I rarely give out one stars but this really bugged me today and I thought that I should probably say something. We never got to eat there since it was a 1.5 hour wait on Sunday. Whoever the manager is there, I am so disappointed and really hope that she got coached. This sweet older man came up to the front desk to ask for a straw and the manager looked at him like she was offended and said "um I'm the manager and not the server so Let me find you a server" manager or not you are a team player so you need to get your customer a straw! I wanted to go up to her and coach her! Well I hope she gets trained someday. read more

Wish we could give this place less than 1 Star. Went in Saturday November 16th were told an hour wait. Waited 2 hours, were told "you're next" so 10 minutes later we see them seat a party of 5 that just walked in at the table that was supposed to be for our party of 6. Just because they said "we were told that table is ours" manager did nothing stand there, hosts would walk into the back and just talk instead of clean tables off. This location is above and beyond the worst location I have ever been to. Went there for my sons birthday, didn't even get to sit and eat. Had family from out of town and everything. Not again! I should have just walked across the street. Explained to the hostess we were meeting another group for a business lunch and they want to stick us next to the kitchen entrance. The food is old, worn out and a poor value. At $20 bucks a plate there's much better options. I would have kept my options to myself but what bothered me more than the below average food was the entire lack of any service after we ate. We became the invisible 4 some. Horrible service. Dined there tonight with some friends from out of town, for context we had a party of 6, 4 adults and 2 children. First we were told that it would be a 20-30 minute wait, but when we hadn't been updated after 40 minutes, I inquired and was rudely told it would be another 20 or more minutes as they had to wait for their larger parties to leave. Another member of our party asked to speak to a manager and we were then quickly seated. The service was very slow overall. We had a longer than desirable wait for our drinks, appetizers, entrees, and tickets. Had our friends not had a gift card they wanted to use, we would have likely gone elsewhere. The hostess had a rude demeanor and was not a friendly type that you'd typically desire to have at the front of the house to greet customers. I normally wouldn't write a review for a suburban restaurant chain, but this particular Red Lobster really impressed me. We walked in at 10:30 on a Saturday night -- half an hour before closing -- and surprisingly got really great service. Despite working on their closing activities, three different servers bent over backwards to take care of us and make our visit terrific. Our drinks were constantly being refilled. The food was just as good as always, and they kept constantly bringing us more of their irresistible bread. Even at 11:00pm -- closing time -- they brought out more hot fresh bread (completely unsolicited) and even gave us a bag of it to go. This was easily my best Red Lobster experience. 4 stars is the max I'll give a suburban restaurant chain, so to me this is as good as it gets. read more

We tried again. Unfortunately my food was served to me cold and cold coconut shrimp is not good . I asked for the manager snd guess what no surprise one never showed up. We told the server they were cold both the shrimp and potato, she must have microwaved it as the shrimp were tough and rubbery now and not that much hotter then originally I wish there was a food close sea food restaurant . Bonefish is much better but to far to drive. The last two tines we have been one of us got cold food. Red lobster has definitely went down hill. read more

My how the mighty have fallen.... When Red Lobster first opened along with Olive Garden I was stoked. While Lee's Summit has some quality chain restaurants, the holy trinity of Houlihan's, On the Border, & Longhorn was getting a bit boring for me. Oh Red Lobster, what has happened to you in these few short months? While their next door neighbor has maintained consistently good food & service, Red Lobster has fallen off the wagon in a big way. I went there last night with a fairly large party. We were seated relatively quickly even for a Saturday night & the host staff did a good job of keeping us updated on our table preparation. The hosts & servers are honestly the only good thing about this place. Now on to the food...Between the rock hard pieces of potato in the soup, the stale biscuits, & the varying temperatures of our meals, I can't decide what was worse. For the life of me I can't understand how a seafood restaurant can't prepare seafood properly. Remarkably, the fish & chips managed to be both dry AND drowning in grease. I've had better flavor at Long John Silvers. Perhaps the cook was in a coma or had lost a limb, that's the only reasonable explanation I can come up with for the food being so awful. I definitely won't be going back. Skip this place & head next door or down the street for better food at a better price. read more

Took a while to be seated, but it was a Friday in Lent, so I give them a pass. They had two large tables for large groups only that sat empty on our entire visit. Seems like a waste to me. The food was pretty good. I got the tilapia from the fresh catch menu. My only mistake was asking for the garlic lemon sauce. The meat was good without the sauce and they smothered the fish in it. Get it simply grilled with no sauce. My fiancée got the coconut shrimp which she said was quite good. We came hungry and got mozzarella sticks and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. Avoid the mozzarella sticks. Not worth it. We also got large orders of our entrees. Eyes were bigger than our stomaches. Couldn't finish it all. All in all, not a terrible experience, just a learning experience. read more

Went for a lunch around 1pm. Not busy at all. The place isn't high class, but it's new and looks nice. Service was there, I haven't been to a Red Lobster since I was a kid so when asked explained I hadn't been to one and got some pointers on the menu from the waitress. She was attentive and came by at a server's regular intervals. Now to the food, I recently started a diet and figured figured seafood if cooked right would be fine. Had trouble finding a combination that didn't have something fried or slathered in butter. No section set aside for healthy options. Choose the broiled scallops and shrimp scampi and hoped for the best. Had a side of broccoli. Both entrees came in dishes sitting in puddles of butter. Ugh. At this point I realized I should have asked if I could do substitutions in a one of the two other dishes that were contenders. Need grilled shrimp as an option on the create you lunch section. My friends pasta also looked slathered in butter. The scallops are not sea scallops, but tiny bay scallops. They were ok, but when I took them out of the dish and put them on a plate I was able to grab them all in one scoop of the fork as they were stuck together (as was most of the shrimp) . Tasted a little rubbery. They do have a few chicken options on their lunch menu that are in the $7 to $8 range, but most of their lunch meals are $9 to $10. The rest of the menu is the dinner portions that can get quite pricey. $15 to $20+. If I wasn't trying to eat healthy this place would be fine. read more

Went to dinner Wednesday night at 5:30, parking lot was half empty so thought we would get in without a wait. Entered and noticed the dining room was 3 quarters empty the hostess said it would be a 30 minutes wait. We waited but looking back should have left. We were seated after 30 minutes to an empty dinning area. Then greeted by a waitress that had no interest in serving us. She was rude, slow and gave us poor service. Had to ask for the biscuits, got them without plates so had to place on our napkins. Then had to ask for napkins and refills of water. We got our food by the plate runner. The waitress never came by and asked about the food or if we needed anything with our meals. We then got our check for our overpriced meal. Words of advice do not go to the Red Lobster in Lee's Summit if you are expecting a nice night out. Wait until they go out of business and maybe the next place will be better. read more

Went for Mother's Day dinner. We knew it would be busy but were rather surprised to hear our wait would be an hour especially after we had been there a few minutes and looked around and saw so many empty tables. We had been there probably 10 minutes or so when we saw some family members walk in. We thought it would be nice if they could join us, so I went back to the hostess counter to add 2 to our party. When she said that would add another hour to our wait I thought you have got to be kidding me. A table of 4 to a table of 6? They opted to eat alone versus having us all wait. After 40 minutes or so we were being seated, but not in the dining room. We were seated in a rather "cozy" booth on the bar which wouldn't have been so bad but it just seemed a little cramped and a bit louder than I would have liked. Our waiter was a very pleasant young man. Our drink order was taken, then within seconds (so it seemed) there were our drinks and that one thing we all crave......the steaming basket of Cheddar Bay biscuits! YUMMY! !!! We hadn't been to Red Lobster for a couple years so we spent awhile studying the menu. Now the hard part making a decision. I decided I would try something new so I had the Crab and garlic roasted seafood bake. From the picture on the menu I was afraid I was in over my head. When my dinner arrived I was a little shocked. They set a large covered dish in front of me and removed the cover, it looked like about half of what the picture showed. But believe me the flavor more than made up for the portion size. The seafood was cooked to perfection and the sauce OMG it was GREAT! I finished all of it! I will definitely go back and order it again. Over all it was a pleasant dining experience. Tried this for lunch the other day as met some friends there. This particular visit was during their lobster fest so i tried the feast. The snow crab legs were very small and came out cold not much meat in them was disappointed with this part of the meal. The lobster tail was also on the small side but was not bad in the flavor department. The feast also came with 2 kinds of shrimp. A fried shrimp and shrimp scampi these were the best part of the feast. The cheddar bay biscuits are always great and come with the meal. Didn't think the price was worth the meal as the portions were small and with the price over 30 dollars for this entree just didn't seem like the portions were worth the price. read more

Just went there last week with some friends, even though we reserved a spot a day before.. we were still asked to wait fot about half n hour, finally we got the table and the lady asked us what flavor would each person want.. she came after like 5 mins with some biscuits and drinks.. and it doesn't took about 10 mins to get our first round of the shrimps.. which was not even warm and every time we asked for another round the turnaround was about 3-4 mins.. and she'd just bring 5-6 shrimps for each person.. below par experience ... been at a different location last week .. awesome service , no complaints.. but this time.. it turned out to be worth regretting.. shrimps were either not seasoned properly or sometimes not cooked.. and not warm enough on an instant.. you can do better Red Lobster..! read more

Just left the Red Lobster in Lee's Summit. Used to be my favorite chain in the world since I was a kid. Over the past few years of trying the one on Noland Rd and now Lee's Summit I have to say that what ever they are doing is just wrong. This is a nice new building that they don't take care of. Floor was extremely dirty and there was a smashed cockroach on the floor. I only found this out because I dropped something on the floor. We got salads and entrees in reasonable time the only problem is we did not get silverware to accompany the food for quite some time. The cheddar baked biscuits that they are famous for came out cold. Took forever to get refills on water. The water was because they do not have Miller Lite on tap. At the end when we spoke to the manager on duty she told us how sorry she was and decided to "give" us 25% off the meal. She would have been better served to tell us to come back again to see if the service was any better. After paying the check we decided to call the restaurant to maybe speak with the general manager. The person on the phone told us to call back tomorrow around 10 or 2 to speak with her. Next we get on the phone with another manager on duty and he took our information and said that they would call us tomorrow. Red Lobster needs to understand that when people complain about service that it is not to get money off the check but to try to get a more enjoyable dining experience. read more

Arrived at 9pm. We were seated within 30 seconds. Booth sat a bit low, was a bit amusing. Ordered: 1. Pepercorn sirloin with Caesar salad and mashed potatoes with gated cheese on top. 2. Ultimate feast with mashed potatoes on side. Server was attentive but did need to be reminded about straws for drinks. Caesar salad was well prepared and lettuce was still crisp. Meal was excellent with the only issue being a little too much peppercorn on the steak. Service went above and beyond. My family and I came to your location tonite to celebrate the life of my Auntie who passed away and I have to say it was a HORRIBLE experience. I'm going to refrain from having a filthy mouth so here it is. My son and I showed up late to the dinner and when we walked in my Family had been waiting since 7pm to be seated. It was already 8:45pm. After being told multiple times that the table was getting cleaned from different servers and Host I realized it took 32 min to clean this table. After finally being seated at 9:27pm my family all order the same thing which was endless shrimp. So by 9:38 the orders were done. 10:15 we have multiple servers asking who had what and which they still kept getting it wrong. At 10:30 after constantly telling them what we had one of my Family members gets upset and starts to go off because one it's a very special day for him, two the kids are starving and three he was tired of being asked and brought food we didn't even order at our table. Now the manager on duty is getting up in his face and arguing with him in front of the whole restaurant and tells us that she called the police on us and we better leave. FIRST OFF AS A MANAGER YOU ARE TRAINED TO HANDLE THESE SITUATIONS BETTER SECONDLY CALLING THE COPS ON US BECAUSE WE ARE BEING MISTREATED BY THE STAFF AND NOW THE MANAGER TO ME IS A POOR EXCUSE OF A BUSINESS AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THANK YOU FOR DESTROYING A SPECIAL DAY THAT WE HAVE BEEN SPENDING EVERY YEAR AT YOUR RESTAURANT. Just left one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. After being sat we were told by the server, Hanna that she would be right with us. We waited about 10 minutes before she actually showed up to take our order and we didn't even get water until 10 minutes later. My beer took an extra 5. After about 20 more minutes of waiting patiently, we had to ask the host for a manager because our server never came back. The host never came back with a manager but just sat on his phone at the host stand all night. Another server, Cat, noticed our frustration and did her best to help in the situation, including grabbing the manager for us. The manager was understanding and we finally got our food after being there for an hour. To top it all off I found a hair in my shrimp. I guess that is the amount of time it takes for an experience there to where off, and I forget I pledged never to eat there again. We went for lobsterfest today. We arrived about 11:20 am. Only a few people were dining. As soon as we walked in my son asked what the smell was he was smelling. It wasn't good, and it was the lobster tank in the waiting area. My shimp was pretty tasteless even though it had two different sauces on it. My lobster tail was over fried and tasteless. This was my son's first time to have lobster in a restaurant. I just had it for the first time yesterday, I had placed a online to go order and customer service and everything was great.. the only thing that was different was that it seem like the portions got smaller. I had only about 6 shrimps in my box a piece. Went there for lunch to use up a gift card I received and our waiter Carlos V was Awesome!! Customer Service at it's best. He kept checking on us , he keep our drinks refilled without asking him, he kept the table cleared so we had room to eat, he chatted with us and made jokes,and he made sure we had everything we needed and wanted . I can't say enough great things about Carlos. Great customer service Carlos keep up the great work! James the manger was great as well he came to make sure our lunch was good and joked around with us as well. This is one of the beat experiences I have had at Red Lobster. Absolutely the WORST service I've had at ANY restaurant. Food was brought out with not a full portion and was told it would be out soon. It came after we asked for it and after our checks came. Which took over 15 minutes to pay. Then a piece of hair was found in our ice cream, the waitress apologized and took it away. We never asked for the bill to be adjusted, never asked for a new one, and certainly didn't ask to speak to a manager. However, Cam (Manager) came to our table to inform us he had looked at the hair and it was long and gray and he didn't have anyone in the kitchen with that type of hair. (We are all just wondering why he even came out in the first place???) My dad asked if he thought we placed the hair in the food...he just said he didn't have anyone with that type of hair and he couldn't do anything about it (We didn't ask him to) Still....Cam....WHY ARE YOU AT OUR TABLE??? Very rude. Very unprofessional. After waiting 15 minutes to pay, our servers never came back. My mom started walking towards the front when Cam confronted her because she hadn't paid?!?!? My dad was still standing at the table because he had cash that he didn't want to leave without handing it to someone. We paid Cam and left and absolutely, 100000% will not return to this location. I am still wondering why Cam came to our table...still just wondering. Guess he was having a pretty boring night and looking to give his guest a very unpleasant experience. Okay folks... my hubby and I go out to eat a LOT and we've frequented many Red Lobster's in our time, but last night we visited the Lee's Summit location for the first time. From the very INSTANT we entered this restaurant, we were warmly greeted by a smiling hostess and that was just the beginning of a fan-dabba-tastic dining experience! We were seated immediately and welcomed with another smile from our assigned waiter, Greg, who was at the top of his game when asked to give us details on the feature of the day. His description was so detailed in describing the delicious offering that we decided to forego looking at the menu; we ordered it up straight away. Our drinks were served in about two minutes, coupled with their traditional (and delicious) fresh, HOT biscuits. Our salads were served on a chilled plate and the lettuce was crisp and crunchy. The main course of shrimp was golden brown, cooked to perfection and the baked potato oozed with melted butter. YUM! The warm serving plate maintained its heat until the last bite was consumed. By the end of our meal, I couldn't manage another bite so Greg offered to pack our dessert in a to-go bag, along with a fresh glass of iced tea (also to-go, straw included). As we exited, again, a hostess who passed us on the way out, dealt up a genuine smile and wished us a pleasant evening. WOW! My husband (Rick) and I were so taken by EVERYONE at this restaurant from start to finish. So to the hostesses, the waiter, the manager, and to the chef, we want to THANK YOU ALL for giving us the BEST service possible. ALL other restaurants should use their outstanding service as a business model. Well done!!! We went Sunday evening expecting a possible wait. What I couldn't understand, was why we had to wait 30 min staring at 1/4 of the restaurant completely empty. I have to guess this is a common staffing issue based on other reviews. Once we were seated, the service was great and the food was well cooked and tasted as I would expect it to for a chain. Although, the restrooms needed attention. I couldn't take my daughter in the men's room without cleaning a toilet for her. Not my favorite activity when I'm out to dinner. I returned to the table and asked my wife to try her luck, and it didn't sound much better. It leaves doubt in my mind as to the time and attention being given to other places commonly out of sight. So, the service saved a star here but overall they're excellence was overshadowed by poor management. read more
