3.5 stars My sister wanted to treat me to Red Lobster, we hadn't been in years. The parking lot was full so we parked on the street but thankfully the wait was only 20 minutes. Our server was polite and efficient. My drink was delicious. All of our order came out hot. My sister ordered the Admiral platter which was the typical platter of fried seafood you'd expect to find. I ordered the Dragon Fire shrimp which was very spicey and surprisingly very good. My sister casually had mentioned earlier 'order whatever you want its your birthday' and much to my surprise the server remembered that and sang Happy Birthday at the end of dinner. She was very sweet. This was exactly the experience we expected at a big chain seafood place. We had a good time and we would return. read more

The food was good. It was tasty but not outstanding. The scallops could have used a good sear on them but flavors were good. The atmosphere was nice. The lighting was inviting & they had games to play at the table on a tablet type thing. My boyfriend & I had fun. The waitress was good. She seemed a little upset at first then was warm and friendly after a bit. The drinks took a little longer then they should have for how slow it was on a Sunday night. I took my sister here because it was her Birthday and also her favorite place to go when they are promoting all you can eat shrimp dinners. Now before I go any further, let me say that in the past I have been here and my experience then was not positive but I thought, ok, it's been a few years, I go with a " positive" attitude. Well, nothing has changed. The atmosphere is very dark, interior hasn't been updated and I tried 3 different shrimp dishes and all were overly seasoned with salt, took a long time between dishes, and super overpriced. It's so sad to witness the death of a restaurant chain, but we had a gift card to use before this location closes like so many others. Apparently, suppliers are not getting paid and not delivering. They had no lettuce, so no salad, no lemons and no potatoes (we ordered baked and the waiter apologetically brought mashed, which obviously are instant). I'm enjoying a beautiful day with my mom and lunch at Red Lobster. I enjoy my top shelf long island ice tea. My shrimp scampi always delicious and my mom enjoys their salmon blackened with cajun seasonings. They have a sauteed shredded zucchini very good and more delicious sides. The key lime pie is pretty tasty. If you visit CT stop in Red Lobster and make sure you ask for Sharon she is the bubbly personality and she's a veteran waitress and she knows the extensive menu. Sadly this red lobster is now what it used to be! The service is very lackluster and the waitress made me feel like I was a burden for asking for a refill or extra plates. Most of the food was delicious, the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the roasted rock lobster tail.. it was so over cooked & rubbery I couldn't eat it. It amazes me that as much as I eat out I've NEVER been to a Red Lobster. Well, cross that off my bucket list! It's a generous 3 stars. Nothing was bad, and service was actually very good plus we were seated right away on this Thursday evening (always a wait on weekends). The problem was - nothing was really good and the prices are high for the quality. I had lobster tail, shrimp scampi, fried shrimp and scallops (forget what they call it). She had lobster tail, shrimp skewer and salmon (again forget menu name). The scampi were small, fried shrimp mostly bread (though menu describes otherwise), scallops dry and lobster tails not bad; but certainly not great. Upcharge for over cooked asparagus, uninspiring salad and surprisingly good cole slaw and fries. Add 1 soda and a cocktail and we were at $82 + $16 tip or $98 for what tasted like Howard Johnson's or something. It wasn't horrible but I certainly won't be back. 5 minutes away is USS Chowderpot that will serve bountiful portions of fresh seafood that's better in every way. Especially lobster. We did take out at the Wethersfield location. We ordered seafarers feast, salmon New Orleans, salad, and cheesecake. The bill was $90 and my husband added a $15 tip to the online order. This was a Birthday dinner celebration We DID NOT receive the salad and the cheese cake. We did not discover until we got home. The value was over $10 that we got shorted. Besides the disappointment of not getting all we ordered. I gave 2 stars because the Brussel Sprouts and main courses were delicious. I suggest that you review your food if you do take out , as you may be shorted and not compensated, and will be disappointed that you don't get everything you ordered. They felt like they'd just come out the freezer...glad the parasites were frozen :-) (I had the ultimate feast which is $20 on Thursdays before 6pm!) Red lobster is one of my favorite places to go for comfort food. Their prices are reasonable and you get a lot of food. Complimentary cheddar bay biscuits tastes awesome. Waitress keep filling it as you finish it. Generally I take the last filling of biscuit home. We had the shrimp trios. Definitely good value for money. Even better it comes with a salad and a side. I upgraded my side to Creamy Langostino Lobster Mashed Potatoes for extra $4. That was a mistake. It was not worth that price. I should have gone with a regular side. Zucchini zoodles was an interesting concept. I liked the Parmesan Truffle Shrimp Scampi followed by garlic shrimp scampi. Spring Roll-Crusted Shrimp came with a spicy dipping sauce which was nice. The hostess was RUDE and made us feel as though it was an inconvenience for her to actually do her job. Needless to say, we walked out. It's sad that there are so many people unemployed that actually want to work and yet some of those that do have a job take advantage and don't understand that customers are the reason for the employment. I have reviewed this restaurant in the past and only doing a new review because things really haven't changed. My first review was about a year ago and was a one star then the general manager messaged me and resolved my discontent. Then I deleted it and posted a better one with improved rating. Last night 7-12 I again went in with a party of 7 it was my daughters bday. The waitress appeared to do everything the easy way. We sat in a long booth and we had to pass everything to the people on the other open ended side of the booth instead of the waitress walking to the other end to serve. On one occasion we had to pass a margarita past 4 people and yes you guessed it, the drink was full and spilled a bit into one of our meals. We were served our salads and waited 6 minutes to get utensils. No food should ever be served without utensils. SUGGESTION: since this has happened on my past visits perhaps the hostess should deliver the menus snd utensils when seating a party. We got our meals all together with the exception of one person we had to ask three different servers to check on it. They served her after 10 minutes half of her snow crab legs saying the other half will be out soon (10mins later). Half way through the meal I did get a bit hasty with the waitress when she wanted us to continue to pass the addition margarita down to the other open end f the table snd I said. Really why do we have to continue to do this, this is not ok when we are eating. From that point on she was a different person. She snapped into the waitress mood and probably knew it was going to be reflected on her tip. Sorry but first impressions generally stay with a customer. The food was excellent they made my noodle lobster pho exactly as ordered no hotness only ginger sauce. The others were also pleased with the food. Great job to the kitchen!! Don't think I'll return again 2 disappointments out of 3 is not excusable. Please. I do not go to Red Lobster alot, for starters. This location and place was chosen by the group I was with. You cannot make reservations, which sucks. We had 7 people in our party. We checked in at about 2:50pm *on a Saturday* and didnt actually get seated until 3:45ish pm. We waited an hour to just be told and shown 2 tables that were SUPPOSED to be put together, seperated. We asked for a manager, they advised they could sit us at a round table....ok fine! The waitress was nice, for the most part. This location needs to have better communication and professionalism. I understand covid has us all looney and frustrated with life but it seems like the place is run by youngins. There isnt anything wrong with that but some of them werent pulling their weight. I observed them. One boy asked if we needed anything, to just forget. We had a feeling he wasnt going to come back to the table . Why did he even ask if he was going to be a jerk?! I was enjoying my coconut fried lobster tail, and when I moved on to the lobster and shrimp medley it was surprised by a long strand of hair. Yuck!!! Lots of shrimp We don't have Red Lobsters in Rhode Island but we do have tons of great sea food restaurants so it's probably just as well. Ended up at this one in Connecticut when a friend got enticed by the endless shrimp sign. This particular one is under renovation so the outside looked like crap but once through the door the place was clean, tidy and oblivious to the chaos going on outside. Nice comfy interior with some pleasant, friendly and attentive staff. The endless shrimp dish was indeed endless shrimp of five different varieties. Unfortunately 3 of the 5 were heavy on the garlic and I hate garlic but that did leave me with the plain, breaded shrimp and the shrimp Alfredo. Not bad but certainly can't compare to the great shrimp dishes we have by the ocean. My friend said he loved his garlic shrimp choices and was quite happy with all five choices. They way it works is that you only order two types of shrimp at the start and then are allowed to order just one more each time. Isn't as complicated as it sounds because out waitress was so attentive and keep asking us in advance what we wanted next. She definitely knew what she was doing. We certainly left with our bellies full of shrimp which was the whole point of stopping here. Not bad for a chain restaurant and nothing disappointed but I have been spoiled when it comes to seafood. I must say that I was a bit disappointed. I hadn't been to a Red Lobster in many years and this was not the way I remembered them. I got the $20 Admiral's Feast which has just about every fried seafood they have. The disappointment comes from the fact that the seafood was not properly cooked. Accept for the shrimp, they were all overcooked and rather tasteless. It was like eating breaded globs of something. None of the items looked anything like the photos you see on their website or on yelp. I will have to think twice before visiting this location again. Follow-up: As a result of the above review, I was contacted by their guest relations department. I received a $25 gift card in compensation for the above visit. Red Lobster has been giving lobster a bad name for years. I am not really sure what the draw is at this location. Wehn we went this place was packed, we waited about a hour to be seated. The garlic type bread was ok. The shrimp is not really shrimp it is more langastino's, they make a lot of it, mostly fried and some scampi type dishes. Whenever they do the all you can eat shrimp or endless shrimp whatever they call it they usually give less and less as you want more and more. The lobster is tasteless, a result of freezing and cooking over and over and over. The rest of the seafood really isn't a show stopper. I am really not a big fan of the people, place or food. There are always a ton of really loud families in attendance at this location that always make the bad situation worse. Would avoid on weekend nights and in the summer if you want to try. I have been sitting on a gift card for Red Lobster for about a year now. There are simply so many wonderful seafood choices in Connecticut, and closer to us, that it didn't occur to my wife and I travel down the Silas Dean, but tonight was the night. I've always believed that Red Lobster does not serve real lobster...only lobster tails. I'm happy to report that this precocieved notion was squashed as soon as we walked in and saw the beautiful lobster tank with over a dozen lively crustaceans. I wasn't here for lobster though, I'm saving that for summer on the sound. We Perused the menu. My wife chose a double shrimp skewer over wild rice, and I had a lobster bake of sorts, over a bed of linguine. I was pleasantly surprised at the freshness and quality of the seafood. Everything was cooked very well and was as juicy and sweet as could be. My wife's shrimp skewers were the same, although they seemed a little skimpy on the wild rice. I was wavering between three and four stars. The food merited A good score, but the level of attention and assistance by our waitress brought my rating to a solid three. Still not bad, and I can understand how Red Lobster has developed a legion of loyal fans. Will be go back? They didn't give us any reason not to, I thought as I said at the beginning. Me and another family member went there yesterday evening and we had dinner, as we always go in there when we are in the area. We ate a variety of seafood items. After we ate there and left we started having abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting that led to a visit to an urgent care facility. Only to find out that something not good in the food, it's a shame how the quality of the food is changing there, as I used to consider it one of my favorite restaurants. I've been in the service industry for years so I know it's hard to taste the liquor in sweet drinks when there's juices & syrups in it. However, this literally just tasted like the drink with no liquor at all. I couldn't taste any alcohol 1 bit. Service was pretty slow, not sure if our server was new or what.
