If you are going to be stuck in an airport, this is a nice place to be. Reflecting pool provides a beautiful backdrop for restaurant. Food is above average and priced as you'd expect a Westin airport restaurant to be. Not cheap. But can't think of anything in an airport that is a bargain. read more

Stopped by for a snack and some drinks after our flight was canceled. Had a good bowl of chicken noodle soup and killer beef nachos! We have dined at reflections multiple times while staying at Westin. THIS is not a hotel restaurant. It is well staffed in front and back of house. While menu is small there are lots of choices as light or full dinner. The service is fast and professional. The food flies out of kitchen. And was excellent. Lamb meatballs, vegetarian moussaka, peach cobbler top drawer. And it was busy! Great experience. read more

Checked in yesterday at the Westin Detroit. Interesting location at Delta Terminal. Ate dinner at Reflections, only one waiter serving maybe 25 people. Took a few minutes to get seated and ordered my food. All three of us are vegetarians, and there were not many options. One of the vegan entree was "Moussakka" with eggplant which you couldn't chew. Very poorly cooked. Super food salad was good.Ordered a glass of wine which he forgot to bring until we were done with the food. Seemed like everyone else was enjoying their hamburger! Would not eat here if looking for vegetarian food. read more

Fancy restaurant, great atmosphere, in an airport, in a hotel, so pretty much a recipe for an $$$ meal, but I was hoping for a good one as I was a captive guest at the Westin in DTW. The meal turned out to be pretty average, especially given the price. I had the grilled New York strip (premium black angus beef, Boursin herb potato silk, grilled asparagus, chimichurri sauce). I was pleased that my steak, ordered medium rare (as a steak should be), was actually cooked as I requested. Unfortunately, despite the $48 menu price on my entree, the quality of the steak was just average--the chimichurri sauce was the saving grace, as it provided most of the flavor to an otherwise underwhelming piece of meat. The potatoes had plenty of flavor, but were refrigerator-cold in the center, and the asparagus was charred and tasted burnt. In sum, this meal was just far too overpriced for its quality (or lack thereof). Although I travel through DTW several times a year, I cannot imagine myself again selecting Reflections as my dining choice. read more

What happened to this place? It does NOT represent Westin standards at all. My husband and I have been coming to this place for ten years. It has been our first stop every time we fly. But it has become cheap and tacky for the same $$$ price tag. Tonight I had tomato soup so salt and liquid smoke laden it was guaranteed to give me heartburn. My mashed potatoes were ice cold and my husbands Cesar salad was completely forgotten. When they apologized and brought it, the lettuce was wilted and squishy. Yuck!!!! Did Reflections do anything to make up for their mistakes. Nope! We won't be back and we advise others to avoid Reflections too, unless they like being overcharged for unbelievably crappy food. read more

Daughter had a over a 4hour layover on her way home to Kentucky. I live in Michigan, so met for dinner. As some of the reviews state, not an inexpensive place to eat. However, we had a nice time sharing a bottle of wine, baked brie and a flatbread. The Brie was great and the flatbread was good. Both arrived at our table hot. Server was attentive. I called ahead of time to inquire where would be the best place to park. Hostess told me to valet park at the hotel and if we spent $30 or more, the parking was comp'ed. Not bad to park for over 3 hours at DTW for the price of a tip! read more

This is alright for a hotel bar. Bartender was fairly new and really overwhelmed. Took about 30 minutes to get a soup but it was also around 9:30 at night. Since it's in the airport I wish I would have tried something else. Very convenient if you are staying in the Westin and fine enough for a hotel bar. read more

Where to begin? Food is pricey but taste is in the average side. The staff is friendly but then again, they're SO friendly that start interrupting you every 5 minutes while eating. This is the only place to eat in Detroit Airport before going through security (there are only 2 coffee stands), so if you have long hours till your connection flight, you'll probably thought of waiting here, please don't. Staff won't leave you alone. I only wanted something to eat while seated in a quiet place and I hate getting talked at while eating, I cannot relax. read more

The bartender Kim is amazing. Top notch. Attentive and kind. It's refreshing to see someone who cares about their job.

I love hotel bars - you meet interesting people, and even better, you can count on getting a good drink. Maybe it's because we weren't seated at the bar or maybe the legendary Kim noted in some of the other reviews wasn't tending last night, but the drinks I had were not great. Ordered the Bourbon Crisp from the 'seasonal' menu, which tasted flat and confused; then tried a different tack with a Manhattan - which was slightly more on track but not the warm, comforting yet bold classic cocktail I expect. The servers were busy and nearly overwhelmed when we got there, but everyone went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of - so 5 stars to the waitstaff, but maybe next time I'll stick to the wine list when I'm looking for a drink. read more

Beware: JUMBO shrimp cocktail is the smallest shrimp, comparable to the shrimp cocktail tray at Kroger. $16 for 6 of the tiniest shrimp I have ever ate. Would not eat here again. The word "JUMBO" is very misleading!!! read more

4 stars for food but I am taking 1 away because it's SO over priced due to the fact that they have you as a captive audience. If you're meeting someone at the McNamara Terminal at the airport it's the only place for non-ticketed passengers to eat. $56 bucks! for a burger and pizza. With tip but no drinks. Really good burger! Ambiance feels like a spa while looking at a forest in the atrium. Only negative is that you have to go through security again to get back to gates. Make sure you leave yourself plenty of time. read more
