Searching for a spot to dine on Christmas was like searching for a needle in a haystack. (We were traveling for the holiday) Lo and behold, Red Lobster was open. Signage indicates they weren't accepting walk in diners. What? I attempted to make reservations through Open Table. No matter what time I selected, after putting in all my info, was informed the time wasn't available. My daughter lucked up and booked through Google for an 8:30 seating. Cane back at 8 and we're seated immediately. Restaurant wasn't busy at all. Server was attentive. Food was good. Had to ask server for additional cheddar biscuits twice. She finally brought them once we were finished eating. Daughter got a seafood boil-spicy. It was verrry spicy. Almost too spicy and she's a fan of spice. My Bourbon smash was really good. Appreciate that they were open especially for travelers like us on the holiday. read more

I don't typically leave reviews -- I don't have the time or desire to. But this experience was bad enough that I'm writing this an hour and a half after leaving the restaurant. We arrived at 5:30pm and were seated quickly since there were only two other tables in the restaurant. Unfortunately, that's where the positive part of the experience ended. We waited about 10 minutes before being greeted. We ordered two sirloin and lobster combos. The server asked if we wanted sirloin or filet, even though the menu only listed sirloin. When I asked the difference -- including ounces and price -- she said she didn't know and stood there until I asked her to go find out. Not a great start. Our entrées arrived before the salads (which she admitted she forgot). The steaks were extra rare instead of medium rare. When I mentioned it, she placed the plates on a nearby table and took another table's drink order before bringing them back to the kitchen. The lobster was cold and mushy -- so much so that my kids, who had been excited about it, wouldn't eat it. The fries were good, but the rest was underwhelming. After the steaks were returned, no one checked on us. We asked for boxes and the check. It took a while to pay, nothing was pre-bussed, and I had to ask the host if we could settle the bill. The server then hovered awkwardly while I signed. Originally, I wasn't going to say anything, but the experience sat so poorly with me that I called and spoke with the manager Stephanie when I got home. I received excuses instead of solutions or any attempt to rectify the situation. I was even told the server would be there until 9:00pm if I wanted to call back with additional "pointers" for her -- which was just as disappointing as the meal itself. With so few tables that evening, I expected much better service and food quality. Unfortunately, this was not the experience we hoped for. read more

I could not tell you how the food was as we were seated with a menu and no one ever came back. We sat there for half an hour, no one acknowledged that we were even there. No one brought us water or took our order. When we got up and walked out no one even asked why we were leaving. Frustrating thing, there were only four other tables, so not busy at all. Won't be coming back. It's sad as this used to be one our favorite restaurants before they declined. Won't be coming back. Yelp asked me what could improve, lol. How about everything, don't sit some down and not serve them. We went to Pearl restaurant and we were immediately seated and had a drink within 5 minutes. Food was great ... service was unbelievably poor ... have been twice in the last month around 5:30ish ... never busy ... 1st time waitress took our drink order drinks for the bar & waters ... came back about 5 minutes later to take our food order & to let us know drinks should be out soon but said the bartender was busy ... could see the bar ... no one was at the bar ... asked about our water ... those showed up almost 10 minutes later ... bar drinks arrived at the same time as our food about 10 minutes after our waters ... 2nd time same thing ... when you order a frozen drink & it comes to you with the glass sweating & the lower half is thawed ... yes that just poor service ... we'll be finding some where else to get crab legs read more

Absolutely horrid experience. I don't even know where to begin. The food came out looking like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. Dry, overcooked, and completely flavorless. The lobster was rubbery, the shrimp were tough, and even the biscuits which are usually the saving grace tasted stale. Nothing tasted fresh or remotely worth the price. I have had better seafood out of a frozen dinner box. Save your money and your stomach. This Red Lobster was a complete disaster. Also let's not mention the manger's customer service. read more

We recently went to Red lobster and were turned away, so we decided to try it again at an earlier time. I got the crab legs, my daughter got the sirloin and crab topping, my grandson got chicken tenders. None of my daughter's food came out right. We didn't mention anything because it was taking so long to get things (30 minutes for ranch). It took an hour+ to get our food. My crab leg clusters tasted funny. We both had belly aches and weren't feeling well around bedtime, unfortunately. We won't go back to this location but we tried! read more

Our server (Megan) was very good & the food was also very good! We had about 3 previous meals at this Red Lobster where the service was not good at all & we were hesitant to return but I'm happy that we decided to give it another try! The reason for only 4 stars is because we don't like the new menu. Also, I have eating restrictions & cannot eat fried foods so am very disappointed that I couldn't substitute a baked potato for the fried potatoes on the crab leg dinner!! read more

I admired how hard the employees worked in please other customers surrounding the restaurant that was visible to me. They were extremely short staffed one server was training another with two party tables on top of her regular section. Everyone's food managed to come hot and ready. I was really impressed! Many time we as humans forget coming a business as a customers that life happens even behind the scenes of a restaurant/ other business although I was hungry the management also were in the kitchen helping cooking and checking on guest regularly. Craving seafood? Red Lobster is the place to be! My grandma and I stopped in for a late lunch today and were met with wonderful service. Our waiter, Evan, was extremely friendly and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed! I got the pick two shrimp with garlic shrimp scampi, shrimp Alfredo, and mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious. Ate at the Red Lobster in Lees Summit, Mo. Unfortunately the only good thing about the visit was our server. Believe the general manager was Stephanie. There were 11 of us celebrating 4 birthdays. I understand that we were a large party. However I don't understand how it took an hour to get our food and 50% of the lobster was raw. Three people got sick and none of us could eat they did try to remake it but when people get sick kinda hard to eat it. Have emailed corporate office. I am interested to know how they handle when someone gets food poisoning because according to Stephanie it doesn't happen that quickly. I am however impressed that Red Lobster has medical professionals as managers. Never ever have I had a manager act as she did. Be very careful ordering food here. This is a carry out order review! Grabbed a couple meals for my people since they enjoy the coconut shrimp here. I decided on the Cajun Chicken Alfredo and it actually was good! I thought it was a hefty amount especially for a lunch special. It was seasoned well and the sauce was thick and creamy! The biggest downfall was the soggy biscuits.... At 5pm with an empty parking lot we should have known better. The food is not good, doesn't even taste like it used too. The lettuce in salad old, cheddar bay biscuits hard, rice nasty and coconut shrimp not even close to what it used to be. This is our last time at what used to be one of our favorite places. Tonight (Friday) I decided to treat myself to Red Lobsters "Lobster Fest" and the steak & lobster. The service was very good, my waitress, Brittney, was sweet and tried to make things right. We went in at 2 pm only a couple times occupied in restaurant. A hostess was behind the desk with a broom. She didn't greet us or smile. Asked how many, 2. Said it would be 15 minutes! One lady was all ready waiting. We drove 20 minutes to be there so we decided to wait. She had zero social skills and acted as if she didn't want customers. So less than 5 minutes she took us to our table. We had wonderful service. She had 3 tables. We saw 2 others servers for 8 total tables. Food & biscuits were exceptional. Food timing was great! Sat down at 8 PM on Saturday night and place was empty. Got served our appetizer and biscuits with no plates so we used napkins instead. Waiter took order then left for 20 minutes before coming back. Had to ask for more biscuits, plates and refills. Food took longer than expected. Waiter never checked on us after we got our food. Food was not good. Other workers were sitting the booth doing each others hair while you could staff yelling at each other using profanity . Whoa. Seriously. Like so poorly managed. And it hasn't changed for months. LONG LONG LONG. Wait times. They really aren't even trying here. We have visited the Nolan's Road location and was seated and served quickly even though they had the same staffing levels. How can the corporate structure allow this to happen? Please fix it. Not to mention they allow people on the app to jump ahead (or so they said). Eight groups have walked out that could have been seated, you are turning away customers who would like to pay for your food. They don't have the same problem next door at Olive Garden so you can't say that it's a staffing issue.... Same city, similar menu pricing, so it just boils down to managers. Let me start with saying I don't actually eat seafood, we came here with family and they were wanting lobster so we ended up here. But have no FEAR because there is chicken and steak on the menu haha so we were safe. I'll only speak on what I had to eat: I ordered the Filet Mignon cooked medium and steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. The steak was pretty decent, it wasn't as "medium" as I would have liked but it was pretty good. I ended up pairing it with some A1 sauce. The steamed broccoli was great it was lightly seasoned and I squeezed a lemon on it and added a little salt (yummm) and lastly the mashed potatoes were homemade as is literally mashed potatoes. We had a party of 5 and the restaurant was packed however it took less than 20 minutes for everything to come out & our orders were all correct. Our waitress was really sweet, she checked on us throughout the entire meal and remained super cheerful even though the restaurant was full of people. Our family ordered the salmon, shrimp, lobster, and some other items from the sea haha and while I didn't try their dishes, at the end of the meal we all had happy plates. This was a win for us. What is the point of a reservation? We made reservations for 6:45. When we arrived we were told there would be a wait before we were called. Ok..Well there were 16 people before us. They allow all walk-ins to be added to wait list even if there are reservations. We were told by staff reservations are pointless and they only allow our name on the list when we check in. Tonight my son wanted to take me out to eat because he was so excited for Mother's Day. He asked me where I wanted to go & regretfully I chose Red Lobster. I knew it would be a mad house given the holiday, but I didn't expect the terrible service we received. We were sat around 6:00pm, greeted about 15 minutes later. I felt bad for our waitress because I could hear the table behind us getting upset. She grabbed our drink order (we also added in an appetizer of the Lobster artichoke dip) & she disappeared. About 10 minutes later another served appeared with our drinks. We waited.. & waited.. & waited, until finally our server came back. She asked if we were doing okay (completely forgetting we hadn't ordered yet). We looked at her & asked if she was ready for our order & she said "yeah that's what I was asking"... We gave our order, my husband ordered the dragon shrimp, I got the 6oz surf & turf & our 5yo got the Kids Macaroni. I subbed my salad for a cup of soup & requested biscuits. About 30 minutes later we were brought our appetizer, along with our entrees ... (what was the purpose of the appetizer ???) ... also where was my son's macaroni ? No soup either... Once our food was dropped (by someone other than our waitress) she vanished. My son was crying that he was hungry so I gave him half of my steak & mashed potatoes so we could start our meal. 10 minutes later his Mac arrives glossed over and cold to the touch. We tried to flag down the girl who dropped it but she left so quick. We sat there for 20 minutes without a soul. No refills (my husbands mouth was on fire from his dragon shrimp)... Still no biscuits, no soup. Our waitress reappeared one final time to collect our dishes & I practically begged her to take my card so we could leave. I've never had such crap service, nor felt the need to actually complete a customer survey. The manager was actively walking around, but it seems he avoided our section- we requested to talk to him through one of the other waitresses in passing... that never happened. 12:52 on a Monday wait wasn't bad. However we have had a rough start. The biscuits are old and hard the coleslaw was bland and tasteless. The service thus far is really good. Server is quick with refills and very attentive. The lobster tail was not hot but did taste good. fried shrimp was super hot and was amazing. Shrimp scampi amazing! Crab legs cold and they sucked total garbage. Again great service person taking care of the issue. A seafood place should be better at sending out food at the correct temperature. I almost always enjoy this Red Lobster more than the Independence location but this time we had a rough start, we had to wait almost 5 minutes in the aisle in front of 4 empty tables for someone to clean one for us. Why couldn't we sit at one of the already clean tables? I have no idea. But things got better after that, our server was very friendly and quickly got our drinks and app out. The Tuna Poke was delicious! Crab was awesome as usual - I'm not sure who brought me the smallest amount of butter I'd ever seen but our server soon brought us out more. You know, last time we went here I would have rated it a 1 star with food and service. We were given gift cards over Christmas and decided to use them at the LS location. Our waiter was Christian and was great! We enjoyed bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp crab rangoon, the ultimate feast, etc. Everything was great and much improved.
