Ate there plenty of times had a few mistakes like our order was lost that was a month or so ago chalked it up to a not a big deal. Today 2/9/25 at 12:15 we got here got coffee and ice tea only 3 tables full not that busy good for us. Waited 15min no order taken a couple came in after us at 12:30 got served immediately(not the first time this happened to us) and the server that was saposed to take our order said she had no idea that she was saposed to help us and took a few orders on the phone. Incompetent staff today. Won't be back taking our business to Flamingo down the street. Seems like you have to be good friends with the staff to get good service. read more

Very small from the outside, I didn't expect it to be such a cute mom n pop place when I came in! The theme is baseball at Original Philips, there's a lot of unique memorabilia on the walls. We came from the gym starving and wanted to get something before shopping and decided breakfast. I chose a special with eggs and biscuits/ gravy. My friend got a meat lover omelette. Really impressed with the customer service, our waitress was awesome and the other that was working & doing coffee runs was also attentive and quick to help. The eggs and omelette were really good. I wasn't impressed with the gravy, there needs to be something else with it. Overall super clean, very quick to get a meal, and service is awesome. Wanted it to be good, but it wasn't and the waitress I had was combative about creams past their expiration date that curdled. I was actually told to shake them and use them, I'm sorry but nope... What else is expired in their kitchen...? Obviously will never set foot in there again as the food was as equally bad. Biscuits were microwaved so long they had hard spots, or were just old and the gravy tasted oddly sweet, maybe it was also expired. My visit was on a Monday Morning at 8:00. I was given my choice of seating of which I took a small booth. My waitress was very prompt. As soon as I sat down I was offered coffee, and there where menus in pockets along the wall. I chose the Philips Special. It came with basically two of everything. (Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, toast.) It came within 15 minutes of ordering. My coffee cup NEVER got less than 1/2 full as the waitress was always making rounds through the tables. I saw they opened at 7am, I called around 7:20 and it kept going to voicemail saying they opened at 7am...whatever I was already in the area so I just walked in to get my carryout. There was a couple ppl drinking coffee, regulars I assume, one man got up to get his own refill. Waitress was pleasant and my food came out quick, I just got an order of biscuits and gravy. It was pretty good, $3.99 for a full order, I gave her 6$ and she appeared shocked that I tipped her on a carryout, which is sad, I wish people realize that you should tip on carryout orders. My family and I got breakfast, and my son was disappointed they didn't have waffles, but his pancakes were as good as any coney island would make. The bacon however was cooked perfectly. Service was ok because they were busy, and though the poor waitress never stopped running around, she was too busy too provide what I'd consider "good" service, like a coffee refill, or remembering we asked for ketchup, but again not her fault cuz they were packed. I really believe a lot of people think this place is awesome, and i actually have pretty low standards especially for local little diners cuz i love supporting the community. i plan on trying them again for lunch, but if it's not any better than breakfast it'll be my last visit. I've been here twice. The first time was ok, the second time made me decide to never come back. The bacon was old looking and tasted old. I sent it back, asking for sausage instead. I could hear the cook complaining that "that bacon was beautiful". As a Chef myself, I know what old bacon looks and tastes like. The sausage came and there was a hair in it.
