It was the cleaner they used on the floor. I was hoping I would be nose blind soon. So our waitress came and she was sweet. Ordered some beer. Was good. We shared a burger cause she said it was hand pat-tied(which was not) and was a half pounder. Got fries. Ordered it medium....pink. Got it well done. Very tiny place. Thought it was more suppose to be like a bar ish but they are trying to hard to be fancy. The prices are like fancy places but the quality is definitely not. It's very convenient though it's walking distance from the hotels by the airport. Service was good but it also wasn't busy. I had the pasta, it was a bit cold and felt like they were in a hurry and just threw parsley on the top of it. Very saucy. Bland. Breadstick was hard. What a find. This is a small place with a nice atmosphere. There's a u shaped bar and a small sitting area. The seating offers some intimate seating in booths along the wall and also seating on the floor. The patrons are typically travelers mixed with a local here and there. If you get lucky, you might get into a great conversation with others at the bar. People from all over. The staff is very friendly and take good care of their parties. Drinks are good. There is a decent liquor selection and a few beers on tap. Now the food! The best dish is the Cajun Mahi mahi. Tastes A M A Z I N G !!!!! All of the food I had was really great. This place was a close walk from our hotel. Very casual. You seat yourself No happy hour but $5 Long Island that are good. I had the mushroom Swiss with lettuce instead of the bun. We were staying in this hotel as part of the stay, park and fly package and this restaurant is right in the hotel here. I read a few reviews and it sounded pretty good in fact a few people referred to it as a hidden gem so I thought why not try it. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it comes with the choice of french fries, sweet potato fries, salad, soup, or vegetable. The sauce for the chicken sandwich was a honey Dijon mustard and it was very tasty. The chicken sandwich had some cheese melted on it and it was very good. My friend got the cherry salad topped with chicken and she ate every single bite in the bowl so she really liked her salad too so we would definitely come here again. read more

This restaurant was recommended to me by a flight attendant. On our way to pick up our cars from the parking lot, I mentioned that my friend's flight was delayed two hours and I was looking for a restaurant. Capital Bistro did NOT disappoint. Although the restaurant was crowded, the waitress acknowledged my arrival and seated me right away. The bartender, who had a full bar of patrons, also noticed me while I was sitting at the table. She came to ask me what she could do for me. I told her I would prefer the booth. So, she started to bus that table for me, and then nodded to me when it was ready. The booth was great, because I could put my backpack next to me and work on my phone without people wondering what I was doing there alone. I ordered a Black Horse Raspberry Ale and the bacon cheddar burger with fries. Despite it being quite crowded, the waitress brought my drink right away. The food arrived in a timely fashion not long after. The beer was cold, and the food was delicious! I also had asked for a glass of water which was refilled three times. So very nice. She even refilled it after I had paid the bill and still had time to kill (many waiters and waitresses. Ignore you after you have paid.) Great service, great atmosphere, great food! read more

This is a little joint near the airport. I had been coming to this area for years and had never gone. Man was that a mistake. I had the lamb shank that was prepared as well as any fine dining establishment. Frankly this is a fine dining establishment. (5/23/22 Visit) Traveling for business and after a long work day my coworker and I just wanted some good comfort food. Near the Detroit Airport, Capitol Bistro and Bar was perfect. Our server, was so friendly, I believe her name was Sara. I had the Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese, which was amazing and enough for two people. Our server explained it's a house made cheese sauce, cavatappi noodles topped with Buffalo chicken tenders. My coworker ordered the Chi Ken Alfredo which she enjoyed and was also a large portion. I walked in expecting a mediocre meal. I only came in because it was close to my airport hotel. But the service was great and the our meals were surprisingly awesome! Best burger I've had in years. Sweet potato and regular fries were shoestring style and delicious. My friends enjoyed their club sandwiches. Chicken lemon rice soup was amazing. Jalapeño margaritas were delicious!! Two adults intended to share these with each other. Both left hungry. Furthermore, there was NO kid menu at all! We were offered some off-menu chicken tenders when we asked about a kids menu. And, yet again, they were overpriced for two chicken tenders. The service itself was fine, and I bear our server no ill will and gave her a full tip. But this restaurant was nothing short of a rip off and I would urge you to look elsewhere, even if on a business account for travel. read more

Popped into the Capitol Bistro at around 6pm after I learned I had a 6 hr layover in Romulus. The waitress was kind, welcoming and extremely eager to answer all of my questions + give me recommendations on the menu. The Firecracker Burger was cooked perfectly, I upgraded my side to sweet potato fries and the sauce (what I suspect was a Dijon mustard condiment?) was a nice change as a dipping element. The tempura fried jalapeños were perfectly crispy, and a great addition to the burger. This is a place I might've driven past, and not thought twice about it. But, it was halfway between me and a friend of mine, so we met here. I'm definitely glad we did. After a disappointing meal at Beirut last night, we just wanted to try some place new/different. There were a number of cars out front even though it was raining and early. An immediate greeting on coming inside and a "sit anywhere you want" made it a no brainer. We had peaked in last night and briefly looked at the menu. A couple seated in the first booth told us they'd had really good app and a really good burger there if we were wondering. I liked that and try to do the same for people myself. One of their cocktails appealed to my husband to try. I was happy with just water. Based on the recommendation of the anonymous guy last night, I decided on the steak tips appetizer. The meat was cooked to temp order (medium) and cut into nice size bites covered with sautéed mushrooms and onions. A "zap" sauce came on the side. This dipping sauce did have a bit of a kick and maybe a touch of worcestshire but was perfect. My husband had their fish and chips which was lightly battered cod and came with very thin fries. He liked it a lot and the taste I had of both the fries and the fish made me want to order that there next time. It came with tartar sauce as well as ketchup and malt vinegar on request. We shared a piece of chocolate cake. It's not made in house, but It was fine -- not great -- but filled our craving for a touch something sweet. read more
