I got a pair of excelons, first of all the shoes were not comfortable, the steel plate in the toe is annoying and I couldn't wait to switch back to my regular shoes after then end of each work day, then about less then two weeks to into owning them I noticed a hole I could shove my whole thumb down into in the front of the shoe... three weeks later they called me to come pick up the shoe and the hole was still there. Wow..They didn't even fix it.. so they sent it out again.. about a month later I'm wondering tf is going on so I just called corporate and tell them about the whole situation.. the store manager Joe reached out to me about an hour later, telling me that he called me to let me know the shoes were done. Also got an email from Sarah P telling me that they called me to let me know the shoes were done.. Regrettably I made a purchase with Ruby and was sent home with the wrong size. I called customer care and called them out my experience... Gio the manager called me and worked out it for me. I understand that Red Wing has gone downhill warranty wise over the last few years. I understand this companies have to stay in business. However, this particular Red Wing store has always been a problem. I needed warranty done to my boots so I took them in and showed it to them. They said they had to order parts and it would be a week. A month later I called them back. They said oh sorry it got here weeks ago and we never called you. I get this sometimes people get busy. I brought the boot in so that they could warranty what we had discussed prior. When I came to pick it up the warranty item that was in not done. The employee was babbling about some other thing that had nothing to do with what we had talked about prior. I was then told the item that they had ordered for my boots to replace was not covered by warranty. This of course is not true. The bigger takeaways is instead of just straight away denying the warranty. They made me waste several trips to the store to end up with the same result. I've been coming to the store way too long and I've always had shitty service. I should know better that's my fault. I just got in contact with Red Wing customer service not only did they tell me it's not how business is done but they went ahead and ordered the part and sent it to my house without question. They need to shut those stores down. I would I have wasted a minute dealing with this online. read more

Customer service is absolutely terrible. Bought a pair of boots 4 days ago, and wore them for two days of work and noticed the sole starting to separate from one of the toes. Brought the boots in and the man in charge didn't even get up from the reclined chair he was in and told me "looks like you kicked something, that's not a defect, I won't return those." I've worn many different pairs of boots of varying brands including redwings in the past and have never had a sole even show signs of starting to come unglued. Can't be mad about the product, s**t happens, but the lack of care from the employee just completely turned me away from ever stepping foot in a redwing store again. Now gonna be $450 into this pair of boots after taking them to a cobbler to have them fix the issue. read more

I am writing this due to a terrible customer service experience at the Redwings Westminster CA store #789. I had bought some boots last week and paid to have the tough toe put on. I was told I could pick them up in a day. I called several times for a week before I was finally told the manager was going to get to it. The next day I picked up the boots and the tough toe epoxy looks terrible. It looks like the tape was put on poorly or taken off too soon which allowed the epoxy to run. Also there's a large bubble in the epoxy. The following day I returned to the store with the boots and spoke with the manager. His handling of the situation made it worse to say the least. He said "it's epoxy it's not an exact science" and stood there waiting for me to respond. Several of his comments made it clear that he did not care about making the situation better any way. I know that doesn't sound all that bad, but it was enough to make me write this message. Honestly I can't see myself spending as much as I do on Redwings boots if that's the kind of service that comes with them. I'll likely be trying the Origin boots next. read more

I walked into the store in July as a first time customer. I asked about some products to which the sales team did not seem to have much of a clue about their products and tried to push higher end items. I ended up ordering a pair of King Toes with the estimated arrival time of 1 month maybe a touch longer. I also was asked to pay up front because they "would be very unique and difficult to resell". I have a few issues - it's October and my boots aren't here and I have no ETA. You told me when I called weeks ago, that you'd call me back with an ETA on the following Monday, and then didn't. I shouldn't have to pay up front for anything until it arrives and I try it on. Also, for the "premium experience" you advertise - I would expect your sales team to be top notch. I've got 2 stars instead of 1 because I am assuming I'll get a refund when I call in today. Oh, one last thing - why do you open at 10?! Anyone who works a job that needs these boots generally works early in the morning. Why not cater your hours to your clientele? I expected more out of your brand. read more

Store looks amazing, staff are fun and cool, BOOTS are shit. For the price tag of $250. the soles on the boot ran out quicker then all of the sneakers I own, some being 10yrs old. The sole also started separating and cracking. I'm a bit tripped out on it, granted, the boots are probably 6 months out of warranty. but I haven't worn them since December 2021, I was in a car accident that stopped me from working, so everything with the boots happened in less then a year. I just now looked at the boots due to trying to work again and they've not held up. I'm a truck driver 8 hours seated...for reference of wear and tear; I left the boot with red wing to see what they can do. Nothing against the staff, love you guys; but so far; quality of merchandise isn't right, how it's handled is tbd. I asked my wife to go to this store to purchase new Red Wing custom moldable inserts for my new pair of boots, that she gave me for my Birthday. I also asked her to pick up free laces for my old pair of boots that I wear to the job sites. My wife, not knowing anything about the store previously had ordered my new boots online. Bryan was helping her at the store and became irate that she ordered my new pair online. Bryan threw the laces on the counter and went on and on about not making money on the laces. He threatened to not give them to her and she was confused. My wife tried to explain that the laces were for my old pair of boots, but Bryan kept being rude and complained that he was sick of all the dumb hipsters that ordered their shoes online and then came to him for free laces. Bryan thought it was his responsibility to rudely educate her on with frustrations and make her feel responsible. Bryan should have taken the opportunity to make my wife feel comfortable with her in store experience so that he could assure her future business. He could have thanked her for buying the soles in store. But instead he scared her away and now she will probably never want to go into his store, or any Red Wing Store and we will both just buy what we need online from now on. read more
