    1lb Crawfish - 1lb Snow Crabs
    Vi G.

Definitely have been wanting to come here. Unfortunately the crawfish lacked flavor but the snow crabs were delightful. The fried oysters, were subpar. I could've gone without them. I will say - the lunch menu (shrimp, snow crabs, mussels etc) costs is nearly the same as if you were to go purchase these at the store & made at home. The regular menu costs (shrimp, snow crabs, mussels, etc) the costs is double what you'd purchase at store. I would say - coming for lunch would be well worth it.

I've had a lot of seafood boils, but this one by far has been the best. From the freshness of the seafood to the sauce. Then even have lunch specials! Mines was $26 for one pound of crab, half of pound of shrimp (head off) I choose the sauce option that consists of all sauces mixed together. 10/10 I took my order to go and enjoyed it as if I dined in to eat it. They also have HH which of course is a plus for me! I highly recommend giving this place a try.

    Sausage Alfredo

This is definitely not Alfredo. We wasted 70 dollars there today. I will not be returning.

The food here is really fresh and flavorful. The service is super friendly albeit a little slow - I have to assume that is because everything is steamed fresh. We've been a few times and the food is always consistent. You can vary the flavor and spice level to your choosing. We only ever get the mild Cajun (my children love it). The boil bag is brought to your table where you open it and release all the steam. I am terrible at eating crab legs so it would be nice for someone to offer to show us how but that hasn't happened.

Super fresh and delicious! Really nice staff. The music that was playing was on point! Very enjoyable meal.

    Garlic butter special A
    Amy F.

The hubs and I shared the special A which consists of 1 pound of crab legs (2 clusters) 1 pound of shrimp, 1 lobster tail, 2 potatoes, 2 ears of corn and 2 eggs. The seafood was perfectly cooked - nice and tender. The shrimp were large, head-off but you do have to peel them. As with another review, I felt the actual liquid part of the boil - the garlic butter - was a bit on the short side. The garlic was very plentiful but the boil lacked salt. After adding some salt, the flavor was really amped up. The worst part for me was no kids menu. Let's face it, most kids don't dare for seafood so my 7 year old's options were very limited. He had the chicken tenders and fries which was 9.99 and way too much food for him. His fries were delicious though.

We sat at the bar, and the bartender was amazing, full of helpful info about the menu. He told us how the seafood comes in fresh. He recommended oysters to us, and since it was our first time, he threw in a couple of his favorites at no charge. It was also happy hour, and we took advantage of the specials, ordering the cheddar biscuits drizzled with honey and the colossal cocktail shrimp. They really were huge and delicious. We also enjoyed half-price oysters. My husband loved the crushed cocktails We split the mahi-mahi, and we loved how he told us about the fresh fish that had never been frozen and whether it was wild or farm-raised. The mahi was incredible. You could tell it was fresh. We enjoyed the potatoes and the BéreBlanc sauce. This is going to be a place that we will end up becoming regulars at. So happy to have tried it!

I know I'm a bit behind on my reviews again, but posting now other than later is still fine. lol.. I'm doing my best to keep up with what life is throwing at me. That being awkwardly included and all, sis and I dined on some of the best food I've had in a while. We shared smoked oysters topped with bread crumps and parmesan, a super spicy and flavorful salsa-type appetizer with habanero that came with surprisingly flavorful chips lol, we shared some crab cakes, a beautiful aquatic-toned alcoholic drink, and shared one of the best trout dishes I have ever had in my entire human life! 0__0 The rainbow trout was our favorite part of that entire experience, which was tough to decide on honestly.. My 2nd best thing were those oysters! Our waiter was so kind and entertaining, and I really hope we get him the next time I visit! If I remember correctly, his name was Tristin. Thankfully due to how early we were there that day, the restaurant wasn't super packed, so we had plenty of breathing air for most of our visit. During the last 15 minutes it began filling up! This review is a mess you guys, but it's still an absolute satisfied one!

As transplants from another state, and BBQ not being our first language, we wanted to try new things! They came to the table and we were all sort of perplexed. Were they supposed to look like...that? Either way, we dug in. They were cold in the middle, also a strange discovery to us. I ordered the burnt ends, which came to the table closer to cold than warm. The blue cheese potato salad was tasty and all it needed was a lil salt and pepper to make it perfect. All was going well, until my husband was about 4-5 bites into his brisket wrap. He asked me to smell it, and I did. It was funky! Smelled a lot like a foot and not a lot like a tortilla. He asked the server to smell it and they agreed it was a bit odd. The manager came over and denied it smelling like anything. My husband had finished his meal, and we weren't looking for a freebie but wanted to let them know it was a lil weird. Instead of acknowledging the potential issue, we were dismissed as "wrong." It just didn't sit right with me. My husband had some definite issues in the hour or two after eating, so we won't be back. I won't say it was food poisoning because genuinely it could have just not agreed with my husband. I'll put my disclaimer on here, I hope people do enjoy and continue to patronize this small business, it's just not to my liking.

We arrived around 5:30pm on a Saturday and were told there would be about a 10-minute wait, so we opted to grab seats at the bar and have dinner there instead. As the evening went on, we learned there are some trade-offs to dining at the bar. As the restaurant filled up, the bar area became increasingly busy and service naturally slowed. Small but noticeable details -- like water refills -- started getting overlooked. I was also surprised our server never checked in with my wife about her Chicken Pasta, especially since she barely touched it. We started with the Caesar Salad, which was excellent. The portion size was enormous -- easily large enough for two people to share -- with crisp romaine, generous dressing, and plenty of shaved Parmesan. I'm a longtime prime rib fan, so seeing it featured immediately caught my attention. The 13-ounce cut arrived perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The meat was exceptionally tender and flavorful, complemented nicely by a rich au jus and a creamy horseradish ("horsey") sauce that added just the right kick. My wife ordered the Chicken Pasta, which arrived as a very generous portion that could easily serve two. The dish featured grilled chicken over pasta in a spicy Asiago cream sauce. Unfortunately, the heat level was stronger than expected and ended up overpowering the dish for her, leaving most of it uneaten. One highlight of the evening was the Double Black Diamond Martini -- an infusion of fresh pineapple with New Amsterdam Pineapple Vodka. At $7.95 during Happy Hour (normally $13.95), it felt like one of the best values on the menu and was refreshing without being overly sweet. The restaurant was packed throughout our visit and clearly has a loyal following. After six years in this location, Firebirds seems to have built a strong customer base. With a bit more attentiveness to bar diners during peak hours, the experience could easily move from good to great.

"Premier" isn't marketing flair - it's accurate. This is, hands down, the best raw bar in Kansas City. We arrived for our 5:15 p.m. reservation in the main dining room and were warmly greeted by Allison, our server. She struck the perfect balance - friendly, engaging, and attentive throughout the meal. A great start to the evening. For two diners, we wanted to explore as much of the menu as possible. Before ordering food, we were told the signature Frozen Gin & Tonic was a must. It lived up to the reputation - bright, refreshing, and expertly balanced. The only thing that would have made it better was a slightly warmer dining room. We're big mussel fans, so we opened with the Bangs Island Mussels - and they set the bar high. A generous portion of plump mussels bathed in a white wine and roasted tomato broth that was deeply flavorful without being heavy. The toasted bread was perfect for soaking up every last bite. Simply outstanding. Next came the NOLA-Style Shrimp Gumbo. Served in a small bowl, but packed with richness and depth. Adding a touch of hot sauce brought just the right amount of heat and complexity. A standout dish. My wife - having happily overindulged in mussels and bread - opted for a lighter course: a single Maryland Crab Cake, available fried or broiled. It was almost all crab, clean and flavorful, with a satisfying crust. She couldn't finish it...so I did. When you go to a raw bar, oysters are non-negotiable. I ordered a half dozen featuring both East and West Coast varieties. Each one was pristine, briny, and fresh, and the horseradish had just the right bite. For my entrée, I chose the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp - four large prawns, each wrapped in crisp, smoky bacon. Simple, well-executed, and a strong finish to the savory courses. Dessert did not disappoint. My wife loved the Lemon Pistachio Chess Torte, while I devoured the Bourbon Apple Tart. She noted that the toasted meringue reminded her of marshmallows - a detail that made us smile. The dining room is intimate and can get noisy as it fills up. Next time, we'll likely try the patio for a different vibe. Pacing throughout the meal was spot-on, dishes came out promptly from the kitchen, and Allison's service tied everything together into a truly memorable evening. We'll definitely be back - and soon.
