is serene and warm and he was very careful and attentive since I was in so much pain. I truly appreciate him fitting me in at the last minute and for helping me feel SO MUCH BETTER. If you have any doubts about which massage therapist to pick in Austin, look no further. He's absolutely the best in town. Thank you, Glen! read more

Full disclaimer: Glen is a friend of mine from high school, but that was of course well before we entered our respective professions. :) I was happy to reconnect with him at another friend's storytelling performance several months ago, and learn that he is highly recommended as a massage therapist. I have lots of chronic but minor pain due to inflamed tissues - all the usual suspects in my neck, back, and hips. I finally made a couple of appointments and plan to make more. Glen's work made me feel much looser and more capable of physical challenges, while making me more aware of the issues that need more attention in the future. Thanks for getting my blood flowing again! Highly recommend. read more

I have been going to Glen monthly for 6 months now and he is an excellent massage therapist. I would describe his style as intuitive and he incorporates multiple modalities. He always finds the spots that need work! If you come monthly you also get a discount. The parking downtown can be hard to find at times, so allow yourself an extra 10 minutes in case you have to drive around the block a few times to find a parking spot. read more

Can't do 0 or negative stars so I guess this will have to do. I actually didn't even use his service due to how utterly rude he was during communication to set an appointment. I'm very quick to take surveys when I have a great experience, but I want to make as many people as possible aware of how horrible Glen Taylor is and I'm shocked he has so many positive reviews. read more

AMMMMAAAAAZZZZINNNNGGGGGG! I have had many massages in my life and this by far was the best. I had bought a groupon but after having experienced his massage, I will never go anywhere else. It was the closest thing to heaven I have ever experienced. read more

Glen is an amazing massage therapist. He's friendly and warm when you meet him, but incredibly focused and detailed while he works on you. The best massage in my life! No kidding. That's the message I sent to my friend when I walked out from Rub Studio! I have been having massage therapy regularly for a long time, and I've tried a lot of different therapists. What I got at the Rub Studio is just outstanding and exactly what I needed! Glen felt and massaged every cell of my back, so my back feels almost like born again! I'm very happy to have found my perfect massage therapist. read more

Excellent therapeutic massage. Glen is knowledgeable, focused and professional. He used every second of my 90 minute session and not only released multiple tension and pain points, but afterwards explained their origin and suggested stretches to help.
