Ordered pizza and wings delivered to our hotel room on a recommendation from the front desk at our hotel. The wings were amazing and the pizza was very tasty. Was surprised how quick and courteous the driver was who delivered. Very good food for the price. Thanks to Kelly and Gary at the hotel for the tip.

When I think of Detroit, I think of good steakhouses, I think of Coney Island hotdog, Italian food does not always spring to mind. Leonardo's changed my mind. This is an upscale restaurant in a rather mundane strip center right by the airport. It is lovely on the inside. It has a very family sort of feel to it. I say that in the good way. It is a very nice Italian restaurant on par with some of the best in St. Louis. Certainly better than your typical chain Italian, including that one that everybody loves but whose name I can't remember. I would do most anything for good Italian food on the weekend. This time I went to Leonardo's. My wife and my friend Ben went with me. We've all been on the road all day. This was the end of a nine day vacation and called for a good meal. We started with a charcuterie board with fresh meats and cheeses, as well as olives, artichokes, and some other tasty tidbits. It was delightful very good value for the money lots of food to be had. It would've been enough for me to call a meal in itself, two people could've shared it and been happy the three of us got all of it we wanted. They serve a basket of fresh warm bread. This bread is made in house. It is more of a yeast roll really I can't describe it in any other way, but it is fresh and it's gooey and it's tasty and it is not out of a box. The main dishes came out next Ben had eggplant Parmesan. Karen had stuffed shells with cheese and I had veal Parmesan all dishes come with a side of spaghetti with meat sauce, and a delightful salad. I want to clarify that the salads came out first and they were a good fresh iceberg salad with lots of other vegetables, croutons and cheese and your choice of dressing. I can only speak for my real Parmesan as nobody else was sharing, but the veal was made in house hammered, thin, breaded, and fried. This is not a veal patty. This is real tenderized hammered thin cooked to perfection veal. I would've loved to have had their veal Piccata, but I did not think that I wanted something with that much olive oil. As it turns out, I would've enjoyed it. I know that their veal would've been excellent without the breading because it was that good. The side of spaghetti with meat sauce was incredible, it was delightful and I gotta say it was something that I would've loved to have had at home. The sauce is a good red sauce slightly sweet kind of like a St. Louis sauce definitely not an Olive Garden sauce and definitely Not a Chicago sauce. All of those are kind of orange. This was a true deep, red tomato based sauce. It was slightly sweet, which is the way I like it. It was not loose or runny and it had a good amount of hamburger. Meat worked into the meat sauce and I believe some Italian sausage, it was not overly complex and it was very tasty. Overall value for the money great three people little bit over 100 bucks with appetizers and salads and bread and three mains. We did not drink alcohol, my wife had a Coke Ben and I had water. I think that this place is probably underappreciated, the locals may not even know it's here. Leaving it to airport people and travelers. The travelers may not even be looking for it. I don't know, but it feels like a well kept secret the kind of place you would go if you knew it was there. Our servers were friendly. They were super nice very personable and took care of our every need and checked on us often. I'm going back next time. I'm in Detroit.

I seek out local establishments while on the road and Leonardo's is an awesome spot. Wonderful ambiance, incredible food and 5 star service checks all the boxes. I had the lasagna, my colleague had the veal and both were fantastic. We started with the calamari which was perfectly cooked and a great choice. I look forward to my next trip and Leonardo's will be a must stop!

I was in town for work and flying out of the Detroit airport. My coworker and I were looking for an option not too far from the airport. We stopped into Leonardo's and the ambiance was very nice. The atmosphere was inviting and not too loud as a lot of places can be today. We ordered the calamari appetizer with peppers and I got the chicken Parmesan for my main course. The entrees all come with a good size salad as well as a basket of bread. The portion sizes are large. I wished I wasn't getting on a plane as I wasn't able to finish it all. If I'm ever in the area in the future I would seek out Leonardo's.

It's a fairly nondescript place on the outside, off of the Detroit Metro airport strip. But inside, a slightly upper mid, warm location, especially the bar booths. I always try calamari when it's on the menu. It was shockingly decadent and perfectly cooked. Had a light, crispy batter with commanding roasted peppers...then sautéed in BUTTER. Plain evil! YUM! (Special shout out to the home made marinara sauce!) The salad that came with an entree was pretty nondescript. Tired looking and non-vibrant. BUT, the home made raspberry vinaigrette saved the day. Had a charbroiled salmon and and a carbonara entree. I simply cannot praise them enough about the taste and texture of the salmon. I it was incredibly seasoned with a deftly charred taste, yet it literally melts in your mouth (get it medium). The carbonara was similarly well executed, although slightly heavier than the best I've had. Still very very nicely done. Very reasonably priced also given the level of execution. And since my eyes were bigger than my stomach, I had to taste a thing they called pizza sticks. I think that's what it was called. But it's actually a huge, perfectly executed calzone. The dough was buttery and crispy and it was packed with melted cheesy Porky deliciousness. (Many other fillings were available, but I'll never not do pepperoni and ham). The food was so good, I had not even tried the bread that came with the dinner. Tasting the calzone made me remember and the dinner bread was equally delicious and crispy like the calzone. Finally, the wonderful waitress thankfully bullied me into having the tiramisu. I took it to go and had it later. What a wonderful tasty treat. (So glad this awesome waitress insisted !) To top it off, the owner came to say hello and give some history of the location. He seemed just a wonderful person who had been in the business for sometime and knows how to treat customers. It was old school Italian hospitality with a Vegas-esque handshake and smile. I cannot more highly recommend this location for food and hospitality. I cannot wait to go back.

First time trying this restaurant and to be honest if my aunt hadn't chose it I probably wouldn't have either. Not because of anything other than it doesn't stand out I guess it's one of those places that you've had to know about to go to. It's a very cozy restaurant with a lot of space I guess this is what you consider upscale Italian dining. I love that the owner made his way around and was greeting the guest and the waitresses and waiters were very nice and well dressed. We didn't try any appetizers because we were on a time schedule but the food was really good. I had a seafood pizza for the first time a little pricey but well worth it. Will return.

What's up Yelpies, This is authentic Italian at its best. Not just the food but the staff really takes it home with the attentiveness to each customer. Back to the food... the stuffed shells were delicious and the Chicken salad with candied walnuts, dried cherries and Gorgonzola was a flavor explosion that any foodie would enjoy. The atmosphere was super chill and the bartender was on her game focusing on keeping those glasses topped off. !!!eccellente!!!

Average. That's about all I can say. I have higher expectations when a place proposes to specialize in a certain cuisine. So just like it sounds, this is an Italian spot. We ordered a simple pizza with pepperoni and sausage with a canoli for dessert. It was fine. It wasn't quite good and not bad. Sauce tasted similar to certain frozen pizza. Toppings were nothing special. The cannoli tasted fine. That's all i can say Just not anything special. We ordered to go and they were nice and waited for us. We were a few minutes past closing and they still had our order. I wouldn't return and we didn't eat the leftovers. Gotta be better pizza in this area. Up to you

Conveniently located down the street from the hotel my family and I were staying, is this family owned restaurant that's been in business for 40+ years. The authentic Italian food is delicious and served in generous portions. My kids were happy with their mocktail strawberry daiquiris. My Chicken Alfredo was super creamy with al dente fettuccini. Our waitress was attentive to our requests and very pleasant. The dining area was spacious and well lit. I would definitely come back here again for a hearty meal.

The small restaurant has a quaint dining area that is very clean. The waitstaff (especially Carmen!!!) are friendly and helpful. They have a nice drink menu and the food menu is FULL of yummy choices. The 4 of us had no idea what to order. Carmen helped us out by offering to 'surprise us'. We were not disappointed! We had the cypress salad, the double pepperoni + honey ricotta pizza and the potato pizza. Everything was unbelievably delicious!! It would EASILY have fed 6 adults but we were happy to have extra to take home. The canola cake and tiramasu cake topped everything off! What a DELICIOUS MEAL! Make sure you take note of the pizza oven they brought over from Italy!! Carmen filled us in on the restaurant's beginnings with her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Francesca. Try this place out!! I came here for breakfast today, ordered at 10:10, breakfast is served until 10:30. I asked the waitress at 10:45 very nicely if she knew an eta, she ran awake quickly and said "idk it's hard because they are changing over to lunch but they are making it". The should end breakfast earlier if it's an issue. Finally got my food a little after 11:00. (50 minutes later). Food was dry, eggs were burnt. Also watched the chef that came in that was working brick oven argue with other staff and then he dropped a whole plate of dough on the floor. A bit shortly after came out with some dough, hopefully not the floor dough but wouldn't doubt it. Took forever to get bill as well. Anytime asked waitress for something she said ok and ran right away and wouldn't let anyone finish their sentences/ requests. All the people in the restaurant were looking at each other like wow this is really not a great experience. Table next to me didn't get their appetizer and had to order a glass of wine twice before it was finally brought. In summary only go here if you have multiple hours.
