I go to RL when I get a seafood craving. The service is generally acceptable and the food doesn't reek. Add to it that you can get a special or that the general menu isn't going to require a 2nd mortgage, you have a fairly decent place for a good seafood meal. Terrible service. Our drinks took 20 minutes to come and for the entire 2 hours we were there, it was never refilled even after I asked. I ordered the Caesar Salad with salmon added to it. The price on the menu was 9.99 for the salad + 5 something for the salmon. The food came, there was no salad, just the salmon. When I told the waitress I hadn't gotten the salad, she came back with a small bow of lettuce and a side cup of ranch dressing. I had to tell her many times that it wasn't what I ordered .. she argued that that was the side of the salad.. btw, there was nothing other than lettuce, no croutons, or Parmesan like it supposed to.. i asked for the menu so I could show her, she refused to bring to the point that she said she was just going to ask them to remove the salad from the bill.. ok.. when the bill came, I was charged almost 15 dollars for an "A la carte Salmon".. i told her that must have been a mistake again so she argued and went get the manager who also wanted to argue with me that that was the correct price because I only got the salmon even though that wasn't what I ordered! We took my mother-in-law out for dinner here at Red Lobster (She loves RL). They told us there would be a 20 minute wait so I went in to get some drinks. What I saw was disappointing, they had 6-7 empty tables that were not being bused that were available. When I got to the bar I mentioned this to the bar tender and she commented that they were never this busy on a Thursday night and were under staffed (They may want to rerun their numbers now that school is out). When we finally got seated and placed our orders all seemed to be okay but the temperature in the front of the restaurant was HOT which is where we were seated. I went to the rest room which is in the rear and it was nice and cool. We received our food after a long wait and it is what it is decent food that is a bit over priced. My wife's side was asparagus which was burnt and she didn't touch it. My daughter and I both ordered the Cesar salad and they drench it with dressing. Me and a friend of mine decided to do a week of lunches going to,different restaurants each day through the week and red lobster was our Thursday lunch spot. Those that go to red lobster often,know this but i always forget about their lunch specials I had a 15 dollar lunch special included salad, soup, entree and dessert omg was so good. This was the worst dinner experience. We came in early for dinner. The host was not present and had to wait for him to show. The place was practically empty. It was the same when other guest arrived. Once seated, we had to wait a long time for the waitress to show to take our order, again the place was not busy. My clam soup was mostly liquids and barely any clams. My broccoli was still raw. So, had to try it; the lobster and waffles. And you know what? It was better than expected. I haven't been to a Red Lobster in probably 15 years, so I didn't expect anything amazing. The waffle, kind of works with the maple syrup. It didn't taste exactly like the biscuits, but it was surprisingly good. Not delicious, just good. Unfortunately, the syrup soaks through the waffle and make it super mushy if you use more than a little. So, kind of a fail on that. Was it worth $20? Sure, if only for the novelty of it. I enjoyed it, but will not have another. My date on the other hand, had the truffle and lobster mac and cheese. That was, legitimately, gross. How I was able to pin point it to the food from there is that we had a doggy bag and I ate it today after keeping it in the fridge since bringing it home. I ate it today and voila! Like a bad dream, my stomach is churning and burning again. We had the unlimited shrimp that. We pretty much ordered every single one just to try it and we also ordered the clam chowder bowl and calamari with fried broccoli and red bell pepper. The restaurant was really gross, the bar top was literally stacked with about 100 dirty cocktail glasses while only having one patron at the bar to tend to. I came in to this location for dinner late Saturday night and impressed by not only the food, but the great service we received from our waiter. Our server was very great at going over the menu and was friendly and constantly came and checked on us and refilled our drinks. He alone could have had us give this place high marks even if the food had not been the best but luckily the food was also great! It was fresh, hot and tasty, and I don't even need to get into detail about the amazing treat that are Red Lobsters Cheddar Bay Biscuits!!!! I had the shrimp and crab linguine Alfredo. I didn't see an option for just that on the menu but requested it since it was featured in one of their specialty items. The flavor of the sauce was delicious but the crab was over cooked and I had 3 pieces if that. The amount of shrimp provided was a good portion though. We also had the cookie and ice cream desert which was really good. My spouse was disappointed with the chocolate in the middle of the cookie. Forgive me Yelpers for I have sinned against the tenants of being a good locavore and chef owned restaurant devotee. I am here today to confess my longtime affair with a chain restaurant...Red Lobster. I know it is wrong to love this restaurant the way I do, but I can't stop myself from occasionally going there and pigging out on cheese/garlic biscuits. The broiled flounder, that I've ordered since the time my choices were from the children's menu, has never improved or diminished in quality. The lack of creativity is like the familiar cuddle of an old love when comfort is needed. It is cheap, unadventurous, and desired when the food needs are at their most basic. The worst service I have ever dealt with. I sat at the bar for 10 minutes with no service meanwhile 4 waiters stood in a corner and had a full conversation. When I finally got service i ordered all my food and drinks at once to avoid having to wait longer it was another 10min before I got my drink that tasted like it had no alcohol in it and my food came out wrong I just got up and left I didn't have another 30min to wait to recook my food or wipe off the coleslaw and reserve it to me. I've always had a weird aversion to Red Lobster. I'm not sure why. It just wasn't really a place that I thought was a place I would want to go. Well, it turns out that some friends of ours bought us gift cards to the Red Lobster/Olive Garden conglomerate and since we already had "money" in the pot, we decided it was time to go. We get in the restaurant and it's not too busy. At least we didn't think it was. We ask for a table for 2 and they say the wait is going to be 20 minutes. We look at the bar and it's basically empty. "Can we sit at the bar?" "Sure." We walk over there and there are 5-6 tables that are empty and I'm a little confused. Of course, I don't understand the restaurant business and they tell me that they have tables available but they don't have enough servers. Well, there you go. The wife chooses the 4 course meal and, of course, she doesn't eat seafood so she gets the house salad, tortilla soup, chicken fettuccine and a dessert. I can't decide but I ask the bartender, "Is the Lobster in Paradise good?" Before I'm done saying it, he's already nodding, "Yes. It's my favorite thing on the menu." So that's what I get. The cheddar bay biscuits come and they're piping hot and they're pretty delicious. I can feel my arteries hardening but it's worth it. The salads are good. Normal salad but it's fresh and prepared well. We finally get served our entrees and about 5 minutes in, The Wife says, "Hey... Where's my soup?" Sure enough, the bartender forgot to bring us our soup. When we ask him about it, he is visibly disappointed in himself and he's very apologetic. We tell him it's no big deal and he apologizes again asking if he can do anything to make up for his mistake. "Do you want to talk to the manager? Do you want two desserts or a full sized dessert?" We didn't want anything, other than the soup, but he was so insistent that we finally caved and got a full sized lava cookie. The Lobster in Paradise is a lobster tail that's been butterfly cut and then dipped in a coconut batter and fried. I don't like coconut but I went ahead and got it and it was pretty dang good! It also comes with shrimp scampi and grilled shrimp. Both are good. Not great but there's a good amount of them. The Warm Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie was so good. We got it to go and it was still good after warming it up in the micronuke. All in all, it was a pretty good experience. We came out of there at $50 after tip. A little on the high side, but kinda what you'd expect if you get an entree with lobster in it. read more

We were there on a Tuesday night about two weeks ago. We waited 40-45 minutes to get a table **for two**. They weren't that busy, they just didn't seem to be in any hurry to seat us. The service was meh and the food was so-so at best. I ordered the "endless shrimp", received my initial plate, then ordered more shrimp and never received it. After waiting 25 minutes for more shrimp (and not receiving it), I caught a different waiter, demanded my bill, paid out and then left. This is unacceptable. Ok. I confess. I like Red Lobster. Last week, I was rear ended on the way to work. The culprit's insurance agent made it sound like the insurance adjuster would be out that day to look at my car. I decided I needed to eat lunch close to the office so I could hurry back if they should call. Red Lobster, is close to my office, score! I walked in and they were so warm and happy to see me. Anything they could do to make my day better? I ordered a Boston Tea and a Build Your Own lunch with fried shrimp and shrimp scampi. It was great and I left feeling not quite as stressed out about my day. Well, I was left to my own devices again on Monday so I went back to Red Lobster. I tried something different, hoping for leftovers so I didn't have to go to the grocery store this week. I wasn't as thrilled with what I ordered this trip, the Seafood Platter. The fried fish wouldn't hold on to the batter and the crab cakes had an off taste to them. The service here at this location is over the top and every server says hi as they pass your table and make sure you are ok, on the off chance your server hasn't been by in the past 5 minutes or so. A group of us went on a Friday night expecting mass amounts of mediocre shrimp (can't expect anything perfect when it's all-you-can-eat), but the entire night was worsened by the lack of service. The waiter was a nice guy, but he really lacked at his job. Everything was great until we received our first round of entrees. We waited 30 minutes just for him to come back and check on us. When he finally came back to see if we wanted more shrimp, he ignored me and moved on to another table. He then spent a good 20 minutes chatting up a table of female coworkers. My glass was empty for an hour, and he just continued chatting away. After we got our checks, he went back to the table and chatted again for another 15 min. We had to walk up to him and give him our checks. Several attempts to get ranch were forgotten and/or ignored. Food was never served at the same time. Glasses were dry for ages. We had dinner last night (7/30/16) at the Plano location. Dinner was fine. The fried clams were cooked to oblivion and that wasn't the major problem. What was irritating is that you placed the overflow seating for people waiting to get a table in the restaurant proper. So my wife and I are trying to enjoy her birthday dinner while Ma, Pa, Grampy, and Grammy Kettle are sitting right behind me watching us eat. My wife is literally looking them in the eye and apologizing for the mess she is making cracking crab legs. It was incredibly unpleasant and ruined what was a lovely night out. Please, if I spend $80 on a meal I should at least have a reasonable expectation of not having non-diners stare at me while I eat. I didn't ask for spectators or their approval while I eradicate the seafood population of the ocean..... Bear in mind, the entry to the place was over 30/40 feet away. The staff brought these people back into the dining area to sit and wait because the foyer was full.... If the entrance is full, wait outside or in the bar but don't let them back here to screw up my meal. The Cheddar Bay Biscuits were UN-Friggin' Believable!!! Hot, gooey, fresh, cheesy goodness. Now I was getting Mellow! Food arrives and my Rock Lobster tail had a brown hue that screamed out "Way the hell OVERCOOKED!" to everyone but the waitress, the expediter, and THE COOK! It was dry as a bone and tough as watching Charlie Sheen rant. The Main Lobster tail was not as bad but still not what I was looking for in skillfully cooked seafood. I sent the Rock tail back and was met with more animosity by our server. Tense again... The Manager came over and said she saw the tail and could tell from far away it was overcooked. If it was so overcooked why did it hit my table? Was it a "Just see it they will eat it, we are too busy to worry about quality" situation? They did replace the tail, the new one was just slightly under the last one. Still dry as a bone, how disappointing! My Mom's platter was a bland mess, we were glad we had the CBB to fill up on. Well, when I left I still had my craving for Lobster, good service and value for Money! What I did not have was about $80.00 on my CC!
