I honestly wandered into this place by accident while hunting for food and a quiet-ish spot to get some work done before my flight. You know... airport survival mode. And somehow, I ended up at Margaritaville, which immediately made me question all of my professional self-control. First of all, this is an excellent place to eat while watching planes take off. Something about sipping water and pretending to work while jets casually lift off outside the window feels very main-character energy. Obviously, it's Margaritaville, and yes, the margaritas were calling my name loudly. Unfortunately, I had a job to do and a plane to catch, so I made the very adult decision to stay sober. Tragic, but responsible. Foodwise, I started with fries because... who doesn't order fries? That's just basic human behavior. They were hot, crispy, and exactly what fries should be. I also ordered the blackened chicken Cobb salad, which was surprisingly delicious for airport food, fresh, filling, and not at all sad. Honestly, it felt like a real meal, not something you eat purely out of necessity. And the vibe? If you didn't know you were in an airport, you'd swear you were on a beach somewhere far away from TSA lines and gate changes. They did a great job of creating a relaxed, vacation-y atmosphere that made me temporarily forget I was about to board a plane. Overall, a very happy accident. Great food, great views, and dangerously tempting drinks. Next time, I'm scheduling a longer layover, and ordering the margarita. read more

Oh my gosh! I didn't fully read the menu. These fish tacos were awesome. I didn't realize it was going to be this much food. I don't recall having orange curaçao before, didn't taste any different from the blue one I'm used to. Overall the drink was good. It did what it was supposed to do. Only things I would recommend is that they use a different rice. Some kind of longer grain. It was cooked just the short grain made me question if it was cooked. Don't ask, just my opinion. lol. read more

Service was good. Ambiance was cool, it's at the end of an airport terminal so only so much you can do The food was ok at best. Coconut shrimp were dry and lukewarm. There were only 4 and not very big in size. The margarita was the big disappointment. The consistency was that of a blended margarita, not frozen. Bartender claimed it was frozen from a margarita machine...we have a different definition I guess. Plus I couldn't detect much tequila. The meal was definitely not worth the $44 I paid for 4 small/medium coconut shrimp, a handful of fries and a very weak margarita. read more

I ordered an "uptown top shelf margarita" which was so overly sweet (even for a person who doesn't mind sweets) that I could not finish it. It's a one-stop-shop to a hangover. I wasn't given an option for salt or no salt on the rim, so it arrived with a massive amount of salt wrapped around the top. I also ordered fries. The fries were good. Very good, quick and warm. So good in fact, that I was sad when the server took them away without asking and before I was finished. And now I have no way to choke down the rest of my drink. We left the nearby Lufthansa Senator Lounge to come over here - and we had a great time! Excellent service here and a decent drinks and wine list. The folks eating next to us had a plate of nachos that looked absolutely delicious. Based on other reviews I think your experience may be very server-dependent, but we had a great experience -- especially when compared to the mess of that lounge. read more

This restaurant has a nice, sunny dining area and live music while waiting for your flight. My server, Nyesha, was attentive and helpful. At my request, she asked the bartender to prepare me a mocktail based on one of the standard cocktail menu options. I also had the lava shrimp appetizer. It was a good-sized portion, but a bit salty. I was in need of drinks and food before heading back to Texas. I had come to MI for my aunt's funeral. I was sad and figured a drink or two would help kill my emotions. Excellent service. Our plane was delayed, and we had a 4 hour time delay. What a fabulous place to waste time. Our drinks never went empty(even if it was just, eventually, water). There were two servers who circled us at the bar. We never had to go looking for any server. A well run establishment!!! The only food we had were the pretzels and they were ok. We were there on a Monday and there was even live music. If I ever find myself in this wing of the airport again, I will absolutely park my delays here. read more

Had the volcano nachos like we do at every margaritaville we visit. The chips were so old and stale. Ordered a mixed drink, watched waitress make it. Very light pour and added sprite to fill glass when drink didn't have sprite as an ingredient. read more

Dining at Air Margaritaville is the very definition of disappointment. The service staff is fine though way way way overwhelmed bc clearly management is cutting corners on staffing/scheduling. The food is "meh" at best. The eggs super greasy, to the point i wonder is maybe they were boiled in oil vs fried. Cant tell you how the toast is bc i didnt get any. I did get a colorful story about how management refuses to fix the toaster oven despite it catching fire twice. No milk/cream for coffee at 9:30am? No problem I can drink it black. But still? How does a restaurant (with a bar) that advertises their breakfast not have enough coffee? Its not like the place was packed. There are a lot of better choices in the terminal. Unless you are a masochist, i suggest giving this place a huge pass! read more

So glad this restaurant was here ... its only the first week. It's beautiful- a great view of palm trees and floor to ceiling windows, variety of cool/ happy music- makes me feel relaxed even though it's gonna be a long flight home. Food: salads, quesadillas, burgers. Able to sub salad for fries. Chicken/ cheese Quesadilla $12.49 was tasty and filling, enjoyed the salsa, sour cream and guacamole. Enough to share. Servers: upbeat, fast moving, and ready to answer questions Ambience: Key West vibe, what else? It's Margaritaville. A well stocked bar, I had a good beer. All tables were full, many with guys enjoying the Wifi and iced tea... causes a bit of a wait for seating & food. Maybe they can build them an "annex" to drink and surf the web. It's hard to find good food in the airport and let's face it it's all pretty expensive. This location was very accommodating and our waitress was on top of everything. She even pointed out how large the fish and chips was before we made three orders. Although we had our dog in his traveling bag it started to bark and the waitress immediately offered us a bowl of water. The service was quick and precise and I would definitely recommend this place to other travelers. As a bonus there are lots of plugs if you're needing to charge up. read more

Need a quick drink before my flight. Atwater Brewing was at the other end of the terminal (10-15 min walk). Closest to my gate was Air Margaritaville. Gave it a shot. I sat at the bar. Like: 1. The Bloody Mary. Good amount of vodka and was very spicy. Just the way I like it. 2. Service was great. I got my drink quickly and the way I like it. Dislikes: a lot of people left. The ones that sat at the tables. Sad to watch a lot of people leave because service was slow. One bartender and one server just not enough for this morning's early crowd. Just 3 stars for now. Great experience with reasonably priced options. 5-10 dollars less for food than other eateries around. Andrea was our server and she was professional and kind. We ordered some of the signature margaritaville drinks: the 5 o' clock somewhere & the Havana banana. Both were delicious and the 5 o' clock somewhere was strong, as it should be given the name. We also ordered pretzel sticks with queso & a cheeseburger in paradise (just like the jimmy buffet song) really enjoyed the burger and thought the pretzel sticks were a good portion for the price.
