Meal 1: Crab legs meal: before placing the order we asked if they would de-shell them as we weren't in the proper attire to do it ourselves. They insisted they would so we ordered the snow crab legs. - Crab legs were not de-shelled, and when we asked that they complied with their promise we could clearly see multiple waiting staff members refuse to do it until they sent the new guy to do the job... needless to say, he didn't know how. He got my boyfriend's shirt all dirty... Meal 2: Seafood combo had a lobster tail, 3 shrimp, rice (I believe) and broccoli. - Everything was saltyand greassy, my plate was actually cracked and the worst part was the broccoli. It was black, not because it was spoiled but because it was covered entirely in sal & pepper. I told the waiter and he said he would bring a new portion but never did. I worked at this one a few years back. I remember one time I saw one of the bartenders picking up an order of buffalo wings in the kitchen. Took my husband here for father's day for the first time turned out to be the worst decision ever. The service was horrible! Our waitress was very inattentive and not friendly at all. She took forever to come around and even serve us drinks. My husbands meal was "ok" as he described but mines was awful. The service was poor. The spirit of service in the wait staff was subpar. And the TV ads make it look better than it is. We ate here on August 15, 2016 for lunch. For Wethersfield Ct. Location only. We like this Red Lobsters in Wethersfield specifically as we have eaten here many times. My wife from The Dominican Republic really likes this place. We have heard that the same chef has been here for many years and this may be why we prefer this location. We enjoy the shrimp scampi and virgin pina coladas. The warm bread is always good and I like the flavor of the blue cheese dressing that comes with the always fresh salads. The staff has almost always been excellent serving us and we are repeat customers. The all you can eat shrimp days are my wife's favorite meals. This Red Lobster has consistently served us good basic seafood meals. We also enjoy the Chowder Pot in Hartford for seafood. read more

Red Lobster Review A few weeks ago my family and I went to Red Lobster after church for a family dinner. It was a Sunday afternoon so the restaurant did not appear to be full. It was about 27o outside that day, and yet it was colder inside the restaurant. It took almost 45 minutes to get a table! The atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet and calm, and if you kept your coat on you could keep warm. The lighting in the restaurant was slightly dimed to the point where it gave a calm feel. When we got our table, there were food crumbs on the seats and on the table itself. We didn't have a menu for at least 10 minutes. When our waiter finally got us our menus he asked us what we wanted to drink, wrote it down, and left. When he came back he forgot three of the eight drinks we had ordered and he took another 10 minutes to bring the other five. So, we had been sitting there for about 25 minutes now and only had drinks on the table when we realized we didn't have any bread. After more time passed, the waiter came back and took our orders; he said the bread would be out in a second. As we sat there, we could hear the waiters and waitresses laughing and joking around, my mom actually stood up and told them, "Keep it down, the baby is trying to sleep!" She was quite irritated. Now, it had been 45 minutes with no food, not even some bread. The waiter came with our food. I ordered the Shrimp Linguini Alfredo. It is tender shrimp in a garlic parmesan cream sauce on a bed of linguini. What I loved about my food was that the shrimp was just slightly grilled and the linguini was cook just right. What I didn't love about my food was that the Alfredo sauce consisted of more water than the sauce. It was definitely filling. My aunt had gotten the 4-course feast. She chose the Cajun Chicken Linguini Alfredo and I had a bite. The chicken was juicy and lightly salted; the linguini was cooked to perfection. We finally got our bread and it wasn't even cooked all the way!! The outside was crunchy but the inside was completely dough. Every time I go to Red Lobster the bread is to die for, but not today. My brother had gotten the kid's mac &cheese; it was pitiful. The mac &cheese looked like they made it was from the box, put in the fridge and then heated back up on the microwave. Finally, we got dessert. We ordered the Chocolate Wave. It was a warm, rich chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. That cake was moist and the ice cream had a creamy consistency. Overall, I would personally go back because I love this restaurant in general, but I won't be going back to the one in Wethersfield, CT. read more

Recently was in for dinner with my family. It was toward the end of happy hour on a Friday night but surprisingly not super busy. We only had to wait a few minutes for a table. Our waitress was nice and even though we she was busy with other tables, she made it a point to stop by our table and say I'm sorry for the wait, I'll be right with you. Our food came out in reasonable wait time and tasted great! I ordered the lobster tacos and they were delicious, nice big chunks of lobster with a yummy sauce on top. We also got a happy hour order of mozzarella sticks and I was happy to see how many we got for just $5! The happy hour house white wine was also good at a great price. Usually I can never find parking but this night I was able to find a spot in the lot near the door. Staff at host desk was also nice and even offered to show my child a lobster. Took a little road trip with some friends to this location. We were quickly seated and put in am immediate order for as many baskets of cheddar biscuits as possible. We were not disappointed! Had a tasty strawberry flavored cocktail and some green bean fries while waiting for our entrees. The batter on the shrimp could use a little flavoring, it was mostly just a salty plain coating. The lobster tail was good and the bay scallops were tasty as well. Service was friendly and prompt though our table was full of plates (there were 4 of us) and our server took quite a bit of time when it came to clearing them off. This was our first time going to a Red Lobster. The call ahead seating wasn't very helpful because we still had an hour wait when we got there. However, the service was excellent. Our server, Keena, was fabulous! She was very friendly and did an excellent job keeping up with the demands of our very large family (there was 14 of us). It was truly service with a smile! She is really the reason for so many stars on this review. The food was good, however, ironically, everything we got was good, except the lobster! Two of us got lobster rolls, which were PUNY...I mean...super puny!! They had about 3 pieces of lobster meat on them...no exaggeration! (I wish I took a picture!) My roll was squashed, the meat was balancing on the top, and the roll was not even toasty. Anyway, the shrimp was good, as well as the pasta dishes, salads, & appetizers. The kids meals are really for little kids because they are very small too. They were good, just VERY small. Their drinks were very good. The deserts were ok..just pricey for the size. All in all it wasn't a bad experience. We drove an hour to get there, and I can't say I'd be in a hurry to do it again soon though, if I'm being honest. read more

Spent the evening being ignored by my server, got the wrong food, waited 20 minutes for a fix, then no apology or attempt to turn the experience around (just a new plate of food arriving after I got hungry and ate what was in front of me). Look, if you mess up or the kitchen messes up fix it quickly and get a manager involved to make sure I come back (even if it's just taking the appetizer off the bill or whatever). Don't walk away when I point out the error, come back with the menu 5 minutes later to point out that I did indeed order what I said I ordered, and then return 15 minutes later with the right food. At least tell me what's going on. On top of this, the entrees were overcooked and the app was disappointing (just melted cheese and leftover lobster bits?).
