We decided on two appetizers, the Irish Nachos were amazing. Think loaded potatoes, cheese, bacon, sour cream... literally amazing. The shrimp appetizer was also very good, it was the perfect amount of sweet and spicy. As for our main courses I got a French Dip and my husband ordered the filet mignon. Service was friendly but slow on the night we dined in; I think they did all they could as it seemed they were short staffed, but we did have to wait awhile for the food. They have plenty of spacious seating including booths and tables on two different sides of the restaurant and some interesting photo decor. This was our first visit. Our waiter was very friendly, but tended to disappear often. We got a pretzel to start with it was really good and we loved the beer cheese with it. My husband had the ribeye and jalapeño grits he said both were delicious and worth our 40 minute one way drive. I ordered Grandmas Chicken- I have several food allergies due to Alpha Gal so finding a good meal is harder for me- this chicken was absolutely divine, and I refused to leave any bites behind. I was supposed to have mashed potatoes but got grits and didn't see the waiter until I was nearly done with my chicken so I asked for my potatoes to go- we had somewhere to be... 20 minutes later we had paid and still didn't have the potatoes so we gave up and left without them. It was an expensive couple of pieces of chicken but thankfully they were delicious! I met two of my friends for drinks and dinner a couple nights ago, and we had a great experience! We arrived around 545pm, and while it was already busy, we only had to wait ~40 minutes for a table. The bar was busy but they had a long standing only table where we were able to order a drink with a server which was awesome! The service in the bar and at dinner was fast and friendly. Once we were seated, we ordered the bruschetta appetizer and it was amazing! I highly recommend! For dinner, one of my friends and I both ordered off the restaurant week menu. I had the steak and mashed potatoes and she had the scallops, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. My other friend ordered the chicken parm. That made me worry about having to wait for a table, but there was no need to worry as my family of four were seated right away. I always order the Salmon BLT. We went in for happy hour around 4:30. Immediately seated, greeted and got drinks. Our waitress, Tina, was incredible! She gave recommendations, let us take our time and was all around a sweet girl. We got 4 appetizers for happy hour. Mozzarella sticks, Chicken Quesadilla, Buffalo Wings and Chile Con Queso with Chorizo. Let me tell you, the food was cheap and the portions were HUGE! We filled up on those happy hour apps and even have food leftover for lunch tomorrow. We also got the banana cream cheesecake. It was so rich and sweet. Came in for lunch and were seated right away. Sports bar type of restaurant with nice vibes. The bar area has TVs all over but there's another section that's a bit quieter. It's not loud at all, but I'm sure this place is very busy and loud during the Chiefs season. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and chose coleslaw as a side. I am in charge for a group of ladies who do a monthly luncheon. I picked Nick and Jake's because I have previously dined there and enjoyed the food very much. The manager was great to work with for this large group and actually called the morning of the luncheon to make sure that we were all still coming. He recommended the grilled salmon dinner for me and it was a huge hit! I ate every bite! My daughter had the salmon BLT; and my friend split a fried chicken salad with her daughter because she said the salads are HUGE! Sure enough, even though they had split it, neither one of them could finish their half of their salad. My daughter was also unable to eat half of her sandwich and fries. One of our favorite restaurants to go that's never missed a beat when it comes to food and service. Helps that it's right down the street from our house. They do take reservations for larger parties, which is good, because this place is always busy, especially on the weekends. Our favorites include the pot pie, meatloaf, mozzarella sticks, and Irish nachos, honestly though, I've enjoyed many of the specialty menu items that rotate throughout the week and consistently been pleased with the outcome. I come here fairly frequently and I appreciate as a general rule the scratch kitchen and menu variety. My last visit was super disappointing grabbing lunch with my kiddo and we had a difficult time getting service. It seemed as if no one was assigned to our table or section so we just waited oddly with no greeting. The kicker for me was there seemed to be about four girls working the hostess station and again from afar with generally no care in the world and not really seeming super service oriented. I say that because when approached and I asked if we had a server assigned or they could check, the hostess was snobbish and indifferent. End of day, we finally got our food and the quality was good as we expected. The wait was long and the overall service, the attitude I would say, made it a bummer. No apologies ever. I suggest .. Egos in check my friends ... What sucked for me was this was a big teaching outing we set up for my middle school kid.
