This slick car salesman conniving owner refused to take back the very same boots he bent a knee and laced up on my feet and "insisted" I walk out wearing em. Today he said " once they touch the concrete they are un-returnable" he stayed he can't resale em nor would red wing accept em back. He even said they were still hard and new as well as his associates that said the bottoms just had to be wiped of the dust. I would have got another selection but now I would like nothing but my money back. I explained that I own several red wing boots and that maybe this model boot doesn't work for me and he still refused. I would recommend that you shop via the redwing.com . My last work shoes had to get dumped after it got soaked from the California December Rains and proceeded in getting moldy. Bf recommended me a number of different shoe brands that specializes in work environments, which can go anywhere from restaurant to construction sites. Red Wing Shoes was recommended by him, too. However, my problem is that 1) I'm a girl, 2) I live in California. Which means that 99.999% of all shoes available in California are more focused on fashion, and exposing toes/skin to absorb the Californian sun. Obviously, this is a negative when I need to try to find practical, durable, resilient shoes. Also, I tend to be in weird environments (from greasy floors to the pouring rain), so I needed something that could withstand most weathers. My friend, bf, and I were driving on Beach, when I noticed the store sign. I made a mental note, and asked bf if we could go to the shop within the week. Came by yesterday after work, and was greeted with a small shop. Employees were very friendly, and incredibly helpful. They found my exact fit using their machine, and I tried on a pair of shoes that were probably one of my most comfortable pair I've ever felt (and the most expensive pair that I would ever by). I obviously well need to upkeep it because it is made by leather, but they do have services to help maintain your shoes. There's more or less plenty of parking in the lot. It's right on Beach Blvd, so you can't really miss it. Warning: these shoes are expensive, but that's what you get for quality. A pair for women's is around $90+, while men's can be anywhere after $150+. Also need to take into account of tax. I think the customer service was the big plus for me. I asked plenty of questions, had plenty of worries in terms of how much water the shoes would take, but all of my questions were answered politely and knowledgeably. read more

Horrible customer service. I went into the store with my mom who was looking for some suede protection for a pair of boots she purchased from the Costa Mesa store. As soon as we walked in, the guy behind the counter started belittling her & making snarky comments. Awesome friendly service got a size too big and with the whole covid pandemic they have to bring the shoes to the door for you. Called back the next day and the guy said they had the size I needed and swapping them out was a breeze. Only reason for 4 stars is that they don't apply the tough toe for you and the tube I got must have been old because the first half would not come out and I ended up with a thin layer and air bubbles. Second shoe started out hard but a minute in it started flowing and I got a pretty good application. I'm wondering if I can add a second layer of tuff toe or just pick up an extra dispensing tip to fix my first boot? read more

Never heard of this store, but was helping someone out to find shoes for their welding class. The moment we walked in Bryan was very friendly and welcoming. He was very informative and helped select the right shoe. I learned a fun fact about how shoes are sized. Bryan is the model employee because he not only knew his product he was selling, but was attentive to the need of the customer. He made sure he addressed all the concerns and wants we had. There is no better shoe store that caters and fits to your feet then here. All kinds of places claim to be the best toughest shoe/boot but these guys made it for a reason and have prices like they do for a reason and can prove that to you I love these boots and trust me or not but its takes hard work to get what u want well it takes a lil pain to get the boot you want and once these boots mold to your feet there is no way u will remember to take them off at home anymore you might even try to go to bed in them. My father told me he had came here to buy work shoes since he had heard that Red Wing had really good footwear for work. Bryan was the one who "helped" him. My father had purchased a pair of boots that was half a size too big for him and he tried to exchange it on the SAME day he purchased it. Bryan did not let him. I was super mad for my dad so I decided to help him. I went on the Red Wing website to see the return policy since Mr. Bryan here didn't have the policy on his receipts. Lo and behold, it turned out we CAN exchange/return the shoes we purchased if we are unsatisfied with it within 30 days. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the male employee that helped my father and I was extremely helpful and nice. Bryan was "on the phone" when we came. I was looking for a sturdy workboot and the Redwing Rover "fit" the bill. The salesmen at this location were very helpful and informative. They had me stand on a shoe sizing machine that suggested a boot much larger than I had anticipated. I typically wear a 9 and their sizing machine recommended a 10 1/2. Whoa! Here comes Big Foot!! After I questioned the size, I was informed exactly how a boot should work and why the size was larger than expected. Well, don't question the sizing masters! Customer service is going down. Bought my first pair in 2010 and another this year. The difference between bringing my boots in to be cleaned is 100% noticeable. 2010 boots were unlaced, scrubbed clean then treated. New 2015 boot; not unlaced, tongue is still covered in dust and dirt. Stitching all over the boot is still dirty and along the soul. Very unhappy... Usually wait about 5-10 minutes to get them back, this time I got them back in about 30 seconds. I'll have to buy my own saddle soap and clean the boots at home. read more

I understand we are all dealing with the impacts from the Covid virus however, the lack of effort, willingness, and customer service was lacking tremendously at this location two Saturdays in a row upon trying to purchase two pairs of boots from this particular location. All the sizes for 3 styles were completely sold out, all the computers were down and the employee didn't want to take my shoes in for repairs that I would be perfectly capable of paying a 110 dollars for, the only effort would be filing paperwork and sending the work order along with the shoes. It was disappointing before I returned the next Saturday with the stores open and employees answering the phone but not allowing customers to shop before an employee quite that day and there was only one person working and he said he couldn't handle working alone so he couldn't open the doors to let us shop. Strangely when I tried to shop the other Saturday there was only one person working that day and he was open, letting customers in, just lazy and didn't want to go in the back and look for sizes just said everything was sold out. So clearly u wouldn't recommend this location. It was a complete waste of time both visits as I was unable to purchase anything or have repairs done. It almost felt like the employees were refusing to help customers, strange. read more

Horrible customer service. I had bought a pair of boots online and they were the wrong size so I wanted to come in to try on a pair that would fit right before trying an exchange. I had bought the shoes from a different company but the response and approach from Bryan, the manager on duty, was honestly rather rude and unkind. He had basically told me since I'm not buying a shoe from them he didn't want to waste time helping me try on a pair that fit. If the store had been busy and packed I would be more understanding, but it wasn't and there were a total of 3 customers and 2 employees. Was put off by the sales guy/owner/son-of-owner. He didn't like the fact that I bought a boot for fashion. He made the comment that folks that walk into his store buy boots for work. I actually do also wear Red Wing Shoes from the Heritage Collection for work. I love my work boots so much, I bought a second pair on sale from Nordstrom for casual use. Went to his store to ask how I should care for this particular leather and he said they must be defective or cheaply made to have bought them at the price I paid. He even suggested that they were old stock that Nordstrom was trying to get rid of even though the manufacturing date on the tag read 6/14.
