On 8/10/23 made reservations for a big party at 5:30. It was my nephews 10th birthday and my brother in laws mom's birthday. There was about 15 people ( reason why the reservations). We had a server who tried but the cook walked out. The only person that we saw was our server and he kept apologizing. Our food was bought out 1 meat at a time, the drinks were watered down and finally at 9 they brought out the last meal was a kids meal in a to go box and it was for my 5 year old nephew. No one from Mangment came around and said anything or tried to apologize. I called they corporate office they took down all the info and said that someone would call me with in 3 days. I waited 5 and no one. So I sent a response to corporate and finally a DM emailed me (no phone call) and said sorry here is $30. That's was it. First of all the bill (because we paid it was well over $500) but that's besides the point. I have to admit that Ihave not been to Red Lobster in years! However, we were out on Black Friday and were hungry and they were...well they were there, so we went in. I remember the days when the lobster tank was filled with lobsters, but on this day there may have been 3. We were seated promptly and the place was not at all noisy or crowded, which was a plus. Our waitress was very sweet and offered great service. Our food, unfortunately, was just okay. I ordered the spicy Cajun linguine. There was no spice at all! I was disappointed. My mom ordered a stuffed flounder that sounded so good, but when it arrived it was bland. How does crab stuff flounder not have any flavor? I ordered my daughter the children shrimp and fries (which are her favorite), but she did not care for the shrimp, which was surprising. The saving grace were as you would guess, the BISCUITS!! That restaurant could stay open based on the biscuits alone, so delicious. I got some to go! I ordered a drink that I forgot the name, but you get to keep the glass (its the only one like it), very good drink!! quite fruity and pretty. I posted it on the check-in photos. Well, like other restaurants, this location is severely understaffed. It took over a one hour wait, despite the restaurant only sitting guests at 1/3 of the tables. That being said, once we were seated it took another 20 minutes for a server to take our order and another whopping 1 hour and 20 minutes for the order to be served. So disappointing that they could not provide the adequate service to their guests. With toddlers it was even more frustrating. We thought about getting up and leaving several times, but that is not the type of guest we are. The food was fine when it came out but nothing to write home about. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. He shared with us about his culture and it felt like we were eating at his home the way he was bringing elements of his culture into our experience. I don't know how or when this restaurant went downhill, but it has. Came here tonight "Friday" and the first thing that turned me off was the clientele, who was mostly dressed for McDonald's. Really people? Can't you dress nicely for a sit down meal? Can't you women comb your hair and leave the leggings or pj pants at home? Both our soups came out about 10 minutes afterwards and that was fine. We waited, and waited after that. We saw our waitress walk by our table, and unlike most restaurants where the waiter or waitress will stop and assure you your meal is on it's way, we watched her go to the table ahead of us and behind us. Then another waitress came out with a tray, and she asked me if I had ordered the "Fisherman's Warf" or something like that and I told her that I hadn't ordered that meal, but my husband and I both informed her what we ordered. A few minutes later the assistant manager came by our table and tells us the most bizarre thing. She tells us that she is fixing our meal in a hurry and the the general manager is also helping to fix it. She then tells us that our meal was sold to someone else who has already paid the ticket. I didn't get this, but assumed someone ordered the same meal and therefore it went to them. Just before the assistant manager came to our table with our food, we presume we heard her voice in the kitchen yelling at someone who was in trouble (not professional) She seemed frantic and trying to make sure the food looked good, and if there was anything else we needed. My husband had broccoli missing from his plate and mine were not as steamed as they should be. Overall, the meal tasted a bit rushed. I didn't want to say anything because of how the assistant manager seemed to be. Even though we finished eating our meals by 9:40 pm, we thought we might get dessert. Instead, our waitress brought our check and didn't ask if we wanted any dessert, and she mentioned that the manager only decided to take out 20% of our meal. Came here to celebrate a birthday and had a great evening. This restaurant has made a huge, positive turn around in the last few months. Our food was great as was our server Adrienne. The neighboring table's server Adam was friendly and the new manager Bob spent some time visiting with us too. Overall, the staff was more friendly and even seemed to be having fun which is great to enjoy as a guest. Really, everything was very, very good. If there were some some type of drink specials I might even spring for a drink sometimes. I would order them again. The garlic butter biscuits are heavenly and I personally could make these biscuits my dinner. I ordered a sweet tea and it had a nice medium sweetness to it. It has been a while since I have been to a red lobster and had noticed that their portion size has gone done. I understand that the pictures in the menu are blown up and touched up to be perfect, but then you get you meal and it barely looks like the picture in the menu. It's a suburban chain and given the choice my my mother-in-law who wanted to make me and hubby for dinner for my birthday, I chose Red Lobster hands down over The Olive Garden. This was my first visit to the new Red Lobster in Lee's Summit. It was Friday night and we waited about an hour for our table. The restaurant was clean. Our server Stephanie was good and attended well to our needs. We all three ordered the Four Course Meal Special. I also had a Triple Berry Sangria. I like Sangria and this one got a bit weak as the ice melted toward the end of drinking it. The fruit decorating the glass was excellent. All three of us ordered New England Clam Chowder and it was good. Our salads were good as was the Blue Cheese dressing. The Cheese Biscuits were good (but not refilled). I ordered the Coconut Shrimp and took half of it home for a snack the next day. Hubby got the Shrimp Scallop Linguini and my Mother-In-Law got the fried shrimp. I heard no complaints. My dessert of the brownie ala-mode was delish. I left full and had enough food for a snack the next day. All three of us had food to take home with us. What a waist of staffing and as a manager you should be able to see the issues and take action. We rarely eat out anymore due to the ridiculous cost, poor service, food and unprofessional staffing. This just confirms why I don't go out. As I'm standing there for 10 minutes I thought why don't I call the location in Independence MO. They quickly answered the phone and stated there was no wait time and to come on in. We drove the 10 minute drive to Independence and when we arrived the place was packed. They immediately seated us and brought our drinks and biscuits. We placed our order and while eating our appetizers we get a text that we can now be seated at the Lees Summit location. This is unacceptable and starts with management. Whomever that manager is she needs to be fired. This isn't an industry for you. You need to be in a position that requires no contact with people and definitely not a management position. We work hard for our money and I have many places I can choose from. Today was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at any Red Lobster anywhere. Possibly the worst of any restaurant I have ever experienced. On Friday, October 21, 2016, I ordered carry out from the Lee Summit Red Lobster. I ordered early since Friday night is typically busy. I ordered at 4:30 and was told it would be ready in 30 min. It was right at 5:30 when they finally brought our order out. When we got home with the order the first thing we noticed is that there was only one sack of biscuits for 4 entrees. Next we noticed that there was no melted butter. The salads all looked ok but all 4 entrees had at least one issue. I will list each one individually. #1- Wood Grilled Peppercorn Sirloin - The steak was undercooked and had little, if any pepper. #2- Same steak as above with wood grilled shrimp - The steak had the same issues as #1. The shrimp was good. #3 & #4- Ultimate Feast with baked potato, butter and sour cream. Everytime we order this as carry out most of the seafood is under cooked. I have always attributed this to the chef not wanting the seafood to get over done from the carry out packaging. A little annoying, but expected. I just put all of it on a sheet pan and pop it in the oven for a couple of minutes. The crab legs were abnormally small. The baked potatoes were small, but good. By far the worse issue of the night were the lobster on both plates. They were all shriveled up and the color was off. They were overall a washed out, almost grey in color. There were spots of black and spots of yellow. I will attach a picture or two of the lobster. Very disappointing. I spent a lot of money tonight to give my roommate her favorite birthday dinner. The major component of every entree had an issue with it. That, coupled with all the minor problems is the reason I am giving only one star rather than a two. Angela was a wonderful waitress. She assisted in helping me order the Powerbowl that best fit within my WW program and modify it to my taste. Grilled Shrimp with NO rice (I don't eat rice) extra sauce. It was tasty and served HOT! She was pleasant even when I told her it looked different the dish as it was served in SD. She went back to verify it was suppose to be served the way they were serving it. (Not a big deal I was just curious which way was correct). I am just a very curious person. She kept our water glasses and Dr Pepper of my friend very full. The restaurant was clean and so was the ladies bathroom (which I appreciated). I would definitely return here again. Poor curbside experience. Ordering on the app was easy. We paid in advance with our card for curbside pick up. We arrived five minutes early and called to let them know we were there waiting. 25 minutes later, our order had not been brought out yet. We called again. They did not know where our order was and even questioned if we were at the right store. We were at the right store. They FINALLY found our order. They said it would be right out. A few minutes later, it was delivered, and it was as cold as could be. I sent it back for them to redo. Which they promptly did. They brought it out a second time with a few free biscuits added. However, that was not sufficient to make up for us waiting over half an hour past our pick-up time (over 1 hr after placing our order). Very disappointed. For our part, we tried to do everything right by letting them know when we arrived & checking on the order status when it was late. For their part, they dropped the ball repeatedly - did not deliver curbside as was requested on the app and in our 1st call, could not tell us where the order was, finally found the order BUT brought it to us cold. Had I not checked the package before we pulled out of the parking lot, we would have arrived home with cold food and would have had to make a second trip. I'm glad I made them wait while I checked the order. I am also sorry that I prepaid for the order which included a generous tip. This service did not deserve a generous tip. read more
