Meh. Put our names on the list over the phone about 20-30 mins before arriving. Still had to wait 15 minutes for a table when we got there. Ordered a mai tai to drink. I've been in the service industry for years so I know it's hard to taste the liquor in sweet drinks when there's juices & syrups in it. However, this literally just tasted like the drink with no liquor at all. I couldn't taste any alcohol 1 bit. Service was pretty slow, not sure if our server was new or what. Why have I NOT been to Red Lobster since 1987? These biscuits are the bomb and I'm having what I consider to be a pretty bomb Patron margarita with side car of Cointreau. The new crab dip is fantastic and fresh. SMH about how long I've avoided this place because it's a chain. We went for dinner last night. The cheddar bay biscuits did not disappoint. Everything after that was just OK. We shared an appetizer of seafood stuffed mushrooms. They were ok, a little salty (a common theme in this meal). My wife had tilapia and coconut shrimp. The tilapia was dry and flavorless. The coconut shrimp was ok. Her clam chowder was ok, also a little salty. I had the ultimate lobster roll, which came with lobster bisque. The lobster roll was pretty good; it had plenty of grilled lobster meat on a buttered roll. The lobster bisque was - yep - a little too salty. The mashed cauliflower with parmesan cheese was pretty good, but overcooked. We live in New England, where seafood lovers tend to put down Red Lobster because of the multitude of seafood restaurants available, but we used to like going here every once in a while and enjoyed the food until this visit. It seems to have lowered it's standards. What is with all the salt?! read more

Remember when Red Lobster use to the THE BUSINESS? No lie, I think I cracked open my first lobster when I was like 5. I don't know if its the chain itself that is going to heck, or that I'm older and have experienced better. Seems like no matter when we decide to go, it's always busy. You think they'd start building bigger lobbies. Kinda cold to have to wait outside with that little crap beeper. I swear if Cortes party of 2 didn't come by that 4th call, my last name was about to be Cortes. We actually had a pretty good waiter on this night, so I can't really complain. He was on point with the soda refills too. A little too on point. I think I took about 2 sips of my soda before he replaced it. Red Lobster has also gotten surprisingly expensive. If I'm going to drop $70 for a meal, I'm going to go to a better restaurant next time. However, they do get an extra star for those damn butter biscuits! read more

Since my review a couple years ago, I have stopped in (not by choice). The hubster has a weakness for the cheddar bay biscuits so we will come for dinner now and then. Service has improved quite a bit, although they they are still a bit slow. They are getting better at checking up on you and bringing refills. Getting the check still takes a bit of time. Red Lobster is always packed around dinnertime, especially on the weekends. Finding a parking spot can be a hassle and you might end up just parking on the street (at least it's a side road). Waiting in the lobby is not ideal as people can be rude and push you around when it is crowded. We always wait outside if that is the case (and I am pretty claustrophobic). This last time we went it was Valentine's Day. The wait was over two hours, but they have tried to make it easier for folks by allowing customers to call one hour ahead before they arrived to be placed on a waiting list. That way they would only have to wait one hour when they came. Another tactic Red Lobster used was taking down phone numbers of waiting customers so that they would get the phone call when their names were close to the top of the list. Instead of waiting around, folks could leave and go somewhere to kill time until they got the phone call. We didn't have to wait long as we started chatting with another couple around our age and they invited us to share the table with them. That was so awesome! Hubby ordered his usual dish (shrimp linguini Alfredo) and I decided on the Parmesan crusted tilapia and the berry mango daiquiri. The daiquiri was delicious and the tilapia was cooked perfectly. It was probably one of the best meals I probably had at this establishment. Probably good to come when it's not overly busy. Not the best place to dine if you want something better, but still a pretty good deal for a decent meal if you don't mind the wait. read more

Terrible experience, the food took 90 minutes to reach our table, and when it did, half of my meal was cold, and the shrimp were not hot and tasted terrible. My son who was celebrating his birthday said "This is the longest I have ever had to wait for shitty food" This made my heart break because I wanted his 18th birthday to be special, and Red Lobster ruined his birthday dinner. Went to lunch with husband today and service was SLOW!! The food did come out hot and was good. But other than that the experience was just average. We were seated right away, but waited 15 min. for someone to come take our drink orders. We ordered our food at that time and waited another 15 min. for our drinks to come. She did bring our salad and biscuits at the same time. She then came and brought the bill, I asked for a refill on drinks and she didn't get to the back so couldn't bring them! Was not happy with that answer. As we were sitting there a woman came in who was larger and they seated her alone at a 6 person table. When they walked back to the host station, one of the girls laughed and said they had to take a whole table to seat her cause she was too fat for a booth. She said it loudly so those around could hear. HORRIBLE!!! So I give 3 cause the food was good, but the service sucked! Our waitress was Erica S. The hostesses were a tall young black girl and a med. hight Latino looking. I am only putting this in hopes a manager sees this and talks to them for their actions and words towards guests. read more

Really enjoyed the all you can eat shrimp for dinner. Theres 4 different entrees to choose from for only 12 or 13.99. Great value. The waitress was nice enough to let me take home a whole container full of linguine shrimp alfredo. Bread rolls were delicious. Fun experience. Otherwise it isn't healthy, was really greasy, and loaded with simple/complex carbs. Ugh. Not my favorite dining experience. Thanks again to the awesome waitress. I've heard good things about Red Lobster before. So my girlfriend and I decided to try it out. We made a reservation beforehand but apparently the hostess did not write it down, so when we arrived we waited for about 10 minutes which wasn't so bad. The starter bread was actually really good. We both ordered steak and lobster tail, her's medium well, and mine medium rare. When our steak came out, my girlfriend's steak was well done, and mine was beyond well done. The waitress was very nice and offered to cook another one for me as I worked on my lobster tail. The lobster was dry and under seasoned, did not taste fresh at all. Overall the experience was not like I expected at all. The only good thing about the experience was the bread and the waitress. read more

Someone gave me Red Lobster gift cards as a birthday gift and I'd been carrying them around for over a year. It had been many years since my last visit to a Red Lobster and I was hesitant to return. The service we received was really great, and the waiter and manager did refund the cost of the item I was most unhappy with. I got a platter with a "Maine" lobster tail, and Caribbean Rock lobster tail, and a shrimp/lobster alfredo, I upgraded my other side dish to a lobster mac-n-cheese. They don't give you an option for how you want your lobster cooked, so the "Maine" lobster comes split and broiled (which really dries it out), and the Caribbean Rock lobster was a much larger portion but it had a fishy taste that was really unlike our New England lobsters and I didn't like it. The alfredo greasier than it was cheesy but it wasn't the worse thing on the plate, THAT award goes to the lobster mac-n-cheese. There was no cheese, and it was so salty it wasn't edible (this was what was removed from the bill). My husband got the surf-n-turf and also upgraded his side to the mac-n-cheese... he also rated it inedible. The last shocker was the price. I had 1 rum and coke, my husband had 2 beers, and after the charges for the lobster mac-n-cheese were removed it was still $118.00 before tip. I know my husband and I won't ever be back to a Red Lobster. If I get any more gift cards, they'll get re-gifted. I don't know why anyone would eat here, if you want a good seafood dinner go down the road a bit and for the same money eat at Saybrook Fish House and have much better quality food. read more

So, I've been to this particular Red Lobster location more times than I'd care to admit, namely because the wait times are always long, the food hit or miss and the customer service pretty lacking. However, last night, despite it being a Saturday night, the wait time was very bearable (we were quoted a 40 minute wait by the friendly hostesses and seated in much less time) and the food was actually pretty good. What killed it for us was the terrible service by our waiter, Scott. He forgot my daughter's iced tea, which was ordered when we were seated (after it took quite a while to have our drink order taken), served me a visibly rotten salad (which was sent back), forgot to bring out biscuits, forgot my son's water refill, did not ask to refill our drinks and spent more time at other tables while he made a nanosecond stop at our table after we spent quite some time flagging him down. I don't know if other parties were his priority, but he made us feel as if he couldn't care less about us being his customers. Every single time he came back to our table, he literally spent seconds with us before running off, just to spend lots of time chatting it up with all of his other tables. I should mention he did make it a point to bring my son's water refill out right before we paid the check in a "complimentary to go cup (his words)" since we were "so patient (again, his words)" in waiting for him to come back to us. Scott obviously did not think his service was lacking in any way but we certainly felt otherwise. I don't know if he had too many tables or needs retraining, but in any event, the service was really, really bad. We won't be back to this location or to any Red Lobster for quite some time. read more

Very disappointed with Red Lobster. First the place smelled funny and the ambiance wasn't nice. Bread and butter is a nice touch, but it wasn't too tasty. I ordered lobster tacos and got what you see in the photo. A ton of coleslaw and a bunch of small lobster chunks tossed on top. One of the tacos (left) had literally two pieces. The other two had about 3 or 4 pieces. I ended up taking out some coleslaw and puting all the lobster in the same taco shell. So I actually had 1 lobster taco for $16. The lobster chunks were NOT tail, and were rather dry and tasteless. I've been wanting to try Red Lobster for a long time since their marketing is so appealing, but I doubt very much I'll ever be back. read more

I was pleasantly surprised. I have never been to a Red Lobster before because my state had none. I would watch commercials all the time and wondered if it was really worth trying. On Father's day, my brother-in law along with my sister and mother drove from RI (My home town) to CT(new residence) to give it a try. The place was packed and we were on an hour wait. Location & Atmosphere Pretty cool, a bit chilly but cool. Clean and better than expected because of the Father's day crowd. The plus was that it was really close to my apartment. Customer Service Excellent! I was surprised on how the servers kept their cool despite the many people coming in. It must have felt overwhelming. Our server, I think his name was Chris (white, tall, dark hair and maybe 20 something years old) was cool, calm, and courteous. He was patient with us despite his many tables and their questions. WE appreciate that a great deal! Food: Pretty good and way better than I thought it would be. I get enough of those biscuits even though they are bit salty. I have to start by saying that I am NOT a seafood person. Not. But my best friend is, and he really wanted to go to Red Lobster for his birthday, this year and last year. I went. I figured that anywhere you go, even if it's a seafood place, at a sit-down chain they'd toss a grilled chicken breast on a salad for you, right? Nope. I was offered *shrimp* on a salad, but I don't like seafood. So I'm giving this place thee stars because my friend, whose birthday it was and therefore whose opinion matters more, really enjoyed his dinner. The biscuits were KILLER. And the plain green salad I had was OK. I have been here twice. the staffs very pleasant. the food is delicious, especially the steak and lobster. On the first visit we ordered an appetizer (clam strips) They weren't very good, but my fiancée ordered the steak and rock lobster, and I had the bar harbor lobster bake. The food was amazing, I also love their biscuts. On the second visit both my fiancée and I ordered the garlic steak and crab entrées, I also ordered quo hog's, I love cherrystones so I figured the quo hogs would be just as good, they where ok, but not as appealing as cherrystones, I also swallowed a piece of the shell which scratched and irritated my throat, then 3 bites into my steak there was a piece of hair In my food. I was upset, but the staff and manager where wonderful on making things right. The manager asked me if I wanted something else or the same thing I decided to get another steak which was amazing. She also took off the charge for the quo hogs and my fiancée ordered an Irish coffee and they gave that to us on the house. I'm sure that it was just a fluke that night and will not deter me from eating there again. read more

The food was great!! But the service was awful. We were seated and then it. Took 20 min for someone to take our drink order then we got our drinks, I had the red passion colada which came with a strawberry that was moldy. They took the drink back and didn't remake it; instead they just put a new strawberry on it. I know because I took a sip before I noticed all the mold and when it came back there was still some missing. This place is terrible ! The wait is EXTREMELY long, the floors are dirty, the staff were laughing and playing at the counter instead of behaving in a professional manner, and their online "wait in line" system is a sham. I get here and check in and after waiting over 40 minutes I was told the wait in line system can put you anywhere it feels like in line (most likely the end) and does not cut down your wait time nor hold a spot in line. I get it's busy, but there are staff having a good ole time in the front but there's no one in the back to help clean the floors. My first impression while waiting for a table gave me second thoughts and I should have left. First the windows to main doors are covered in dirty greasy fingerprints, second the floor in front of check in desk has debris on it, easy to pick up but staff walking over it. I thought maybe they were busy, but when called for our table after 15 min wait , I noticed many empty tables. Once seated we were given menus that were completely disgusting and I refused to even touch them. Table felt sticky had the smell of the same wet cloth that had been wiping it down all day. I went with my fiancé for our anniversary, the wait was only 15min so me and my fiancé sat at the bar for drinks until we were served shortly after we both ordered from the lobster menu, being how it was lobster fest. Our waitress brought us steaming hot cheddar biscuits immediately. Food arrived pretty fast about a 10min wait the food was fresh, descent size and our waitress was amazing. she made sure our drinks were always filled and we didn't need anything at all. def enjoyed my night there! read more

I have now visited this particular Red Lobster location twice. After my first visit, I was extremely underwhelmed by both the service and the meal I chose. I thought that perhaps it was partially due to my poor selection of food and figured that I'd try something new if I ever came back. Fast forward a few months later. My boyfriend and I were in the area and decided to stop by Red Lobster on a Sunday afternoon.... The wait was horrendous. It was only the two of us and still we had to wait 45 minutes to get seated. However, the service we received once we got seated was exceptional. The young girl was attentive and quick; she's the reason I chose to give two stars instead of one. We first ordered the lobster pizza to share. Neither I nor my boyfriend were too impressed by it. It was rather limp and even a bit soggy. There were barely any "lobster" chunks but tons of soggy tomato pieces. We didn't mind too much because we had ordered it just to try it, we didn't want to get too filled up on an app anyway. Then our meals came. I was extremely excited to try mine, I had ordered the "Wood- grilled Lobster, Shrimp And Scallops" meal. The presentation was gorgeous, the plate looked delicious. Yet when I started eating, I was HORRIFIED by the amount of salt that drowned out the flavor of my lobster. It was absolutely terrible, and this is coming from a person who loves to sprinkle extra salt on their meals. I have no idea what happened, I REALLY hope that this isn't the standard way that they prepare their lobster. The shrimp was decent, but there's not much room for error there. My scallops were decent I guess (slightly mushy), but one of them was tinged a pink color and tasted really unpleasant. My boyfriend ended up taking his shrimp alfredo pasta to go. It was standard, not that great but not that bad either. Overall, I would not visit Red Lobster again. Perhaps it's just this location that is lacking but I just don't have the patience to go through another visit. The meals that you get here fall short of both their descriptions and their price tags. If you're looking for delicious seafood, you're much better off eating somewhere by the sea. I find that non-chain restaurants are MUCH better at preparing seafood, especially lobster. read more

My favorite menu item when I head out for dinner is seafood. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad or questionable meal at Red Lobster. I like quality and quantity of food. One of my favorites is shrimp. My favorite time to visit Red Lobster, therefore, is when the restaurant offers endless shrimp. Oh yes! we drive over an hour from our residence to go there during endless shrimp days. Better expect me to throw away my reserves then because I love scampi and other shrimp menu items and I could easily embarrass you by what I can, and do, put away. Having said all that, Red Lobster serves up generous portions of meals, but their specials are the best! If you prefer your seafood prepared in a special way, the Red Lobster will accommodate your needs. Wait staff is friendly and considerate. One evening, we met as a group in Red Lobster. I will honestly say that the service we received that night - and it was an endless shrimp night - was the best ever for me personally and everyone at our table was in agreement that the service was extraordinary. We wrote our waitress a glowing report of superior service experience and made sure it was turned in to the manager. On a scale of 1 through 10 with 10 being the top, this server deserved a 12. Incredibly responsive, efficient and thorough, this woman should have been serving at "The Company Inkwell in Washington DC" or some exclusive high price point restaurant in New York City. So, to summarize, based on our experience I would say that we love the seafood at Red Lobster, have generally always had good service, go there whenever we want a hearty serving of seafood. It's not the fanciest, classiest place around but you can always count on very good food in our opinion. As far as the rating about the dirty guy in the kitchen, that is incredibly bad of course. Truth be told, there are way too many "human piglets" in our world now and does anyone connected with the human race ever really know that everything is clean, good and "kosher". If I knew this had happened, I guarantee I would have called the Health Department on that jerk - either then and there - or the next day. One way or the other, I would have done my part to stop him from ever repeating such a crude, rude act on another unsuspecting person. Further, if I had seen it, I might just have grabbed the manager and had him follow the plate out to the customer, retrieve it back and made the ass eat it himself - Well, it's hindsight, is not my job, etc. but when there's an injustice, I always act and I would have acted then. I say if you know this happened, do something about it! For all of us diners, unsuspecting, don't agitate the folks trying to do their job needlessly. You never know . . . I recommend Red Lobster.
