Asked about online availability and the lady said perhaps but made no more attempt to look up engage or sell. I walked around and low and build find 3 casual styles with no steel toe and no work bottoms?? Was waiting for 2 older gentleman to chime and pick up the slack but nothing. These guys are top notch. I went in to buy some new boots because my old Irish setters were super worn, lace hook broken, soles worn through, toe had stitching worn through causing a hole. I did buy new boots and when I asked them to throw my old ones away, the woman said she can fix them. She did the new hook for the lace for me, new soles, sew the toe hole back up then I had them tough toe them. The also put on new laces for me and oiled them. Now I have a winter and a summer pair of boots. I'm definitely a redwing lifer and as long as this store is here, this is where I'll be going read more

Came in to return my boots for another size. The lady the helped gave me the wrong size the first time. The guy that helped me this time around and was very rude and had an attitude. I think he was the owner and didn't want to lose a sale. Told me my boots were too worn to return. I only wore them when I tried them on. So first off they sold me worn boots. My work safety program buys me $200 worth of shoes every year and they go through red wing or bootbarn and the boots that i bought made my feet and knees sore after only wearing them one shift. When i tried to exchange them i was told they could do nothing for me. Even being one of the last customers of the day and her probably just wanting to go home she was super nice and helpful. These are by far the most expensive shoes/boots I have ever bought in my life and was scared of getting the wrong size , but because of her I left completely satisfied. Customer service sucks. I bought a pair of shoes for my husband and they said it will be in next week. So I called the following week and they said they won't be in for a few months. So I went into the store and had to wait 20 minutes for someone to help me to get a refund. Every pair of shoe that he picked out they were out of. They need more staff and more shoes. read more

About eleven months ago, I stumbled upon there store, had a few minutes to spar, so I went inside. I didn't need anything; just seeing what they had, or what was new. It turned out they had one shoe I like, and they even had it in my size 14C. I asked them if they can be resoled? They assured me they could be re-soled. I asked them if the stitching came out, of the shoe's stitching along the sole could be re-stiched. They assured me that it could be restitched! I asked them if there was a warranty on the shoes. They claimed their shoes had a lifetime warrant. So even though I didn't need any shoes then, I purchased them for when i needed them in the future. I finally started eating them about a month ago. They felt strange; too hard on the outside side of the sole, and too soft on the medial side of the sole, causing the sole, this causing the sole to roll to the mm edial side. The shoes are $200 shoes!!! The second or third time I wore them, barely the defective sole caused my right foot to roll to the medial side, and broke the stitching from the heal cup to the cup for the steel toe! They are so new the bottom of the sole looks brand new. And the leather part of the shoe doesn't need polish yet. They are barely broken in yet. But now then are btoken after wearing them just a couple of of times! Remembering how they said they could be restitched to the sole, so I took them to three different Shoe & Boot repair places. Each one of them assured me that, contrary the the lying sles people at Red Wing, they did have a Life-Long warranty, or any warranty! And they could be repaired! So I just flushed $200!!! Went back to Modesto, and the store I bought them at, but they refused to do anything for me, and rudely blew me off. These shoes didn't even last a month, or long enough to get broken in! We are into ranching & farming, so we wear boots or steel toed shoes all the time. But I work too hard for my money to be flushing it, $200 at a time! So it will be a cold day in hell before I will ever flush any more money on a pair of boots from Red Wing!!! I'd expect better of a cheap pair of Chinese factory made boots or shoes from Walmart!!! read more

What a poor excuse for a business. I understand the fear of the Corona Virus however this company takes this to the extreme. They are better off being closed during this time than the way they are preforming business. You must know your shoe size, shoe you want and call them on the phone while standing at the front door. No entering the store allowed, no trying on of any shoe. You must enter your credit card thru the mail slot and they will then open the door to give you your box of shoes when the transaction is complete. This is simply pathetic.. seriously if you are that scared for you or your employees health STAY home you are not providing an essential business for anyone just ticking off your customer's. Everyone needs shoes you can not operate like you are a fast food drive thru. Once again... Nice store. Lots of shoes on display but it really sucks when you come in ready to spend $350 on a pair of shoes and are told they don't have your size but can get it in 2 weeks. If I buy on line can get free next day shipping right from the factory. No wonder local stores are going away due to online competition. I purchased a pair of work boots for roughly $150. Within 6 months the sole was seperating from the shoe allowing water in to soak my socks. I heard redwing offers a warranty.. so i took them in. I was a few days over waranty they told me. So i just bought another pair. $200 this time. Within 4 months even worse water coming in through the sole. Toe completely tore up. So again i took them in.. this time within the warranty period. They informed me that wear and tear voids the warranty and there was nothing they could do for me. Also the staff in the store was very unpleasant and rude.. and allowed me to leave the store completely unsatisfied. My job even has an account through Redwing, but I will NOT be shopping there again. read more

I rediscovered some old Red Wing boots in storage that I thought I had lost. I had cleaned and oiled them prior to storing and did so again when I found them. They survived well in a box but the insoles needed to be reworked. Understandable since they were in a box in storage for a lengthy time. Red Wing on McHenry in Modesto fixed my boots free of charge. Very nice. I not only found my boots, I found the true value of Red Wings: they are well made, are comfortable and are backed by Red Wing on McHenry. You can see and smell the quality when you walk in the store. I am telling my friends to consider Red Wing if they want lasting quality and lasting commitment to customer service.
