We stay at the Westin DTW Airport when we have early flight out of DTW. We had dinner at "Reflections" which is the restaurant in the Westin. We ordered a burger and lamb meatballs. Both were really good and priced fairly considering the captive audience. The restaurant could have just "mailed it in" but the food was tasty. I wouldnt go out of my way to eat here. But if you want a relaxing evening before your flight the next morning, Reflections will provide that. Check into the hotel then have dinner here. Service was friendly and attentive. Waitress provided sufficient attention. Service with a smile. The restaurant is in the atrium of the hotel which provided a unique atmosphere. We would eat here again if we stay at the Westin again. read more

I get togo from here and the employees taking your orders seem to always be friendly. The first time I tried the lamb meatballs and they were not good. They were small and over priced to be so small. But I came back weeks later to try something else to see what else they have. I got the turkey club and it was delicious! It was huge and gad a yummy sauce on it. The arugula and quinoa salad with salmon is excellent--honestly worth leaving the terminal during a long layover. Getting back through security was quick and easy. For an airport hotel this meal was surprisingly good. I had the shrimp in red curry sauce, with white rice, and an arugula salad with beets and goat cheese. The salad was a little too sweet for my liking. Perhaps from the dressing, which was listed as a lemon vinaigrette, so that was odd. But overall I liked the food and would return. read more

Westin Detroit airport lobby restaurant. I could have had room service I think, but I ate here instead. I sat in the bar seating area so I think the restaurant area would have been a different menu and different experience. Table service was exceptionally slow, but I wasn't in a hurry so it wasn't a huge deal. They did do a good job of checking on me while I was deciding what to order and then just after the food was dropped, then I stopped seeing them. I think they may have changed shift while I was there, which was odd because it was definitely the middle of dinner service. The food was good. I ordered for dinner as well as for food to take onto my 5am flight and a sundae to take to my room. To go containers were great, they were a clamshell plastic that closed tightly. Nothing leaked through the airport trek (I didn't eat until on the plane). The sauce cups were 4oz, not 3, but that didn't end up being a problem at this particular airport on that particular day. It's nice to have a really convenient restaurant in the airport hotel. Prices weren't airport prices and the serving sizes were great. I had plenty of leftovers for my flight and ride home. I will definitely eat here again, though probably in the restaurant, next time I stay in the Detroit Westin. read more

Unfortunately, the restaurant and bar do not have the same standards as the appearance of the Westin Hotel here at the airport. Service is subpar to the terminal restaurants which is a negative as they should have better service and quicker, rather than slower. Not short staffed from what I've observed, but noticed the gathering place for the servers is at the kitchen area. Suggestion, goto the restaurant rather than the bar if you'd rather get timely service. If it wasn't for the convenance of staying at the Westin and taking an early morning flight out...this def would not be my top 5 choices to stay. We stayed at the Westin on a recent family visit to Detroit. Let me just say that this place (both the hotel and restaurant) was extremely convenient and comfortable. During the stay we had two breakfasts, one dinner, and a dessert. Upon arrival, I ordered room service for my 1-1/2 year old and myself while my wife had to run out for some family business. Side note - please forgive the lack of pictures of this meal; watching a young one and my mother-in-law's small dog can be a little chaotic ... Anyway, we split a turkey club with sweet potato fries (the fries were cut perfectly for a little one). The sandwich itself was good, however they went a little heavy on the aioli mayo. A little less would've been perfect. The star of this order was the sausage and kale gumbo I ordered for myself. I joined my wife and her family in the lounge later that evening where I sampled her burger, which was cooked well and sandwiched between a buttery brioche bun. A small dessert was all I could take down after room service. I highly suggest the Affogato and ice cream. They also had a kids menu for my daughter, which was nice but something I wish they had noted in room service. The breakfasts included steelcut oatmeal, smoothies, French Toast, and your typical eggs, toast and side combo. I like oats and a smoothie in the morning at home, so this was a very welcoming pairing for me. Overall, there were plenty of good options to go around for all tastes and preferences, especially on the dinner menu. I'll have to consider trying something like the coconut curry or the chicken piccata next time we're in town. read more

The food/service used to be excellent, and we loved coming here. Service is still good, but the menu has been restructured, and not in a good way. Prices have almost doubled with super limited menu items, and the food quality, well, pretty terrible--mushy flatbread was especially awful. It all used to be excellent; now it tastes like (elevated) heat and eat airport food. Sad times for consumers. (Wine and beer menu was decent.) Note to Marriott International: I expect to pay higher prices and can understand the streamlined menu, but the subpar food items were not well-curated. read more

We ate at this restaurant because we stayed at Westin Detroit airport for our early flight next morning. The restaurant is hotel main restaurant and it was awesome. So convenient especially when you have early flight. Don't have to leave the airport and deal with traffic. Our family all ordered same food- Korean Spicy chicken sandwich & we ordered dessert (l couldn't remember the name but able to take photo). The sandwich was so good, we all finished, wish they had more kimchi in the sandwich. Sweet potato fries (side of sandwich) was very good too but so much, none of us could get them gone. You know - sometimes you just gotta make the best of it. I'm sure we'd all have many other ideas as to where to grab a good meal, let alone a good burger, than here at the airport or even more so, the airport hotel. That said, and although I knew going into this meal the burger would more than likely just be ok, I jumped in with both feet and just made a decision to just enjoy the damn thing....and you know what? I did. I asked the waitress/server (not to offend anyone) for. Special concoction of mayo-ketchup and white vinegar. She obliged (see photos). I then proceeded to stir up my own version of a "Zip" sauce. (See photos). The burger arrived and I smothered that bad boy, both sides of course, with my little zip sauce and Bingo! Delicious. I've been here twice, for a drink and a late night snack is perfect, but for lunch or dinner is just not good. They have a "healthier alternatives" menu which makes absolutely no sense, it's just very, very, extremely small portions. DO NOT let them have you close to the kitchen, the whole place smells terrible and you will end your day smelling like reused oil. This is more of a place for business travelers but while I was waiting for someone to arrive at DTW I stopped in for lunch. You can walk from the terminal right into the hotel and it's the ONLY thing available on the public side of security. I had a quick soup and salad (the soup was very good, the salad was ok) and a drink (nice cocktail menu - wish I'd had more time!). The service was pleasant and I was able to get a seat near an outlet to charge my phone. So it was pricey but convenient and had a calming atmosphere. Everybody needs that sometimes. ;) read more

Pretty much what you expect from a Westin restaurant. The staff members are kind and quick to serve. The food was pretty tasty and there's a good variety to choose from the menu. The menu, just like most restaurants these days, is pretty limited. But I was hungry for a hamburger and their original burger hit the spot. D had the spicy chicken sandwich, which he liked. The burger I had here last week was soooooo good! I'm a California girl so my standard is In-N-Out. If you don't like In-N-Out, feel free to stop reading at this point and go find your soul. The burger I had here was literally the best burger I've ever had. And it pains me to say it because in not kidding, In-N-Out...my love. But seriously was shocked. I don't usually order burgers because...well you know why. I just never am QUITE satisfied. I ordered it because the alternative weren't what I wanted and I was tired after flying all day. Just wanted something quick and easy. I did the build your own and had it with cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled red onions, pickles, and thousand island. It was cooked and seasoned PERFECTLY. I mean perfect. Like, I had to allow down eating it because it was so good. There was a tiny bit of crust on it from grilling and the seasoning and I housed that thing! I was in Detroit overnight, then drive to Canada, and then back in Detroit before heading home, and I have seriously been thinking about how I can't wait to have the burger again all week. The menu looked amazing, but I was confused by why so many items weren't labeled vegetarian (like all of the salads) and why some of the things weren't labeled gluten free (like the the butternut squash soup). After speaking with the host and the manager, I got two different answers. I didn't really have any other options, so let them seat me, but was nervous I was going to get glutened or get sick from sneaky meat items. Thank goodness for Dave, my server. Only reason for the stars; he went above and beyond, constantly checking in with the kitchen. Turns out most of the salads were not GF even due to cross contamination issues, and they do not have a GF, but will bake them for you. Food was so so, but the service from Dave was absolutely fantastic. I have to be at this location again next week, and will only way here if I can have Dave, as I totally trust him. read more

After reading the reviews, I had low hopes. However, my experience was fantastic! The service was great- friendly, knowledgeable and perfectly attentive. The food was also tasty! I got the spicy chicken sandwich, which was recommended by the server and it did not disappoint. The fries that came with it were cooked perfectly and were gloriously flavorful. In fact, they are the best fries I've had in months (and I eat a lot of fries, ha ha). My dad got the chicken breast entree. He said the carrots were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The chicken was good enough that he would order it again, but he didn't rave about it. I'm very impressed generally for a lobby bar, but even more so given the impact COVID has had on many places. This restaurant appeared to be perfect - right in the lobby of the hotel with a nice atmosphere. I arrived shortly after 7pm. It took 10 minutes for my server to greet me, and I immediately placed my order (a small pasta - simple). Then I waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. We wanted to kill sometime while waiting for our connecting flight and decided to eat at reflections which is located in a Westin attached to the airport. The grounds were clean, updated, and serene. We were promptly seated, and offered the menu. I got the grilled chicken with swiss and fries. Hubby got spinach salad. Both were pretty good, and the service was friendly. It has great potential, and is a nice looking space, but the food is okay, would not come here if I was not waiting for a connecting flight. I've dined at the Detroit Airport Westin's Reflections twice, and both times were out of necessity and not necessarily choice. This most recent visit was due to my gran having been given a free room and food expense budget for the night. Long story short, she was forced to reroute from Columbus to Detroit, and her luggage was sent to the wrong location. It was a very long and stressful day, especially for myself and the family that had already driven all the way down to Columbus waiting for her. But alas, let's get to Reflections, that's what you're here for...not how I spent my entire weekend last week. The first thing you notice is the great atmosphere and decor. I love hotels, and I would personally love in one of I could afford it. The spacious airy ceiling, the pond, the lighting, the freshly cleaned smell, and the commotion of eager travelers and business people filing the halls. I love it all. Reflections sits at the lobby floor of the on-air port Westin hotel, and it's typically the only location for a bite and drink of you're stuck or are staying at the hotel. It's not cheap, and I wouldn't say that it offers too many options, but it's better than other hotel food I have had. Like I mentioned earlier, this isn't a spot where you go on a whim, especially not when you could be having a nice steak elsewhere for the same price. It's a designated location that provides for when you happen to be at this hotel or maybe meeting someone for a drink during a quick meeting or layover. To be fair, I was sick and had only ordered a pizza for myself, so I cannot attest to the entire menu at all. I'd ideally give the rating a 2.5 because I felt indifferent within the middle ground. So take these comments with grains of salt, as I did not partake in the majority of what the (pricey) menu had to offer. The pepperoni pizza was okay, nothing special, and it wasn't that hot. It's about the same size as a traditional medium size, so I'd say it's easy to share between two hungry people. The hummus platter was actually good. And both the order of sweet potato and regular French fries were fresh and generous in portion. To drink I only ordered a coke, because once again, I was sick. The straws are interesting because they're made of paper. The best part was the open atmosphere but also the very charismatic and helpful service. Our waiter was always ready to answer a question, fill out drinks without us needing to ask, or even just talk. Sitting off against the left wall, I was concerned that we wouldn't be attended to very much, but I was proven wrong. And to top it off, we even got the manager to come out and flame our Creme Brule right at our table. It always baffles me when restaurants don't let their customers have their dessert flamed infront of them, not only does it add to the experience and the enjoyment, but it also tells tables nearby to pay attention and order a portion as well. She was one reason we always came here to have a drink before a flight, The food at Reflections is now awful. I used to enjoy dinner here. The prices have skyrocket and the food quality is abysmal. It's a combination of Westin and Airport so prices will NOT be cheap. Very quiet and great atmosphere. Flat breads are decent, but for me the Spinach salad is the prize stallion.
