What more can you say.... Ray Ray's is known as the best BBQ in Columbus, Ohio. That being said... I had never tried it... until now. We ended up being the second to last customer of the night, so sadly, there weren't many options available. We ordered a full rack of jalapeño-sauced spare ribs and a 1/2 lb of waffle fries. The rib sauce was absolutely stellar and truly finger-licking good but could have offered more heat. The waffle fries were great and the accompanying Sriracha-Aioli dipping sauce was insanely good. The heat was freakin' perfect. Loved the Boylan drink options too. That Creme Soda is my jam. I'm going to leave this review at a 4 star for now, but when I come back for the Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Collard Greens... this review will be updated accordingly. Line was quite long so I hoped service would pick up but it was unusually slow. But good food takes time to make. Was worth the wait. I had the jerk chicken with side of waffle fries. Filled me up. WOW. We were across the street at BrewDog when the smell of BBQ wafted over.. We perked up immediately and wandered around to find the source. Low and Behold it was Ray Ray's Hog Pit, smokin' across the street. We paid our check and rushed over. We grabbed beer inside the adjacent brewery, and ordered Jerk Chicken and Brisket, PRO TIP they have free Pork Rinds if you check in on Yelp. Let me just say I have never had Pork Rinds before (ever), and these were INSANE. They were literally still crackling as he handed them to me... They recommended a dipping sauce along with it (aoili of some sort) and it was absolutely glorious. I would eat them every day. The food was great, the guys that were working were SO personable, and everything came out fast! It was super fairly priced as well. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area! read more

First things first. "Wagyu?" Really? Come on. Ray ray's has quickly become the go-to spot for bbq here in Columbus, OH. But at that same rate, it's becoming a place I avoid. I couldn't be more disappointed in my last visit. I ordered the "wagyu" burnt ends. 1/2 lb for $16. Give me a break. The weight of meat came from almost all fat. AND THEY PUT ONIONS AND PEPPERS ON IT! That was an insult to the meat let alone "Wagyu" meat. Good bbq doesn't even need sauce but to add peppers and onions was ridiculous. I want to taste the meat not overpowering vegetables that cost 20 cents of the $16 I paid. The "Wagyu" was simply just a gimmick to charge more for an already time-intensive dish. Bbq vets order burnt ends for the intense smoke, time-hardened bark and fall apart juiciness. Not some Gimmicky "Wagyu". You get Wagyu at steakhouses for the flavor of just the meat (but mostly to impress your friends). Wagyu has no place in bbq. Bbq is blue collar comfort food, not some high class you-pay-for-the-brand-name BS. Get outta here. And very surprising from a, or so I thought, "true" bbq establishment. The ribs were delicious to be honest though. The smoke developed a great flavor and their spice blend is perfect match to the heavy smokiness. Collards were ok. When dipped in the bbq sauce they were pretty good. The picture I attached was my entire meal that cost $29. After I ate everything I was still very hungry. There are plenty of other great bbq spots around town that have better prices and reliable food (ex. You won't pay $16 for fat and onions and peppers). I honestly really want to Support ray rays because if I would have reviewed them after the first time I had it I would have given them a 4 star review but this visit was outrageous. Snagged a half rack of ribs to go after having drinks at Land Grant Brewing. Loved that they had multiple sauce options but I went standard house bbq because I wanted the authentic taste. These ribs are right there with the best I've ever had while living in Texas. I didn't try any of the sides but I did get a free smell of some of their wings and was super jealous. So today after the OSU game decided to hit Ray Rays . We have always loved Ray Rays - best bbq in Columbus . Today was not your day ! Pulled pork sandwich , special of the day wagyu brisket, 3 bones of baby backs and collards and baked beans . Sides are always solid and the pulled pork today was super tender. The 3 stars is for the ribs which were a little dry and over cooked - way too crispy on the outside . We're not judging them for the wagyu because we've never had this . I know it's a fatty cut of meat but probably much better in a steak with a seared exterior and buttery fatty inside . With brisket , there wasn't that crusty e terror and was too fatty for us . We'll still be back - everyone has a bad day but considering we were craving it - bummer . read more

Love Ray Rays but what do you do if they forget to put one of your items in the bag. My daughter loves the waffle fries and so do I. We go to this location because they are the only ones with the waffle fries so it sucked to get all the way home and not have them in the bag. Great location inside one of the better breweries in town. The BBQ is pretty good, wouldn't say it compares to the stuff in the major BBQ destinations but good for here. Not really a huge fan of any of the sauces, so get them on the side and go for the dry rub. The waffle fries are alright for what they are but the aioli/sauce really helps. The best brisket. Period. lucas and the whole staff where very accomidating and friendly. I had to wait about 40 minutes for more brisket becuse its so good they can run out. But its fine, I just grabed a beer at rehab tavern and returned in 45 minutes. Lucas immediately remebered my pound of brisket and took care of me straight away. I have been searching all across the state of Ohio for what I consider to be the perfect ribs. In my opinion these are the best ribs in the state of Ohio! I get them dry and they toss them In the rub so you get that spice on your lips and tongue with the perfect amount of smoke. I have tried the pulled pork and brisket and they are great also. But I am a rib guy that lives 40 miles from here. So if I'm craving ribs I drive to Columbus and get a dry slab of ribs and take home. I also get an order of their fresh cooked pork rinds for the drive home. They also toss those in their rib rub and they are hot when you get them. If you check in on yelp you get a free order of pork rinds. This location and the high street location are both great. read more
