I've been to many Fogo de Chāo locations, and this is one of the prettiest to look at. Nice location and nice space. But the food at this location is a little lacking. I had one piece of meat with edges to tough they were like wood. Most of the food was okay, but it wasn't up to the quality of most Fogo de Chāo locations. With this stunningly beautiful building, this location needs to step up its food game.

The ambience was great. You definitely felt like you were in a higher end restaurant. The market side bar would be sufficient for a meal all by itself. There is a great variety of vegetables, fruits, and salads. I had a caramilized pineapple old fashioned and it was delightful. The meats that came around to the table were flavorful and well cooked. The service by team approach is great as you are never wanting for anything. Rachel went above and beyond. The only reason for the missing star was the host that seated us. I explained that we had a reservation for their $49 special but I couldn't remember what it was called. He said that is only offered at lunch. He finally said it was available and said it is this and pointed to the $69 full market. Much later, someone else came in and sat behind us and said they had reserved the $49 taste of Brazil and the waiter said "okay perfect". Other than this, the experience was exactly what we wanted it to be.

Salad bar selections there's a little bit of everything on this plate.

It is an amazing spot especially if you love hot off the fire pit food. The different delectable meats that come to the table when you are ready for it is so tasty and hot. The salad bar that has all sorts of delicious options to choose from is amazing and always fresh. The atmosphere is relaxed fine dining at a reasonable price and you get your money worth. The Brazilian limeade is soooo delicious. All the lamb and steak and chicken and sausage and bacon wrapped meats I mean you get nice and full. The wait staff is fantastic! With the price of beef going up I think it's well worth it. Great for office lunches after church dining, wedding anniversaries, date night or just casual eating out with the girls it it suited for every event and well worth it. The dessert is fantastic as well.

We celebrated NYE here and had the full churrasco experience. The food was scrumptious as always, the atmosphere was vibrant and exciting. Our service was exceptional as the gauchos were circulating frequently with plenty of meats to choose from, steak, chicken, lamb chops, sausage, bacon wrapped everything. Our server Mataeo did an excellent job and recommended a fantastic bottle of wine to enjoy with our meal. While the venue is typically packed for the holidays, our 4:45 PM reservation ensured we were seated promptly. However, the lobby became increasingly crowded as the evening progressed."

If you're a meat lover, Fogo de Chão is basically heaven on a skewer From the moment we sat down, the experience was seamless. Servers in traditional attire glided through the dining room offering perfectly grilled cuts of beef, lamb, chicken, and more--all carved tableside. The picanha was easily my favorite: juicy, tender, and seasoned just right. Pro tip: flip that card to green and come hungry! The Market Table is a dream. Fresh greens, smoked salmon, imported cheeses, cured meats, and seasonal fruits--it's honestly worth visiting even if you're not a meat-eater. Everything was fresh and beautifully arranged (you'll want to take pictures!). Don't even get me started on the sides. The pão de queijo (cheese bread) was warm and chewy, the creamy mashed potatoes were decadent, and the caramelized bananas added a sweet surprise that cut through all the richness. To top it off, we ended the meal with their signature papaya cream and tres leches cake--both light, smooth, and not overly sweet. Just enough to round off the meat feast. Yes, it's a bit of a splurge, but the quality of the food, the service, and the whole theatrical dining experience make it worth every penny. Great for celebrations, date nights, or treating your inner carnivore. Would definitely come back--and I already have a favorite table. .

What a fantastic upper end experience. Situated in the beautiful Country Club district, amongst the gorgeous Spanish Moroccan architecture and bountiful shopping. In spite of not having reservations, we were seated immediately. The staff all take care of you - so if your original server is busy, someone else will come over and make sure you have what you need; that was cool as we had the opportunity to meet four or five different people, not to mention the staff going around with the meats on the skewers, who were universally polite. A plethora of meat selections as well as a salad bar that you could easily choose as your entire meal. I had the cauliflower steak (I know, I went to a Brazilian bbq spot and had the vegetarian entree) - it was VERY GOOD. My friend had the traditional meats on the sticks extravaganza. Was a little disappointed that a fancy Old Fashioned that was on the menu was not available (out of pineapple?) and that the bartender didn't come up with something equally interesting to sub - just gave me a standard Old Fashioned - boo. Other than that, totally fun and would go again in a heartbeat.

What an amazing experience! I've visited so many Brazilian steakhouses and am always leery of what will happen, but our visit was nothing short of wonderful, minus the bar service. Still giving this place 5 stars in spite of the terrible bartenders, and below you will see why.... We arrived with a large private party. It was open seating and we were LUCKY enough to sit in Brennan's section. He was so kind and polite and made sure we were taken care of the entire time we were there. Very relatable and just really took the time to ensure we had a great experience, even though it was so loud because there were so many of us! He did remind us of our age, letting us know that any of us could have been his teacher, lol! The charcuterie salad bar is typical - nothing overly special or exciting. The corn was cold which I've never had before, but I didn't really focus on the salad bar because I knew that the goodness was coming in the form of skewered goodness! We were not disappointed-the house prime, the bacon wrapped sirloin, the Parmesan pork, the garlic steak, the chicken, the sausage, the pork chops, the lamb (according to my table, I don't eat lamb), fried cheese, Brazilian cheese bread, the mashed potatoes and the caramelized bananas....everything was so delicious. And then, after ALL OF THAT, they bring our dessert. The chocolate braggadocio(sp) and cheesecake were to die for and really we all got dessert to go because we were stuffed. The waiters and waitresses, the bussers, the manager....EVERYONE was awesome, except the bartenders. They need a lesson in kindness and personableness. Perhaps they were both having a bad day at the same time. Who knows. I would definitely recommend the food side to anyone looking for an evening that will bring you a great case of the meat sweats!

    Happy Birthday....

Simple Birthday Table for one. Ordered my first drink. Didn't see my server or was introduced to any break server. 26 minutes fly by. It's not busy. Drink empty. Could have ordered a few more like I normally do on Fogo trips. (I travel for work across the US biweekly so Fogo is a goto for the consistency) So I wait another 10. Then i approach the host stand to ask for help. Another 5 minutes fade. Another server drops my check off at my table. Im at the host stand. So I go grab it, can't find the server that dropped it off to reconcile the check. Luckily, the bar staff immediately picks up the slack for the floor team. I will not be back to this location. So much for the birthday.

Salmon, Brazilian potato salad, street corn, artichoke and cauliflower.

Located at 2976 Gillham Rd in Kansas City, MO, this spot absolutely lives up to the hype. I had heard so many great things before going, and I'm happy to say it did not disappoint. The brunch menu is impressively diverse, with something for everyone. It was honestly hard to choose because everything sounded so good. We started with a vanilla oat milk latte, which was perfectly made -- smooth, rich, and not overly sweet. For starters and mains, we tried the smothered biscuit, dill caper deviled eggs (including the sriracha version, which had the perfect kick), buttermilk fried chicken, the chicken and waffles three-way (beautiful presentation and incredible flavor), and the vegetarian quiche of the day. Every single dish delivered on flavor, quality, and presentation. You can truly tell care goes into both the food and the overall experience. This has officially earned a spot on my list of top brunch spots in Kansas City. They treat their animals with care and expertise, and it shows. Having been to many fine dining spots, I can honestly say the quality of meat here at The Upper Cut KC surpasses them all. I'm picky about my food and can tell great quality when I see it & taste it. The Upper Cut KC deserves way more than five stars--seriously, I mean it! I thought the brisket sandwich was fairly tasty, but it wasn't huge, the onions weren't carmelized they were grilled, and the brisket wasn't smokey. The Mac and cheese was fine and good but not great. If I lived closer and I could get the above with a soda for $20-23, I would give it 4 stars. There's nothing amazing about it to earn 5 stars even if it were priced like I wish. The place wasn't that busy, but with one register running, 4 people in line, and ringing up 2 butcher orders that came in after I was there, it took me about 12 minutes to place the order and another 20 to have my sandwich and side.

But the prime rib was shockingly lacking flavor, the filet came out undercooked, service was polite yet inattentive and slow, and the overall experience didn't justify the high-end price tag. Enjoyable night, but not the 5-star steakhouse splurge we hoped for. My wife and I visited the downtown Kansas City location last night for an early birthday dinner. 6:00 p.m. reservation and we were seated immediately in a cozy booth with a festive Christmas-tree napkin fold, nice holiday touch. Atmosphere is classic upscale steakhouse: dark, dim lighting, white tablecloths. Bread was warm, crusty, and excellent. Cocktails were solid, my top-shelf Old Fashioned was very good, wife's mocktail was tasty. Both ordered the Sunday Supper (salad, entrée, dessert). SaladsThe Caesar was outstanding: crisp romaine, perfect anchovy-garlic dressing, plenty of Parmesan, and an ideal crouton-to-green ratio. One of the better Caesars we've had in KC. MainsPlating on both dishes was gorgeous. My wife's 6 oz filet (ordered medium-rare) came out closer to rare. Still tender and high-quality, but the temperature miss was noticeable. Garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful; the grilled asparagus was unfortunately thick, woody, and surprisingly bland. My 24 oz bone-in prime rib (medium-rare) was cooked perfectly throughout. At the server's recommendation, I had it finished on the grill with extra seasoning. It looked spectacular, vibrant color, beautiful crust. Sadly, the flavor just wasn't there. Severely lacking that deep, beefy punch you expect from a premium cut at this price. The same mashed potatoes were good, and the fresh green beans were spot-on, tender-crisp and bright. Desserts (to-go for the Chiefs game)Sorbet trio (raspberry, plum, blackberry?) was outstanding, bright and intense. Crème brûlée was classic perfection. ServiceFriendly but passively slow and not very attentive. Far from the proactive polish you expect at this level. Bottom line 3.5 starsLooks the part, photographs beautifully, and the Sunday Supper is a steal, but the star proteins fell flat on flavor and service didn't match the price. Good, not great, several KC steakhouses deliver a more memorable splurge for the money. Happy to return for happy hour or bar bites, but for a big celebratory steak dinner I'd go elsewhere.

Safe to say, I'm glad I did. Even without a reservation, the host was able to seat me right away, and I lucked out with a table directly in front of the band, which instantly elevated the experience. Bonus points: it was restaurant week, so I got to explore a curated menu. I started with the lobster bisque, it was very rich, velvety, and loaded with generous chunks of lobster in every spoonful. For the main, I went with the 8oz filet mignon cooked medium, and it was executed flawlessly tender, juicy, and cooked exactly to temperature. The mac and cheese was indulgent and creamy, while the creamed spinach was perfectly balanced and delicious. Dessert was carrot cake, it was HUGE!! Enough for 10 people to share. It was super moist and flavorful without being overly sweet the perfect finish. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and cooked to perfection. This is an ideal spot for date night or an anniversary dinner, it absolutely sets the mood. I'll definitely be back to try the regular menu.

A Hidden Gem in Westport!…read more I recently visited Brix in Westport, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations! This vibrant Latin restaurant has a cozy, intimate vibe that makes it perfect for date night or a fun evening out with friends. We started with their handcrafted cocktails -- beautifully presented and incredibly flavorful. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp and potatoes and some fresh guacamole. Both were delicious, but the shrimp dish really stood out! For the main course, we had the Burrito Ahogado and the Latin pasta -- the pasta, in particular, was packed with bold, rich flavors and definitely a standout dish. Dessert was a fun surprise: they have the cutest little churro cart serving mini churros that were warm, crispy, and just the right amount of sweet. After dinner, we discovered their hidden speakeasy -- such a unique touch! The cocktails there were stunningly presented and added a fun, upscale vibe to the night. Overall, Brix is a must-visit in Kansas City. I'm already planning to go back and check out their brunch menu! Great food, amazing service, and a fun vibe. This was my first time at Brix but it will not be my last! Our server was attentive and I really enjoyed the agua fresca, and their chips and guacamole were divine. I ordered the carne asada tacos and ate every single one! My bestie ordered the ceviche and loved it. My husband ordered the pastor Brix plate. I wish I had popped in here sooner--so delish!
